I survived birthing him but now I am hanging on to life!

Its been 2 weeks and im still hospitalized,
A quota of my belly has been scrapped off! A bacteria of sort has been eating away on my incision site and upwards!
Initially my doctors thought it was my scar going septic until 2 days ago when the flesh below my belly button caved in!
Cellulitis is what they are suspecting but until the tissue sample currently being cultured in the lab result comes in we wont know for sure.

my birth story is on hold for now but I promise I will be back with it and the testimony of my supernatural recovery!

yes they asked of blood, mine and hubby...I have to double check if I was at a govt hospital o concerning the fee

is it General Hospital Ikorodu? That is ao they are, i used it 2yrs ago, paid 6500 for reg nd delivery pack, paid for lab test cannt remember d fee, was told normal delivery was 20k bt paid almost 30k for normal delivery + slept in d ward for just nit, I nd loo shared d same bed with enough mosquito to battle with. Only dh donated blood then, though i like to general hospitals but upon all the money they are collecting, dey cannt even renovate those wards. Except for the new building that has evrytin okay, d other wards ar nothing to write home abt. I was thinking i would be put in the new building ward only for me to told dia was no space dia, even d extended wards, i had to wait for some to be discharged.

You can first soak it water to remove the shaft just the way u do for moin-moin, thereafter sundry it, then roast it and grind it. However this method is very okay when u av a sunny day

MY BIRTH STORY

I started feeling funny lower abdominal pain on Friday at about 3am, the pain comes and goes and i felt i had eaten something that does not agree with my system the day before hence the pain. I dozed of when i felt a little better but by 6am the pain became worse and it turned to contractions but in all of this i never believed i was in labour, infact i was yet to do my laundry not to talk of packing my bag as i had 2 more exams to write and was due for mat. leave on the 28th.

Hubby tried to convince me to go to the hospital but i refused and told him it is false labour as i was neither due(my EDD was November 17th) nor feeling pain in the back of my waist, we kept on like that till he finally convinced me to take a hot bath and let us go casually to the hospital to check what was wrong.

By 8am we left and got to the hospital by 8.35 or thereabout with just my card, on coming down from the car i could not move and i refused to be carried so i had to be pushed inside. Was checked and i was 10cm gone already, my saving grace was that my water was still intact, was transferred to the delivery room and they burst my water and asked me to push with the next contraction which i did and my princess arrived without a tear weighing 2.7

Got to the hospital by 8.35 and gave birth by 8.50am.Then began the race for pls we need pad, pampers bla bla bla and none was available
Hubby had to go to a baby shop and bought everything in the list afresh.

MORAL OF MY STORY- PACK YOUR BAGS ON TIME

Big congratulations to all those that had given birth in October, may ur adorables be ur sources of joy always. To the remainin Oct due Mamas, wishing a very safe and joyous delivery. I pray that all pregnant mamas will deliver safely Insha Allahu, nd all TTC mothers shall be pregnant before d end of this month..... aminnnnnnnnnnnn

Tanks alot 4 ur comment, d dr has educated me on it too, more so she made me understand that dia is nothing bad immunizing at the nearest government maternity centre immediately after birth and that i shd ensure the baby complete subsequent doses which am aware of.

There is a standard protocol for handling babies born of hepatitis b positive mothers. HBIG(hepatitis b immunoglobulin) shot is given to the baby preferably immediately after birth to less than 12 hrs after birth, then you can feed the baby. And still the 1st shot of hep vaccine should be taken at both too or less than 48hrs after birth. The Hbig shot is actually expensive so plan for it. It's about 90k but I think if u know a pharm rep you can get it cheaper. Also don't forget the subsequent immunisations for hep b. With this baby is covered by God's grace. Please take this seriously. God will provide. After delivery you can also see an internal doctor or immunologist if you can get one they will run series of tests on you and know how to treat you. The only case i have seen she was advised to wait for 48hours as well. Personally i don't think there's any harm in waiting to ensure enough antibodies have been produced by the baby to handle any virus that passes through the breast milk. In that 48hrs baby can be fed with infant formula and afterwards you can go ahead with ebf. Other mamas with knowledge and experience will soon advise. All the best.

Please nurses and doctors in the house i need clarifications on this issue, am pregnant nd i know am hepatitis B positive. I know the baby must be receive hep B vaccine immediately after birth before i can breastfeed my baby. Now my doc said even the baby receive hep B vaccine, that i will have to wait almost 48hours bfore bf d baby, that d vaccine may not be active before then. Dr said d hep B vaccine given in the government healthcare centres takes almost two days before it can be active in the body. Pls how true is this?

She also made me know that dia is anoda type hb vaccine sold in big pharmacy stores that is active within few hrs after administration though very expensive. I have prepared my mind to use the maternity centre for vaccination but i need to sure of 'how many hrs to wait' before breastfeeding.


My fisrt baby receive the vaccine too when she was born though i didnt wait for 48 hrs before bf because nobody told me to do so but it took almost 48 hours before my brst milk was flowing. It was one nurse that God used as an angel for me when i was transferred 4rm labour rm to post natal ward, she saw file nd boldly written on it was "hep B positive" , that was she called my attention to it.

Pls share ur thought if u know on this issue

My FULL Birth Story
On wednesday 21st october i had my ante natal..discussed with my doc that my husband would be travelling for one week around my due date n i wanted him to witness the birth..Doc asked me to go eat pawpaw n take castor oil 70ml that if my body was ready, labour would start..he advised me to take the oil with 4 oranges on thur nyt. Took d oil at 4pm on thursday n went to cook soups for the freezer coz i believed i would go into labour. Went to toilet twice thur nyt
On friday 23rd october, i woke up with contractions at 7am and they were abt 7 mins apart. Decided to go to the hospital..i was checked n doc said i was 2cm dilated but they had to admit me n watch me coz im a FTM. Fast forward till 4pm wen i was again checked still 2cm n contractions were dying down. Then i started praying that i must not be sent home without having this baby o i decided to take a one hour walk n see if things get better, still nothing. My husband asked dem to discharge us around midnight since there was no improvement but they insisted they had to kip us till morning

Around 4 am on saturday, contractions intensified n were coming in 3-4mins apart. I knew i had progressed. Was checked at 7 am i was 4cm dilated they moved me to the delivery room around 9:30am n checked again i was 7cm dilated on my own. The pain was still bearable. Na so dem put drip for my hand o, i asked hope its not painful, d nurse said its jus normal drip not knowing i was being augumented then contaction pain went to x100 and i could barely rest through them. I dint evn know why she gave me the drip coz labour was goin at a good pace. At this point i was shouting Jesus its me n u today, it was too painful cant even describe it..i started begging pls lemi rest for 1 minute (all these while i dnt know i was being augumented o, just wondering why all of a sudden i couldnt bear d pain anymore)..i was biting the pillow, squeezing my hubby( he hear am dat day) all he could say was sorry baby

I begged them to let me come down from the delivery bed o dat i couldnt bear it again they said lai lai dat i must lay on my side. Few mins later i said i wanted to push, my body was ready n already pushing on its own..d nurse said i shud wait a few mins to be fully dilated.. I started begging nurse pls my body is ready lemi try n push then she turned me to lay on my back n said hold ur ankles, look at ur belly button n push like u want to poo. I did the first time nothing then she gave me a cut. At the second contraction i pushed like my life depended on it den his head came out.. At the third push his body slid out...that was wen i started praising God coz i knew it had ended in praise.

The placenta was delivered n wen it was time to stitch me, my gynae wasnt around so they called one young GP to do d stitches..the guy no sabi anything i was screaming in pain. Luckily anoda gynae lady came along n took over from the guy. She jus told me to stay calm that she would numb me completely n i shud let her kno if i felt the tiniest pain. She was so professional. She loosened all d rubbish d GP did and took her time to stitch me properly. She even said she gave me a cosmetic finishing (whatever that means) to look like nothing ever happened down there. She even called my husband to inspect it if it looked like wat he was used to..lol

In summary i thank God for showing himself mighty in my childbirth journey. Indeed i experienced heaven on earth!!!
