PoliticsRe: Buhari Extends His Sick Leave by Unspecified Number of Days by AleXis0r(m): 5:15pm On Feb 05, 2017
It's obvious. The man is sick and he told us he was going on vacation. Ok agreed. But tell us about your health condition so that we could at least pray for you.
The extension of this "vacation" makes it obvious that something is off.
Anyways, until I see @Mbuhari post as regards this on Twitter, I'll still be waiting for his return tomorrow.
Nigeria is in too deep a mess for the President to be increasing vacation time.

I honestly find it hard to imagine that a country that invests so little in education will turn out to be great in the near future. Besides those in those terrible looking classrooms with pretty unlearned teachers, there are thousands hawking the streets especially here in the North. These uneducated ones will have to find a means of survival when they grow up and become independent. And you say you want to erradicate terrorism and corruption?? Worst of it, majority of such people are Islamists. Where are we heading to Nigeria?? We sincerely aren't addressing the most vital issues.
Christianity EtcRe: Does A Nigerian Pastor Truly Need A Private Jet? by AleXis0r(m): 2:33pm On Dec 18, 2016
TWO THINGS:
1. IF YOU ARE AN ATHEIST, JUST SHUT THE F UP! I DON'T THINK YOU ARE FIT TO SUGGEST WHETHER A PASTOR NEEDS ANYTHING AT ALL. YOU DON'T EVEN BELIEVE HIS COURSE IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO YOUR OPINION IS NOT NEEDED.
2. IF YOU ARE A BELIEVER AND YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR PASTOR/CHURCH POSSESING ANYTHING AT ALL, IT'S NOT A HARD TASK. NOBODY IS HOLDING YOU DOWN. YOU CAN EITHER DECIDE TO STOP PAYING TITHES, OFFERINGS AND SEEDS. OR YOU CAN JUST GERROUT OF THE CHURCH AND GET A PLACE WHERE THE PASTOR RIDES A BICYCLE. IT'S THAT EASY!

“At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. And the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.
Deuteronomy 14: 28 - 29

Are you sure you have a full grasp of the Biblical tithes?
Numbers 18:21 (NKJV) "Behold, I have given the children of Levi ALL the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting."
You must note the context of the text you quoted. The pretexts suggest another kind of tithe. And note the duration: "after every three years."
FYI, there are three kind of tithes as recorded in the OT:
1. Levitical - Numbers 18:21ff
2. Feasts - Deuteronomy 14:22-27
3. Needy - Deuteronomy 14:28&29
Blessings.

Firstly, the Levites in the Bible are not the same as modern Church workers or ministers. There is simply nowhere in the Bible that this connection is made.
Secondly, even if we accept your equivocation then you have only made an argument for workers i.e the choir members, the ushers and even the poor widow that cleans the church when nobody is around. Where is their own share of the tithes? You have not made an argument for the so called 'Men of God' to receive tithes since it is clearly not a requirement to be eligible.
Please explain clearly how Men of God are eligible to receive tithes since that was your sole excuse for Oyedepo to receive tithes.
Thanks.
Except you are against tithing in the New Covenant. I've stated that from the Bible, tithe was meant for specific people(the Levites). The pastor is a minister and servant in the church. How else should a pastor feed if not by the tithes? You do not give a tithe expecting that it goes to the needy in the society.

You say the Man of God is entitled to tithes and yet there were many men of God in the Bible who were not entitled to tithes. For instance, Elijah who is the quintessential Man of God would not have been eligible for tithes as I think he was not a Levite.

So how are modern Men of God eligible to receive tithes?
I'm glad you know the Levites received tithes. This means tithes were SOLELY for workers(the Levites) in the temple. For the reason that they have devoted their lives to service in the temple.
So, if you pay tithes, you should expect it to be for the ministers and servants in the church, or else why do you pay your tithe?

Some people just find a job in criticizing men of God. Worst of it is that even the unbelievers condemn them too. The man of God is entitled to tithes and they are SOLELY for his wellbeing. He is not answerable to anyone on how he chooses to spend it. So just keep your mouth shut and do what God has sent you. All those critics have not even done up to 0.001% of Good Works these men of God have.
EducationRe: OAU Predegree Admission 2015/2016 by AleXis0r(m): 7:41pm On Dec 05, 2016
Evening... This is to every intending predite...
I've heard your resumption begins tomorrow. And I believe y'all have paid the fees. But there is something VERY important ALL of you must know even a you resume. You might not be told this early enough but you must know it now before it's late!
I'm not here to discourage anyone but to give my candid advice to y'all out of experience.
Before now, pre-degree was the best alternative to getting an admission into OAU besides UTME screening.
But as at this very moment, pre-degree is no longer what you think it is. It is now as good as rewriting your WAEC or NECO.
As an ex-predite who finished this year, I cannot express the disappointment we have faced concerning our admission into OAU. I won't even begin to tell you about our struggle during our 9 months in Moro.
Everything just turned into a total disappointment.
JAMB has succeeded in frustrating our efforts and have made 9 months of hard work a WASTE.
Pre-degree requires that you cross JAMB's minimum cutoff of 200 to be considered for admission. But the UTME was all watered! We wrote the exam which we all believe was simple, but a large number of us were disappointed with the results. Seeing that we reached the minimum cutoff of 200 gave many of us a sigh of relief as we were told that our admission wasn't relative to how low or high our UTME scores were.
We all chilled, focusing on our pre-degree tests and examination. At the end of the program, to a larger extent, some of us had enough confidence that our PD scores could give us our courses as it had been for years. But to our amazement, our scores were made less relevant and our pre-degree choices of course were made totally irrelevant. Jamb decided to be evil toward us. They changed their policy, introducing a 50:50 formula where our admission will have to depend on our UTME scores as much as it did our Pre-degree final score. I don't think a vast majority of us that came for the program would have come if we were told of this formula in the first place. It's so disheartening.

You must have paid the fees already, so you can't undo that. Now, you can heed to my advice:

So long Jamb continues with this policy, then have this in mind:
If you have an excellent O'level result of A's or B's, then pre-degree is a waste of time for you. It would be near impossible to get the scores you've already got with your O'level result.
But if you have not too good O'level, then pre-degree might just be your chance.
But either way, a high UTME score should be your focus.
So, begin preparation right now. Pray hard so you don't just get any kind of score like what happened to a good number of us in the previous examination.
Don't just aim for 200 in jamb. It would be useless. Aim for a far much higher score! JAMB don't really care about you, so brace up!
Shalom.
