Smokeee:Is this not what we refer to a ghostupdate on this thread? If that is the case, congrats your PPR is near.. ![]() |
I am not usually an active contributor on this thread. I doff my hat for you guys that contribute regularly here. E no easy. But we need to be able to separate facts/rules/laws from opinions. I realize that most of what we say here comes from our individual experiences. Everyone must realize that all applications are unique. The only thing similar to all applications is the rules. Applicants must show how they uniquely satisfy the rules. Guys I assume that there are no Canadian visa officers contributing to this thread ( I may be wrong). So please unless you are stating a rule explicitly, always add a disclaimer so that the person reading your comment realizes that this is just your opinion. Always remember that what happened to Mr A does not automatically happen to Mr B in the same situation. And to those making decisions based solely on comments from a faceless forum, please just stop it. The data on this thread is priceless but you have to analyze this data before it becomes useful for your own application. Always realize that you are responsible for your application. I don speak too much grammar today. Abeg make una no chop me raw oo. Na just say I read stuff here wey fit land person for wahala if used wrongly and this na Naija where all man dey find way to circumvent rules. |
JonJon2017:Bros High BP no be disease na condition. So long as there is no protein in your urine and you pass an EKG/ECG then you should be fine. Also you need to show that you are taking medication to control it. This no be medical advice oo. If you want medical advice visit your nearest doctor and stay away from Nairaland lol. For Canada hustle High BP no be issue unless there is kidney involvement. |
henryuzor:Chairman sir, I think you should modify this small. If I dey read letter wey start with this sentence then my opinion is that there is something that is hiding somewhere that needs to be found Use as few words as possible to pass the message. Example: My spouse is not accompanying because she has commitments here which will not allow her to go at this time. But man you need to do what you feel is right oo. No go talk say na me say make you do like this oo afterall all of us here na Canada hustle we dey oo |
maternal:Well there were a number of reasons but primarily the accommodation cost. We needed to get a relatively large place at a good price. The prices in Toronto no be beans. Also we get short term and long term plans to set up business and I been hear say Alberta dey very conducive for new business and start ups. |
blessings2017:She used Canada post. For international deliveries Canada post uses FedEx. Cost about 110CAD. She added some other small things and wrapped it well. |
Silent reader landing gist PPR gist has already been given on the express entry thread. COPR came approximately 10 days after passport were sent to the VFS guys (middle February). TRV that came with the PPR was valid until April 4th so we had to plan for a quick landing. We decided to land in Calgary in the middle of March 2018 ( cold dey that time oo ). Flew Lufthansa so had to do a stop over in Frankfurt and then the flight to Calgary. Food on the flight was okay but know say them no serve iyan with efo oo. Na pasta them serve oo. Plenty of drinks served on request ( wine, juice etal dey but no rose oo. Maybe the guys in the first class get rose but me no know )Anyways we arrived YYC by 15.55 Calgary time (no forget say time difference of 7hrs dey oo) so we had effectively been travelling for 24hrs. Luckily the kids were relatively well behaved. The two smallest kids slept well on the flight and in the airport ( waiting times). The oldest dey form strong man and refused to sleep. By the time the jet lag hit the guy ehh person no need tell am to arrange himself lol There was a relatively long line in immigration so we had to wait for sometime. If we had known one person would have gone to the landing desk and taken a number, but as JJC na we wan do all step by step. Immigration stamped us in and sent us to the area for landing PR's. We had to wait a couple of hours there as people many ( I spied about 2 naija families as well). The lady that attended to us asked if we had any goods to follow but we said no. She was now telling us about Calgary and their Chinook. Me was just nodding my head like mumu. I no even ask her wetin be Chinook lol. She was kind enough to allow me do all the documentation while my wife stayed with the little ones sleeping. Just had to call my wife to sign her own COPR. I signed for the kids. The lady asked for our address in Calgary so that they could send the PR cards there..We had already rented a town house in Calgary so I just gave her that address. She did not ask anything about available funds.I asked the lady if we could get SIN at the airport and she said NO. She said we had to go to a Service Canada office to get that. From the airport we took a maxi taxi to the house. Cost about 50CAD with tip included. The landlord was waiting for us in the house and handed over the keys. House was already furnished so we had a bed and everything necessary. We rented the house through rentfaster.ca. I had to pay the first and last months rent when we met up with the landlord. Anyways 30 minutes after arriving all man wan kpai of hungry . Nothing to cook. But we sha survived that night. The next day a friend took me to a car rental place. I was able to rent a full size car for 985CAd for one month. That same day we went to the Service Canada office and sorted out SIN numbers. We also went to the RBC nearby the house and got our accounts. We went to Walmart close buy and bought stuff for chopping. The following Monday my wife now went to attempt the driving knowledge test. She missed the pass mark by one point lol. Anyways, we went back the next day and she passed in flying colours (all she needed to take the exam was a proof of address in Calgary. We had a lease agreement so she used that). For me I had to go back ( work things) so I did not bother with changing my license just yet. We also went to the registry to register for Alberta health insurance. Please check the details correctly as the registry guys can make mistakes in things like name and address. This will delay your health card. In our case they missed one digit on the address and other small mistakes. We also had to get the little one enrolled in school. It was surprisingly straight forward to get this done and luckily there was a space for him to start kindergarten immediately. He started school a few days after we landed. So I was in Calgary for approx. one month an then had to go back to continue my work. My wife got my PR card and sent it to me by courier. Surprisingly only my PR card came ( as if they knew I would need it ) . My wife and kids have not got theirs till now ( hope there is nothing to worry about). Called IRCC in June but it seems that the cards take a while ( don't ask me how the did mine in a short time oo cos I no know) Signing out folks. Abeg no comment my spelling and grammar oo English no be my native language oo na learn I learn am ooo |
Make I first appreciate the guys for this thread. Una too much sha. Me na silent reader ooo. But I just say make I comot from ghostmode to yarn small about this our IELTS writing. Wahala dey for this our writing ooo.I believe that writing is the most tasking part of the IELTS exam. In my opinion sha there are some issues with our writing. 1.Spelling- this one no need further explanation. Since we start to use messenger the thing don reach alarming level. Me sef wey dey yarn this yarn I sure say my spelling na F9. 2.Over writing- abeg if them say 250 words try limit am to max 260. Over writing shows the limits of the candidates vocabulary. There is a reason why word count limits are imposed. E no be because BC no get paper to give us or say them no get capacity to mark am ooo lol. 3. Limited vocabulary - leads to repeating the same words and hence over writing. Person wey get beta vocabs fit use one word explain something wey another person go use 10 words explain remain. Appropriate use of vocabs is the difference between band 7.5 and band 8 in IELTS writing oo 4. Under writing - similar to point 2. if them say 250 words abeg no write 200 and say e don do oo. Try make sure say you reach 255. And no go fill the paper with the same words just to meet the word count ooo. 5. Poor paragraphing- o girl the rules to paragraphing plenty oo. To illustrate this make we just go any of our popular blogs and see the thrash wey them dey write as stories ( bloggers no come kpai me oo na joke I dey oo) 6.Poor essay structure - This one mean say the essay no get structure ie person no dey know where the essay start or where the middle of the essay be. Most time na just collection of words wey we dey present as essay. This is related to item 5 7. Off point - No need to explain this. We as a nation too like to yarn opata 8. No topic sentences - Goes back to item 5. Every paragraph must have a properly located topic sentence. 9. Punctuation - Person no fit talk too much about this. A rogue comma can change the meaning of a sentence completely. For this our Nairaland sef e be like say punctuation marks dey on holiday lol. Me sef dey guilty oo so make una no shoot me abeg. 10. Capitalization - person need to know the rules to follow. Make I stop to yarn now before I go fall my hand with over writing lol. Just my 2 cents sha |
test69740:I think it depends on your situation. If you got married after COPR then I believe you will have to sponsor your wife as she was not part of your PR application. |
Qc1:Not correct. Please check your facts properly |
jelmusboy:I believe that you will need to get a passport for your baby. Unless you have a government issued ID card for your baby (which is usually just another name for a passport). Regarding the PCC, you can easily convert JPEG to pdf. You can then merge the pdf files. |
EgunMogaji:It is really a shame. Bloggers no g kill us with fabricated stories. Fake news everywhere. There is no way this cut was made with a cutlass. This is clearly something that has been done to attract views and comments. |
Kmgb:I reapplied in July 17 and got it approved in Jan 18. Took 6 months - LVO things lol.. |
Kmgb:I had an application cancelled because of missing pcc. I had to reapply and got PPR in Jan. |
Bello321:It was a PCC issue. |
Newmum0615:I no fit dey dramatic about am oo. This has been a very challenging process and I am very grateful to God that we have reached this stage. Timeline: First ITA - Feb 2017 First Application AOR - April 2017 Application cancelled- June 2017 New ITA - July 2017 AOR- July 2017 Med passed - July 2017 IPI- July 2017 Transfer to London - Sept/Oct 2017 RPRF request - Jan 2018 IP2 - Jan 2018 PPR- Today |
I am pleased to say its PPR.. |
Abeg people in the house for someone outside naija to get police clearance certificate from naija do the finger prints section of the form need to be notarized? Or can I just take the prints myself and send it to naija? |
Adiahabasi:No, I did not go to Alagbon close. I filled the form, did the prints and sent it to someone to get it done. The person went to Alagbon and did it. Is there anything else I should have done? please enlighten me oo. |
XX01:what is the right format for pcc? Any special way to upload the ? No be to merge the pcc in PDF? Abi another way dey to do am? |
freeradical:I feel you my guy. I have paused ordered GCMS notes and read them. Nothing strange in the notes other than naija police certificate. I have looked at other naija pc that were accepted and my own looks correct. So I don't need to over think this thing. Dem say the wahala na naija pc. So I make a new pc and firedown. These things happen in life bros. Only become a problem when you over dwell on it. My 20kobo bro (lol) |
Ehrnie:Did all that. Well c'est la vie. I will do the same this time and just pray that all goes well. |
Onlineise:Well I read the GCMS notes and al they said is that the police certificate from naija did not meet R10 requirements. "File does not meet r10 requirements" That is exactly what they said in the notes. What are the R10 requirements? does anybody know? |
People, for the naija police report am I supposed to upload just the pink certificate or do I need to add the finger print section? I had issues with this certificate in my former application so I need to get it right this time. I uploaded the entire thing the last time and CIC rejected it. Also is the expiry date an issue (3 months) if you live outside naija? |
Na the same plane ooo but man if you fly first class once you no go ever wan fly economy again. My own rule is that for flights that are less than 3 hours there is no difference but for flights more than 3 hours the difference is worth the price difference. A trial will convince you |
deeore:Hmm, seems this is a bigger problem than i realised. I had the same issue recently. This time it was a police certificate from Nigeria which i am sure i submitted. Well, no use crying over spilt milk. Just accept it an move forward like i did. Jump back into the pool immediately!! |
Ehrnie:I feel bad but I believe this is a mistake. I uploaded all the PCCS as a single PDF file. I will send them a message and see what they say. Thanks |
Blackbuddy:How do I write to them? Do I send it as a case specific enquiry? |
Gurus in the house please assist ooo, I just got a notification that my PR application was canceled as incomplete due to a missing police certificate from Nigeria. I submitted this police certificate along with other police certificates. What can I do about this? I do not know how they can cancel the application even when the police certificate was present there. |
Anybody get medical request from CIC even after submitting upfront medical? I saw a medical request in my profile today (but I had earlier submitted an up front medical). Is this normal? |
Does anyone here know if they have been released/discharged? How do I make sure this is not a scam / obtaining by tricks? |
