Do the following in your CV as we approach the new year for better opportunities.

1. Remove personal details from your CV.
While you may have included private details, such as your date of birth, your marital status, and your nationality, on your CV in the past, this is now considered an outdated practice.
Employers don't want to receive information about the details of your life, as they have no bearing on your qualifications, experience, and skills.
If the top of your CV still includes your complete home address, then it's time to remove it. These details are unnecessary at this stage of your application process.
There is no need to include the house number, and street name, on your CV, just use location and state, such as Surulere, Lagos State. Ketu Lagos State. Festac Town, Lagos State. Lekki Lagos State. etc. with the mention of your location the employer will know if it's possible for you to commute to the office.
There are also safety risks associated with putting these personal details on your CV.

2. Optimize your CV for the 'hiring bots'.
The Application Tracking System (ATS) has not really replaced the human part of the recruitment process, they will prioritize candidates in a way that makes it easier for employers to shortlist them. If you're planning to search for a job in the new year, it's important to optimize your CV to ensure it won't be filtered out by the ATS.
To ensure your CV is 'ATS-friendly', use a simple format with clearly marked headers, avoid images (photo) and unusual fronts, and save your CV with your full name.
There are still some ATS platforms that cannot convert PDF to word and will discard CVs that are saved in such document formats. Read the job requirement to know which of the format is required before applying for the job.
It's also incredibly important to tailor your CV to a particular job role.

3. Soft Skills
Employers are more important about your soft skills. The following soft skills are recommended:
A. Adaptability and flexibility
B. Communication
C. Critical thinking and problem solving
D. Collaboration and teamwork
E. Time management and project management

Soft skills vs hard skills
Soft skills are often associated with customer-facing careers, soft skills develop with time, and they come as you gain experience on the job
Hard skills are the learned technical abilities that you acquire through training for a specific job.
Your soft skills and hard skills should be relevant to the role you're applying for, these will help the employers know you're bringing value to the business.

4. Optimize your work experience and achievement section.
List out your work experience with the most recent position you held. Each work experience should be accomplished with achievement.
