Alex Iwobi has been unveiled as an Everton player, days after he completed his £40 million move to the Merseyside club.

The 23-year-old Nigerian Footballer who rose from Arsenals’ academy to their first-team set-up in 2015, was Everton's seventh signing of the summer. He was unveiled wearing Everton's jersey in photos shared on Twitter.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has spoken out against the arrest of Omoyele Sowore by operatives of DSS over his planned protest scheduled for Monday, August 5th.

According to Eedris, 'the news of the ignoble arrest of the Revolution Now project convener Mr Femi Sowore is to say the least very regrettable and equally ludicrous'.

Arresting Mr. Sowore and trying to intimade the citizenry is outrightly cowardly and defeatist. Nigerians are truly tired of the staus quo and desire, or rather demand a true change. And no amount of intimidation or harassment is ever going to change this.

#Revolutionnow is for every Nigerian, irrespective of class, creed or tongue...Indeed and truly, the future of our land is in our hands.

It is therefore very imperative to mention at this juncture that tbe arrest of Femi Sowore rather than throwing us in disarray as they envisaged, have rather succeeded in energizing and propelling our collective zeal the more....

Biodun Fatoyinbo admonishes followers not to allow themselves to be used to further the work of the enemy

A man in his early 50’s, Kula Adasu, yesterday reportedly committed suicide at Tse-Agberagba, the headquarters of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State. It was alleged that Jimin Adasu family members had accused Kula of being responsible for the death of Terseer Gyuve Adasu, who died in Makurdi earlier this month and is to be buried next Monday.

A source from the local government said “the matter became dicey when the family held a meeting and insisted they would consult a soothsayer today (yesterday), the deceased decided to commit suicide.

“He killed himself to end the raging problem that he was the one who killed the young man.” The source said Kula was in his early 50’s, was married and had children.The man, however, did not leave any suicide note. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident. She said: “We have received the report and we are handling it.”

The Kenyan government have deported a Caucasian man being paraded in the country as Jesus Christ and they have arrested the pastors who invited him and convinced their followers he's the real son of God.

Two church pastors invited the Caucasian man to their country then managed to convince their followers that he's Jesus Christ of Nazareth and he has finally come back as promised.

“Jesus Loves You Evangelistic Ministries” Evangelist Michael Job made an appearance dressed as Jesus Christ at the Kiserian Mega Interdenominational Crusade in Kenya over the weekend.

Taking place over three days, Job was joined by several other reverends and bishops for the “Soul Harvest” campaign and was invited by the local clergy to be a guest speaker.

Deported from Kenya?

He was in Kenya as part of a crusade dubbed the Kiserian Mega Interdenominational Crusade. The three-day event was under the theme Soul Harvest Campaign.

He was one of two guest speakers from the United States and was also labeled Actor of The Movie, The Life of Jesus. The other guest speaker was Rev. John Kipeen.

A viral story by an online portal Daily Afrika has also been widely shared on social media with the headline: “Kenya government deports Jesus, arrests pastors who invited him.”

It claims among others that the arrest was because Michael Job had been “going round taking money from Kenyans to perform miracles, secure seats for them in heaven.”

There is no confirmation of the said arrests or deportation in Kenya local media space nor is there any news to that effect from Kenya’s Immigration or security authorities.

Borno Governor Visits Hospitals, Finds Patients In Pathetic Condition "No Doctor On Duty"

The Borno State Governor, Prof Umara Zulum paid an unscheduled visit to Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital and the State Specialist hospital, last night.

At Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital, he met patients in pathetic condition and could not find a single doctor on duty. As a result of their absence, Prof Zulum had to place a call to all the 10 medical Doctors on duty, but none of them answered the call not knowing it was the Governor that was calling.

Only 10 nurses were found on duty out of about 138 nurses on the payroll. The Governor went round all the wards to see the situations of the patients and later requested for the hospital's staff pay book and made role call.

Precious Owolabi, the 23-year-old youth corps member serving in Channels TV who was killed in the cross fire between the Police and Shi'ites members in Abuja yesterday July 22nd, died after several hospitals he was rushed to allegedly rejected him.

A colleague of the deceased, Chamberlain Usoh hinted on this while speaking on Channels TV live this morning.

Speaking, Chamberlain said

''Given what transpired, there are many ifs and buts because following the accounts of how he eventually lost his life, when he was shot and the stray bullet hit him, they had been taken him to several hospitals and it is one of the issues that we raise consistently on this programme, how that needs to become history in this country where when people are taken to the hospital, the hospitals for one reason or the other, you find out that for one reason or the other, treatments cannot be adminsitered on accident victims because in many cases, it is no fault of theirs.

We do know that we have taken the Former Minister of Health on this issue and he said that the hospitals have got to treat these people. The National Assembly also waded in on this particular scenario. It turns out that it is not yet been fully implemented''.

A yet-to-identified lady has died after misstepping with her head hitting the ground while alighting a #Danfo bus, yesterday, in Lagos.

According to Tolulope, an eyewitness, the incident happened at Olowu bus stop, along Mobolaji bank Anthony road, Ikeja. Her family has since come to evacuate her body.

A15-year-old nursing mother, Blessing, has revealed how her elder brother, Frederick (35), started having sex with her when she was 13 years old, leading to her becoming a mother at 15.Blessing’s defilement was discovered after she delivered a baby girl at Stella Obasanjo Hospital, in Edo State.

Sources said that his brother, Frederick was almost lynched after he collected the baby from his sister at the hospital and attempted to dump it in a refuse dump, claiming that the baby was dead. He was attacked by an angry mob after it was found that the baby was alive and kicking.

Blessing said: “My brother has been sleeping with me since I was 13 years old. Sometimes last year, he sent his wife out of their matrimonial home for about eight months. He sent her out, so that he could have his way with me daily. I had no one to cry to because he is my eldest brother. We lost our mum when I was 10 years old; this made me stay with my brother. He promised to marry me despite all odds. He told me that I should not terminate the pregnancy. He said that once I was delivered of the baby, he would get someone to take the baby and we would become rich.”

Blessing disclosed that the plan would have worked out, but Frederick started acting in a suspicious manner at the hospital, right after the delivery. She said: “My brother’s movement became suspicious at the hospital after I gave birth. The hospital management had to move me from the women’s ward to a safe place where I was with my baby.” Frederick told EDOCSO, which took him to police station, that he returned home one day and realised that his sister looked like his wife. He said that he decided to do what husband and wife used to with her. He insisted that he couldn’t recall whatever happened after then.
