A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from tampering, or marking(sealing) properties belonging to Trademore International Holding Ltd in Abia State.

It would be recalled that operatives of the EFCC had sometime in July this year sealed off Trademore company over alleged links to Sen. T. A Orji, a former governor of Abia State, who is said to be under EFCC investigation over corruption allegation.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that the property under dispute has no direct links to Senator T. A. Orji, it was gathered that the estates located in Abia State, had remained sealed till date.

Trademore had taken the anti-graft agency to court challenging the sealing of its building and asking that it be unsealed, in a suit marked "FHC/ABJ/CS/696/2020", a copy of which was made available to journalists.

In an Ex Parte order granted July 20, 2020 by Justice I. E. Ekwo, the court restrained the EFCC and its agents from further interrogating, harassing or arresting Trademore boss or any other staff of the company “pending final determination of the suit.”

A copy of the Ex Parte Order was addressed to the Acting Chairman of the EFCC by the Court after counsel to the plaintiff(Trademore), N. J. Kalu, Esq., alleged that the defendant(EFCC) had refused service.

Amongst other prayers, the plaintiff(Trademore) is asking the Court for ... ;

*An order of this Honourable Court declaring that the defendant unlawfully trespassed into the plaintiff estates located within Abia State which estates are:
i. Luxury apartment estate located on Akanu Ibiam Street along bank road, Umuahia
ii. MIllenium apartment located along Finbars Street Umuahia,
iii. Ogwumabiri event centre located along Okpara Square, Umuahia
iv. Trademore estate located between Ngwu (Bende L.GA) and Ubani Ibeku (Umuahia North LGA).

*An order of this Honourable Court declaring the sealing and taking over of the Plaintiff estates located within Abia State as unlawful and illegal

*An order of this Honourable Court declaring that all Plaintiff estates sealed by the defendant is owned by the plaintiff

*An order of this Honourable Court directing the defendant to unseal the plaintiff estates forthwith and remove all the notes placed on the estates

*An order of this Honourable Court directing the defendant to write a letter of apology to the Plaintiff for the wrongful sealing and taking over possession of the Plaintiff estates located within Abla State

Meanwhile, Mike Ozekhome’s Chambers, Legal Practitioners and Notaries Public, solicitors to the Trademore’s chairman, has written a Caveat Emptor Notice to the general public.

In the Caveat Emptor Notice published on PUNCH newspapers, on Thursday, the law firm insisted that Trademore Int’l Holding Ltd were the real owners of the property sealed by the EFCC.

*3RD PALLIATIVE: Celebration In Bende LGA As Mercy Uwakwe Foundation Distributes Bags Of Rice, Beans, Noodles, Others*

A renowned Non-governmental Organization in Nigeria, Mercy Uwakwe Foundation in collaboration with Mercy Wave Conglomerate have on the 17th of July 2020 commenced the 3rd phase of its palliative program tagged "3rd Mercy Wave Palliative Outreach". The outreach commenced at Bende Local Government Council Headquarters in Bende Local Government Area of Abia state.

During the outreach and palliative distribution exercise of the 3rd Mercy Wave Palliative Outreach, the Team Mercy Uwakwe Foundation distributed several food items and relief material to people living across Bende LGA. Chinwe Chibuike Foundation In Collaboration With Healthy LiverCare Initiative and African Youth Union Commission Hold 1000 Man Walk Against Hepatitis In Makurdi


One of the frontliners of the several and ongoing salvage humanitarian projects in Nigeria, the Chinwe Chibuike Foundation has yet again joined Healthy LiverCare Initiative and African Youth Union Commission to hold 1000 Man Walk Against Hepatitis. The awareness campaign walk on hepatitis was held on the 25th of July 2020 at IBB Square Markudi in Benue state.

The 1000 Man Walk Against Hepatitis was in view of Chinwe Chibuike Foundation's committment to support person suffering with Hepatitis related illnesses. According to reports from the humanitarian activity in Benue State, the team from Chinwe Chibuike Foundation and the two other NGOs created awareness, screening exercise, testing and vaccination for persons living Markudi, Benue state.

Speaking with the project coordinator of 1000 Man Walk Against Hepatitis, she described the exercise as successful, considering the turnout, interest, participation and impact which the program recorded. She stated that the project will be a continuous, as the Foundation will continue to visit more communities as regards the awareness, screening and vaccination of more persons within Nigeria and across Africa.

During the exercise in Markudi, beneficiaries of the 1000 Man Walk Against Hepatitis expressed appreciation and gratitude at the concerns, care and thoughtful love they received from Chinwe Chibuike Foundation, Healthy LiverCare Initiative and African Youth Union Commission. They stressed that it was a timely intervention, as hepatitis may have become one of the most dreadful illnesses which must be addressed headlong.

Dr. Emeka Okorocha and Dr. Ikenna Ihim tackle the challenges of minorities in Medicine.

Dr. Emeka Okorocha, went viral on social media and in the newspapers for his quote on his social media accounts “if you celebrate me in my scrubs, don’t hate me in my hoodie”. Dr. Ikenna Ihim also went viral on social media and the newspapers for his compassionate writings on his social media account regarding our current fight against COVID 19 and for his posts which create more awareness and encouragement to black doctors.

They are both currently treating critically ill COVID 19 patients in the hospital, but in different continents. Dr. Emeka lives and practices in Britain , while Dr. Ikenna lives and practices in the U.S.A., however they both face the same challenges as minorities in medicine. Both entities have become embraced by the medical communities and are also now brand ambassadors to several medical apparels and businesses.

Their level of success did not prevent them from recognizing the need to create more awareness for the black community. With their large social media following, they decided to hold a live discussion to get the word out and to encourage and inspire future minority health care providers. Their aim was to inspire young black kids in both continents whom have hopes to become physicians, but are not positioned to do so due to their lower socioeconomic status. They also called to caution on the black patients whom are statistically less compliant with regular physician checkups and medication adherence until their chronic health issues become to less manageable.

As descendants of Nigerians, they also gave tips on how foreign medical doctors can transition from their countries into practicing in both U.S.A. and Britain. Lastly, they provided tips on how to overcome what most young black physicians like themselves experience, including the term “you do not look like a doctor”.

The outreach by Alhaji Shehu Endowment Foundation was carried out to introduce and mark the birthday of its Founder, Prince Asawana, popularly known as Alhaji Shehu, who will be plus one today- 26th July. Speaking with Abuja Press, Prince Asawana stated that the focal point of the outreach was to touch lives, help the less privileged and make indelible impacts, by giving back to the society.

In recent times, the Alhaji Shehu Foundation has continued to support and initiate programs for sustainable development across states and Communities in Nigeria. Few weeks ago it sealed a partnership deal with an International NGO, called Charity Table Foundation. The partnership exposed the scope of activities and humanitarian networks of Alhaji Shehu Foundation, thereby extending it charity activities to those in actual need of help and assistance.

According to reports and reactions from beneficiaries of the outreach program by Alhaji Shehu Foundation, they appreciated the foundation and thanked its Founder, Prince Asawana for the thoughtful gestures and concerns he had for less privileged persons. They prayed for more grace and mercy of Almighty Allah upon him.
