An extravagant barber has become famous in Moscow and online for offering a unique, type of hair wash at his saloon. The Barber instead of shampoo, offers clients the option of having their hair washed with champagne. Vilen Knudaverdyan says he came up withe unusual service after performing it on a colleague, as a joke. The woman was leaving for another job, and during the farewell party they organized for her at the hair salon they decided to wash her hair with champagne. She apparently loved it, so he decided to offer it as a paid service for clients as well. Now his Moscow salon is famous for the champagne hair wash. Speaking about the reception of the bizarre hair wash he said in an interview: "The effect is fantastic, people feel like they are living the posh life. It is very popular and some of our customers even bring their own bottles of champagne to the shop." The process is fairly straightforward. Knudaverdyan first runs warm water through the client’s hair, then slowly pours champagne over it, and massages their scalp. It’s unclear if he rinses the hair afterwards, but he must, though, right? I’ve never washed my hair with champagne before and never will, but I’m thinking it might leave it sticky and smelly. But what do I know...lol. https://www.mojidelano.com/2019/01/this-bubbly-barber-washes-clients-hair-with-champagne/ cc seun lalasticlala

A blog reader has today reached out to MDB, narrating her ordeal in the hands of men of the under world, on her way to work on Monday. According to her, the robbery happened around 9am in the morning. Yes you read right, 9am of on Monday the 5th of November 2018. While robbery in Lagos isn't new, this case is peculiar because of the time of the day it happened. The Lady who pleaded anonymity was clearly still shaken from the life threatening ordeal when she spoke to MDB. She however mustered the strength to speak to us, to alert people by sharing her story. She recalled: On Monday morning I left my house in Lekki driving to work in Surulere. It was just like any other morning except for the slight traffic I encountered just about two minutes after climbing the bridge that leads to Apongbon. While I wondered about the cause of traffic by 9am in the morning on that route, I suddenly got hit by the the car in front of me, which jolted me back to reality. I was about to react but upon looking up, I saw a man shouting and pointing a gun at the lady who drove the car. My anger immediately turned to fear when it hit me that it was a mass robbery and I was next. Asked about how many robbers they were, she said: I couldn't really count but I think they where up to 3 or 4 at least and they were going from car to car. After the lady in front of me the robber moved to me. He shattered my glass angrily. He pointed the gun and started screaming for my phones which I quickly handed over to him. After collecting my phones, he started shouting <strong>" Owo mi da, owo mi da.."</strong> meaning <strong>"Where is my money?!"</strong> I quickly gave him all I had on me without hesitation. <strong>"What about that white phone over there?"</strong> He continued. I looked and saw that he was referring to my charger. I quickly picked it up an told him it wasn't a phone. He still asked for it and I gave it to him. She became very emotional as she continued: "After I gave him all my valuables, he still pointed to gun and kept staring at me. At this point I began to fear for my life and started pleading, appealing to him that I cooperated and gave him all I had. After seconds or maybe minutes-I'm not sure because it seemed like forever- he moved to the next car." "While the robbery was going on, there were <strong>yellow buses(danfo) </strong>around with passengers but everyone was helpless because the robbers were armed. After I was robbed they moved to another car but shortly after they scaped. The bus drivers and others quickly came to me and other victims to ask how we were doing. They attempted to go after after them but in truth nothing could have being done because they were armed and were long gone. She said that about 5 minutes after the robbery the road became free and she, along with some of the other victims drove to the point after the bridge at Apongbon where there were LASMA officials and Police Officers. "When we parked, before even narrating our ordeal, the traders around started to scream in Yoruba " Won tu ti de o, won Omo yi tu ti bere.." (meaning they have started again). This was because from the damaged cars an shattered glass they could tell it was a robbery. According to them a similar incident happened this week. Asked what the Police had to say about not coming to their aid despite been just about 10 minutes away, she said: "They claimed to have been unaware of the robbery and only became aware after we informed them. The Police officers together with the LASMA officers then tried to go after them but I knew it was an effort in futility. I left shortly after to my mechanic because my car was badly damaged. I had hit the car behind me just like the lady in front of me hit me after the robber shattered my glass with his gun." In conclusion, she said: "The guy who took my phone mistakenly picked up a call from my mum during the robbery, and the call was on for about 15 minutes till they got to their hideout. My family members were worried sick because they heard gunshots from when the robbery was going on said when the robbers got to their hideout, they rejoiced with glee at a highly successful operation. In fact, the one who had my iphone was asking about its value when they realised the call was on." " I decided to share my ordeal with you Moji to warn others and alert the Police. We all know that traffic robberies during festive season isn't new, but to happen at 9 am on a Monday morning shows the audacity and desperation of these robbers. Lagos is not safe at all. I really hope the Police will do something and station men on that bridge today because this is my daily route and now I have to deal with the trauma of reliving the robbery every time I pass the bridge especially when in traffic. I've not been able to sleep since the incident, because I'm still terrified and remember how the robber stared coldly at me even after giving him all my valuables. I just thank God for my life. May God continue to keep us all," she concluded. MDB has since reached out to the Rapid Response Squad Commander Tunji Disu, and he has promised to look into it and station bikes on the bridge from early in the morning. "We are doing everything within our power at the RRS to reduce the incidences of robbery in Lagos especially this festive season. We will henceforth station our men on the bridge and investigate the matter thoroughly to see that the culprits are brought to book", he vowed. To be robbed by 9 am in the morning on a route that she passes daily must have been such a traumatic ordeal. I feel so bad for the Ladies and others who were involved in this robbery, which sadly would have gone unnoticed but for the MDB reader who reached out to me. I was robbed on my birthday two years ago in traffic at Apapa so I understand very well how terrifying it can be. Thankfully, the Police are on it, but even more, lets be very vigilant and careful as the Yuletide draws nigh. https://www.mojidelano.com/2018/11/how-i-was-robbed-by-9am-in-the-morning-on-apongbon-bridge-in-lagos-lady/ cc lalasticlala seun |
Nigerian Influencer Hakeem Bhadmus popularly known as Bhadoosky on Social Media was this morning arrested by the Police – The Police men detained his wife and asked that he reported to the scene – He was told by the police when he arrived the scene that he ‘threatened someone’. He was then whisked off to the Akure, where the complaint was allegedly lodged – Investigation revealed that Cornerstone College Ondo, whom he called out for an action against some of their graduating students in July are behind his arrest – Nigerians upon hearing the story have through the hashtag #FreeBhadoosky called for his release, urging the Police to the right thing The hashtag #FreeBhadoosky is currently No 1 on Twitter following the arrest of one of Nigeria’s finest Digital Media influencers Hakeem Bhadmus, better know as @Bhadoosky by men of the Nigerian Police Force. According to a statement by the Digital Media Practitioners of Nigeria(DMPN), Nigeria’s foremost Digital Media body, he was arrested in Ibadan where he resides this morning after men from the Ondo State Police Command detained his wife to lure him to the scene. The statement posted on their official handle @DMPNig reads: Earlier this morning, news of the arrest of DMPN’s Vice Chairperson @Bhadoosky got to us. From our findings so far, his wife was used as a bait to lure him out of his Ibadan home & he was whisked away by the Police who refused to disclose any specific reason for his arrest. He has since been transferred from Ibadan to Ondo State where the Police claim he “threatened someone”. We find the fact that the Police cannot state the crime he is accused of very alarming, but even more, the draconian nature with which he was whisked away leaves more questions than answers. DMPN hopes that the Police is not being used as a tool for intimidation and harassment of an innocent citizen. We will love to make it clear that no form of intimidation, harassment or unlawful arrest of any of our members will be treated with levity. #FreeBhadoosky #FreeBhadoosky: Nigerians Call For Release Of Influencer Hakeem Badmus After He Was Arrested For Speaking Against Ill Done By Secondary School In Ondo The arrest which was allegedly ordered by Great Cornerstone College Ondo is as a result of a Twitter thread Bhadmus did on July 21, 2018. In the thread, he drew attention of the general public to an occurrence that had happened in the school. Bhadmus narrated with pictures how the school had printed names of students who refused to pay the sum of N5000 for purchase of a 32″ television set for the school. The names of the Students were printed in their send forth magazine as debtors. See embedded tweets below: What would you do if you find out your child’s name was printed on his/her school’s send forth magazine as “Debtor” because he/she didn’t pay N5000 to buy the school a parting gift? A school you were paying N104,000 per term for six years? Thread — Bhadmus Hakeem (@Bhadoosky) July 21, 2018 As expected the school received a lot of backlash after Bhadmus’s tweets went viral. Instead of addressing the allegations and making public their side of the story, the school decided to bully Bhadmus and his friend who informed him of the situation in the first place. His friend was arrested some weeks ago, but Bhadmus was arrested today, and whisked out of his state of residence Ibadan. He was taken to the Anti-Kidnapping unit at the Governors office in Akure, Ondo state where the school is located. See some of Bhadmus’s tweets this morning on the matter: So my wife called me some minutes ago to meet her at UI gate without stating reason. On getting there, I found out that she was with some officers of the @PoliceNG from Agodi Gate Area command. Let nobody fool you. APC especially the Lagos division is a goddam monarchy. Anybody who does not realise that is either living in a fool’s paradise or just floating in a codeine induced haze. Someone sent me this picture of a young candidate from I suppose Osun state vying for a an electoral position paying homage to the Lord of Bourdillon, the maker and breaker of all that is within his territory. Looking at this picture, I smile with respect for the kind of influence and power the Jagaban has amassed for himself over time. Quite remarkable I must say. I have seen people who helplessly pray that the empire should end without being able to lift a finger to ensure this happens. Well, the man has laid his bed, let him lay well abeg. You see this candidate understands the strategy. Printing campaign posters, speaking big English or even spending bags of money are all exercises in futility if you do not have the blessings of the throne in Bourdillon. I tell you, we all know that and it is the worst kept secret in Nigeria’s politics of today. You must at least know someone in Bourdillon if not you are just wasting your time. Me, I used to know the Chef. At least the only one time I met with the Asiwaju, I greeted him. He was carrying a tray of food and running behind the Asiwaju who was too busy in various meetings to bother about the carefully prepared Moi-Moi and Ewa Agoyin. Yes Asiwaju eats o, he is human na. He even goes to the toilet, I can swear to it o. It was in this milieu that I sought the chef’s advice on my ambition in Shomolu. He looked at me and said I should not bother that he already had his candidate endorsed by the Lord himself so I should not waste my time. So in this realisation, I have come up with the following tips on securing Asiwaju’s endorsement: Never go to Bourdilon on Monday, that is his day in the Other Room Never go through the chef, he has candidates When you eventually meet his majesty, remain kneeling like the captioned picture Never shake him o. Even if he offers his hands just keep your head bowed. If you have ever been to Chicago state University tell him. If not still mention that you drove past the gate. Drop his wife’s name and mention just how she has remained beautiful despite her age Never mention the following names – El-Rufai, Saraki, Oshiomole in your treatise. Read psalm 23 before you enter. If you are muslim read the equivalent When you get rejected as you would most likely be, still prostrate and thank him for the rare opportunity. Finally, never stand up to walk away from the Asiwaju, crawl on your belly away from his presence. My advice to all candidates, is not to invest in the APC Nomination Forms until you get a clear green light from Bourdillon. In fact it is better you settle the gateman at Bourdillon to buy the Visitors Form at that gate than for you to go buy APC Form . I don give my advise, I dey go sleep. They say it was Donald Trump that said it o. He was said to have called our dear President 'lifeless'. This is what Yoruba people call 'ebu ira'. So because he saw our resident, lean and looking a little bit tired from the fasting and the pressures of state he now concluded by describing him as lifeless. He is the one that is lifeless, with that his yeye hair and small hand. See who is calling who lifeless. Buhari Joseph Edgar You cannot be yabing our President like that even if the man looks like that and expect us to keep quiet. We will not keep quiet. Must you say everything? No matter what our president is or looks like, he is still our President. After all, he has not been accused of cavorting with Prostitutes and Pornstars, he is not undermining our Nation with unstatesmanlike behaviour with known enemy of states. He is our President, leave him, we like him like that. If you see the way, this thing is paining me, you will begin to wonder why. After all said and done, I may not vote for his re-election but the truth is that as at today he remains our President, our symbol of unity and Nationhood and as such cannot be yabbed or dragged like that in the mud. That one sef, when he himself will not be respecting himself. Why won’t they disrespect him. Small thing he has run there to go and call us names. Shebi, he was the one who was calling our youths lazy and our people corrupt. Na wetin he dey find so he don see . If you do not respect your people in front of your hosts, they will also disrespect you. Na only lifeless dem don call am now, them go soon call am the am name him papa no give am, make he continue. In these era of junk journalism, it comes as no surprise that one will see such ridiculous, baseless stories making headlines. Online publishers, Bloggers need to do better. Even more, Nigerias need to ask valid questions when people try to tarnish the image of a brand. I bank with FCMB and GTB and I have no problems whatsoever with them. No bank / brand is perfect but so far these ones are doing great. |
Renown Nigerian Raggae act Ras Kimono is dead - The singer who dominated the music scene in the 90's died today in Lagos - He was to travel abroad yesterday but complained of not feeling too well - Music veterans Shina Peters, others are currently meeting to deliberate on burial arrangements Legendary singer, known for the hit singles like Under Pressure and 'We no want' Ras Kimono is dead. The renown singer who was in the fore front of the Nigerian music revolution of the 90's is one of the most accomplished Raggae acts Nigeria has ever produced. He died today in Lagos. Metro News reports that was to travel to United States last night, and he complained of not feeling too well. He was rushed to an hospital in Ikeja, Lagos then later taken to Lagoon Hospital in the Island. As at press time , music veterans Tony Okoroji, Sir Shina Peters, others are meeting to make burial plans. Ras Kimono's debut album Under Pressure, led by the single “Rum-Bar Stylée”, was a big hit in the Nigerian music scene in 1989. Kimono served a long apprenticeship on the Nigerian music circuit, experimenting with a number of styles, before making his late 80s breakthrough as a reggae singer. Together with his Massive Dread Reggae Band, Kimono released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 1989. Accompanied by the popular single, ‘Rum-Bar Stylee’, this revealed both a Jamaican and native African influence (the latter particularly evident in his ‘patois’ delivery, as frequently employed by Fela Kuti to communicate with the urban underclass). His strongly polemical lyrics produced album sales of over 100, 000 copies, and a fervent following for his advocacy of social change. What’s Gwan proved even more successful, with the topics selected including legalisation of marijuana, and the need for Africans to intellectually repel colonialism and its arbitrary boundaries between tribes. Most controversially, he was not averse to naming directly those in power he saw as synonymous with backdoor imperialism. Despite his success and achievement's he remained level heads, which is perhaps why was very respected in the music industry. In a recent chat with Sunday Scoop, he said, “I have never smoked and I don’t drink alcohol. I tell people I have been a vegetarian for 37 years. Even when my friends were having sex with two girls at the same time in those days, I didn’t join them. I have never done what these girls and boys call party despite being famous and I am sure there are other people who have never done that too. “When people attribute recklessness to youthful exuberance, I get worried because I once passed through that stage too. I believe it is all about your upbringing. The fact that you are young doesn’t mean you should be wayward.” Speaking about his unwillingness to change his music to appeal to a younger audience, Kimono stated, “I have been playing reggae music for years and I don’t plan to change my style or dilute it. Those who want to listen will surely do. The truth is that you can force a horse to the river, but you can’t force it to drink from it. We still have a lot of youths who know my value. I don’t believe that all the youths are senseless. “I believe two million youths out of five million youths know the difference between good and bad. If I had changed my style, I would probably not be here talking to you. I am certain the media would have crucified me that I did it for the love of money. My brand of music has kept me alive and still makes me relevant.” More details to follow. https://www.mojidelano.com/2018/06/breaking-legendary-reggae-artist-ras-kimono-is-dead/ cc seun lalasticlala

In recent times, the spate of fraud on social media especially Instagram has become very alarming. On some days, MDB gets up to 7 direct messages/emails from different readers who want to report one fake account or the other. By the time the report is made , it usually is too late because often times the fraudulent sellers mysteriously disappear off Instagram. Some other fraudsters are more brazen, and dare the buyer(s) to do their worse, leaving them even more angry but helpless. Worst part is, the Police most times are unable to trace these social media fraudsters as they leave little or no trails in their wake . Against these background, here are some precautionary steps to take before purchasing any thing on Instagram. 1.Throughly go through sellers page and look out to see if the pictures are stolen: Some of these scammers who camouflage as genuine sellers steal pictures from others and use them with the real owners water mark. Check to see how personal photos of their wares are i.e.... professional photos of a product and check if the person has same photo taken by them in their store etc or even video(s) of them talking about the goods/product. Also check for their own personalized watermark on pictures posted on their page. Most times scammers won't go through the trouble of having their own unique logo, or watermark. Please note that a seller could be authentic and still not pass this test. 2. Longevity: Before purchasing lookout for how long the seller as been on Instagram. Most times scammers have very recent accounts because they are forced to change names and start new accounts often. 3.Check for testimonials: Often times, real sellers post testimonials from other buyers to encourage new buyers and boost sales. If you see no testimonials at all, it may be a red flag. Of course some genuine sellers may forget to post testimonials so look out for other signs. 4. Delivery: Fraudsters on Instagram often promise to deliver under 24 hours or less, whereas those running genuine online businesses averagely give 2-3 working days sometimes more. Multiple deliveries and pending orders etc are some the many reasons some online businesses find it difficult to deliver under 24 hours. Although some businesses deliver you order pretty fast, this is an exception not the norm. So a promise to deliver in 24 hours may be a scam. 5. Check for a proper store address in their Instagram bio: One of the surest but not certain ways of determining if a seller is genuine is that they usually have a physical store(s) where you can walk in to purchase their goods/products. Although a scammer can add a non existent address(especially after reading this article lol) the chances are slim. The down side to this however is that some genuine sellers strictly operate online businesses( especially those who just started business) and do not have stores. Instead they work with delivery companies solely to deliver there products/goods. 6. Ask for referrals: This simply means you don’t buy from a seller unless someone you know and can trust has purchased goods from them. 7. Pay on delivery: This is perhaps the surest way of avoiding getting scammed on Instagram. This way, you see what you’re buying first, collect it before making payment. To be more certain, consider holistically the factors listed above before purchasing anything. This is because some fraudsters may pass one or more of the tests and some genuine sellers may fail. As a result, its better to tick most of the steps enumerated or stick to pay on delivery. Even better, DO NOT purchase via Instagram at all to avoid stories that touch. You're welcome. cc seun lalasticlala http://mojidelano.com/2017/08/7-ways-to-avoid-getting-scammed-on-instagram/

Blog reader Kemi who shared her story with MDB to warn others of the latest trick fraudsters are now employing, she was defrauded in the banking hall and didn't even realize until the fraudster was gone. Read below: When I got to the bank today, I had a hundred thousand (1N100,000)to deposit. While filling my teller, a man walked up to me because I didn't have a pen with me. He got me by giving me his pen to use. He appeared to have a huge amount of money but in five hundred naira denomination. My money was in one thousand naira denomination. He said he needed one thousand naira denominations, and in return he would give me the equivalent in 500 naira notes. I don't know what came over me but I counted 50k and gave it to him. Then he counted 50k in five hundred naira denomination and gave me. We both counted it over four times and it was complete but on getting to the counter, to my greatest surprise the total money 87,500. Whereas we both counted and the money he returned and it was 50,000 in 500hundreds. Like I didn't know what came over me to change him the money in the first place. I came to my right senses at the moment the cashier said the money wasn't complete. I was dumbfounded and unfortunately he had already left the banking hall. I had to deposit the 87,500 first . This is Kaila. Kaila is a healthy baby girl born with natural blue eyes. Her parents are from Delta state. Unfortunately people tend to be afraid of Kayla because of her beautiful blue eyes. They say it's scary. Her father's older brother also has blue eyes and had to deal with been discriminated against and stigmatized because of the color of his eyes growing up. In fact he learned to walk with his head facing down so as not to scare people away. Kaila and her uncle are not the only ones with this special gift. Other members of their family also have blue eyes or blue patches in their eyes. While I'm not a doctor, I know that there is a scientific explanation as to why they have eye color synonymous with Caucasians. I also know from my belief as a Christian that God wanted it that way. So that they possess blue eyes doesn't make them different from you and I. It is just a mutation and Kaila, members of her family and any other Africa with blue/ green or grey eyes should not be treated differently or made to hate themselves because the color of their eyes. Thank you. See Beautiful Baby With Nigerian Parents Stigmatized Because Of The Color Of Her Eyes This is Kaila. Kaila is a healthy baby girl born with natural blue eyes.
