@Olodostein,

Actually, I'm no economist by training but trust me, I've done extensive economics, however, I try not to associate my personal, educational and experience record with Nairaland.

Sorry for all the questions. If you can start analyzing ways in which we can transfer back our wealth into developing the South East into an economic hub. Start thinking bro Cool. I happen to find myself most times amongst a lot of businessmen of igbo extraction from Sabon Gari market in Kano to Trade fair in Lagos. And they are beginning to see CONCRETE reasons in relocating back home. They would need all the necessary information they can get.

I have once stated this before on few threads; development of an economic hub must come with vision, and through vision and passion, comes finance and money, and through money comes development, which increases consumption and later recycled back again. The ball starts with the leaders (not necessarily the govt) but visionary leader, it could be corporate, education, healthcare, whatever.

I once suggested that the SE can form what is called a "business consortium", this consortium will be responsible for a particular key development, for instance transportation. This consortium will set up what I thought should be called the South East Development Corporation. This Corp will have access to large pool of money both home and abroad, and I mean in hundreds of millions of $$$. This Corp oversee major infrastructural investment such as Medium or High Speed Rail Networks, Manufacturing Villages (out-of the box style model), port to airports to whatever it is that connect SE for the greater good.
this is it,nothing more,

Look we don't have to join with SS in the first place, not now, only the ones from anioma and asaba is allow.other tribe in SS can join any group they want,in rivers some can join too but not ikwere i cancel those ones, ndokis a lot of them live in anambra state i grew up with ndokis, and they love their igbo brothers.

May be after 4 yrs of separation,by then each region have settled down. Then we can have a common trade of commodities we can supply our own made brand new cars to them and on a good deal and they will supply us what they can offer, everybody then will see the real truth, who is deceiving who,if they want to mix with us proper is up to them.

If you ask them to join you now they will start thinking what other groups are telling them is the truth,so leave them, they always gonna be our neighbour no matter what,so with time they will reconsider and join the future japan of Africa,

Let them get nothing. They were the downfall of Biafra and the cause of over a million deaths on the Biafra and Nigerian side. They were the ones that caused thousands to starve to death because of the blockade. There shouldn't be any grudges right now between the Igbo and the "South south", but feeling sorry for them is a last option. Let everyone work out how to break this country into six and get on with recovering from the demonic Nigeria.
agree with you,but will other groups agree?
PoliticsRe: Asari Dokubo Leads Port Harcourt Protest: Wants Sovereign National Conference by ak47mann(m): 8:50pm On Jan 17, 2012
The way some groups attitude toward other groups in this union,i wonder how they will behave if they were the owner of the Niger delta oil? i swear i feel sorry for the rest of Nigeria. they will tell the world that they are feeding the rest of the country,i think that's why GOD only gave them (choco Milo and born-vita) they should use their brain as intellectual as they claimed,to manufacture petrol from cocoa the other group should use onions and tomato juice for petrol too
After all common Brazil drive their cars with oil extracted from corn   cool cool

PointB:
A very strange country!

Over 40 years ago. The good people of Niger Delta were deceived to believe that the Igbo they have lived with for many centuries were the enemies. They sold them a lie that Igbos were out the steal the oil and lands. The promised them heaven and earth to sabotage and betray the Biafra dream.

Today, many years later. The oil have been used to develop land far beyond the creeks; beyond the reach of the Niger Deltans. The lands that Igbos were supposed to steal have be degraded and destroyed will same oil; the waters of the creek dwellers is brackish with dead animal. The land and waters of Niger Delta has became a an ecological disaster.

It is will a travesty of justice, indeed an abomination if Niger Deltans do not have cities comparable to Abuja, by the time the oil dries up in the next 30 year or so.

Taking back the resources, from mismanagement by 'owners of Nigeria'  is long overdue. Niger Deltans and oil and other mineral producing communities/states  must take their destiny in their hands and damn the consequence. Time to act is now!

Occupy your resource, Nigerians!
GBAM!! i fell sorry for SS people, not all thou, cos some are still slow to realized how much they have been used and manipulated all for black gold!well they woke up earlier enough to fight and take back what belongs to them,b4 the oil dry let them get something too,i really feel for them embarassed they were used, but they can still change things to better if they are smart enough now they are in power, cos other groups are not happy with them,OBJ odi will be small thing when a Yoruba man take over,

still trying to figure this thing about ONE "NIGERIAAA"is it really a country?or just a big land full of different ethnics groups looking for their own pocket alone,if i cant live in the north why are we still one Nigeria?i doesn't make any constitutional sense,or is it the oil&gas that is joining them together?

Look if anyone call you a tribalist and that person is a Nigeria, run for your life,i see Nigeria like a big forest with a pack of wolves going around killing anything that is not from the same family,is madness

True federalism will solve a lot of problem or blow the sound of freedom and tell everybody to go home, some are tired of living in the same country with some groups cool cool
