Can't go wong with some FULL HD eyebrows and some melon jugs |
purplekayc:yeah, fraps is garbage at game capture. |
purplekayc:I get the "cannot establish connection with the update server" error too but it still works for me. You should find one that support GPU acceleration so you use the GPU to encode, less stress on the CPU. Bandicam supports AMP APP, there's got to be one that supports CUDA..compression fidelity is usually better that way.
|
purplekayc:Vulkan is a graphics API though so isn't constrained by the motherboard. I don't think there's Vulkan support for the GTX 780 as that Nvidia's 'Kepler' architecture but I might be wrong. You seem to be using MSI afterburner already. I've linked a video but for some reason I can't get my sound to work. Hope it helps. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5gP1lXvmMe5ZkUyUkFJQUY4MVE edit: I found BandiCam better at recording gameplay...still experimenting with it. KazukiIto:Have you tried running the previous BIOS version to see if it'll downgrade? |
KazukiIto:Flash the BIOS to the previous version. I assume you got it from here?
|
Singapore1:Or could it be because you are using the mobile version. Here's my AdobeCC
|
KazukiIto:You need to enter the BIOS setup to change the value. With Acer laptops, during booting, keep pressing F2 key to enter BIOS settings. What you should be looking for is Graphic Configuration or similar. Without seeing your laptop I can't tell which tab it'll be under but if you get stuck and you can send some photos that'll be helpful. |
Singapore1:There's support for OpenCL, however some require GPUs from AMDs FirePro series to unlock certain features within the software. I know Maya, Solidworks(which i use) support OpenCL. I've usedSony Vegas Pro/AdobePremiere CC and that supports OpenCL. What software do you use? |
Gunbiz:YUP
|
Singapore1:OpenCL isn't that bad on AMD cards though..Does the 3D animation software you use support both OpenCL and CUDA? |
Title: Mount & Blade : Warband Resolution: 1280x720 Genre: Action,RPG Comments: Image quality for this game was Med-High and averaged 34FPS. This is possible because game uses the Direct 9 API, a tool used until 2008 so it's not demanding on the iGPU. Intel HD link -https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5gP1lXvmMe5QVQxanJoREcxbG8

Title: League of Legends Resolution: 1280x720 Genre: Strategy Comments: With an average of 34FPS it's playable. However combat scenes see a lower average so might be worth turning down resolution and/or image quality.

LucemFerre:....(insert Frozen soundtrack here) |
Singapore1:Any from the ones you have. |
Singapore1:That's solid...sounds like its well built...heat dissipation is always an issue but looks like they've nailed it on the M4800. Do you play online? |
Singapore1:Only synthetic benchmarking software like 3DMark Firestrike, Unigine Valley/Unigine Heaven will keep your GPU locked at 100% utilization, but keep an eye on your temps when you do so. Yes o, I went with AMD, now you see why I have a keen interest in your laptop lol From the games you mentioned, Witcher 3, AssCreed:Syndicate, Crysis 3, Ryse are demanding games..I've got them too |
Lana1:I OC my CPU from the motherboard BIOS manually. My GPU has 2 different BIOS (which I can activate with a toggle switch) one is the factory setting and the other has a modified BIOS which unlocks the core voltages. MSI afterburner can only unlock 0.1V(100mV) for both the core and memory and for high GPU overclocks I need over 0.2V which I get with a modified Asus GPU tweak software which allows me to use 1.35V from 1.1V. |

Title: Divinity:Original Sin Resolution: 800x600 Genre: Turn-based strategy Comments: Avg framerate was low so wasn't playable. Intel HD link - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5gP1lXvmMe5QVQxanJoREcxbG8

Singapore1:What games do you have installed? |
Singapore1:Noooice 16GB total. What titles have you tried that have exceeded your expectations? |
purplekayc:I didn't link any sites though lol. I've now been unbanned and my comment shown |
purplekayc:Oh I use quite a few, which ever suits me best Temps&FPS MSI Afterburner NZXT CAM Temps only GPU-Z openhardwaremonitor SpeedFan FPS only Fraps |
Singapore1:Nice one...workstation grade laptops are optimised for CAD and 3D software that's all. Wow the R9! The enthusiast level...you must be enjoying the performance of your laptop...they aren't cheap though. What did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking? |
purplekayc:For now yes, DX12/Vulkan are newly implemented API's, it needs time to grow. |
Lana1:I think the setup is ideal for racing simulators and not first person shooter though. It's certainly better to play FPS on one screen so you see all corners of game windows like you mean. If you remember the guy who put up a link of pro CS:GO players, their game window resolutions were even smaller as that both reduces input lag and easier to see all corners of the game window. But think someone who streams live gaming content. They can run the game on one monitor, have chat software, skype, google chat etc with their followers on another and another to monitor the quality of the stream content...this can also be beneficial for someone who is in media content creation. 'Real estate' will increase productivity. |
Singapore1:Which M200 is it R5,R7 or R9? |
Singapore1:Ah! Now I understand the workstation grade laptop ![]() |
purplekayc:I like both DX12 and Vulkan as they bring performance gains on both camps(Nvidia & AMD). The main difference is Vulkan is cross platform (just like OpenGL is) it'll run on Linux, Mac, Windows, Android etc, whereas DX12 only works with Windows 10. AMD GPU's with the GCN 1.1 architecture and greater are seeing the biggest jumps in performance in DOOM as id software released a Vulkan patch where AMDs 'Bonaire' and 'Hawaii' chips (2012/2013) have significant gains but Nvidia lastest cards GTX1000 series getting lower gains. Ashes of the Singularity a DX12 title has also seen older gen AMD cards perform much better. Hence for my next test card it going to be the R9 380(GCN 1.2) instead of a GTX 960 first |
D3l:With the settings I've used my average is greater than 60fps. Hence why thread title is achieving 60+..If I notice a drop in framerate below 60fps in the titles I've tried..I lower some image quality settings ![]() Auto saves and cut scenes aren't really part of the game-play so I'd disregard that. FRAPS does the averaging for me. edit: Batman game play from beginning till when Ivy is dropped off at police station Min 38 (cut scenes default to 30fps) Max 92 Avg 77.4 Tomb raider from beginnning to first save point Min 38 Max 662 Avg 77.18 FRAPS LOG - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5gP1lXvmMe5VlJzd0xLcnNFVTQ |
Singapore1:Are you into 3D rendering/animation? |
