Segeggs:I didn't mean to insult or ridicule, I just want to be sure if you have the slightest idea of what the term SEO is. Now that I understand where you're coming from and where you stand in the SEO space.....let me see how I can break it down. SEO is an acronym that stands for "search engine optimization" which is a process or techniques that is required to gain better search engine ranking or visibility. Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing use what I called criteria or factors that they take into consideration before ranking a webpage in their search engines result pages. These criteria or factors are what bloggers, or content writers strive hard to met while writing their content in other to achieve better ranking in search engines. The starting point or line of search engine optimization is "Keyword targeting", before you can start thinking of how to optimize your content for better search visibility, you must first know what keyword you're optimizing for and why you're going after such keyword is an important question you also need to answer yourself. If you don't know what keyword you're targeting or why you're targeting the keyword, I bet your effort in producing the content might just be a waste of time. SEO is divided in two distinct part - namely "On-page and Off-page SEO". On-page seo are those little things you can do or implement on "your blog" while writing your content that can make a BIG different if done write on your search engines ranking, these little things consist of: Adding your focus keyword at mostly, the beginning of your content tittle. Adding your focus keyword in the content page url - permalink. And in the first paragraph of the content. Some other variation of your focus keyword in the body content. Using H2, H3 tags as Sub-headings and if possible let this tags consist of your focus keyword or its variation. All your pages should be well described accordingly with relevant keywords in the meta description box; make sure all pages on your blog can be reached from just one text link, this will allow the search engines spiders to better crawl your website, and make sure you have a functional sitemap - if you don't know what a site map is, - Google is your friend. The other part of SEO is called Off-page SEO. This is just an advance name for "link-building", I said so because 100% of what you're going to be doing named off-page seo will definitely result in building links back to your blog. But this area is much more difficult than on-page seo because you have no control of what happens on other peoples website, you have to resort to many tactics to get links from other website, such as guest posting, blog commenting, sky scrappers techniques, begging for links, buying of links, bloggers out reach, etc. Take note - some techniques I mentioned here are not ethic and could land you in Google's court and if you're found guilty........sorry! Links are the most important criteria or factors that have direct effect on your search engines ranking, especially when this link comes from a relevant page and from authority site. BizBooks:Either you're talking about a new website about to take off or an existing one, using a responsive blog theme - especially if you're on WordPress is the most simplest way to go mobile friendly. This will allow you to display same blog design to everyone that visit your site irrespective of what device. And you don't even need to create a separate mobile website for your audience. If you have an existing website that is not mobile friendly, instead of wading your way through endless codes search, - remember not everyone is code geek - why not opt for a new blog theme from leading theme developers on your platform? I use "prose" theme from studiopress and I can guarantee you that the theme is 100% mobile responsive - either you visit on tablet, smartphones of any size, BB, Android, ipad, iphone, whatever.........the theme automatically adjust to the screen size and every element on the page is visible and clickable without stress. If you're still not sure how this work or needs some example of themes that does this - check out studiopress theme page, am sure you will find something interesting =======Studiopress themes. |
The best and most smpliest way to go mobile friendly is to install responsive theme, with this you don't have to do any other thing or worry over codes. Just install responsive theme and let it take care of everything - whatever device your website is visit with, the theme adjust automatically to the screen demand. |

kennysympathy:Thanks for the honor, but unfortunately I don't advice or recommend anyone to start blogging on anything . or .. There are lots of factors that makes readers or buyers trust and value a blog, having a self hosted blog is just one of the starting criteria. Blogging is a serious business that require both the investment of "time and money", I know is not easy in this country to be putting money on something for about a year without any profit in sight. But if you're serious and truely want financial security out from your online business, get yourself a self hosted blog. with as little as 3,000 Naira you can get self hosted WordPress blog for a year. Besides, my whatsapp ID is 08137252269 |

OP, I need some clearification here; how did you manage to get 18,306 users to return 79,000 plus sessions and the magic of them all......to generate 1,000,000 plus pageviews? OP! Your site must be TechCrunch or Mashable to have achieve that. My observations. |
SirChotas:I believe the days of exact keyword in domain names are long been dead or at least, not as effective as they once used to be. Now, is all about quality of your webpages to serve users needs, if your web pages provides high quality relevant contents that solves users problems consistently, Google will reward you with better ranking over sites with exact keyword domain with tin or poor quality contents. Google this keyword: "what is SEO" and tell me what position is the website with that exact search term. is all about quality of your blog, from set up to contents on each pages. And how easily users find it accessible. And in most of the times, the quality of domain links pointing towards your individual pages. |
ITbomb:Don't worry, Google will crawl your web pages when its time to do that. keep posting and if you're on WordPress, after hitting publish button, go to pingomatic.com and send ping. |
Blogs, left alone won’t make you money; it is the activities you as a blogger run on it that has the potentials of making you money. So if you are still thinking or believing that starting a blog is the sole ticket to making money online, you had better dump that idea into the trash box now. You can’t make a dime from blogging just by having your blog up and running on the internet. Take note of the word “Potential“, I purposely used that keyword above because nothing you do on your blog is 100% guarantee that you must earn money from the task. The foundation to making money from your blogging activities solely depends on one very important fundamental principle: “Find a group of people with similar pressing needs, create products or services that solve that problem, find the means to market the solution to them in an easy to deliver format.” We can break that process into two channels: Quality Services/Products and Effective Communication channels So how do you gain massive traction through the quality services you offer which is required for turning attention into money? Debeloved87:Since you just started a week a go, forget about Google showing your post on search results pages.... just focus on improving the value and quality of your blog by learning everyday, and putting into practice what you're learning. There are lots of things to get done and get right before your posts can show up on search results pages. Since you're blogging on , I will suggest you read this blog regularly - OgbongeBlog. Owned by Jide Ogunsanya. You will sure learn a great deal from reading his blog. |
Thank you all, I appreciate and love all your comments, it just show your level of thinking and maturity. And from what I can see in my traffic stats, you all visited my blog to read the post......thank you. Hope you like the blog? Wish to see you some other time. |
KORLAR:My advice may seems like a kind of workload, but if you can do it....it will certainly pay well. First, analyze who are your present audience by log in to your Google analytics. gathered every valuable info you can get from it, like age, gender, location, traffic source, posts that are doing well, landing pages, keywords etc. Now, take that data and see what kind of products or services might appeal to a good percentage of your most responsive audience. This is necessary that you do it,because sometimes a blog might be generating its biggest traffic volume from a certain country, but the traffic might not be a good fit for the blog type and content. For instance, I generate the most traffic from USA, but my most paying customers are Nigerians, despite the fact that I don't even target them most in my content strategies. But these are people that buy my services the most, and one more thing, study what type of content or blog you're building because not every blog topic go well with displaying advertising. Some blogs are better off with selling services directly to their audience. And if you have manage well to convert your audience to subscribers, affiliate marketing is another viable option you might look into. If you want to try out affiliate marketing, and don't know what product or services to begin with. Follow my first advice on analyzing your Google analytics report, now take your findings to keyword planner; run keyword research based on your most four to five most visited audience locations. Your most visited pages also could help you decide what type of affiliate products or services these people might be interested in, now use keyword planner to find relevant affiliate products or services to promote; you can do this. Hope this help? If you need help on this, my door is always FREELY opened. |

As a content marketer, one of your most important tasks is to help both your human visitors and search engines crawlers to better understand what the content on each of your pages stands for…..the specific question they provide answers to. Unlike your human visitors, search engines spiders can’t read text on a page; they follow many patterns or signals to determine the relevancy of a page to users queries in other to present her with the most relevant information. To help search engines crawlers better understand what each of your pages stands for, you have to incorporate structures, patterns and clues into your content creations. This will help provide the relevant on-page seo best practices elements that search engines spiders’ uses to return useful relevant information to a user’s search queries within a fraction of seconds.
