8 Ways Exchangers Can Make Their Customers Very Happy

INSTANT FUNDING
This is the most important factor that makes an exchanger’s customers’ happy. It doesn’t matter whether a customer needs their money now or not. Just pay them instantly when they sell e-currency to you. It’s clear that a customer who gets his money within 15 minutes would be happier than a customer who gets his money within 24 hours or 3 days.

For us, if we’re not going to be around because of certain reasons, we let our customers know that; plus the time when we’ll open for business again.

Customers would be happy when they sell e-currencies at good rates. Buyers are glad when they’re able to save some money from their e-currencies purchases, as compared to other exchangers

EFFECTIVE REFUND POLICY
Customers are always encouraged to contact their exchangers before buying and selling e-currencies. We don’t encourage automated buying and selling… It’s just like doing things blindly and it doesn’t make sense to us. When customer sends money to you to buy an e-currency which you don’t have, then simply refund them. Don’t hold their money until you’re able to get e-currency to sell (unless they willingly agree to that). When someone forwards e-currency to you and you’re not ready to buy, then forward it back to them.

A long time ago, someone sent money to us to buy e-currency. We tried to sell to him, but we discovered that his e-wallet account was barred from receiving funds. We contacted him immediately and sent his money back to him. Later, when he resolved the issue with his wallet, he sent us the money again, we processed his order successfully and then notified him. Later we found out that he was soldier! But gladly, we won his trust. Serve all your customers in most transparent way, for you don’t know who’s who.

Someone sent us $450 worth of e-currency, which we were not buying at that time. We forwarded it back to him. That person was hooked and he’s brought more customers to us, who were previous victims of online scammers.

HONESTY

As an exchanger, let your “yes” be your “yes” and your “no” be your “no.” Do whatever you say you’re going to do. If you can’t keep a promise to yourself, you can’t keep it to anybody else.

Some people think that aggressive marketing is the only way for them to grow their business. They’re wrong! If you’re a bad exchanger, you’ll soon be famous for bad business habits. Honesty is the most important secret that would make your exchange business grow in the long run. Tell your customers the truth, whether they want to hear it or not: They’ll later appreciate you for that. Without honesty, we’d go to jail (apart from ruining our own business). A Nigerian passport is perhaps, the most important national identification document a Nigerian can possess, it is one of the least powerful passports in the world because of the bad international image of the country, augmented by corrupt leadership.

Yes, corrupt people are encouraged because the punishment is light.

Now, to go to the real issue…. I applaud the effort of the federal Government and the Nigerian Immigration Services, as far as issuance of passports is concerned… But there are anomalies.

1. Why can’t a Nigerian passport be made to be valid for 10 years? Countries with less population issue passports with 10 years validity. Then why is Nigeria different? Given our ever exploding population, and the morbid stress of passport acquisition process, why can’t they make it 10 years validity? A person goes thru stress of application for passport; only come back for another battles 5 years later. Does the government derive pleasure in people’s suffering?

2. Why would a newborn baby, kids and innocent children go through the rigors of getting passports? This is wicked in my view. Why can’t minors get covered by their parents’ passports? Is the government doing this in the name of making as much money as possible?

3. Why has the government increased the passport fees when the process has become more cumbersome, stringent, painstaking and hassled?

4. Don’t the government know that the population is increasing? Can’t they do something to make acquisition of passports easier and easier? Why can’t they come with creative approaches? Can’t they create more and more passport acquisition centers?

5. Why would many people apply for passport and have to wait for months because there are no booklets? Why can’t the government look for ways to make the booklets become more and more abundant, since they’ve made it a big business?

6. When the government is complaining about the scarcity of dollars, as one of the reasons for booklet scarcity, would they say that they can’t get dollars at the official rates they set? I think black market rates are for citizens who don’t have any choice. But what about the government getting dollars at official rates? Why would they be affected by the problems they created themselves?

7. Why would “scarce” booklets be reserved for some people in the corridors of power and their favored acquaintances, plus those who pay very high fees?

8. Why can’t they cancel the mythical 64-page booklet if it’s not available and would hold innocent applicants to ransom for “many” months?

9. Why can’t an expired passport be simply renewed? Why would a person need to reapply after 5 years, as if applying new?

10. Why can’t they put at least, another stand-by printer at a center? Why would activities at a center halt because a printer is faulty and there’s not competent engineer around?

Clearly, it’s the government that has created problems for people, as far as passport acquisition is concerned. They increased the fees, refuse renewal, refuse to increase passport validity period, require innocent minors to go through the ordeal of passport application, and they know booklets are scarce.

Is the population too big for the government to handle with their current level of short-sightedness?

No doubt, the government has turned passport acquisition into a serious money-making business, while their customers (citizens) go through hell to obtain what they’re entitled to.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed? Why? Is it because of heat, or you don’t bloody care?

I have no real reason for asking this question. I sleep with mine closed because if it were open, I’d be afraid of someone standing in the doorway and me not noticing it.

My wife and I have to sleep with the door closed and locked because our house is home to a rather intrusive poltergeist.

If we leave the door open, we may wake to find cups that were once on the nightstand overturned and spilled in the floor, clothing pulled from drawers, books opened and strewn about, and all other manner of messy inconveniences. On some occasions, I've awoken in a groggy fog just in time to see an eerie apparition disappear from the room, as if startled by my movements.

I've suggested to my wife that we have the house blessed and ask a priest to exorcise whatever demon is lurking in our home, but she tells me that the Church doesn't consider toddlers “demons.”

My cousin, a good man who had not too long before had his first marriage end, was dating a fine young lady for some time. His mother’s sister, my Aunt Ruth, had long hoped for him to find more happiness and wanted him to marry the right woman.

Every face was turned towards him, Ruth was shock faced. “I object” he continued, “because this is not the right day for a wedding. We are all missing a much more important event and we cannot overlook it's importance, for today…” he paused and looked directly at Aunt Ruth “it’s Aunt Ruth’s 50th birthday”

Aunt Ruth looked like she was about to have a heart attack, stood quickly and profusely apologized while flustered at this whole event trying to get the wedding back on track… but to no avail. Everybody in the audience, the bride, the groom, the preacher, were all singing happy birthday.

The cake with her name in secret white frosting made out to her, the happy birthday elegant napkins and even a couple of the invitations to a surprise Birthday party failed to convince her this was actually a surprise birthday in her honor, and she turned to the bride and said “Mary I'm so sorry”. The bride looked at her with a sweet smile and said “actually my name is Heather.” (Turns out my cousin had broken up with his girlfeiend 2 weeks prior and they found a good friend of his to play the part) to finally convince her this was, indeed, a birthday party.

But for a moment there, at least to her, it was the greatest tragedy she had ever seen at a wedding.

ETA: So I called my Aunt to get the full story, some of you asked questions that I didn't know the answer to, turns out I got a lot of info mixed up. Forgive me, it was 21 years ago. It was actually my boy Cousin and Aunt Ruth’s nephew, the ‘bride’ was not dating him as the original girlfriend broke up with my cousin just two weeks prior

Talking to Aunt Ruth she loved it after the fact, and it's one of her favorite memories, but at the time she did just about die. It was her sister, the mom of the ‘groom’ that planned it.

The complication is that the shell is fused to the spine, which contains the spinal cord. Severing the spinal cord is never good for any chordate (of which a turtle is one). Severing or damaging the spinal cord can lead to paralysis or death. So you have to be extremely careful what you’re doing.

Further complicating an already complicated procedure is that it appears that a turtle’s lungs may be attached to the upper shell by connective tissues, which would have to be severed and reattached after a replacement is fitted. This would require artificial respiration in a human, since our lungs are negatively pressurized by the extension of our diaphragms and rib cages, which are more flexible than most of our bones. This setup requires the maintenance of a vacuum in the thoracic cavity, which is one of the reasons punctured lungs are such a serious injury. The more air that gets into them, the more the lungs are compressed, the less air you’re able to take in. This is aside from the bleeding, which is another big problem.

Anyway, this is not how it works in turtles (at least in sea turtles), they have a pelvic muscle that performs a similar function. The upshot is the muscles use the turtles own guts to squeeze air out of the lungs, and then relax the pelvic muscles, allowing air back in them. Problem is, the muscles responsible for the turtle’s respiration anchor on the ribs. Which, like pretty much the rest of the turtle’s skeletal system, is fused to the shell.

So theoretically, if a doctor could un-fuse the shell from the spine and ribs, he or she could remove the shell with minimal damage. But that’s a very big ask. The turtle would have to be sedated for hours upon hours, and this is trickier for reptiles than it would be for any mammal. The smaller the turtle, the more anesthetic must be used (this has to do with bone density), and they require heating and eye lubrication for support while they’re out.

In college I had a crush on this girl. She was religious and I guess I have a thing for the religious types. I had dreamt about her at least half a dozen times and so I had this cockamamie idea that we were “meant to be”.

I asked her out our Freshman year. She said she didn't have the time.

I asked her out our Sophomore year. She said no.

I asked her out our Junior year. She said she had just gotten a new phone and didn't remember her number (of course I didn't believe that).

Senior year I had found out there was an exchange program to Slovakia. They needed an Electrical (me) and am Optical engineer (her). I sent her the announcement to see if she knew anyone who was interested (of course I had hoped it would be her).

Just to confirm my suspicions, I checked her new number and sure enough it was the same as her number was in freshman year. She had lied about getting a new number.

I was still clearly infatuated. My gears were turning. I had a plan on how we could spend more time together. I wrote it out in one long text message and sent it to my friend.

It was only I had already sent it that I realized I had sent it to HER!

Imagine my horror.

I called my friend. He thought I was screwed but he called his older sister anyway to see if there was anything I could do.

The answer was a “He’s screwed.”

She was on guard the entire time there. Eventually I stopped trying to make conversation.

I explored the city by myself. I started going on trips on my own.

When we had returned and finished our project, I suggested we (our group) go have a dinner to celebrate (it was night time and we had worked the whole afternoon). At this point I had already given up and was just trying to be sociable one last time. Excuses were made. I said I was going on my own anyways.

I had finished my dinner and was about to leave when guess who walks in? Her and one of our other group members. It seems they had changed their mind.

They seemed shocked that I was leaving. But really, what was I supposed to do? Stay and watch them eat after they didn't seem to want to socialize?

We never spoke again and I wish her all the best. But, I'm satisfied that I will never wonder “what could have been.” I tried (several times). That’s all you can do as a guy.

Background: I’m working as DB and BI Developer and interested in joining Data Science team. Boss asked me to learn Python as much as possible and he will hold a test and interview after 30 days. Just to be clear - I’m not looking at Python web development.

In order to prepare for a position on a team you already work closely with, you should spend close to 100% of your time learning about their Python code, not “learning Python”.

However, for most data scientist positions, you won't be able to learn the required skills in 30 days. If the only thing separating data scientists from BI developers at your company is Python knowledge, they are BI developers who know Python.

Data science heavily involves statistics in most cases. You cannot learn applied statistics enough for those positions without investing a lot of time. If you spend 30 days learning a language and memorizing a few snippets of ”data science” code, and then start applying statistics, you will make many mistakes and you will have no way of knowing that you're making them. And if that's how your data science team is run, you may not want to be a part of it.

Honestly, I don't see any sense in it. But since the majority are not always right, their opinions may be different.

I have been in US for about 5 years on H1B and working in a top tier tech firm. My employer has filed my GC in 2013 but in EB2 it can take roughly about 10 years more (average). I have good savings to also start something in my home country. Looking to hear from people who have waited that long.


Forget US go to Canada.

It is close enogh. It is easy enough to get Permanent Residency. After five years and becoming Canadian citizen you can come to work to US again under TN provision (if they keep it in place which is not clear right now).

On the other hand what do you mean waiting for GC? You are still working, making money, accumulate even more savings, No?

I remember this episode from Golden Girls TV show. Sophia talks to her daughter Dorothy:
