One of Nigeria’s leading airlines Dana Air, has extended its multi million sponsorship deal with Uyo based Akwa United fc of Akwa Ibom State for the 2018/19 League season.

Speaking at a brief ceremony in the conference room of the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, the Media and Communications Manager of Dana Air, Kingsley Ezenwa said, we are back again to extend what we started last year. We believe in Akwa United and the club actually did well last season and looks good for the next season.''

''We are also committed to developing sports particularly football in Nigeria. We are the first airline to have taken this step towards making our league glamorous and we hope other credible organizations will follow because we believe that our league can actually get to that level.’’

Speaking further Kingsley said, 'for us at Dana Air, it’s not just about flying to Akwa Ibom state, but contributing positively to the growth and development of the state.''

The Dana Air spokesman also congratulated Nigerians and the super Eagles on their qualification for AFCON 2019 in Cameroun, saying ‘we are proud of the Super Eagles of Nigeria for bringing glory to our country Nigeria and for encouraging us to continue to believe in our greatness.’’

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Akwa United, Elder Paul Bassey described Dana Airlines as worthy partners and expressed delight that the contract has been extended for another year.

NIGERIA FASHION SHOW REALITY TV SERIES - The Unveiling

20 young designers will be presented to the public in the unveiling event of the Nigeria Fashion Show reality tv series scheduled for Transcorp Hilton Hotel on Sunday 25th November 2018. These young and upcoming designers were selected out of over 200 designers from all over Nigeria. They were shortlisted
from 3 zonal screenings held 16th, 18th & 20th October in Abuja, Port Harcourt & Lagos respectively

After the unveiling event, these 20 designers will be put in an incubator workshop (a house) for a month from where 10 designers will be eliminated. The final 10 designers will be presented at the grand finale of the Nigeria Fashion Show which will take place in Lagos in June 2019. The best designer at the grand finale will as usual be declared Nigeria’s best designer

The Nigeria Fashion Show is the first and only national fashion event in Nigeria. It is a competition for young and upcoming fashion designers from across Nigeria. It has been the biggest designers contest in Nigeria. Past winners had shot up to the top of the Nigerian fashion industry after winning the NFS.

Prizes had included all expense trips to participate in the international edition of the Nigeria Fashion Show in Paris, Milan, New York, London etc. Past winners and participants include Zizi Cardow, Deola Sagoe, Mudi Africa, Frank Oshodi, Modela Couture, Nobel Afrique, Kese Jabare etc.

The Nigeria Fashion Show over 2 decades reoriented Nigerian designers to looking inward for inspiration
by encouraging them to using local fabrics, accessories and designs. It also reoriented Nigerians to patronizing Nigerian designers by wearing locally made clothes hence the permanent theme ‘NFS says dress Nigerian’

To this end, the event makes it compulsory for all participants to use only locally sourced fabrics and
accessories for their production line. As a result, the Nigeria Fashion Show is usually rich in content because
participating designers draws inspiration from over 250 ethnic groups from across Nigeria

goal is to discover and create new entrepreneurs in the Nigerian fashion industry.

Dana Air has assured its guests of its commitment towards ensuring that they do not bear the impact of the imminent strike action by the Nigerian Labour Congress scheduled to commence on 6th of November, 2018.

The airline in a statement signed by it Media and Communications Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa, said the airline will available to reschedule or reroute its passengers at no cost to the passengers.

The airline rued the inconvenience of the likely effects of flight disruption on its passengers and the huge loss of income on its part, however appealed to the Federal Government and the organized labour to find a middle ground and resolve the issue in the overall interest of Nigerians and the economy.

‘While we regret the inconveniences on the part of our guests who are already on our scheduled flights for the week, and the likely loss of income on our part, we appeal to the Federal Government and the Nigerian Labour Congress to find a middle ground and resolve the issue in the overall interest of Nigerians and the economy.’’

NAHAC 2018: DR MIKE OMOTOSHO CONDEMNS POLLUTION, SAYS ITS A POTENTIAL TSUNAMI DURING THE NATIONAL HEALTH ADVANCEMENT CONFERENCE

The 2018 maiden edition of National Health Advancement Conference and Awards - NAHAC, has defined a new demand on our national interest and collaborative efforts, as Dr. Mike Omotosho, the chairman and guest speaker, stresses on pollution as an issue of national concerns and worry.

The conference and awards event, organised by the founder of Help Keep Clean Foundation, Queen Chikezie Ijeoma Stella, was themed, Reawakening National Awareness on Environmental Health Hazards and Safety.

The ceremony witnessed the dignified presence of Her Excellency, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saraki, wife of the distinguished senate president and Founder, Wellbeing Foundation Africa, who was represented as the special guest of honour, Hon. One of Nigeria mainstream humanitarian organisation and non governmental Institution launched their Ghanaian subsidiary in Accra last Saturday as part of efforts to help the needy in society.

The launch was held at the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra amidst donation of some items to the underprivileged and special students.

The items include boxes of digestive and other biscuits brands, Kalypo, power milk,books, shirts, bags of rice, candies, soft drinks and gallons of oil.

The Prince Osisioma Foundation was founded by renowned Nigerian philanthropist, Prince Onyeka Eze, in 2013 to, among other objectives, foster education empowerment among underprivileged people in society.
It has since empowered a large number of less privileged people, including orphans, internally displaced people and more others.

It has successfully sent back to school over 1,000 students in various levels of education. It has also offered scholarship to over 110 students in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

By the end of 2027, it has estimated to award more scholarships to over 2,500 students in Nigeria and abroad through its ‘Build A Leader’ project.

The launch in Ghana is part of the project to affect lives positively. It donated items such as bags of rice, gallons of oil, boxes of Milo and Indomie, among others, including branded T-shirts and caps.

Emeka Jesse, national coordinator of Prince Osisioma Foundation, who spoke at the launch, expressed their excitement to work in Ghana, promising that the foundation would be doing a lot of charity works to help the needy.

The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State His Excellency Rt Hon Henry Seriake Dickson will be recognized on his Effective Leadership and Economic Development alongside other top influential personalities across Africa at the 2018 Africa Value Awards scheduled to hold on November 17th, at Nigeria Air Force Conference Center, Abuja. The Executive Governor who is among the honoree for African Value Awards received the award ceremony management team ahead of the event.

The prestigious award established to recognise African citizens and also honour Governors, Legislators, Captains of Industrials and other esteemed Africans in various fields of endeavours while President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame will also be receiving an award.

The historic 2018 National Health Advancement Conference and Awards - NAHAC, has recognised the outstanding commitments of institutions and individuals who has worked earnestly in human advancement and national development.

Amongst the renowned institutions that were recognised at NAHAC 2018 is Juremi Foundation, which was awarded as the "Leading Humanitarian Foundation of the Year. Mr. Hamza, the PRO of Juremi Foundation, received the award in the company of Miss Ambassador for Peace 2018 Winner, her Majesty, Queen Nene, in a vibrant presentation of gratitude, expressing appreciation to the honour bestowed on the foundation.

Juremi foundation has been adept in creating opportunities for the less privileged, building skill acquisition centre, providing vocational training equipments and distribution of relief materials at orphanage homes and IDP camps across Nigeria.

The first ever conference and award initiative on national health advancement, may have defined a new path, as the World Health Organization presents control strategies for health hazards at the 2018 National Health advancement Conference and Awards, held on the 25th of October in Abuja.

The speech by country Representative, WHO Nigeria, Dr. Wondi Alemu, who was fervently represented by Mr Edwin Isotue Edeh, the National Consultant, Public Health and Environment, World Health Organization highlighted the overall benefits of individual and community commitment in the control of health hazards in Nigeria.

Mr. Edwin pointed out strategies like, personal hygiene, community sanitation, efficient use of personal protective equipments, strategic dialogue and influence policy as key factors to the prevention and control of health hazards in Nigeria.

He also stressed on the issue of Water Sanitation Hygiene - WASH, as a unique intervention to health development in primary schools across Nigeria.

The event of the 2018 National Health Advancement Conference and Awards witnessed a powerful welcome address by the convener, Queen Chikezie Ijeoma, who introduced the theme, Environmental Health "Reawakening National Awareness on Environmental Health Hazards".
