Mr Bouteflika, who has been terribly sick since he suffered a stroke six years ago, has avoided public events ever since. President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has resigned after weeks of massive street protests, leading to celebrations across the country.

The ailing, 82-year-old leader announced he was stepping down with immediate effect in a letter published by state-run APS news agency on Tuesday, just hours after the army chief demanded action to remove him from office.

The BBC’s Mohamed Arezki Himeur in Algiers says there were huge celebrations in the city, with people shouting and honking their car horns all night.



Car horns could be heard in the streets of the capital, Algiers, as hundreds celebrated the announcement, BBC reports. Excited citizens waved Algeria’s national flags and sang as they celebrated.

According to report, Kolade was the only son of a widow a husband and a father. His only crime was being in the right place at the wrong time, He was watching a football match when SARS operatives who allegedly came to someone, they started shooting sporadically, Kolade is not the first innocent victim to to gunned down with riffle by men of the State Anti-robbery squad (SARS).

President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja today for Dakar, Senegal to attend the inauguration of Senegalese President, Macky Sall, following his re-election for a second term.

On the invitation of his host, President Buhari, who is ECOWAS Chairman, will be Special Guest of Honour at the ceremonies to be attended by other African leaders at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.

The allied peoples movement (APM) and its gubernatorial candidate in the march 9, 2019 election in Ogun state, abdulkabir Akinlade have filed an ex-parte motion before the governorship election petition tribunal in Ogun state to challenge the result of the governorship poll.

The lead counsel for Akinlade and the APM, a senior advocate of Nigeria Onyechi Ikpeazu while appearing before the election tribunal on tuesday, urged the tribunal to give an order mandating the independent national electoral commission to grant them access to the documents used for conduct of the march 9 election in the state.

Ikpeazu, who led senator Ademola Adeleke’s legal team at the Osun state election petition tribunal, will be leading three senior advocates of Nigeria - Mamman oOuman, Sebastine T. and Ahmed Raji to challenge the election victory of the candidate of the all progressives congress (APC), prince Dapo Abiodun.

Babatunde Raji Fashola, Minister of Power, Housing and Works,has explained the power supply situation in the country. He highlighted the improvement Buhari's administration in regards the Power situation they met on ground by the past administration.

The Former Governor of Lagos, stated his view while speaking on a live program ( Sunrise Daily on Channels TV) on Wednesday.

Fashola asserted that in some parts of the country like Kebbi and Yobe, the power supply is constant.

The Minister of Power, however, revealed that the power distribution companies in those areas reported their consumers as saying that they do not need 24/7 power supply due to the high billing.

A former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA)(EFCC), has just declared wanted ,Ambassador Ayodele Oke and his wife, Folasade Oke, wanted.

The Economic Financial crime commission (EFCC) has declared the embattled NIA boss (Ayodele Oke) wanted, this recent development was confimed and signed in a statement by Tony Orilade, who is the Acting Head of the commission on sunday.

This action was as a result of Mr Ayodele Oke and his wife, Folashade's failure to answer the call for fraudulent allegations and charges levelled against them.

“Hon Temitope Olatoye, famously known as Sugar, who represents Lagelu/Akinleye constituency of Oyo State in the federal House of Representatives, was making the journey from his village after casting his vote in the governorship election of Saturday, March 9, 2019, when some political thugs ambushed him and assailed him with a hail of bullets”.


Some years back, when you hear the name ‘SUGAR’ in Federal college of Education,.Osiele-Abeokuta; to some folks it means terror, oppression and brutality and cruelty.
Olatoye was a very young champ during his early days in college. An handsome dude as they ‘say’.
I was fortunate to know ‘Sugar’ personally, I had serial encounter with this fellow in year 2006. I had my high school education around FCE-Osiele, Abeokuta environs when he wields the sceptre of No.1 ‘Baba nla’ at FCE-Osiele. Back then Sugar was a very popular dude on the soil of FCE and Osiele-Abeokuta environs.
Sugar was a gentle and cool dude who is full of natural charm.
A source said on social media that his trouble started when he was aspiring for the post of the President- Student Union government (SUG) of Federal college of Education, Osiele-Abeokuta. He was busted like three (3) times before withdrawing from the elections.
Sugar wants to be in power by all means; so he opted in for revenge, he strategized and met some of his friend, they decided to join OPC, by and large, his initial reasoning to take revenge against his cult rivals, but alas he started gaining much needed supports from the primitives’ indigenes of Osiele community.
Moreover, it was revealed that ‘SUGAR’ maneuvered his way and got in contact with the then Governor of Ogun-state (Otunba Gbenga-Daniel) he was later appointed as a supervisory councilor in Odeda local government.
However, after so many brutalities, wickedness and frequent killings committed by SUGAR and his killer squad ; Ologbowon,Ozogula students, indigenes and cult rivals were fed-up with his atrocities, he was bursted severally, luckily for SUGAR, he escaped and relocated to Ibadan, he later contested for the seat of House of Representatives, representing Lagelu/Akinyele in 2015 which he won.
Sugar was very instrumental to Ajimobi governorship (2011-2018)

Around 4pm on Wednesday, a commercial bus caught fire opposite the Faculty of Environmental Science, near the Multipurpose Hall of the University of Lagos.

No one was injured, but there was tension in the air as students scampered away from the scene of the fire.

if I do not know of others,I know that of the GCI saga cos I'm an old boy now.. around 2003 when Tinubu lied he is an old boy of the school but his records backing the claim were not found. the old boys association and our principal then mr Ademola denied him instantly... one afternoon, just before break,policemen sent by then Governor lam adesina storm our school,arrest our principal and cart away all the school records and that was the last we saw of the very gentle mr Ademola...we later heard he was compulsorily retired...
fun times then.

The back page of your The Nation of Tuesday 12 March where one of your Rottweilers under the FORGED name “Segun Ibirogba” wrote “Odumakin’s anxiety over vanishing feeding-bottles” has un-paused the button on this serial.

I have always wondered why these intellectual almajiris around you always attack me under fake names.It is either they are afraid of me or they don’t believe in you to risk their names doing the dirty job for you .Well,we know many of them hold worst views about you than us but for the free money they have been accustomed to from a Robbin Hood.

The piece referenced was a rehash of same old silly lies and freshly minted ones.In keeping faith with my resolve that for every dart of lie you guys throw in my direction ,I will return 10 bombs of truth I make this response.And for every line I write,I can say like Fela Anikulapo-Kuti “Na true I wan talk again o,if I dey lie o,make Edumare punish me o”.

Since you guys made a failed attempt to impugn my integrity ,I have chosen to use this edition to place your life side-by-side mine on the scale of integrity so we can know if your hen can point at the boil in a hawk’s eye.I intend to show that were it not that Nigeria has become Ceaser’s palace where the leper holds the veil,nobody in your circle should move near that subject.

I am Yinka Odumakin and nobody can say he had known me under any identity in my life .I have led a straight life unlike you that people know under different identities depending on whey they met you in your about 80 years on earth .Yes,80!

Those of us who are knowledgeable about you cant buy your 66 claim for so many reasons .The current governor of Osun is the son of your immediate senior sister from Iragbiji and he is 63 while you are claiming 66. Your first wife died in Lagos recently unannounced at 74 .

When the son he had for you died many moths earlier his age had to de doctored to fit into the lie that you live.And there is a photograph of yours at the palace of Soun Ogbomoso in 1974 when the current monarch was installed with a bottle of beer and packet of cigarette in your front.You mean you were 20 when you were drinking and smoking in a palace ?

There is no school I have attended in my life that my classmates would not come out in droves to say “yeah, we were there together!”. From St Augustine Primary School, Ondo to CAC Grammar School, Edunabon and Oduduwa College Ile -Ife down to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife and University of Ghana.

At your end St John Primary School Aroloya you claimed may be created by your new governor in Lagos. The old boys of Government College !Ibadan were planning a reception for you when someone asked which set you belonged to .There has been no answer to that till date and the reception was cancelled. The tales by moonlight on Chigago State University and University of Chiicago are all over the place.

My parents are alive in Osun and by God’s grace I will give them a befitting burial. I will not have to send emissaries to bury them since I have not abandoned “moomi” (that’s how we Oyo people in Osun call mummy) to be calling another woman “maami” in Lagos to fit a life of lie and greed. No Mama HID Awolowo would have told me that she knew all the children of “maami ” and that I was not one of them.

My parents are not rich but I am proud of them because it is from their black pot that my white palp has come out. I say proudly among my University mates today that they could not afford more than N60 per month for me throughout my University days .The story of grass to grace is a proud thing among the Yoruba. MKO Abiola was proud of the story that he ate egg for the first time in his life in the home of Simbiat Abiola’s parents.

With the modest means of my parents, they instilled so much values in me that there is no crime attached to my name in all my years on earth. Forging traveling passports had never appealed to me. Neither has my name been linked to a narcotic ring leading to inquiry and forfeiture of assets. All my life, my hands have provided for me. And they have provided for you too.

I recall when you returned from exile in 1998 and running for governor. You were not “Ezeego” then. You had only the Sunday Adigun house and all the four cars you used then belonged to Mr Ganiyu Solomon. There were a lot of printings being done for you by your friends at The News. I saw the price you were being offered and I told you my press could do it at 40%. I delivered and saved you 60%. I recall Mr Babafemi Ojudu complained openly that they could not do the price I offered you !

That should tell you and your attack dogs that I have always separated the cause I believe in from what I would eat unlike you who always mix the two. You pose as a June 12 hero today but Kola Abiola is alive to tell the story of what happened to MKO’s money as Bashorun is no longer alive. In 20 years, there is hardly any boundary between Lagos treasury and your private pockets. Your “O to ge” moment is coming some day and all the dirty deals will be out.

Like a rapist, you can tell your victims to shout “O to pe” for as long as stolen funds and drug money rule Lagos politics.

I have noticed that because you and your followers have no abiding principle and you are driven by only lust for money, you assume it is so for everybody. Your being glued to the lowest of all spirits (money) makes it difficult for you to make the right judgement about people thinking they are all about money. Was it that you didn’t have money when I told you in December 2006 that it was over between us politically? Have I ever looked in your direction ever? There are men who may not be able to give N10,000 to a cause but if they say they want to see me at 8AM I would be there at 7. Can you summon me with all your bullion vans?

In the last few hours, I have received threatening calls from Lekan Fatodu and his sidekick, Damilare Olaniyan also known as "Andre" both men set up several calls repeatedly, first from telephone number +2348060140882 and +2348038436251 apparently from Nigeria. While Lekan threatened bodily harm against my person, Andre took it a notch further by threatening to harm my two little kids.
Whereas I am not bothered by these threats, as they come with the territory of my work and calling.

In the last election, I knew that Lekan Fatodu worked as a campaign aide to newly (s)elected Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwoolu. I've known Lekan Fatodu a long time and I can tell you he doesn't act without motivation. When he and Andre waylaid and attacked me at GRA, Ikeja in 2017, it was because then Commissioner of Police of Lagos, Fatai Owoseni was actively backing them. Later, he got help from Bukola Saraki and the Chief Army Staff, who helped him secure a lawyer. They all mistakenly thought I would run scared.
I was in Lagos throughout the last year, I announced my whereabouts to everyone because I was not running scared.

Beyond that, I knew what went down at Sanwoolu's campaign office. Recent revelations highlight that it was a den of drug dealers and hired assassins.

Just letting all know to prepare for the next phase!

Edgal Imohimi, Lagos state commissioner of police, says there would be no change of guard at the state command for now.
He said this at the command headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday.
Kayode Egbetokun, former chief security officer to Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had been named the new commissioner of police in the state while Imohimi was redeployed to the force headquarters in Abuja.
Egbetokun was Tinubu’s chief security officer for a few years before he became the commandant of Police Training School, Ikeja, Lagos.
The process for the hand over was underway when Imohimi announced that he had received a directive from Abuja to suspend the action.
“I am sure that you know Mr. Kayode Egbetokun; he is an old timer in the command,” Imohinmi said.
“You all know that our first job is about order and direction; we were about concluding the handing and taking over procedure when we were instructed by our bosses from Abuja to suspend action for now.
“So, there will be no change of guard for now. Of course, we would keep the press briefed about any development.
“But I am happy, humbled that you find it serious enough for you all to come to witness what we are doing here. I consider it an honour.”
Sources had told TheCable that Imohimi, who is said to be an ally of Akinwunmi Ambode, the incumbent governor of the state, was “fired from Lagos” because he did not provide adequate security at the APC rally in Ikeja last week.
Violence broke out at the rally and Musiliu Akinsanya, treasurer of the National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW), popularly known as “MC Oluomo”, was stabbed, while some journalists were also shot.
Imohimi was deployed to Lagos on August 31, 2017, after serving as the deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations in the state.

DCP Kayode Egbetokun is a serving Deputy Commissioner of Police in Nigeria. Born on September 4, 1964 in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, he enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
He had his initial Cadet training in the Nigeria Police Academy, and has attended many other courses within and outside the Police Force. He has worked in several Police commands and formations across the country and held command positions at various times in his career spanning 26 years.
As a Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1999, he was appointed the Chief Security Officer to the Governor of Lagos State. In that capacity, he coordinated the security of the entire state while reporting to the governor.
He has served as the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos, Squadron Commander, Mopol 5, Benin, Benin City, Officer-in-Charge, Anti-Fraud Unit, FCT Command, Abuja, Chief Superintendent of Police, Administration, Lagos State Command Head Quarters, Ikeja, Area Commander, Osogbo, Osun State Command and Area Commander, Gusau, Zamfara State Command among several others.
DCP Kayode Egbetokun is not only a Police officer but a Mathematician. He graduated from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, with Bachelor of Science degree (BSC) in Mathematics in June 1987 and lectured Mathematics briefly at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, before his enlistment into the Police Force.
His other academic qualifications include MSC Engineering Analysis, also from the University of Lagos, Akoka, 1996, PGD in Petroleum Economics from Delta State University, Abraka, 2000, and an MBA from Lagos State University, Ojo, 2004.
Those that know him attest to the fact that he is a seasoned disciplined and incorruptible officer,firmly committed to discharging his duties with vigour, honour and integrity. Indeed, more men and women with Kayode Egbetokun’s sterling academic record should be lured into the Police Force for a revamp of its sometimes uncomplimentary image.
