WEIRDPC: Why would you want to go so soon?
Do you have any valid reason? something good enough to convince the Border officer.
In my own opinion, you won't be allowed at the point of entry.
I wouldn't even want to go that early considering the cost. You can not use your study permit to work till school resumes also.
2 months to acclimatize with the weather or environment is not good enough reason OK... Thanks |

DRiches: Hey bro Congratulations on your visa approval.
Am a silent reader, but I just have to register in order to asking you a question because am more in the same situation as you were some months ago before you applied for your permit.
I could see that, you once had an hard time to provide documents to prove the source of income of your sponsors as you said your Dad's business is not registered. But there's CAC and other business documentation in the list of documents you said you submitted. Please, did your sponsor eventually got his business registered before you submitted? How did you do it?
Please, I would be very happy if you can enlighten me on this because am planning to submit my application, but this evidence of source of income is really giving me problem as I don't know if my sponsor can just get his business registered now because of this application. Will this be acceptable. Will I not be questioned that my sponsor business is a newly registered business because of visa application?
Your response will be highly appreciated, and it will help me and others in the same situation.
Thanks. OK. I was not able to get Certificate of registration for my dad's company due to the time constraint. I use Certificate of business registration of my grandfather's company and also got a letter of introduction from my grandfather's company stating my dad is a partner. |

WEIRDPC: About the home tie, I will be sharing an excerpt from a recent frankrobben's post,
"FAMILY TIES IN CANADA OR HOME COUNTRYProspective travellers who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before beinggiven the visa. Note that the full statement is “family in Canada OR family in your home country”. So its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. This is what you do :Show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home?
1-) Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind?
2-) Do you have elderly parents who depend on you?
3-) Do you own businesses/property that you need to continue managing?
4-) Do you have adequate funds?
5-) Do you have family members whom are not accompanying youto Canada? All these mentioned are HOME TIES, so if you have any of the following listed, endeavor to show evidence to each of them and make sure you add it to your application"
Also, if you have a job in Nigeria, you can show proof.
Lastly, about the name issue, personally, I do not think it will be an issue, but if you want to do something about it, You can do any of the following ; 1. Do an affidavit to state the spelling error. 2. Write a short letter to explain the spelling error 3. Get a new letter of introduction with the correct name.
Best wishes Thanks |

Hi there is a mistake in the "name" in the letter of introduction. Just a single letter. Letter N instead of M. please what can i do about it?
I can't get another one but it is going to take time and I do not want to be late in submitting my application. Should i leave it alone? or what can I do.
Also about home ties. I do not have anything to prove strong home ties. Please can you examples. NB. Program is one year.

jnyuwa02: Submit the bank statement you have and explain the sources of your parent's income. Perhaps they are business people dealing in various goods and services. VOs understand the downside of African economy where not everything comes from full time documented employment. As far you explain to them that your parents are not employed in the traditional way, but are business people who wheel and deal in goods or services, you will be fine. No one rule fits all. Submit only what you have and give full explanation. It's like people who are paid in cash only at their work and have no matching bank statement to show where the paid income is paid into. Should you loose any sleep over it? No! Just submit the payslip where it says you are paid in cash and give explanation that that it is the modus operandi of the business to pay in cash. That is all. Submit any CAC certificate of that business and letter of employment and the bank statement of whoever is sponsoring you. Support that with an inspirational SOP of your plans in Canada, why you are not studying your program in Nigeria and decided to go the difficult and expensive way of going to Canada. And give a concrete plan or agenda of what you intend to do with your education after you return back to Nigeria. You should be fine with this. thanks |

sewaaa: Which university did you end up applying to. I already checked the fees out.its ridiculously expensive. I was talking to my brother and he suggested I apply for permanent residency cos the fees are cheaper that way. Since I'm applying for September batch, he says I still have time to process it. What do you think? edited: I did not apply to any university at the end of the day. i just go for pgd. You can also check out university of ontario institute of technology. They offer a masters program in Information Technology security. Yes. The fees are cheaper for permanent residency. Whatever you do make sure you do it early because there may be delays or something. I don't know anything the process of getting permanent residency. you can ask others members of the group |

justwise: Ok let me put it this way.. how do your parents make their money? Are they running a business or earning salaries?
Its very important that you present evidence to proof the source of your parents money, you can not explain it in paper without evidence to submit your claim. OK. I understand what you mean now. My dad have got a business, but it is not registered. My mum works in saudi arabia, but i can only able to get her bank statements. her original employment letter is hard to get as she is not presently there. @justwise i was thinking there is a way to circumvent this. thanks once again |

Hi, I don't have evidence for this
Financial document/source of income and proof of relationship
If you sponsor is a working class then the following: - Employment letter of sponsor, 6 months Pay-slip, work Id and Introductory letter if possible. - 6 months bank statement of the sponsor with adequate funds and a reference letter attached to it by the bank (bank letter head, signed and stamped). - Any asset of the sponsor e.g Land documents but in some cases if not available, don't worry - Sponsors may be self/father/mother/brother/sister/uncle/cousin/inlaw/wife/husband. The idea of family friend I can't guarantee anyone.
If you sponsor is a business man/woman/person/self-sponsor entrepreneur then the following: - 6 months bank statement of a sponsor with adequate funds and a reference letter attached to it by the bank (on bank letter head, signed and stamped). - CAC documents/certificate of registration, tax clearance certificate(s), if the already mentioned is not available, invoices, transaction receipts and rent receipts can play here to prove sources of income. - Land documents if available. I do have bank statements but i don't have evidence of parents income or emplyment. also, my parents don't own a business or part of a business. Please what is the solution out. Thanks @jnyuwa02 @weirdpc @justwise |
