Another thing I discovered about this phone is "being remote control". I found this app called ZazaRemote on my phone and tried it out on some gadgets like Samsung DVD and LG TV, guess what; it worked perfectly on them.

Superb phone I say.

Team,

I want to crave your indulgence to please stop sending messages to me. I receive a lot of unsolicited messages that add no value to me as a subscriber. Many a times, I found it difficult to read my messages since the whole box is full of your messages.

My phone number is 08038304849.

I will appreciate it if my request is granted. Some of the short codes through which the useless messages are sent are 32285, 33550, 5021, 5032 e.t.c.

Thank you.

Sorry guys, I got my gionee M5 three weeks ago and the phone is wonderfully OK. The only issue am having is storage. I can't make use of my SD Card; everything I download or receive including pictures go to directly into the phone's memory.

I can't move application to the memory to purge the consumed phone memory capacity.

Pls what can I do?

Food / Re: Photo Of A Baker Sleeping On Piles Of "Agege Bread" by Alameen3: 6:06pm On Jan 08, 2014
This cant be Agege Bread, of course no Baker will ever do this cos of cost implications unless the Baker has a spell on him. I had worked in a bakery when I was in secondary school and I know what happens to the bread if anything rest on it. So I agree with someone who said it looks like NYSC bread, na so e look like, I remember the one I used to eat back in Akwa-Ibom then at camp.

So don't be panic guys, enjoy Agege bread and Ewa Agoin. Lols.

I think Ideye should be dropped and give room for Ik Uche. The guy is wasteful and ll make Nigeria eat humble pie when he cannot convert chances against big teams. Oduamadi should also be dropped as he doesnt add value to the team. Experience of Odewingie could be useful too.He has learnt his lessons and I think he should be given a second chance.

Islam for Muslims / Re: A Chinese Emperor's Poem About Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by Alameen3: 9:36am On Nov 16, 2013
Allohrandy: Did Mohammed really exist or he is just a fictional creation? I still don't have any hard evidence that he once exist.

Let it be known that no prophet will be sent to you to offer explanation on whether Prophet Muhammed existed or not. You are not the first one to say this but I thank Allah for making me a Muslim who has the benefit to read Taorat, Injeel and the Holy Quran given to Moses, Jesus and Muhammed (A.S) which give Muslim wide knowledge of the prophets especially Prophet Issa (Jesus).

Quran made us to know that whoever disbelieve the miracles surrounded the life of Jesus is not a Muslim and will be punished on the day of judgement. We Muslims believe everything said about Jesus except that he is never a son of God and the Holy Quran clarifies this in Quran Chapter 112 and that he is not GOD in Chapter 5 verses 72-75. Also that he was not crucified but lifted to the heaven by the Angels from the hands of enemies.

These teachings of Quran and Prophet Muhammed prohibit any Muslim in the entire World to insult Issa (Jesus) or have you seen anyone doing that? But we stand by the facts about him cos we are Muslims and he is one of our Prophets sent to the People of Israel.

Peace be on to you.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Pig Fat In Shoprite Bread? by Alameen3: 6:25pm On Nov 03, 2013
waleadex: This topic is a reminder of my curious days of wanting to know why swine is forbidden in Islam. I asked questions, made researches and I have got something to share here.

Religious restrictions on the consumption of pork are not in Islam alone but Jewish dietary laws (Kashrut). Such restrictions originate from the laws of the Hebrew Bible, and from the laws of the Muslim Quran, respectively. Among Christians, Seventh-day Adventists consider pork taboo, along with other foods forbidden by Jewish law. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria discourage pork consumption.

For the major purpose of this topic,to be a Muslim means that one sublimates one's desires, wants, and preferences so that they are in accord with the Sacred Law of Islam. Our Sacred Law is derived from several primary sources, the first, and foremost, of which is the Qur'an. The next source of guidance is the Sunna, or living tradition of Prophet Muhammad, the Beautiful Exemplar, Allah bless him and give him peace. After that, an important source of Sacred Law is the consensus of the Muslim scholars, who have devoted their lives to the study and interprete the Qur'an and Sunna.

The following points explain various aspects of this prohibition:

1. Pork prohibited in Qur'an
The Qur'an prohibits the consumption of pork in no less than 4 different places. It is prohibited in 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115.
"Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah." [Al-Qur'an 5:3]
The above verses of the Holy Qur'an are sufficient to satisfy a Muslim as to why pork is forbidden.

2. Pork prohibited in the Bible
The Christian is likely to be convinced by his religious scriptures. The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus
"And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you".
"Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you." [Leviticus 11:7-8]
Pork is also prohibited in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy
"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass." [Deuteronomy 14:8]
A similar prohibition is repeated in the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.

3. Pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck due to its anatomy. To slaughter any animal, Muslims make an incision through the jugular veins, leaving all other veins and organs intact; thus causing the death of the animal by a total loss of blood from the body. This is similar to the Kosher laws of Judaism. Chemical analysis of this blood shows that it contains an abundance of uric acid, a chemical substance which can be injurious to human health.
There is evidence that eating pork has negative impact on health.

However, both Judaism and Islam forbid eating pork, as in the climate in that regions meat goes off easily. Since pork meat doesn't smell when it goes off one may not be able to tell, and get food poisoning.

Interestingly enough, chemical analysis of this blood shows that it contains an abundance of uric acid, a chemical substance which can be injurious to human health. Also, there are many harmful effects of the consumption of pork, in any form, be it pork chops, ham, bacon. Medical science finds that there is a risk for various diseases as the pig is found to be a host for many parasites and potential diseases as the pig's biochemistry excretes only 2% of its total uric acid content, the remaining 98% remains as an integral part of the body. I imagine that in antiquity it would have been noticed that those who frequently ate this meat were subject to various diseases and maladies.

A very nice analysis.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Pig Fat In Shoprite Bread? by Alameen3: 6:00pm On Nov 03, 2013
There is nothing cumbersome or rigid in the Holy Quran as explanations have been offered by Ullammahi, so don't be misled and don't mislead others. Pig is Harram and anything that comes from it is also harram. No controversy.

A tradition from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) below explains further:

From the Authority of Numan Bin Bashir "I heard the messenger of Allah say : "That which is
lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart."

Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim.

Let's us be guided, may Allah guide us.

Hello Nairalanders,

I received a mail from Blackberry on 23rd October, 2013 on the availability of BBM on Android phones starting from Samsung on the stated date and other Android and Smartphones to follow on 25th.

Politics / Re: BOTCHED DIPLOMACY AS Saudi-Arabia Deports 510 More Nigerian Women Pilgrims!! by Alameen3: 7:16am On Sep 28, 2012
I am a Muslim and I know that this rule of female pilgrims traveling with their Muharam (relations) exits (though, it has been so flexible over the years) but the Saudi Government is liable for not making their stand clear on this issue this year. Had it been they've told Nigerian Government, they would have clarified it to the pilgrims but never mind, they are human being and are bound to make mistakes.
Truly, Nigeria is very bad when compared to Saudi but that does not come up in the issue of deportation. Remember, not only Nigerians were deported but so it happens to other Nations with this condition.

May Allah help Nigeria.

Car Talk / Re: Your First Driving Lessons by Alameen3: 10:27am On Aug 03, 2012
Mine was in 2002, my elder brother took me and my brother to the field that day and explain every functional part of the car and what they do while driving. Later he asked my partner to drive first because he is older than me. He started teaching him could not get it and ask him to get down. Now it is my turn, I advanced to the driver's seat, start the car, applied the clutch, gear and the car started moving. It was a big surprise to my and started showering praises on me. He scolded my partner more than enough but me, I was happy as I was the one that drove us home for the first time. I felt like I was at the TOP of the world and that was how I started driving.

Religion / Re: Bishop Oyedepo To Muslim Sister : “Convert To Christianity Or Die Poor,” by Alameen3: 10:56am On Jul 29, 2012
Oyedepo is a disappointment to humanity and a proved man of devil. How can U̶̲̥̅̊ put your blood sister on condition before she could be assisted? Was jesus rich? No,he was very poor as evident in both Quran and Bible; so, who are u following, jesus or devil? A lot of Christian students have been admitted into Muslims owned institutions and were not being forced to convert. If ur followers are all blind, they should by now know that u are nothing but a devil sent pastor.
To Alhaja Sarat, be contented and Allah will provide for u. Muslims in Lagos should please come to her aid as part of what islam preaches more so in this month of Ramadhan. Nairalanders should get her account number for assistance from anyone that cares.
