A gang leader who specialised on posing as operative of the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to snatch cars, have been arrested. Bashir Dahiru, who was caught attempting to steal a Toyota RAV-4, used to operate within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja and other neighbouring states.

Recovered from him, are two fabricated master keys, fake Inspector-General- of Police (IGP) Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) identity card bearing his name and a Peugeot car. In an interview with newsmen, Dahiru said: “I rely on informants and gang members for information on cars target and where they are parked. I operate on Suleja Road and beyond, depending on the location of the vehicle.

My modus operandi is to unlock parked cars with master key before stealing them. Allah knows that I have tried to stop the act, but I couldn’t. The worst is that I can’t even state what I do with the proceeds from the crime.”

One of the contenders for the position of Senate President, Mohammed Ali Ndume, has arrived the National Assembly premises ahead of the inauguration of the 9th Assembly.

The lawmaker who represents Borno South Senatorial District arrived at the National Assembly lobby at exactly 7:20.am and was seen exchanging greetings with staff of the National Assembly. Ndume is the first senator-elect to arrive at the National Assembly so far.

On Monday June 10th, Temidayo, the only daughter of media mogul, Mo Abudu, had her court wedding with her hubby, Adebola Makanjuola, at the Westminister Registery Office in London, United Kingdom.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the party has, after extensive consultations with critical stakeholders, adopted Senator Ali Ndume and Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago for Senate President and Speaker of House of Representatives of the ninth national assembly to be inaugurated today.

The PDP, in a statement issued at 1:30am on Tuesday by its National Secretary, Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, said the final resolution on Senator Ndume and Hon. Bago was reached at the end of a decisive meeting of members of the National Working Committee, party leaders, state governors as well as senators and members-elect on the platform of the PDP.

“This decision is in the best interest of the nation, in line with our party’s determination to deepen democracy, ensure a strong and independent legislature, strict compliance with the principle of separation of powers as well as constitutional checks and balances in the polity. “All senators and members-elect on the platform of the PDP are to be guided accordingly,” the party said.

Some men are crazy...

That was what reportedly happened in no other place than Kanda, Accra - not too far from Jubilee House.

According to a report by classfmonline.com, a man simply identified as Kofi slept outside and returned home the next day with a lady believed to be a sex worker, and then allegedly stole his wife’s money to pay her.

Akua, as she is also identified, told Class FM’s Felicity Naana Nelson that a heated argument ensued between her and the husband on Monday, May 27 after she complained about using her money to pay a sex worker he had slept with.

She added that while asleep in the night of the day of the argument, she felt a sharp excruciating pain in her head, only to Wake up and see her husband and father of two stabbing her in the head multiple times.

She pleaded with him to spare her life, but to no avail. She then shouted for help, drawing the attention of neighbours who rescued and rushed her to the hospital, before a complaint was lodged with the police.

Sensing trouble, Kofi reportedly absconded and has since not returned home.

Akua, a hairdresser, is reported as saying her husband must be arrested and prosecuted for attempting to kill her.

It is unclear how far the police have gone with investigations into the matter.
