Crime / Captain, 2 Soldiers Killed After Terrorists’ Threat On Nigerian Law School Abuja by ajumma(m): 10:37am On Jul 26, 2022
A captain and two soldiers have been killed by terrorists Sunday night in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), credible sources close to military high command
The captain and the two soldiers were attached to the 7 Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army, it was learnt.
The soldiers were reportedly ambushed after they visited the Nigeria Law School in Bwari following a distressed call from the authorities of the school. The school management was said to have alerted that terrorists had dropped a letter indicating an imminent attack on the school.
One of our sources said, “Following the threat letter from the terrorists, the leadership of the Nigerian Law School drew the attention of the military authorities at the 7 Guards Brigade.
“The late army captain (names withheld) and the soldiers were dispatched to the school for preliminary investigation.
“They had a discussion with authorities at the school and agreed on what to do to safeguard students, teachers and school facilities. Sadly on their way back, the terrorists ambushed them and that was how the captain and two soldiers were killed,” he said.
The source said other persons in the party escaped the attackers by whiskers.
Our correspondent was told that all stakeholders were asked to keep the threat on the law school, including the killing of the soldiers, secret.
“They said even the staff in the school should not be allowed to know what is happening because it will embarrass the government.”
Another source said following the threat, there was a plan to dispatch a joint task force to beef up security around the law school and Bwari at large.
He said besides the law school, other facilities in Bwari, especially those belonging to the government are now under threat and the people were now living in fear.
“This is the height of onslaught on the Federal Capital Territory, the seat of power,” he said.
“But the truth is that the threats have been there for long, nobody in the security circle in Nigeria will tell you that he or she is not aware of the threat on Abuja and the FCT at large.
“The terrorists have established cells in many communities around the FCT. That is why abductions have become a daily occurrence around Kuje, Gwagalada and the remaining area councils in the last one year or thereabouts.
“The target of the terrorists is to embarrass the government. They are in control of many communities in all the contiguous states to the FCT and they are finally here,” he said.
When contacted, the spokesman of the Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa, confirmed the attack.
He said troops were already combing the general areas in order to ensure that no more terrorist is hibernating around the area.
In recent times, bandits have been attacking villages in the nation’s capital with the latest being the kidnap of a monarch in Kucihbuyi, a community in Bwari Area Council.
A few days ago, terrorists attacked Kuje prison and set hundreds of inmates free.
Villages had been sacked by bandits in Abaji, Kuje Kwali and Gwagwalada Area Councils forcing many farmers to abandon their farmlands.
Meanwhile, the federal government has directed principals of unity colleges across the country to liaise with security agencies within their jurisdictions in order to forestall any security breach in the schools.
It also ordered the immediate closure of the Federal Government College (FGC), Kwali, located at Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, gave the directives in a statement on Monday by the spokesman of the ministry, Ben Bem Goong.
Adamu said the closure became necessary following the security breach on Sheda and Lambata villages, suburbs of Kwali Area Council, which also threatened FGC, Kwali.
The minister said the timely intervention of security agencies saved the situation.
He also directed that arrangements be made for final year students to conclude their NECO examinations.
NBA 1st Vice President Expresses Concern As Nigeria Law School Schedules Call To Bar Ceremony For Wednesday, 27th July.
As the Management of the Nigerian Law School plans to hold the Call To Bar Ceremony for recent successful candidates on Wednesday, the 27th of July, the 1st VP of the Nigerian Bar Association has expressed worry over the safety of the students, management and guests as insecurity in the FCT hits a worrisome level.
The Ceremony which marks the formal licensing of successful bar candidates to practice law in Nigeria is scheduled to hold at the Multipurpose Hall of Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja at 11am prompt.
However, in a message on his facebook page sighted by The Nigeria Lawyer last night, the NBA 1st VP, John Aikpokpo-Martins called on the Body of Benchers to change the venue of the ceremony to the International Conference Centre which is perceived to be more secure following recent security breaches in the Bwari area which hosts the Law School.
He said: ” “The call to bar ceremony for new lawyers is next tomorrow in Bwari, Abuja.
In the light of all the happenings, can the Body of Benchers kindly change the venue of that ceremony to the International Conference Centre inside the city for the safety of all?”

Abiola happened to be the first Yoruba to play this politics of religion,he chose a Muslim deputy in the person of Kingibe, even though people voted him,he won but never ruled. God stopped him because he was trying to go against Christians.

Now Tinubu, another Yoruba is repeating same mistake, even if he wins,he won't rule. Same way God stopped MKO Abiola, He will stop Tinubu too. Infact the people have already stopped Tinubu.

It is pathetic that even core northern Muslims and Fulanis respect Christians more than Yoruba Muslims.

Are these musketeers Muslims?

Crime / Military Repels Bandits Attack On Military Base In Niger State. by ajumma(m): 12:15pm On Jul 19, 2022
Scores of bandits yesterday morning attempted to invade the military base in Sarkin pawa town in the Munya Local Government Area of Niger state but were repelled by soldiers according to reports from the area.

The Niger State Commissioner for Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Umar confirmed to newsmen that the “attack took place but there is no casualty on the part of the soldiers
“The bandits suffered heavy losses, but i am yet to get the number of people that were killed” Umar said before adding that the Brigade Commander confirmed the incident to him.
The Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Garba Mohammed, when also contacted confirmed the story, saying the terrorists invaded the camp on foot.
According to Mohammed, the terrorists demobilised the vehicles and motorcycles in the camp and started shouting Alahu Akbar before embarking on sporadic shooting
Mohammed confirmed that the soldiers did not suffer any casualty but that some shoes and caps belonging to the terrorists were seen on the ground in the camp, adding that “ We also saw many patches of blood on the ground”.
One of the Co- conveners of the Concerned Shiroro Youths, Comrade Salis Sabo, in a statement also confirmed the attack on the military base in Sarkinpawa.
In the statement Sabo said: “In the wee hours of today(yesterday) at exactly 2:15am, terrorists in an attempt to lay ambush on our security men, invaded the military camp in Sarkin Pawa, the headquarters of Munya Local Government of Niger State.
“Unfortunately for the terrorists, the gallant soldiers were on alert even at that late hours of the night.”
Sabo continued that: “The terrorists came in hundreds trying to dislodge the military base. The military engaged them in a gun duel which lasted for about two hours until the military called for reinforcement and successfully neutralised them.
“It took the military less than 30 minutes to arrive Sarkin Pawa from Minna in response to the distress call for reinforcement” Sabo said adding that “The energy and passion our security men are exerting recently in the fight against terrorists in our locality, is unprecedented and has restored hope in the minds of the people”.
According to him “ With the report at our disposal, there was no casualty recorded on the side of the military but there is strong indication that some terrorists were gunned down, although the number is yet to be ascertained”.
