PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Is Not The Messiah For Biafra by alaamword(op): 3:57pm On May 29, 2017
Nnamdi Kanu's war is based on tribe and not on principles and values.

The Biafran war might have been over in 1970 but we are still haunted by it.
On May 30, 2017, it would be 50 years
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu declared the state of Biafra. In the South-Eastern region,
Nnamdi Kanu of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is beating the old drums of secession and they are pretty loud.
Yesterday, Sunday, May 28, 2017, Kanu flouted one of the conditions of his release by addressing a pro-Biafra crowd in his father's home in Abia state.
"On the 30th of May, we will shut this very place down and prepare for Biafra. The choice is theirs if they will give us a date for the referendum. And if they fail to do that there will be no election in the south-east forever and ever " he told the crowd on Shabbat, a Jewish religious programme. Nnamdi Kanu is an Igbo-Jew.

There have been quite a few jokers and pretenders in the Biafra cause. It, however, seems Nnamdi Kanu has a strong following. His persecution by the Federal Government has only made him more of a hero in the eyes and hearts of his followers.
Nnamdi Kanu, however, is no messiah. There is no promised land at the end of this all. This pro-Biafra leader was born after the Biafran war. He never saw the war and the damage it caused the people of the South-East. He was however born in the 70s and surely when he was growing up he must have seen the after-effects of Ojukwu's decision to pull his people from the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I have never lived through a war myself but people who have fought in wars say no man should experience war twice. The South-East still has a lot of scars from the Biafran war that have never healed. Setting up a region, that badly needs development, in a collision with the Federal Government isn't an act of boldness but of stupidity. It's plain suicide.
Have Igbos been unfairly treated in Nigeria? Yes, they have. Have they been marginalised? Yes, they have. But guess what- people from the South-South have had it bad also. People from the North (the poorest region in the country) have not had it any better. Nigerians from the South-West have also gotten the short end of the stick. To put it simply- the Nigerian deal has not favoured any tribe.
And here in lies my grouse with Nnamdi Kanu and any other ethnic leader from any part of the country. Fighting for justice and equality based on tribe is not a fight. It's deception. It's tribalism. We, the Nigerian people, have been treated unfairly and poorly the political class. It is not an issue of tribe. It is an issue of we against them, an issue of the greedy and corrupt few over millions of hardworking Nigerians. Any war waged on tribalism or religion will not stand.

What of Igbo politicians who have embezzled money and contributed to the poor economic growth in the South-East? Why hasn't Kanu moved against them? If he is truly a leader, why can't his movement raise leaders that will defeat these corrupt vultures from the South East at the next election? Let him put his people in positions of power and advance the cause from there.
I do no stand with his movement as I do not stand with Boko Haram. Instigating secession and war will lead nowhere. Violence only begets violence.
Now don't get me wrong. I haven't seen a good reason why Nigeria should remain one country. Sometimes I believe it's best we all go our separate ways. If we do it according to the Ojukwu blueprint, it will surely fail as history shows. The Nnamdi Kanu way won't be successful either because it doesn't uphold justice and equality of all tribes. It spews hate and ethnic bias.
When push comes to shove, let's not forget that Nnamdi Kanu is a British citizen. You can read this article and say a Yoruba man is writing rubbish or you can open your minds and realize that a war based

BusinessCBN Asks Nigerians To Report Any Bank That Fails To Give Them FOREX by alaamword(op): 5:54am On Apr 01, 2017
In a statement released on its website today, the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, has asked Nigerians seeking to buy forex for BTA, PTA, medical and school fees but are being frustrated by any bank, to call this number 07002255226 to report such bank.
According to the statement, some Bank customers have complained that since the apex bank issued a directive that banks should sell forex at N360/$1 to its customers, some of the banks have refused their request for FOREX, saying they do not have enough foreign exchange. CBN says this is a lie as the banks have been adequately supplied with forex. Read the statement below
Information reaching the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reveals that some customers seeking to buy forex for BTA, PTA, medical and school fees are being frustrated by some banks with the false claim that the CBN is not allocating enough forex to them for BTA, PTA, Tuition and Medical fees. This claim is totally untrue. All banks have more than enough stock of forex in their possession for the purpose of meeting genuine customers’ demand for BTA, PTA, tuition and medical fees.
Indeed, on a weekly basis, the CBN has been selling at least $80m to banks for onward sale to their customers for these invisible items. Members of the public seeking to buy forex for the above-mentioned purposes are, therefore, advised to go to their banks and obtain their forex.
Any customer who is not attended to within 24 hours for BTA/PTA or 48 hours for tuition and medical fees should call 07002255226 or send an email to cpd@cbn.gov.ng , with the name and branch of the non-cooperating bank. Furthermore, no customer should accept to buy forex from any bank at more than the CURRENTLY prescribed rate of N360/$1.

Fashola is working ......so what is the state of power in your area huh??
PoliticsDemocracy And The Failed Nation Of Nigeria by alaamword(op): 9:07am On Aug 17, 2016
The survival of a nation depends on the good its leadership can bring to bear on the people of the nation. No nation is guaranteed continuous existence if her citizens wallow in abject poverty especially if such a nation is identified as having the potential human and material resources that guarantee greatness.
This writing is not going to make any attempt to define democracy. The believe is that good leadership can be achieved without necessarily launching a nation into the part of democracy. However sweet and assuring this believe might be, democracy has about 90% assurance of producing credible leadership.
Nigeria in its 48 years of independence has been able to evolve a different kind of its own democracy. If democracy to a layman is government of the people, by the people, for the people, Nigerian brand of democracy has given world intellectuals and local and international political think-tanks a reason to think that their basic or elementary definition of democracy is, after all, questionable and inadequate.
Ours is a democracy that thrive upon filth. Leaders are selected rather than elected, electorates are subjugated rather than liberated; and results of votes cast are cooked up in someone’s living room rather than collated from the honest votes of the electorates. Individuals are maimed and killed each time they attempt to defend their rights to bring to power leaders of their choice. “Ewu” goats are appointed to mar the success of free and fair elections. They are prepared to be excellent “cooks” who prepare magnificent “meals” called results of elections from their kitchens called INEC or SIEC. Some of these ‘ewu’ goats tagged themselves conscientious goats who would not announce results that kick against their beliefs and conscience just to be seen and heard , after series of consultations with head beneficiary of their nefarious acts, who lives in a rock, and head of all goats who manages the head kitchen, announcing result that kicked against the conscience and popular will of the people.
The central point of this write up is connection between Nigerian democracy and what international scholars called failed state. Joel Midgal as quoted by John Emeka Akude defines a nation state as:
an organization composed of numerous agencies led and coordinated by the
state’s leadership (executive authority) that has the ability or authority to make
and implement the binding rules for all the people as well as the parameters of
rules making for other social organizations in a given territory, using force if
necessary to have its way.
The ability of the leadership to lead and coordinate the numerous agencies that make up the state must be gained from the detachment of the office of the leadership from the occupant of the office. The leader should not be the office, but the office must be the leader. The office has the physical control of the territory that make the nation state, make collective decisions, provide reasonable public services, and be able to interact with other nation states as a full member of the international community. All these are indicators of a stable and enduring nation state.
When a nation state through the office of its leadership can no longer perform its basic responsibility of provision of security and development, and has no effective control over its territory and borders, this nation state is termed a failed state. It is a failed nation state because it CAN NO LONGER REPRODUCE THE CONDITIONS FOR ITS OWN EXISTENCE. Do we have any reason not to see Nigeria as a failed state?
The central government is so weak or ineffective that it has little or no control over some parts of its territory. Niger- Delta is a clear example. The government has lost control that the only thing left to her is to waste the lives of innocent citizens all in the name of fighting the militants.
It can no longer provide public services: our hospitals (if we have any to call hospitals) are worst than General Sani Abacha’s “mere consulting clinics”, public educational services are not offered any more. Our universities and colleges are not better than playgrounds where the children of the common Nigerians go to play until their teachers/ lecturers are tired and find a way to send them back to their parents through endless strikes. Where are our airports today? If you take a leisure walk to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, I’m not sure one would allow his pet bird to take off and land there.
Our roads are death traps. The highways and all the “B” and “C” roads, except perhaps in few states, where the leadership is becoming more responsive, are no longer motorable all the year round. A few days ago in Kano State a family lost 22 of its members to a road accident. Reason was simply because a driver was trying to dodge potholes.
Power supply is no longer an issue for public discussion. Steady power supply in Nigeria is equated to asking a resident Nigerian astronaut to go to the space. Nigerian comedian, Bright Okocha a.k.a Basket Mouth, said the case of power supply is so bad that when the then NEPA now PHCN seized light and one lights on a candle, NEPA officials come to one’s house and blow out the candle. All that is needed is total lights out.
FIFA is threatening to cancel Nigeria’s bid to host the Under 17 World Cup because we cannot provide stadia capable of hosting the world. Nigeria who in the 70’s hosted the whole of Africa in FESTAC 77 cannot host an Under 17 World Cup competition. I guess we do not have to worry about football. It is not our priority now. Our priority is where the money goes; our pockets.
It is only a failed nation state of Nigeria that allows widespread corruption and criminality. Discussing corruption in Nigeria is closely related to discussing NOTHING. It is no longer news to hear the low and mighty involve in corruption. In fact, the apt one is in corrupt practices the more respected one becomes. Where do you start from: the presidency (executive) or the senate? What about House of Representatives? Where do you place officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force? You do not need to leave the Custom, Immigration, Road Safety, Nigerian Army, NAFDAC and PHCN out. Our teachers, lecturers and students are glaring examples of what corruption is like in Nigeria. States and local government officials are not exempted. The list is inexhaustible.
Crime is so rife that those involve in the act have perfected their actions to such an extent that it may take the combine effort of CIA, KGB, Scotland Yard Police, MOSSAD to crack down a criminal in Nigeria. Armed robbers display their James Bond (007) like tricks as if one is watching stunts in a movie. They have taken control of banks, roads and lately markets. The case of Thursday/ Friday Wuse Market robbery attack speaks volumes. Cult activities are other examples one can cite on the issue of criminality.
Only a failed nation state of Nigeria will allow its citizens to involuntarily move away from the country. A walk around embassies and consulates of foreign countries in Nigeria would amaze you. Nigerians in their droves are ready to relocate to any part of the world for as long as it is not Nigeria. Brain drain is another indicator of mass movement away from Nigeria. With all the ill-treatment some Nigerians receive in some countries – South Africa, Malaysia for example- countries that would not have stood close to Nigeria were Nigeria not a failed state, they better live abroad or overseas than live in Nigeria.
It is only in a failed nation of Nigeria that a government would come up with a policy that would deliberately devalue her currency – the Naira. The government cannot regulate the market which by extension means regulating prices for the comfort of the common man. Industrials die every day. The devaluation of the Naira, inability to control inflation and industrials folding up every day are all pointers to sharp economic decline – a central characteristics of a failed nation state like Nigeria.
How has the Nigerian brand of democracy helped to throw our beloved nation into this quagmire and making her rank among the topmost nations who are at the alert stage of failed nations according to the Fund for Peace, a United States think- tank? The answer is simply.
A truly democratic society must separate its political power away from its economic power. Individuals must be seen to clearly control political power and other individuals should control economic power. This way a symbiotic relationship is created. The political power holders know they have to deliver peace and stability and functioning infrastructure if they must be supported by the economic power holders who guarantee the existence of the political class through financing of public administration through internal economic activities that provide taxes to the government.
In Nigeria the power of the political class is determined by how economically strong one is. Just as one’s economic status is determined by one’s political power. It is clear that the more economically strong one is the more politically powerful one becomes, and vice versa. This explains why our democracy just would not work. The elites will do whatever it takes to have, control and remain in power because to them it is the surest way to economic “breakthrough”. Since a clearly defined divide cannot be made between Nigerian political class and the economic class, individuals at the helm of affairs do not feel obliged or obligated to any other class. So the absence of the economic class (distinct from political class), who by design of true democracy forces the political class to deliver good governance, allows the political class to eat their cake and have it.
The common man is not allowed to institute the kind of leadership he desires and for that reason does not have the right to demand good governance. However sad this may be for the common man and Nigeria in general HOPE is not lost. Hope is not lost because Nigeria, by the divine design of the MERCIFUL GOD, is for the political and economic elites as well as the common man. The politico- economic elites have failed Nigeria and Nigerians and have paradoxically launched Nigeria among the “ WORST FAILED” nation states in world. Behind every pain the Nigerian common man has suffered and is suffering there will come a relief. This is the promise of God and His words shall come to pass
PoliticsCan Lagos Be A Special Administrative Region Under Nigeria by alaamword(op): 8:42pm On Aug 16, 2016
The special administrative regions ( SAR;
Portuguese : RAE ) are autonomous territories that fall within the sovereignty of a country. like Hong Kong and Macau of China. both are sar. so imagining Lagos state asking for autonomy from the Nigeria government to be special administrative region under nigeria under this condition lagos can have its own governments, multi-party legislatures, legal systems , police forces, monetary systems, separate customs territory, immigration policies ,
national sports teams , official languages , postal systems , academic and educational systems, and substantial competence in external relations that are different or independent from the Nigeria.
For external affairs
Then lagos would have the authority to contract a wide range of agreements with other countries and territories such as mutual abolition of visa requirement, mutual legal aid, air services, extradition, handling of double taxation and others. In diplomatic falls involving lagos , Lagos may send officials to be part of the Nigerian delegation. In sporting events Lagos might participate under the respective names of lagos and compete as different entity from Nigeria
Defence will be the responsibility of the Nigerian government.
. with all of Lagos achievement in security, healthcare and others .I believe they can stand as a sar under Nigeria. these can only happen with a refendrum. I believe
PoliticsSENATE FORGERY: Saraki, Ekweremadu, Others For Arraignment Today by alaamword(op): 7:12am On Jun 21, 2016
*Leave Senate President, deputy alone, Owie tells Buhari
By Henry Umoru, Ikechukwu Nnochiri &Joseph Erunke
ABUJA—Embattled Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, are to be arraigned before an Abuja High Court sitting at Jabi, today on a two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery.
In the charge by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, the duo are accused of complicity in alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Orders, 2015.
They are to be arraigned alongside the former Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa and his deputy, Mr. Benedict Efeturi.
The alleged bogus Standing Order was used to conduct the July 9, 2015, election through which both Saraki and Ekweremadu emerged.
FG maintained in the charge the duo had by their conduct, committed an offence punishable under Section 97 (1) and 364 of the Penal Code Act.
Senate President Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, the Deputy President of the Senate
The charge against the defendants, read: “That you, Salisu Maikasuwa, Benedict Efeturi, Dr. Olubukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, on or about June 9, 2015, at the National Assembly complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja, within the jurisdiction of this court, conspired amongst yourselves to forge the Senate Standing Order, 2011 (as amended) and you thereby committed the offence of conspiracy, punishable under Section 97 (1) of the Penal Code Law.
Meanwhile, former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie, yesterday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to leave the Senate President, Saraki and his deputy, Ekweremadu alone in the alleged plans by the Presidency to cripple the legislative arm of government.
Senator Owie who asked President Buhari not to interfere in the affairs of the National Assembly, said that the legislative arm in the world stabilizes democracy, adding that he should emulate those he described as worthy former democratically elected Presidents of Nigeria such as Shehu Shagari; Umaru Yar’Adua and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who never interfered in the affairs of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, there are indications that a vote of confidence would be passed on the duo of Saraki and Ekweremadu today by some of the senators.
To achieve this, Vanguard gathered that senators of both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have been contacted to append their signatures to a motion to this effect, intended to be sponsored by one of the ardent supporters of the Senate leadership.
The intending action of the senate is still being kept in secret, but a source said many senators, perceived to be favourably disposed to the Saraki/Ekweremadu leadership of the 8th Senate, have been reached for their signatures.
The source said that they were, however, advised to keep the development secret.

PoliticsDetention: Fayose Says DSS Gradually Becoming Oppression Tool For APC by alaamword(op): 7:00am On Mar 19, 2016
Ado-Ekiti-Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the denial of the Department of State Services (DSS) that it was not aware of any court ruling, ordering the release of the detained Ekiti State House of Assembly member, Hon Afolabi Akanni, as "ridiculous, height of executive rascality and open display of contempt for the rule of law".
Fayose said it was the highest point of wickedness and barbarism in a democratic setting, for a Nigerian to be arrested by DSS and kept behind bars for 15 days without coming out openly to state his offence.
He called the attention of Nigerians to the alarm raised on Thursday that Akanni had died in detention, saying he did this because the DSS had kept the whole Ekiti in abeyance about the health status of the lawmaker.
Governor Fayose, who spoke through his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, said the fact that Akanni told journalists that he slumped twice in detention on Wednesday gave credence to the alarm raised about his ‘purported’ death.
He said the DSS should tell Nigerians “when Hon. Akanni committed those offences amounting to breach of security? Did Hon. Akanni plot coup or is he leading insurgents to warrant his detention without trial?
“We wish to reiterate that government addressed the press yesterday based on the information available to it and since the DSS was not talking to anyone concerning the status of Hon Akanni, the government had no option than to bring the disturbing information to the public domain.
“From the picture of Hon Akanni that we saw on television and published in the newspapers, it is without doubt that he is terribly sick and in need of urgent medical attention , and disturbing state of health could have been informed by his critical state of health”.
Fayose told the DSS to release Akanni or charged him to court , having
complied with the order of substituted service granted by Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court on March 16, which ordered that the production warrant issued on DSS be published in a national newspapers.
The governor stated that since Nigeria is operating a constitutional democracy that it must release the detainee with immediate effect or charge him to court.
“While we are not questioning the rights of the DSS to handle matters relating to breach of security, we however, wish to ask how and when in particular did Akanni committed those offences amounting to breach of security? Did he plot a coup or led insurgents to warrant his detention without trial?
“If truly the DSS has evidence against him, he should be prosecuted , this is what they do in a civilized clime”, he said.
On the position allegedly canvassed by DSS that it has not been served the production warrant issued by federal high court in Ado Ekiti, compelling the agency to produce the suspect in court on March 16, Fayose said: “The court bailiff, one Araromi Ademola was at the DSS office on March 14, but they refused to accept it.
“The DSS officers according to Araromi said they were acting on order from above. On March 16, the court ordered that they should be served through newspaper publication, we published on pages 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 and 41 of the Tribune edition of March 17. Can the DSS claims that it didn’t see the publication?”.
He appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to call the DSS to order and stop harassing officials of state government.

In a statement by the Executive Secretary of the PPPRA, Mr Farouk Ahmed, the pump price was put at 86.50 Naira per litre, a price the agency said was in line with the prevailing market trend.
“This new price regime is with effect from January 1, 2016,” the statement read.
According to Mr Ahmed, the reversed template was approved by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.
The statement said that the major components of the pricing template affected by this review were Traders Margin, Lightering Expenses, Nigeria Port Authority, Jetty Throughput, Storage Charges and Bridging Fund.
Other components revised include Retailers’ Transporters and Dealers Margins.
As contained in the breakdown, the Ex-depot price of PMS shall be 77 Naira per litre while the pump price will be 86.50 Naira per litre.

The oil-rich nation is currently experiencing fuel scarcity, a situation that the government said would soon come to an end, as some of the nation’s refineries have started production.

Politics$2.1bn Arms: Festus Keyamo Explains Why Jonathan Might Not Be Prosecuted by alaamword(op): 8:00am On Dec 22, 2015
Human rights lawyer, Festus Keyamo in an interview with Tobi Aworinde has said even though former president Jonathan needs to be questioned and investigated in the ongoing investigations over a $2.1bn arms procurement scam, he might eventually not be invited. Here’s the question the human right lawyer was asked;
Some have called for former President Goodluck Jonathan to be investigated and prosecuted for his alleged role in the scandal. What do you think?
The issue of investigating and prosecuting Jonathan is a complex one; it is not a straightforward issue. On the face of it, since all of these people who are indicted, one way or the other, were working directly with the then President Jonathan, and they all took instructions from Jonathan, legally speaking, or like we say, ordinarily, he should be invited, questioned and, if possible, prosecuted. But it is not as straightforward as that. Continue...
The reason why I say it is not straightforward is that in Jonathan’s case, there appears to be some kind of international understanding that he should not be ridiculed. The reason being that most African leaders in the past — I say ‘most’ because not all of them; some of them have successfully handed over in the past when they lost election. But most of them have developed the habit of clinging on to power even when they lose elections. Most African leaders manipulate the electoral process to suit themselves. They do this not only because of the peculiar reasons; they do this because of the fear of life after power.
Therefore, the world and Africa have always encouraged presidents who have lost elections to hand over peacefully. And in return, there is some kind of behind-the-scene international understanding that such African leaders should be given their pride of place in history, so that it encourages others to toe the same line with honour when they lose elections. In Jonathan’s case, therefore, any attempt to humiliate him publicly will discourage other African leaders who lose elections to hand over because they will easily refer to his case. And this may lead their nations to unnecessary civil strike or war.

PoliticsIf Jonathan Had Defeated Buhari, SEE What Could Have Happened by alaamword(op): 4:42pm On Dec 13, 2015
Daily reading new trends in Nigeria, revelations of how billions and trillions of Naira were looted from Nigeria’s treasury under the Goodluck Jonathan administration continue to hit Nigerians like a Mike Tyson blow. No one had envisaged the extent of the rot. In light of this, INFORMATION NIGERIA takes a look at the 6 things that could have happened had Jonathan won in the election and returned as president:
1. These revelations made about the moneys allegedly looted by Sambo Dasuki, Okonjo Iweala, Bashir Yuguda, Dieziani Alison-Madueke etc, would most likely have never come to light.
2. Nigeria will currently be paying back money spent for the PDP campaign despite the terrible state of the economy due to continue fall in crude oil price.
3. Since Nigeria would still be under the grip of the PDP, most state government would be run by the PDP. The ones lost in the election would be gotten using the election tribunal.
4. The likes of Obasanjo, Tinubu, Buhari, Sanusi, Oshimhole, and other individuals who spearheaded the ‘Change’ martyr would have bowed their heads in shame, while folks like Amaechi could be a familiar face at the EFCC instead of have dinning at the Aso Villa
5. More hilariously so, Dame Patience Jonathan would continue to proudly give Nigerians a taste of her sensitive grammatical constructions, not the silence she is giving Nigerians now.
Don’t you agreehuh?

CrimeDrug Kingpin El Chapo Declares War On ISIS With Chilling Threat by alaamword(op): 7:05am On Dec 11, 2015
Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, one of the world's most wanted drug lords has reportedly 'declared war' on the Islamic State in a threatening letter for destroying his cartel' shipment that went through the Islamic state's caliphate. He sent an encrypted email to the ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi after one of his cartel's shipments was destroyed by them.
His letter, which has been leaked by cartelblog.com, claims his men will "destroy" the terror group if they continue to 'impact on their operation'.
The Mexican drug baron, who runs the notorious Sinaloa cartel, allegedly told Al Baghdadi that his organisation are 'not soldiers' but 'lowly p*****s'.
He allegedly wrote:
"Your god cannot save you from the true terror that my men will levy at you if you continue to impact my operation.
"My men will destroy you. The world is not yours to dictate. I pity the next son of a wh*** that tries to interfere with the business of the Sinaloa Cartel.
"I will have their heart and tongue torn from them.”
El Chapo, nicknamed "Shorty", has been on the run from police since he escaped from the maximum security Altiplano prison - 55 miles west of Mexico City - in July.

PoliticsCross River Govt Suspend Perm. Secs. Over Suspension Of Morning Devotion by alaamword(op): 10:22am On Oct 31, 2015
The Cross River State government has indefinitely suspended the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education Anne Odey, who last week released a statement suspending all forms of morning devotion in schools across the country.
The State Security Adviser (SSA) to Governor Ben Ayade, Jude Ngaji who made this known to newsmen yesterday in Calabar, explained that indeed the state police commissioner, Henry Fadairo, had contacted the state ministry of Education about a possible attack by Boko haram members during early morning and afternoon devotions in various schools.
Ngaji said the permanent secretary unilaterally took the decision of suspending the age long practice of morning devotions in the state, without consulting the state governor.
"The governor has directed that the permanent secretary be suspended indefinitely while the ban on suspension of devotion has been lifted immediately. It is true that police got intelligence information that Boko Haram is planning to bomb schools during morning devotions and therefore directed authorities in the Ministry of Education to act fast.
But the permanent secretary did not bother to refer to the governor or call for stakeholders’ meeting to that effect.
So, the governor feels pained that the permanent secretary got such sensitive information without seeking for his advice and went ahead to issue directive suspending morning devotions in schools," he said.
He added that the governor is a strong believer in God and will not do anything that will prevent people from worshiping God.
don't worry governor when they bomb like 3 school. nobody will advice you to stop it
