Copied this from the BBA fan site "Yesterday while Keliz and Emma were dancing, teasing, laughing and entertaining us and themselves, Edward was sleeping. When Emma asked him why he was quiet, he said he was bored. LOL. Did he pay anyone to come there and entertain him? All his groupies that used to listen to his wild tales from Sweden have left and Mzamo is an incoherent rambling disaster so no communication can happen there, he sleeps. Instead of trying to join the fun and conversation with his self created enemies, he runs around naked and plays pranks, drinks, smokes sleeps and pronounces himself bored. He is a little man. Little upstairs. Little mind. Little under the pants and even shorter than Kevin. Edward is a little man. " . Just loving the part that talked about Mzamo. LWKMD |

Career / Re: Recommend a good Consultant for Defensive Drivers Training by akowonjo: 2:38pm On May 20, 2008 |
It all depends on the program you choose to run. I did the one-month course and the first two days were purely theoretical. It had to do with learning driving signs and the various parts of the car. Practical driving classes started from the 3rd day and I chose to drive for 30 minutes each day cos I used to go during office lunch hour. Saturdays were for core defensive driving workshops in the classroom with the use of projectors and DVD players to show some slides/videos to drive home the point. Altogether, I'd say it was a very thorough learning experience. |

Kamsi, I recommend Tanat consult Ltd. Their Driving Training is quite thorough and handled by seasoned consultants. They are used by Total/Elf and Schlum. The training starts from the basics up to changing of car tyres. |

Food / Re: Rising Prices Of Food by akowonjo: 12:42pm On May 09, 2008 |
The gateman of a compound I used to reside decided to use the land within the compound to grow some things. He planted maize, groundnuts and vegetables. We (the tenants) kept quiet until the plants grew to maturity the the begging began, Ol'boy, na just small soup, make I just cut small vegetable. Ha, Benji this your corn fresh o. Just give me five make I cook. I dey like corn well well. Na wa oh, so the goundnut fit sweet rich like this sef. Trust Nigerians now, when the guy cleared the place up for another round of planting. Every tenant had his portion of land for his/her "little farm". Na dat time we remind am say him no dey pay house rent. |
Food / Re: Rising Prices Of Food by akowonjo: 12:33pm On May 09, 2008 |
Ofada rice is not cheaper than the imported variety. Ate the rice at a party recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Got to the market with spouse to stock up on food items and we made enquiries abou the rice was told that ofada is N200 for a derica cup while the imported ones range between N150 and N200 depending on the brand. I believe the best thing is just for everybody who has any fallow land to take up farming as a hobby and before we know it everyone is growing a little of what he/she eats and that way we are all part of the agricultural sector. I believe it is called subsistence farming. |

Kai! Those Malawians are from another world. My sister laughed so hard she started crying. Now, anytime she wants to get everybody in the house to laugh she sings an idols east africa original eg Prease forgive, prease forgive, prease forgive, prease forgive or Love your an'mals, love ur an'mals, treat them well, treat them well. Haba! What a joke. I suggest the next idols contest in East Africa should be made a clowning contest to get the best comedian around. No need for singing contest yet. Dem no just try at all!!!!!!! |

@daryore. Registration has closed for the June exams. However, you may start preparing for that of December all the same. The earlier you start, the better for you. @obstead200 When is the study group going to start exchanging ideas? June is just by the corner. From the look of things, everybody just wants to receive without giving. I thought it would be a give and take thing. |

Literature / Re: What Has Love For Novels Gotten You Into? by akowonjo: 2:43pm On Apr 17, 2008 |
My mum encouraged me to read novels when I was under 10. She'd buy titles of the 'Pacesetters' series then. By age 14 I stepped up to more mature stuff and was completely addicted to James Harley Chase, Danielle Steele etc by the time I was 15. I'd read in the classroom, on the bus to and from anywhere, in the kitchen, at mealtime, practically anywhere I could get a seat. My mum feared I would not succeed in my SSCE exams and placed a ban. I changed my reading pattern and started reading at night when all was asleep. She caught me once. I started placing it under the pillow so that I'd quicky feign sleep if I heard any foot steps approaching the door to my room. One thing I know those books did for me: Success in English Language |

Hey, Beamer, I'm not saying the judges should be 100% spotless. I believe they should just be a bit more sensitive in their judgements and if possible 'shine their ears'. I still insist that they are passing up some good voices there and I feel bad watching that happen. Accept it or not, the judges have the final say at this stage of the competition. The voting public has no say until the last 12 contestants emerge and even then some people still vote based on the judges' comments. |
TV/Movies / Re: Idols Is Back! (East Africa) by akowonjo: 12:41pm On Apr 15, 2008 |
I got hooked on American Idol in season 3. AI season 3 was won by Fantasia (the fantastic) Barrino, a 19yr old single mother. She was simply da bomb! During her audition, she sang a gospel song. From day 1 it was obvious she was a world apart. She got in the bottom 3 once or twice but still went ahead to win. Her last song was "I believe" which sounded like a gospel song. However, the judges on the Idols East Africa will not even hear those singing gospel songs out. The audition is not about one singing hip-hop or R&B, it's about your voice quality. As the competion progresses, contestants are made to sing all genres of music. That is why the name was changed from "Pop idol" to just "Idol" I thought Dede was a bit overboard with his comments on WA Idol eg "Niger Delta no dey carry last" and his incessant hailing of Timi in his dialect (For crying out loud it was not Nigerian Idol). However, the Scar guy is much worse than Dede. If he wants to act "Simon Cowellish", he should do a good study on Simon Cowell first to get his act together. Most of the time his judgement is "scarred" and once he says no the other guy releases a loud 'no' automatically. The lady is the past of that pack. So many contestatants with great talent that should have gotten the golden ticket have been sent home because Scar wants to play Simon, albeit wrongly. It's really very sad and disheartening. |
