*NEA2020: Chiedozie Akwiwu Honoured As The Most Enterprising Personality Of The Year*

One of Nigeria's fastest growing innovative Enterpreneur and Investor, Mr. Chiedozie Akwiwu, the Managing Director/CEO of several agencies and organizations in Nigeria and across the the globe, has been recognised and honoured with the prestigious Nigeria Enterpreneur Awards. He further stated that his outstanding performance and innovations as the Managing Director of Doak Integrated Resources and as also the CEO of Paynergy Nigeria has kept him in the spotlights of enterprising personalities in Nigeria.

In a reaction from the award recipient, Mr. Chiedozie Akwiwu, expressed appreciation and thanked the Advisory Board of the prestigious Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award (NEA) for the nomination and eventual presentation of the prestigious award. Key stakeholders in Anambra State have continued to finger Godwin Maduka as the right person to take over the reins of governance from Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

Anambra State is holding it's governorship election next year, a contest expected to be titanic considering the array of contestants jostling for the number one job in the state.

However despite the multitude of governorship aspirants, the governorship ambition of Godwin Maduka of the PDP, has continued to elicit attention and support from well meaning Anambra people.

A cross section of Ndi Anambra who spoke on the governorship race, agreed that Maduka is the ideal person to be the next Governor of Anambra State.

They anchor their support on the basis that Maduka has shown capacity by becoming a global brand in medicine in the United States, where he set up one of the best medical facility, the Las Vegas Pain Institute,one of the best pain relief centres in the United States.

Mr Godfrey Okechukwu, a businessman from Awka who drummed support for Maduka, said he has demonstrated strong commitment to give Anambra people a new beginning which will translate to the socio economic development of the State.

He said "I have read so much about him. He will understand the plight of the poor and the downtrodden because he passed through the thorny path of life to get to the top.

"He is a clear example of grass to grace. And he will serve as a connection to the good people of Anambra State who have yearned for good governance for a long time"

Tony Ekwoaba and Onwurah Chinomso, in a article enumerated the giant strides of Dr. Maduka describing him as "a good administrator, a passionate leader and a man with rapt understanding of the needs of the people. Just as he has turned his community to a land of admiration and interest, he asks for an opportunity to transform Anambra State to a land of admiration and interest"

Mr.Clement Onyeasoh, a native of Ezira in Orumba South said the people of Anambra State needs a Governor to connect the State to the global Community.

He said "It is not all about billionaires coming out to join the governorship race in Anambra State. It is about one with the right ideas, contacts and exposure to harness the potentials of our State.

"Anambra State is blessed. We need a new kind of Governor like Maduka who has the capacity to make our State great. His antecedents speak for him. Popular Nigeria Abuja-based Comedian and Entertainer, Fred Bright has announced with grief and yet a joyful but painfully heart, the eventual glorious exit of his mother, Mrs. Janet Ofoma popularly referred as Lolo. She died two days ago after staying in coma for 4days at Jideofor Hospital in Enugu State.

Speaking exclusively to an Abuja press reporter, Fred described the loss of his mother as though regretful, but a call to rest. He says, "Haven lived a fulfilled life until age 90, my Lolo, late Mrs. Janet Ofoma's legacies would remain alive in my life and memory".

In his narratives, Fred Bright explained how beautifully supportive his mother was in building him as a man to have become what he is today. "May her soul rest in the bossom of perfect peace", he added sobering.

Arrangement are already ongoing for the event of the celebration of life and burial ceremony of Late Mrs. Janet Ofoma. Some others have described her as a woman of integrity, honour and a self-motivated discipline, which she ensured to impact in her children and everyone who knew her well.

Daughter of Nigeria Vice President, Kiki Osinbajo has condemned with great grievance the rape and murder of a 22year old University of Benin student, Uwavera Omozuwa in Benin.

Kiki, who has been one of the most vibrant, charismatic advocate of gender rights, in a statement which she posted few hours ago on her Instagram timeline, had spotlighted some of the misconceptions on the right and consent of the female gender at all levels.

According to Kiki Osinbajo, she described the situation as an extensive problem, stressing that those who think otherwise are a major part of the problem. In her statement, she expressed displeasure at the reactions on social media on the issues about sexual abuse and rape. She noted that the reactions are enough to explain why the bizarre inhuman behaviour keeps happening.

The Skincare expert, CEO of @glamdafrica and @konyinskincare, Kiki Osinbajo, had bitterly opposed the blames placed on victims or survivors, stating that, they are irrelevant and insignificant. She noted that “what a woman wears”, “why she is at a particular location or place” and other excuses, are not enough reasons to justify any form of sexual abuse been thrown at her.

In the statement posted and addressed to men, Kiki highlights her perception and she writes, “No is not shakara, no means no; whatever a woman is wearing or not wearing gives you no right; the fact that she is your wife or girlfriend doesn’t give you a free pass, consent must be given; at any point a woman can withdraw; lead by examples, respect women and let your sons see that women are to be respected and not objectified; everyone has the right to have a choice and other notable advice which she addressed to men.

On the other hand, she advised women to stop feeling like sexual abuse was their individual faults or a taboo which shouldn’t be talked about, because of how the society would judge or see them as damaged. Kiki encouraged them to speak up.

She also advised women to stop giving excuses for their sons, she encouraged them to raise their sons by instilling the same values as instilled in their daughters. She therefore called on women to stop shaming victims or accusing them of lying. Kiki concluded saying that “you are a mother, you are to offer listening ear, offer counsel and not condemn victims”, she added.


Kiki is making efforts to monumentally engage the monolithic national campaign on the rights of women, especially in areas of sexual abuse and assault. Her proactive interventions and advocacy will continue to create awareness to support campaigns and expositions on the bizarre and inhuman conduct. She has continued to lend her voice through presentations and encouragement speeches at notable international and national conferences on human trafficking and sexual abuse.

Chinwe Chibuike Foundation Visits Umuahia Correctional Prisons, Gifts Sanitary Pads, Food Stuffs, Others To Inmates

With the series of consistent humanitarian activities across states and communities in Nigeria by the meticulous Chinwe Chibuike Foundation, the NGO has yet again visited the Umuahia Medium Correctional Prison in Abia state. The CCF Team made the charity visit to Umuahia Prisons yesterday, with several aide materials for prisoners and warders.

The outreach to the Abia State Correctional Prisons was in-view of the Chinwe Chibuike Foundation's "No One Left Behind" Project. An initiative that focuses on consistently providing and reaching out to frontliners and prisoners across Nigeria, with food supplies and relief packages.

During the visit to the prison, CCF distributed several packages ranging across food, water, sanitary pads for ladies and toiletries to prisoners at the Umuahia Medium Correctional Prison in Abia state. Chinwe Chibuike Foundation also gave out food, drinks and other relief items to Personnels and workers at the Umuahia prison to encourage and support their activities.

According to reports, the "No One Left Behind" Project has been ongoing for months and several persons, prisoners and institutions have benefitted from the project, through one outreach or the other. Beneficiaries of the weekend outreach in Umuahia appreciated CCF for extending such humanitarian gestures to them. They thanked the Founder, Queen Chinwe Chibuike for her interest and commitments to care and love for humanity.

Chinwe Chibuike Foundation has been in philanthropic activities of providing healthcare, education and charity for all. In Nigeria, our well-distinguished religious groups and wide ethnic identities have created distinctiveness easily tagged with physical attributes. The exploitation of this reality by political and other interest groups has continued to create and cultivate division among us, which sadly manifests through hate speech.

Director, Research Training, Islamic Education Trust, Nuruddeen Lemu, defined hate speech as any kind of communication in speech, writing, behaviour that attacks, uses pejorative or discriminatory language, especially with reference to a person or a group on the basis of who they are, based on their religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, colour, descent, gender or other identity.

Lemu noted that hate speech when left unaddressed, could lead to violence or hate crimes against marginalised groups, stressing that hate speech was capable of destroying a country.
Hate speech is defined by the United Nations as "any kind of communication in speech, writing, or behavior that attacks or uses pejorative or discriminatory language concerning a person or a group based on who they are, in other words, based on their religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, color, descent, gender, or other identity factors."

because it sows seeds of violence.

Hate speech has destructive impacts on our society. It promotes violence, leads to conflicts that destroy lives and properties, and promotes hate crimes against marginalized groups. Hate speech creates division in society and while hate statements may not immediately incite violence, they can promote intolerance and anger.

We must employ sustainable rhetoric when we discuss issues that bother our society. Forms of rhetoric like hate speech will further reap us apart, destroy our livelihood, security, and development.
The peace of our communities is the responsibility of everyone there for it is our collective duty to fight against hate speech. Avoid making or spreading posts with hate statements on your social media platforms.

The 15-man medical team from China who arrived Nigeria on April 9 to help contain the Coronavirus pandemic flown out of the country.

This was disclosed by Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, whose husband, Matthew Ekeinde is a pilot.

She took to her Instagram page to announce that her husband was embarking on his first flight in two months due to the shut down of the nation’s airspace.

Sharing a picture of her husband and his co-pilot fulled kitted in a face shield and a mask, she wondered if it was the new normal.

The Nollywood diva eventually added that he was flying the Chinese doctors who arrived Nigeria in April back to their base.

The 2020 global May 27th Children's day celebration was indeed momentous, as a non governmental organization, the African Scholars Care Initiate-ASCI, launches a multimillion naira water borehole project, to provide water for Locals in Jahi Community, at LEA Primary School in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The event of the commissioning witnessed the presence of notable resident Personalities in Abuja, including, Dame Julie Okah-Donlie the Director General of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Senator Steve Azaiki, Senator Philip Aduda, Nigeria Representative of African Union, Dr. Tunji John Asaolu, representatives from the Nigeria Police and other notable individuals, NGOs and Partner organizations. The borehole contruction was in view of its Running Water Project, which ASCI launched recently.

The 2020 May 27th Children's Day Celebration commenced immediately after the commissioning of water project and witnessed the distribution of food stuffs, Senitizers and other aide-materials, including facemasks to strengthen protection in containing the novel coronavirus virus pandemic. Children and adults within the community were indeed overwhelmed at the humanitarian care and interest of ASCI for humanity.

Speaking with the Founder of African Scholars Care Initiative and Convener of the 2020 Childrens Day Celebration event at Jahi, Queen Joy Onumajuru expressed pleasurable satisfaction, especially with regards to the joy and ease of survival the foundation has been able to create in the Jahi Community. She further noted that the borehole was constructed to cushion the spread and effect of Covid19, by encouraging regular hand-washing by kids, therefore ensuring that schools are safe.

Queen Joy therefore called on the federal government to allow kids resume back in school, as her foundation will continue to promote campaign on hand-washing in schools for kids. She however appreciated her partners, team members and sponsors for their support in making the program a success. Some of which are Hemz Foundation, Heritage Bank, Primary Health Care, Alexreports etc.

African Scholars Care Initiative is an organization that was founded in the fundamentals of providing education empowerment and scholarship grants to African children amongst families and communities below average income earning, starting with Nigerians from across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria. The foundation is also working earnestly to help ease the challenges created the recent coronavirus outbreak, especially for persons living in rural settlements.

The governorship aspiration of Dr. Godwin Maduka, ahead of the 2021 Gubernatorial election in Anambra state received a boost at the weekend when Anambra Good Governance Group (AGGG) threw its weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) front runner, Dr. Maduka.

The Coordinator of AGGG, Ichie Ike Ejiofor, who was speaking with journalists in Awka, said his group is solidly behind the governorship aspiration of Dr. Godwin Maduka because of his antecedents.

Ichie Ejiofor noted that the Umuchukwu born Billionaire Medical Doctor was the first person who in rare demonstration of his philanthropy and charity gave out palliative materials to cushion the effects of Covid-19 to his community in Orumba Local Government Area, his council area and the entire 181 communities in the state.

This gesture according to the coordinator of AGGG is second to none and worthy of commendation.

“Dr. Godwin Maduka through his Foundation ‘Godwin Maduka Foundation’ distributed palliative materials such as food items, 60 bags of 5kg rice each to the 181 communities that made up the 21 LGs in Anambra state through the President Generals of each Community.

“Also, Godwin Maduka Foundation through Radio Sapientia 95.3 FM Onitsha doled out cash of ten thousand naira (#10 000) each to many widows across Anambra state. These are acts of love that cannot be swept under the carpet.” Ejiofor noted.

He however pointed out that Dr. Maduka’s philanthropic gestures actually started long time ago as many people have benefited from him in the past.

“All the governorship aspirants in the PDP fold are eminently qualified to give Anambra State five star governance, but Dr. Godwin Maduka is outstanding among them all.” He stressed.

The Coordinator expressed the preparedness of his group to take the good news of Maduka to all the nooks and crannies of Anambra State for the purpose of mobilizing support for the governorship aspiration.

“AGGG has structures in all the 21 local government areas of Anambra State and we are prepared to mobilize these structures for the actualization of his governorship aspiration because, we've seen in Dr. Godwin Maduka a man that is willing to give Ndi Anambra the best, Dr. Maduka is committed to transforming Anambra State,” Ejiofor concluded.

Popular Abuja Showbiz Enterpreneur, who doubles as the Project Director of Miss Health Pageant and also as the Host of Comedy Assembly, Nick 'B' has raised alarm over the recent hijack of his Facebook account, after it was hacked few days ago. He expressed worries as fraudsters who hacked his FB account are currently in the business of extorting his Facebook friends.

Speaking with 'Nick B', who is also the manager of Tonto Dikeh Foundation, Abuja Press gathered that the fraudster who hacked into his account was using an unverified online investment package to extort monies from his contact. Earlier today, Nick B shared evidence of chat which fraudsters had with his Facebook friends. He however called on his friends to ignore any of such proposals on Facebook, as it wasn't him, but the handworks of fraudsters who recently hacked his account.

He therefore assured that forensic investigation have immediately commenced to fishout the perpetrators of such fraudulence, as he advised the scammers to immediately put a stop to their scam-activities, because when caught, justice must be served.

He has also appreciated his fans for their understanding on the rescheduled date for the 2020 annual Comedy Assembly, which did not hold because the recent Covid19 stay at home order. Being the oldest Comedy Show and event in Abuja, he assures fans that the event will be held immediately after lockdown and stay-at-home order.
