By 2040, Nigeria will be a federal presidential one-party country with APC being the only party in power for decades- PDP, LP, YPP, NNPP, APGA will all merge together to compete this is a repeat of the United States with just two parties. If you think of it the 50 states did not get control over rail and corrections esp. the latter until 60-70 years after US independence and just 63 years after Nigeria independence the 36 states now have control of Electricity, Rail, and Corrections. It is like history repeating itself. APC have no excuse now to better the lives of ~300 million natives of this great country. God bless the Federation of Nigeria!

Business / Re: FOREX Crisis: Naira Plunges To 1,025/$, Job Losses, Factory Shutdown Loom by AjaoEstater(m): 3:41pm On Oct 11, 2023
If Niger can close all their borders then Nigeria can continue being closed so far it has made us #4 in agricultural output worldwide and #1 in Africa. Like they say one man's trash is another man's gold. Nigeria will be the greatest and most advance Federation and country on Earth in our lifetime. Amen.

Note: Naira is worthy than any other currency in Africa except South African Rand. So this give citizens of Nigeria opportunity to buy everything in the continent. And when the Naira getting so strong coupled with low interest rate our national debt will reduce. Another Good news is that the world is in love with Nigeria this decade with The Black Book becoming #1 on Netflix worldwide and it was produced with a budget of one million dollars and filmed in Nigeria specifically Lagos State.

And after having states for 57 years, Nigeria is poverty capital of the world and 8th most terrorised country on earth. But you think we are on the right track? grin grin grin

There was 20-30 Provinces before the 3-4 Regions so the 36 States are a successor to the 30 Provinces in Modern Nigeria. We are also a Superpower in Africa in everything.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is different from foreign portfolio investment (FPI).

The former relates to a cross-border investment in which a foreign investor establishes a lasting interest in and a significant degree of influence over an enterprise resident in a foreign economy. This can range from just to building new facility, and a lasting management interest (10 percent or more of voting stock) in an enterprise operating in an economy other than that of the investor. For instance, if the MTN, Shortight, and DSTV are examples of FDI.

So, FDI actually spurs growth. The issue you painted have to do with FPI which is often considered "hot money".

It also the Indigenous degree and CAMA coupled with FCCPC is also why foreign companies don't want to have a head office here because once they are in Nigeria they can never pull out or lay off native Nigerians (Shoprite Nigeria is a recent example with Ketron a 100% Nigerian company now owning it). Plus the Chairman or CEO or MD or Senior management have to have atleast 6 or 7 Nigerians.

Quit calling out states as if we are operating true federalism and decentralized governments.

Even the US which our Federal structure is modelled after does not practice true federalism. In fact the 6 states of Australia have unicameral legislatures like the 36 states. Plus it reduce cost of governance unlike US which is the most expensive Federation on the planet.

The states on their own can't attract investment. Most of the policies that will bring investments to states are made at the federal level not state level.

States can do MoUs and International Investment Partnership (why do you think they now have control over corrections and rail infrastructure) so that not true.

Regionalism was what got us into a civil war. The federated constitute states (36 and counting if we get more land) is the best way forward even China which is unitary and 10 times bigger than Nigeria have 23 Provinces and not 4 regions which will be China proper, Tibet, Mongolia, and Xihuanzi. US which will copied our Federal structure from and don't even have multi ethnicities just white and black people have 50 states and it also 10 times bigger than Nigeria I'm area. If we go back to Regioms we're will the likes of Lagos, Edo, Delta, and Bayelsa fit into without everyday loss of lives and bloodbath? The FG was super smart dispersing a population of ~300 million now into 36 states and with Buhari's 16 laws amending the 1999 constitution the states are now almost like sovereign nations with powers and control of rail, electricity, and prisons. And no LGAs should not be autonomous they should be under states' control and even get abolished and dismantled by their respective states like in the US. LCDAs are already directly rule so that a hint of the fate for LGAs.

Happy Independece everyone
God bless Nigeria
Long live the 36 states and FCT of Nigeria.

On the bright side if the Federal Government becomes a sponsor of terrorist organization, Nigeria will never witness a second civil war and we could easily annex Benin and Niger Republics forming the Great Naija Empire 😂

Note: Boko Haram have like 500,000 strong force if we include all the split factions and ISWAP.
Politics / Re: FAAC Shares N1.1trn August Revenue Among Federal, State, Local Govts by AjaoEstater(m): 1:19am On Sep 30, 2023
According to Wikipedia and my own addition. It seems the LGAs are third tier but de facto and even de jure they are all under States control but not direct like the unincorporated LCDAs since all 36 states have Ministry of Local Government which is headed by a commissioner. In Ireland the counties are the local government are are run by the Central government's Minister of Local Governments. Nigeria federal structure is sweet and best after the US but we have bad eggs in leadership at Federal and State levels.

Most of the states have GDP ppp over $20 billion so this is "chicken change". Lagos State alone is bigger than most African countries in both GDP nominal and ppp including Ghana.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Is 4th Cheapest Country To Live In The World - World Of Statistics by AjaoEstater(m): 5:41pm On Sep 27, 2023
I want to add in terms of GDP nominal Nigeria is #1 in the whole of Africa and few ranking not far from Ireland, Poland, and even Netherlands while in terms of GDP ppp we are #1 in sub-saharan Africa and second in Africa after Egypt and ranking higher than Ireland and many countries which have debts surpassing 300 to 500 billion USD. By the time Nigeria get to 300 billion USD in debts we will be the "most advance country on planet earth" currently it nearly 90 billion lower with devaluation of the Naira or easy to pay with low interest rates.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Is 4th Cheapest Country To Live In The World - World Of Statistics by AjaoEstater(m): 5:32pm On Sep 27, 2023
There are 15 million natives of Nigeria and their descendants overseas that make billions of remittance for the Federation and their kins back home so no one can say it only cheaper for Foreigners. Tbh Nigeria is the only country on earth that I know rent is annually and not monthly *cough* Ireland *cough*. We also have the cheapest price for cigarettes and our best know staple Cassava "Garri" is always going to be cheap depending on the state plus we all can buy things on credit "ondere" here unlike anyway else in the world. Currently in Ireland the global inflation cannot even make people eat 3 meals a day. We are so luckily here we should appreciate the country we have because if it all gone it gone. Oh we also have our own currency since 1973 so the Federal Government can always manipulate it to favour it territory.

God Bless Nigeria.

Tinubu the Executive leader of the Federal Government and a politician for over 30 years finally put the population debate to rest. Nigeria have 240 million people (Wikipedia put 230 estimate other sources say between 218 and 225) that means by 2028 we will be the 3rd most populated country in the world after China and India (remember 10 million babies born annually in the 36 States annually).
Politics / Re: I’m Willing To Become Unpopular To Reform Nigeria, Says Tinubu by AjaoEstater(m): 4:28am On Sep 23, 2023
Nigeria is the greatest polity on earth. We are #1 in many things and are giant of a whole continent in fact West Africa is under our influence. Agbani Darego, Enyimba FC, Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Victor Osimhen, Chicken Republic, Trans Amusement Park are all Nigerian things. The country was born to be great and a 3,600 years history from Nok Civilization. We have 5 undisputed oldest cities in Africa and #1 in agriculture, oil, and building materials like cement in Africa. Computer Village is the largest tech area in the whole continent and Ibeno beach is the largest sand beach in western Africa. With ~400 radio stations we are #1 in Africa and #13 out of 20 in the World (Ireland where I live for the second half of my life is not even in Top 20). We are the home of Moniepoint, Kuda, OPAY, Jumia, Konga, Jiji, Supermart, Hotels.ng and our corporate laws going back to the Indigenous decree then supplanted with NIP put our people and economy first (i.e. Jumia shutting it logistics service in every country except Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Morroco, and MTN force to make MTN Nigeria become a thing) and we are #1 in breweries in Africa with 5 major companies- Guiness Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries, International Breweries, Grand Oak, and Nigerian Distilleries. Nigeria will be a great power and the most advance in our lifetime. We are just starting!

Note: I want to add Nigerian Pidgin and Nigerian English have influence the English language with 29 of our words added to the English dictionary. Our Federal structure is the best in the world after the USA esp. After the 16 laws that amended the 1999 constitution. We are also unique in our diversity with 250-400 ethnic tribes and 500-800 languages.

WOW didn't know States can do FDIs anyhow with that the prison industrial revolution will begin in the Federation in 2024. It took the US 130 years before states had control of corrections and we are just in our 63rd year after Independence. The town I am currently living in here in Osun State is small in area but bigger than Dundalk and Drogheda in population 2x

The Efik homeland- Cross River State is bigger than the whole of South-East heck it even 2.9/3.0 of Ireland. Driving from Obudu to Calabar is 6 hours and that in the same state, Driving the whole of Ireland is 4 hours 🤣

Note: If you add Northern Ireland which is the only tiny percent that makes Ireland bigger than Cross River then than like 5 hours.

FG is a big joke. Na so Tinubu go de shift responsibility? You take the resources from the state and share them peanuts but shift huge responsibility to them, are you kidding me? Even other resources that are not being explored are abandoned to illegal miners because you tied the hands of states. How dare you give them such big responsibility? Any serious state will focus on interconnecting all nooks and crannies the with good road from whatever peanut Abuja is willing to give them

Tourism is under the purview of states and that alone makes the millions if not billions. It been that way even during military era and the Supreme Court made that clear many years ago.
