I think Imo State is fairly developed at all corners. All the towns cannot be as large as Owerri but almost the entire federal roads in Imo State are better than the rest of the country. It is easily the most educated State in Nigeria as well as it has been leading in number of admissions and graduations for the past 30 years. The only thing we lack is industrialisation and commerce but I don't believe everywhere in Nigeria should be like Lagos.Abuja is what Imo State looks like.
bolded u lie there, IMO state indigence are well educated true but not the most educated state i dont think so anambra state have a lot of highly intellectual people, chinua Achebe  emeagwali, and many more,

PoliticsSoldiers Foil Boko Haram’s Fresh Bid To Bomb Abuja by ak47mann(op): 6:10pm On Oct 01, 2011
Written by Chris Agbambu, Abuja
Saturday, 01 October 2011

SECURITY operatives have foiled an attempt by about 920 suspected members of Boko Haram to infiltrate the federal capital, Abuja ostensibly to carry out the earlier threat by the group to bomb the city during today’s 51st Independence Anniversary celebration.

Saturday Tribune gathered that the operatives rounded them up, as they were trying to sneak into the city through different routes between the FCT and neighbouring Niger and Adamawa states.

The operation was reportedly carried out by the operatives of Military Intelligence and Brigade of Guards, with the suspects comprising mostly Nigerians, Sudanese and Chadians.

It is recalled that the nation was thrown into mourning on October 1, 2010 following the bombing of the Eagle Square, the venue of Nigeria’s golden jubilee celebrations.

It was gathered that the foreigners were obviously on a mischief mission, as they could not explain to security agencies what they were coming into Abuja to do.

The sources said that several arms and ammunition, including AK 47 rifles were recovered from the suspects who had been grilled towards providing some useful information that could assist security operatives while the suspects have been interrogated and relevant information collected from them which led the security agencies into unmasking those behind recent bombings in Abuja and some other parts of the country.

According to the sources, the operatives are working round the clock to arrest more suspects in Suleija in Niger State and in Nasarawa State, said to be the suspected hideouts of a few Boko Haram members in hiding.

Investigations revealed that most of the suspects arrested had been distributed into various cells of the security agencies where vital information are being collated as the government has not taken chances to ensure that the sect did not make good its threat on October 1.

The source said, most of the suspects would be repatriated to their home countries after interrogation for prosecution while those who are Nigerians will face justice in the country.

Towards this end, following the arrest of the aliens, the Federal Government has reportedly directed the Nigerian Immigration Service to be fully on the alert as most of the suspects would be deported this weekend. Also, all the security agencies in the FCT have to carry out 24 hour security checks because of the separate threats by Boko Haram and MEND on key installations in Abuja.

Security from the boundary of Kogi State and FCT has been stationed, while the operatives searched vehicle booths and engines thoroughly.

The problem with some governors they don't have the liver to sign death sentence into law, look their is nothing wrong from passing judgement on man with innocent blood in his hand i believe one thing in life live and let live life is precious to everyone so if any body here lost their family member from kidnappers then they can relate to me.If i am rochas i will sign the death sentence into law by that way i will encourage other governors to do so to reduce kidnapping in  their respective states, don't forget that people have lost touch with reality in Nigeria we still got mind of getting away with anything which they are right cos our judiciary system had collapsed.
PoliticsNigeria To Benefit From New Hiv/aids Vaccine by ak47mann(op): 7:56pm On Sep 30, 2011
LAGOS – Nigeria will be the first African country to access the benefit of a new protective vaccine that will stop people from developing the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, AIDS as indication yesterday emerged that Cornell Micheal Nelson, one of the scientists who discovered the vaccine will be in Nigeria next month.

In a telephone chat with Vanguard, Director General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, Professor John Idoko disclosed that Cornell Micheal Nelson, will be in Nigeria by October 12, to attend a symposium, where he would be presenting a keynote addrees on the newly discovered vaccine.

The choice of Nigeria for this landmark event, is not unconnected with the country’s large population and notable contribution to the fight against the HIV virus. With the discovery of the vaccine, the world may be on the verge of finally overcoming the threat posed by HIV and AIDS.

However, indications from the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, NIMR, revealed that Nigerian Scientists are excited over the vaccine which shows great potential to reduce the burden of HIV across the world.

According to former Director General of NIMR, Prof. Oni Idigbe, all is set for the symposium which would address other areas of the discovery.

Before now, various type of vaccines have been discovered in the past but none has shown great potential like the present vaccine discovered in Thailand.

According to the researchers, the AIDS vaccine could cut down the risk of developing the disease by a third.

Already, scientists across the world have hailed the breakthrough, saying it could be the first step to even better protection.

The new vaccine which works by stimulating the immune system — is a combination of two previous treatments which had proved ineffective when used alone.

It was tested on 8,000 HIV negative male and female volunteers aged 18 to 30 in Thailand.

They were checked for infection every six months. The results found that the chances of catching HIV were almost 32 per cent lower if a person had been given the vaccine rather than a dummy injection.

The breakthrough — funded by the US Military HIV Research Program and the Thai Ministry of Public Health — is regarded as a first step towards an effective vaccine against AIDS, which hits two million people a year.

Prof Aine McKnight, a viral expert from the University of London, said: For a quarter of a century the scientific community has been divided on whether a vaccine against HIV could be produced.

“Today that question is settled. This is exciting news, but the battle is far from won.”

A spokesman from the World Health Organisation said: “The results are the first demonstration that a vaccine can prevent infection and are of great importance.

“These results have instilled new hope in the HIV vaccine research field and promise that a safe and highly effective HIV vaccine may become available for populations throughout the world.”

The scientists, however advised that for now, the best protection remains Being Intimate with a condom.

I wonder why your grandfathers stopped them from leaving when they wanted to leave more than 30 years ago? So you are 30+ years late in your desire to see them leave now. Igbos will stay put wherever they are in Nigeria but should henceforth maintain only minimal economic presence in those areas. They should repatriate their investments back to Igboland and maintain only a skeletal presence wherever they decide to reside in Nigeria. Shey na one Nigeria? Una go see pepper. Igbos will eat their cake and have it; you guys wont.

Lol! You're not to busy to fly around telling lies though! Why can't you count the dams and their output to support your foolish tales na?
Dunce.

There is no single dam that supplies as much power as Egbin which is gas powered. In fact, if you add up all the dams they will barely match Egbin alone, not to talk of the other numerous gas powered plants.
How can you come here to tell porkies? You think you're talking to your agoyin beans seller? Lol! Your head is full of akara and water thats why you can't think properly. Olodo.
