Politics / Re: Xenophobia: Nigeria Gives South Africa 24hours Ultimatum. Threatens Action by Alarib(m): 4:38pm On Apr 20, 2015
Ilekeh:
Ultimatum?

Igbos need to clam down and seek shelter. Your chest beating should stay within the borders of Nigeria. When shit hits the fence, innocents will pay. As usual.

Yorubas don't give ultimatums. They go about their ways peacefully.

This is time for Nigerians to strategize, not offer threats and ultimatums.

I see Deji Adeyanju and Tolu Ebun as the names of the organizers.....i still do not understand how this became a tribal issue....??

undecided where did you get your ideas from? Especially number 1, like seriously? That was utterly ludicrous. Smh!!!!
.

Number 1 is actuially very credible wen u remove the "unkempt" part. I've met a lot of beautiful ladies who are untidy and lazy.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: should I retain or take this new job - pls advice by Alarib(m): 7:46am On Dec 31, 2014
Well....based on the fact that I took same risk sometime ago, I'd say u analyse both jobs well enough. If the new contract is going to last @ least say 6 months then go for it.....but there should always be a clause that if u are let go off before the stipulated time then u are entitled to a pay off. With Ur current job of 40k it might take u light years to send ur mum or siblings cash...or even save for a business which would supplement ur income.....and is also a contract job which could end @ any time as well.
Pray God guides u in making this decision.

The mall looks small and dirty for a city like Lagos . Shoprite needs to upgrade their facilities and stores

Dirty? I guess you've never been there then. The phrase 'too small for a crowd of that capacity' should suffice.

Did I hear you mention pure water? A lot Nigerian graduates are filled with ego and these has made most of them Passed Over so many Opportunities Repeatedly thereby remaining POOR. I used to have this mentality that some jobs and trades are meant for illiterates or school drop -outs but it is all lies. Any graduate that find it difficult to secure a job should go learn a trade. I did that before securing a job and I'm better off now cos I presently combined my job with my trade and I'm currently considering leaving my job to face my trade squarely. smiley

the pure water is just an illustration.... grin....I was just trying to hammer the fact that coming up with ideas no matter how "lowly" it might seem is gold. Sometimes i try to imagine how much money the first toothpick manufacturer made before the market became flooded with them.

Let me help you with more

Or maybe work as a factory worker, or perhaps, hawk gala on the streets of lagos. Maybe go to learn tailoring or barbing after spending years in school.

Yes, there are many extremes you can cite. But there are several other things (though not the best) better than the ones listed up there and the likes.

As an example, how about the installation of DSTV dishes? The installation of a single view dstv costs 5000 naira. Ooh, yes, I know, it's small money but I want you to consider the fact that we have hotels and organisations where at least 20 decoders are used. Do the maths. Wait, I'm yet to tell you you'll get at least half of your profit buying materials?

Yes, it's not easy getting those contracts, getting them is not meant for the lazy which of course, proves his point.

Yes, it's a job not befitting a masters degree holder but the immediate question that comes to mind is, is staying at home all day long better?

N.B: I just used DSTV installation as an example, there are several other things that can be done.

Thank you for this reply....I think most people just don't recognise opportunity....its always there...in various forms.....imagine if you sold pure water to the thousands of people that wrote the last immigration test in a single center.......just imagine...
