That said, CP's are assumed to be relatively safe as the only safer short term debt alternative to it is TB. Also, the arrangers ( The Merchant Bank and Co) marketing it to customers will do their own due diligence to some extent in order not to hurt their brand name. However, the most important due diligence is still your own. The company reports are most times sent with the advert, your can also make your enquiry by searching the web for the outcome of the previous issue of whatever CPs it you intend to invest in etc before making the call.

The issue is that the government cannot afford to subsidise fuel anymore.
The corruption around subsidy including the fuel price arbritrage shenanigans was a small price to pay when maintaining fuel subsidy was a priority to the government.

The real thing to be concerned about is that the government is so broke, its actually taking drastic steps to combat inefficiencies.

My experience getting my Nigerian passport DIY for my daughter. I paid for the passport online 21st July . I picked 29th july 2024 as the capture date. Honestly everything was seamless. I didn’t take more than 50mins she had been captured. Now I kept monitoring online or expecting a call but I didn’t. I gave it 6 weeks because I didn’t want to go and they tell me it’s not ready. I reached out to friends I saw on that same day and they told me theirs was ready 2 weeks after and it was DIY. I checked online and it still showed passport production in process. I decided to go there myself and lo and behold the passport had been produced and ready for pick up since 13th of august. I’d advise everyone to first do it yourself , then after 2-3 weeks go there yourself to check cause chances are that it is ready.

I have other set of TILER’s who usually collected 50 cent per meter

But one thing about his work is that NO MATTER how you perfect your toilet / kitchen wall plaster he will not be ok with it he will plaster it again to his own supper accurate gauge to give precision finishing BUT still same price, he doesn’t charge for this plastering separate.
So the best thing is NOT to plaster your wall if you are engaging him for tiling work.

Please is secondary market interest not paid upfront like primary market?

I sent mail to stanbic customer care to buy 182 days treasury bills.

I got a call this morning from them that their bid failed and asked if I would like to buy secondary market. I said okay.

This evening, I got two debit alerts, all from my available balance. One was for sage keeping and another for transaction fee.

But up to now, they've not credited my interest. Is that how it works for secondary market?

I'm kinda stuck investing my USD funds with my bank in like a fixed deposit at 6% with very heavy penalty (80%) if terminated prematurely.
