The starting point is to find someone successful in trading, join apprenticeship.
High probability strategy is small part of the process.trading is much more than just good strategy.

Well I understand,those are the normal bait for the unawares but the truth in my own opinion is the fact that if you cannot scale evaluation process then,no evaluation mode will even be express to blow up.
If you check "no evaluation" process very well the split is something like 30/70,30% for the trade is very common for some platform.
The reality is you cannot push the risk away, apparently no evaluation is like being handicaped.

I think it better to allow consummate trader complete their test running and commission excerpt you really fancy synthetic instruments.
It may take a year or more before they find their stability.

I see two scenes here,for patterns guys,you will see a contracting shape like the mouth end of a megaphone (price breaking out to downside.
The second for Wave guys:
the first monowave(impulse) from 165.857 to 162.906 with retracement(corrective)@164.045
The third wave(impulse) ran from 164.045 to 159.417 with retracement @162.906.
I am waiting for another impulse wave that will push all the way to 157.892 at the minimum.

TRADE A TITHE HAVE AN EASY FIGHT
This is the only money management counsel I give to people trading their personal (not funded) account.
Trade a tithe (one tenth) of your account such that the market needs to go against you one thousand (1,000) pips before your account crashes/implodes.
For every $100 capital, trade 0.01 lot size
For every $200 capital, trade 0.02 lot size
For every $1,000 capital, trade 0.10 lot size
Stick with major currencies only (the best of them averages less than 150 pips per day).
Take only one position.
That's it!

It's all depends on personal preference for risk
but for me upward of 5K cos of the volatility.
XAU/AUD is better for lower accounts,it's less volatile with very stable clear patterns.
The major challenge with it is nonavailability of it on most broker's platform.

Then a book that has nothing to do with trading but discipline: The scores takes care of itself, Talent code(book),writings on an 18century Armed-Robber "Herman lahm" his attention to details is second to non (google).

Atleast good books written by traders can garranty you solid foundation on trading.
But it's not a garranty to success in trading.
It is far better if you can find a profitable and verifiable mentor and be an apprentice.
