The need for gender equality in our society calls for collaborative efforts from both men and even women themselves. Its obvious that alot of women are still myopic in their views concerning their rightful place in the society as they still believe that their primary constituency will forever remain the kitchen and rearing of children.some of the barriers or walls against gender equality are self imposed by the women folk. Some find more pleasure in child bearing than working while entirely depending on the man for their daily oxygen. Hence they are oblivious that a progressive and peaceful family hinges on cooperation and contributory system. In fact it is a scratch my back and i will scratch your back situation. Rainy day is imminent. Gone are the days when parents didnt realise the importance of female education. |

This is no new nor sensitive information 1.We have had several Isis styled attacks in this country. 2.Isis attack in France did not record the number of casualty like some of Boko Haram's attacks in some parts of the country. Infact, some of the attacks we have witnessed here make a mere child's play of what happened in France last week. 3.Boko Haram is an extension of Isis as it once pledged allegiance to the terrorist group. The declaration was a mere formality reason being that they were alredy working together before then. Nevertheless, the war against terrorism should be taken to the next level. |

Nigeria has the most lethal terrorist attacks in the world, according to the 2015 Global Terrorism Index. The index is produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace based on data from the Global Terrorism Database, which is collected and collated by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism. The GTD is considered to be the most comprehensive dataset on terrorist activity globally and has codified over 140,000 terrorist incidents. According to the report, Iraq had 25 per cent of all terrorist incidents, followed by Pakistan with 14 per cent and Afghanistan with 12 per cent. Nigeria reportedly experienced only five per cent of the incidents but had the second highest number of deaths at 23 per cent. “Terrorist attacks are much more lethal in Nigeria than any other country. On average there were 11 deaths per attack in Nigeria. In contrast, Iraq had an average of three deaths per attack. “The 2015 Global Terrorism Index highlights that terrorism continues to rise. The total number of deaths from terrorism in 2014 reached 32,685, constituting an 80 per cent increase from 18,111 the previous year. “This is the highest level ever recorded. The significant majority of these deaths, over 78 per cent, occurred in just five countries; Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria,” the report read. http://punchng.com/mtn-globacom-etisalat-violate-line-porting-time-ncc/ |

News emerging this morning reveals that the mother of current head coach of Nigeria’s U-23 football team, Samson Siasia has been kidnapped. According to reports, gunmen stormed the family residence of the Siasia’s in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Odoni community of Sagama Local Council Area of Bayelsa State and forcefully whisked away Siasia’s mother on a motorcycle. File: Siasia confused Bayelsa State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Ansinim Butswat, has confirmed the incident saying that the matter has been reported, but details were still sketchy. Speaking to the media on the incident, a distraught Siasia has expressed his confusion at the occurrence of the event. Siasia said: “Right now I am confused, from the story I got, three men on motorbike stormed my parents’ house in my village Odoni in Bayelsa State, shot sporadically into the air before taking my old mother away on a bike. “What do they expect from me? I don’t have money, I am right now on national duty, and need all the time to concentrate on this very important national task. So, I beg them to please release my mother so that I can concentrate on this task of qualifying the U-23 National Team for the men’s football event of the Rio Olympics.” In a statement released on the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) website, NFF president, Amaju Pinnick has appealed to the kidnappers to release the 72 year old mother of the coach. “This is quite disturbing. We are just preparing for a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, and the U-23 boys are already in The Gambia for a pre-Cup of Nationstraining camp. Why this? “All we can do is to appeal to the kidnappers to free Samson Siasia’s aged mother. Samson is on a critical national assignment presently and the last he needs is this kind of distraction,” Said Pinnick. As at the time of this report, it was revealed that the kidnappers are yet to demand ransom from the family. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/samson-siasias-mother-kidnapped/ |

femiranking28:What makes you u think she is bn foolish by wanting to bleach her skin? Im afraid that really depicts the level of ur reasoning and inability to respect the opinion of others. Besides u failed to give one reason or the oda for quoting her wrong thereby reinforcing this impression I have in my mind that u never read between lines before commenting. Goosh! Much of what we post here aint worth reading as they go a long way in showing the world how over-sentimental we are |

I tot there were their real pix until i came across the word"superimposed" Transgender is still a strange word in our ear down here in Africa and a newly coined word that will find its way into our dictionary. Although much of our ways of life have bn eroded and replaced by Western cultures we are still Africans and homosexuality shall never be a part of us |

I believe that I'm not the only witness to what always happens during deliverance sessions and altar calls in our pentecostal churches .Its quite obvious that our sisters in the Lord tend to fall under the anointing more than the brothers. Are the sisters better christians than than us or is the holy spirit gender conscious? I am not in anyway trying to downplay God's power to make both sex have the same level of susceptibility when it comes to falling under the anointing. However, I am baffled and bent on getting some explanations. Brethrens lets reason together. |
