Romance / Re: Why Are Nigerian Girls Such Back Stabbers by Ajebota(f): 12:02am On May 26, 2008
nawa o ppl just enjoy shooting down other people's threads, i dont get it

@ poster "ca depend." Of course not all naij girls are this way and females from other countries exhibit the same traits but to my experience ( and maybe becos most of my friends have been Naija, duh!) backstabbing in general seems to be prevalent amongst the Naija female populous. However, me, I dont have energy to be chasing man. A responsible and committed man wouldn't require me to be keeping tabs on him all day everyday.

@poster
such girls can be your greatest problem.but as a man you must learn to try your best to overcome challenges.
look for a psychological way of breaking her down. don't ever let her dominate you

i may suggest silence, sex the way she likes it, slapping her when she does not expect you would, or taking her by surprise with your actions.

but you know her better, look for a way to have a tight grip on her, but if you can't leave her for good.

slapping her? nawa o, when you are not beast.I mean really, how do people talk like this?

Sleep in hotel rooms as much as possible. To get that extra "ashewo" feeling. I like the idea of being "paid" for good services once in a while. No need to look for more customers and he does not need to look for any escorts. We can both do justice to those roles. cool

wud hav 2 agree with this one grin

HR.Hotness,
thanks for the secret oil tip. I have just ordered some form my cousin in Nigeria but will check Peckham later on to see if they have it.
@ all,
Nice Thread, please lets keep it going,
Personally i have settled on Loreal's Peel and Demabrasion products, after a lot of trial and error. They work OK, are not too expensive and do not Irritate my sensitive skin.

The loreal microdermabrasion is good for weeky use I found. But I think St ives scrub gives the same results for half the price! Their peel is okay if your skin is normal and you are not looking to fade scars or anything. Its an over the counter product and is limited in terms of its effectiveness. Check out http://www.perfectskin.uk.com/ for glycolic acid products. Please note that glycolic acid peels sting!

@ All please always use sunscreen( spf 15-30) no matter what, more importantly if you are using any kind of peel!

Hi Ajebota,
Thanks for the thread, really interesting, and informative.
Could you provide the details for the place in London where you did the colonic irrigation?. Thanks.
Also what kind of 50% TCA peel did u use and was it effective?

You are welcome! The colonic place is in kilburn. http://www.coloniccentre.co.uk/ Seems like they have increased their prices slightly since I went there but they are still one of the more reasonable priced places in London to do it and the lady there is professional. Hydrohealing spa in Nottinghill Gate also does colonics but they are quite expensive and I haven't used them before. As for the TCA peel, I would say tread with care. i like experimenting with myself and can throw all caution to the wind sometimes, grin. You can only get such strength of peel on ebay and if you use it you must plan to stay locked up in your room for 10 days! shocked It really did fade my acne scars very quickly but I made the mistake of not rinsing a part of my face very well and it darkened a bit. This was a year ago, the part of my face has returned to normal. First of all what's your complexion like and do you have major acne scarring? If you dont have acne scars i wouldn't recommend such a drastic procedure!

hi girls, i hope y'all had a great wkend.
@ajebota i got the stives grainy scrub, gosh my skin always feels baby smooth after using it. its a great buy thanks alot grin
about the chemical, is the dermatologica mild exfoliator a DIY product or must it be done professionally?

i have this realy embarassing embarassedred thread like veins on my thighs can i get help on products to clear or @least fade them

that's gr8! glad you like the product. Dermalogica does a product called 'gentle cream exfoliant' which is good for using like twice or thrice (in the case of problem skin) a week. Its a DIY product, its nothing harsh. It doesn't sting or anything, just put it on for 10 mins or so and rinse off!

Fashion / Re: How Far Would You Go To Look Beautiful? by Ajebota(f): 11:06pm On May 19, 2008
STOP whitening your skin. Stop it now. It will damage your skin permanently, you will scar extremely easily and why would you want to change your complexion colour? What matters is that your skin in smooth soft and spotless not light. I have zero advice for anyone who is bleaching. Sorry.

i must say this is been an interesting read.i want to ve a glossy, fair skin.currently am using amos white cream and so white serum.it still is not working the way i want.also i ve stretch mark on my bum and boobs.what can i use to cure it.

@ajebota
thanks alot 4 your tips u've being of immense help.i'm based in Lagos,Nigeria

You r welcome. i agree with HR Hotness on the clarins, ,have no authority concerning secret oil as I have never used it. Tries bio oil but personally didnt like the fact that it was oil, not that its oily or anything. I use dermalogica face wash, panoxyl (benzoyl peroxide) very lightly on most mornings and bliss sleeping serum. I also used clinique 'skin tone corrector' for a month and I have seen a difference. Been getting comliments on my skin grin. Veni Vici might do the dermalogica, not sure about that but clarins is also gr8!
Izon:

Ajebota,
I must commend you on the useful tips and info you've given thus far. Well work girl. I'm convinced you're beautiful and you know just what to use. You said your skin isn't the way it used to be two years back. Now I would love to send you a pix of mine so you could recommend something for my face. All my life I've had mild blemish and spotting expect some months(one or two) in a year that I enjoy almost smooth face. Please reply me on vickyuti79@yahoo.com. In the meantime, I would go look for the following. Secret oil, black Opal blemish control, Clarins foam wash, toner. Meanwhile, I've used Neutrogena range of product for a year plus now. The cream (Emulsion & Moisturizer - mix with bio-oil - but since it became too greasy, had to stop totally) face scrub, wash, cleaner, sunscreen, hand and foot cream. Like others, I 45% content with the result as I am not black or fair. I now use Mary Kay Perfection range of body cream, body wash and perfume.

The ultimate question now is, because the Mary Kay cream I am currently using is light, which I like. Can I mix it with the secret oil?

thnx! will reply on yahoo as soon as I can. I also recommend you add a cream that has about 2.5% benzoyl peroxide to your morning skin care routine but you have to make a little go a long way or it can dry out or even lighten your skin if you use it too much or too regularly.

@ darkroll

You dont need to charge 200 euros for an hour's facial massage surely? The highest price I have heard for that is 80 pounds and the price should not be as expensive in Nigeria cheaper rent, labour etc.) Thnx for the aquumspas info tho.

Fashion / Re: How Far Would You Go To Look Beautiful? by Ajebota(f): 1:22am On May 15, 2008
@HR Hotness u say that blemishes are from improper cleansing. This is true but not always the case. Im sure u're aware of this but @ Tohloo, you need to exfoliate regularly as well. Chemically (mild peel e.g Dermalogica mild exfoliator) and physically ( mild grainy scrub e.g St Ives facial scrub). i can recommend products for you too as my skin is far better than it was 2 years ago when I had scars and spots all over my face. Where are you based?

tohloo:

i've gotten some interesting insights from this thread that r are going to b rly useful to me .thanks a lot girls
@ajebota thanks a lot 4 d adress of dt colonic place

@H.R i'm fair complexion(u know not to light not to dark, just in between) could u please tell me which of the clarins products that'll b good 4 my skin,i have occasional breakouts which is mostly concentrated on my forehead &between my brows which leaves black spots any suggestions on a product i can use to clear d dark spots and discolourations.

Fashion / Re: How Far Would You Go To Look Beautiful? by Ajebota(f): 12:30am On May 14, 2008
@ blackcat yeah there are these things called 'enemas' that can be taken orally or anally grin

check out this website I know they sell some stuff http://www.chrysalishealth.co.uk/shop/

However, nothing beats a colonic irrigation because it purges your entire intestine if done thoroughly and with care.

y thnx!

will make a decision on the piercing and decide whether to go through with it or not. Your nipple piercing is making me want to consider that too cheesy I doubt I would do that though, might affect breastfeeding later on or the hole might close up if you take the bar out to breastfeed for 6 months? Anyways thnx for the addy kiss

Hi 2 all, let's try to be sincere, some of us have made great friends through this forum, a lot of fruitful business deals have been made thorugh this forum and quite a lot got their first jobs thorugh information posted here. So who says nairaland has not changed lives.

I got introduced to Stock market through this forum and I know how much I've made (and lost!). I was influenced to get my first satelite dish through posts on Free - to - Air and ever since then I've been an addict to FTA.

Personally, I think the strong point of nairaland is the ease with which one can easily share and access information and the oppurtunities that come thereafter.

altho am jjc, i quite agree.
