Reverend Berry Dambaza, a senior Zimbabwean pastor with Upper Room Ministries died on Monday, September 23, after committing suicide by jumping from the third floor of Rezende Parkade in Harare.

Pastor Dambaza reportedly died on the spot. While details surrounding his sudden death is unknown, there are speculation that he had financial problems as well as infidelity issues.

Confirming the incident, National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “We can confirm that a church pastor allegedly jumped from the last floor of Rezende Parkade and died.

“We are currently investigating the case to establish the motive or the reasons behind this suicide,” he said. According to iharare, he is said to have left a suicide note indicating abuse of funds.

A popular book seller in Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), Calabar Campus was found dead close to Hall 2 on Saturday morning, September, 21.

The deceased identified as Godwin and popularly known by many as “Mourinho”, sold stationeries in front of the hostel and was found dead in front of the shop where he keeps his goods.

Barely three days after a girl was strangled to death inside a hotel room in Rivers State, another has been killed in the same manner. The latest incident happened on Monday night and the body of the victim was discovered on Tuesday morning, inside the room of the hotel located along Stadium Rd, Rumuomasi, Port Harcourt. .

This time around, the man suspected to be the killer was captured by the hotel’s CCTV. According to the video, currently being analyzed by the police, the duo checked in around 11:30pm on Monday.

However, the alleged suspect left alone the following day. The lady was later found tied up and strangled after the suspected serial killer had already left. The Rivers State police are currently handling the situation.

The Lagos state police command has arrested 23-year-old Stella Peters for stabbing her husband, Haruna Bala, to death today Tuesday September 17th. A statement released by the spokesperson of the police command, Bala Elkana, says the couple who were not legally married, lived together at No 2 Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere lagos, for three years and have a Baby who just turned one.

An argument ensued between them which turned violent and the woman used a kitchen knife to stab the man in the back which led to his death. Bala says the woman accused the man of refusing to release money for their daughter's birthday party.


Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba have taken over the investigation. The suspect confessed to the commission of the Crime. She will be charged to Court for murder.

A fraudster, Tajudeen Akintunde and his gang members, Omojola Adeyanju and Tunde Ganiyu, have been arrested after hypnotizing a boy, Safari Taiwo, who had been sent to deposit money in a bank by his elder sister at Yemetu, Ibadan. Tunde, who pretended to be a pastor, approached Taiwo and prophesized that he had a problem. .

After hypnotising the boy, the suspects collected the N15,000 and ATM card with him and withdrew about N93,000, another N50,000 through the POS and another 43,000. They told the boy he had spiritual problems and he must drop everything on him in order for them to carry out the cleansing.

A member of the syndicate was then beckoned upon to assist the victim to purchase salt at Iwo road to complete his ritual rites. Taiwo, however, became conscious while on the way and he alerted the people, thereby leading to their arrest.

A suspected ritual killer, Tunde Tayo has been arrested by the Police in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State after burying a headless body in his uncompleted building. He was caught after cutting off the head and removing the heart and intestines of the Okada at the Crystal FM area in Maitunbi.

The 30-year-old Tayo was reportedly apprehended by police operatives attached to the Maitumbi Division for killing his victim of Ungwan Rama for ritual purposes.

Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed to be clearing grasses grown in the building before he was apprehended. Further investigation revealed that Salle’s body was buried by the suspect in a shallow grave near his house. The suspect said he lured his victim to his uncompleted building in Ungwan Roka, where he carried out the crime.

An Imo based Prophet, Michael Mbonu has been arrested by the Imo State Police Command's Special Anti-Robbery Squad operatives for allegedly kidnapping and killing his church member, Princewill Ezeji. Ezeji was said to have gone to seek blessing from his cleric with his latest priced possession, a Toyota Camry car, and was killed and dispossessed of the car by the supposed man of God.

One Kingsley Udemba, 24, said to have capitalised on the situation to fleece Princewill’s family the sum of N960,000 as ransom, claiming to have abducted the then missing man was also paraded.

The state commissioner of police, Rabiu Ladodo, who paraded the suspects before newsmen in Owerri, stated that the prophet had initially kidnapped the victim before getting rid of him. Ladodo disclosed that once men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) from the command got wind of the disappearance of the victim through his brother, Emeka Ezeji, who reported the matter, they immediately swung into action and arrested the prophet.

Upon his arrest, the police boss said, the suspect took the police to where he murdered the victim, adding that some personal effects like phone, car and SIM card, which the victim took to the prophet’s residence, were recovered.
