The reason is so obvious. Each traditional religion is independent and different from the other. Hence,each will have different day for holiday and due to the several number of traditional religions we have,we may not have up to 5 days to work in a whole year as every day would have been used for holidays.

@op... My kid can study anything as long he/she is passionate about it. I won‘t even object skipping college/university as long as I know it‘s not as a result of irresponsiblity.

I am not sure of the cause but I think the reasons are :
- some of the women are there because of their babies and women are more attached to the babies than men.
- ante-natal care ( I know you have excused this,but it can‘t be overemphasized)
- most women pay attention to little changes in their wellbeing than men,hence you see them more at hospitals. That also explains why women live more into old age than men.
- citing Nigeria as example,not all females you see at the hospital are sick,some only visit their loved ones,which they do more often than their male counterpart.
It is just my opinion and observation though.

What baffles me most about some of the e-fights on NL is the ‘clique‘ they attach to it. If you engage someone in e-fight,some of his faceless pals on here will definitely join him in insulting you. I so much detest that habit.

the "sincere opinions" havent raised the general IQ level of the website.

the victimization aspect will be better handled if people can see who exactly they're dealing with.

Well,NL cannot be used as the standard for such important action. Afterall,NL is known to be the breeding place of some slow.pokes. Other means can be deviced to checkmate the aspect of insultive or demeaning posts/comments,but revealing ID or IP address should definitely be out of the equation.

Nope,it‘s the other way round. If you are notorious for e-fighting,I may engage you in e-fighting but if you are not,I will pardon you as a first time offender. I think religious section is the worst section to be for e-brawl,that‘s why I hardly go there.

E-fighting is quite unavoidable on nairaland like some other forums but I try as much as possible to run away from it because I so much detest ‘insultive name calling‘ . But when there‘s no way out,I only consider how notorious you are for e-fighting because engaging you in one.

It has its cons and pros.
It will definitely reduce the rate of stup.idity displayed online and religious and ethnic bigotry will drastically reduce. But victimization definitely over-weighs the benefit and people will be afraid to air their sincere opinion.
