CelebritiesRe: Research By Harvard Highlight Income Loss And Structural Challenges For Afrobeat by alfredilly: 6:02pm On Dec 12, 2025
SixSeven:
Here’s a message written with the assistance of AI. Africans must learn to tell their own story and be proud of it. Stop waiting for oyinbo to validate all you know. I see the OP mistake beat with beats too

🎶 AFROBEAT vs AFROBEATS — Seun Kuti Sets the Record Straight 🎶

A lot of people still mix these two up, so here’s what Seun Kuti recently said — and it’s eye-opening 👇🏾

According to Seun, “Afrobeats” is not a real genre.
It’s a title, a broad label created to group different styles of modern African music. Today’s Afrobeats artists can jump from amapiano to dancehall to pop — meaning there’s no single, consistent sound that defines it.

He even pointed out that Amapiano is now being called the new Afrobeats, which shows how fluid the label has become.

On the other hand, Afrobeat (no ‘s’) — the music pioneered by Fela Kuti — is a clearly defined genre with its own structure, instrumentation, and strong political message.

So in Seun Kuti’s words:
👉🏾 Afrobeats = a marketing label
👉🏾 Afrobeat = a real genre with roots, rules, and resistance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x09tZBMhm4

Fela stops a performance here when his band man makes a mistake. How many of our afrobeats can play an instrument? They are just commercial papers for the people exploiting them. It will come out in a few years.

What we popularly call Afrobeats today didn't start as Afrobeat. In fact, it has little element of Afro identity. They were all musical piece inspired by the ambition to identify with global music culture. Before their emergence, African musicians showcases various brand that is rooted in indigenous culture and tradition. There was Juju, Apala and many more in Yoruba land. A more nationwide song was highlife but that cut across west Africa.

Afrobeats as it's now called was inspired by modern singers who aspire for global appeal by imitating hip hop and other western style singers. American music was the biggest drive and several foreign song were adapt by local musican like Olu Maintain ( e g I catch cold). The Eddy Remedies comprising of Idris Abdulkareem, Toni Tetuila and Eddy incorporated raps with indigenous language modelled in foreign style. There were also the plantation boys of Tu face, face and black face.

The advent of social media popularize the music among global audience who struggled to find specific identity for it. Then came the coinage Afrobeats.

Before then, only Fela Kuti could be credited with anything called Afrobeat when he transformed his highlights by infusing it with Jazz. What we currently called Afrobeat is cheer opportunism. Nothing more.
EntertainmentRe: American Sports Are Turning Up The Volume Of Afrobeats by alfredilly: 9:48pm On Dec 04, 2025
wallrichy:
I like your spirit, more like you quickly did a research on the origination of AFROBEATS. Yes, Fela Kuti, the Abami Eda, the mysterious creature pioneered afrobeats in the sixties. He didn't bring Afrobeats to Nigeria from the US, he was the Afrobeats himself, an enigma of a man, an oracle of no nations. He was Afrobeats and in him Afrobeats was created and gifted by the Olodumare, the god of our fathers, Olorunwa. He was so much into africanizm that he fused hip hop, highlife, Yoruba songs and general African freedom songs into one orbit translating into Afrobeats......Yes, he was energized, inspired by the like of the great Martin Luther King and others struggling for the freedom and better living for the black Americans. He was also inspired by the transition of colonialism into Statehood of no conscience in Africa, the soldier boys radicalism of nationhood etc......that's the inception of Afrobeats, then it wasn't a song but a statement of freedom, addressing injustice, hope to the hopeless and an essence and appreciation of being a black person.
The current trend of Afrobeat has nothing to do with Fela Kuti. Yes, Fela is an originator of an Africanized global music genre but the modern day Nigerian song take has no historical ties to his brand. They all started as hip -hop, dubbed Nigerian hip hop in those days. The advent of social media saw witnessed the promotion of song on the platform. Then came streaming which give enhanced popularity to the Afro pop. The global audience who tryto find an identity to the genre, dubbed ut Afro beat

I did that on purpose because aiming at the context which is you will never find Muslims killing anyone by alledging that they are witches. It is a Christian beliefs that is very historical even in far Europe let alone Africa. Such is rampant in the Southern part of the country that is predominantly Christian. Pay more attention.
Which hunting is condemnable but those who believe it's existence and the evil associated with it could present a strong case for the killing. It could be termed self protection and the protection of larger society. Can you find argument for people fighting a war to defend God and the prophet? A prophet who died hundred of years ago.

Let's break it down:
- 7 men + 7 wives = 14 adults
- Each of the 14 adults has 7 children, so:
- Total children = 14 x 7 = 98
- Total number of people = 14 adults + 98 children = 112

So, the total number of people is 112..

To those getting 63.
The question didn’t say each couple. It said each man and wife
Each man and each wive is the same as each couple. If a man has 7 children, his wife also have children

HealthRe: Do You Know Anyone That Have Inner Ear Vestibular Disorder? by alfredilly: 3:30pm On Oct 20, 2024
vickertony:
Guys I need help....

Recently I was diagnosed with inner ear infections or inflammation.

I can't walk properly without the fear of losing my balance or falling.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Or you have an Idea someone that has experienced similar disorder..

How did they cure it ?
Been taking drugs given to me at the hospital, but still have that feeling of falling and lack of balance.

I feel dizzy as well..

Please I need suggestions.
. Recently, I experience dizziness that became persistent and lasted for few days. It was accompanied by nauseous feeling and I think its similar to my moms complaint whenever she's experiences. My mom has been on Stugeron drug for more than two decades, a prescription that help control her symptoms. Why mine came last year, I was worried if I'm not being attacked by something genetically linked.

As the symptoms persisted, I did a few online research and stumbled on a helpful medical advice. My conditions was similar to what the journal described as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. BPPV affect the inner ear and sometimes results from sleep position. The article suggested a therapy knowñ as Eplay Manoeuvre. You can Google search that if you think there is any similarities with my experience. Eplay Manoeuvre is simple and can be done to correct the misplacement in either ear. I did as suggested and got immediate relief. Few hours later, I felt normal. I've experienced that again few months after the first time and Eplay Manoeuvre was my resort.
.
The Therapy required you to first sit upright at the edge of your best. This is just for positional sake. Your hand relaxed. Place a pillow behind you on the bed in such a way that when you lay on your back, the pillow will be at your shoulder level. Whilst still sitting, bend your head at angle 45 degree, that means sideways but not completely flat at your shoulder level. In that position, rest your back on the pillow behind you. the pillow at shoulder level. Your head must remain bend at 45 degree. You know in this case, your head will be tilted more backward. Wait a few minutes ( you can Google search for the duration but everything doesn't take more than 10 minutes I guess) . After few minutes in this state, if your head is bending towards the left, change your posture by turning 90 degree and laying on your side. Remain in the position for few minutes. You can repeat the procedure for the other ear. I think I've provided much of the tip but you need Google search for a more detail procedure

How long have you had it, mine started last year August. I have spent so much money visiting the Teaching Hospital in my state so I just stop going to the hospital and praying for God's healing.

I take strugeron anytime I sense the dizzinesss but try as much as possible not to take it all time. I haven't taken it in one months. There are days I feel the dizziness but not intense.

I don't think it has a medical cure, you just have to manage it. I'm still going to try another ENT doctor very soon.
My mother take that Stugeron. She's the reason I know about the drug and she's been on the medicate for more than too decades. I think it treats general case of Vertigo.

For me, UK is just overrated.

I don't like the place one bit!!

I rather go to Finland, Poland, Australia, or Canada.

Many foreigners in the UK, especially Blacks, are in catastrophic situations that they were not suffering at home.

It is never like before; they want you to go back to your country.

Nigerian should realize that UK is too small to accommodate the teeming influence of immigrants it's subjected to. The housing facility is overstretched. Rather than seeking opportunities in other developed countries like Germany and France, Nigerian travelling to Europe will rather choose UK as their preferred destination due to language barrier.
