PoliticsRe: Nigerian Mdas Paid Over N159bn Into Private Accounts In Six Years by alfredilly:
The annual budget of Nigeria that keep surpassing the previous one, would have translated into general development of the country but the culture of corruption deploys it for the benefit of the larcenous public office holders and their underlings. The corruption is a network of functioning ruiners who works harmoniously to keep the system going unhindered. Or how do one explain this form of coordinated assault on Nigerian by men who are put in charge of every unit of it's governance hierarchy.

ViceGovernor:
The implications of the onslaught against these terrorists in Abuja is that they will now migrate to the neighboring states.

And if those states do not sit up they will spread fast.... I've seen it happen before in my state the military gave them hot bombardments in Niger state and they crossed into Kogi state and mixed with their kinsmen, till today my state is still battling to get rid of them.
The route have been a haven of kidnappers iin recent years. In fact, a similar incident occured in 2019 and I only missed it by the whiskers. It occured in similar fashion, two precia bus were matched into the bush by kidnapper. More worrying is that the kidnapping always takes place in Ondo axis of the road.

Akeredolus remained the worst performing governor in term of security and Ondo Amotekun were mere weakling in Uniform. Even though the event that led to the introduction of that security network took occured in Ondo after pa Fasoranti daughter was killed by suspected herdsmen. Aketi much vaunted commitment to the region security was only verbal and an attempt to be in good eye of the public. He's late now, but the current crisis is arise from his undoings.

This is about the failure to contend with the growing economic environment. I said it here earlier that the closer of some foreign multinational like P and G, GSK, Nestle is due to Nigerian preference for cheap and low quality product. To every Lux, there is premier cool, Kasmo and other product. To every Omo, there is Waw, good mama, So easy and other. These companies should have found a way of approaching the market in a new way, after all, they are richer and possess the resources to mobilize the best brain.
PhonesRe: NCC Grants Glo More Time To Settle With MTN, Suspends Partial Disconnection by alfredilly: 10:48am On Jan 18, 2024
NaijaNaWaa:
Can someone explain this to me: the owner of Glo, Chief Mike Adenuga, is said to be Nigeria’s second richest person with a net worth of $7.4 billion. How come then that he (yes, because he’s the sole owner of Glo) is owing MTN so much in interconnectivity fees? Is it that the reported wealth is fake or that he’s a notorious, insensitive debtor?

Who can explain this conundrum to me?
First, you need to understand that the man's wealth is tied to the profit generated by his own company. Now, given the financial strain of interconnection charges which is weighing against Globacom in their competition with MTN, it's not in the owners best interest.
But the big question is why Globacom seem to be at the losing end end here? And I've asked countless times why the necessity for interconnection connection. The service provider can limit their income to what they charge their subscriber. In this case, MTN is the bigger players. And if anything is justifiable in interconnection charges, it is the benefit accrued to company with lesser costumer. Company like Globacom can leverage on the call coming into it from the dominant network. Why is the balance tilted against them. Is it that MTN has remitted their excess charges but Glo is refusing to return the crumbs.
PhonesRe: NCC Grants Glo More Time To Settle With MTN, Suspends Partial Disconnection by alfredilly: 10:26am On Jan 18, 2024
Why is interconnection charges applaud in the first place. Consumer are in the receiving end of this fiasco. The service provider charges their respective subscriber through recharge card and their profit can be based solely on that. The only rational behind the interconnection charges is the benefit accrued to companies with fewer subscriber. Therefore company like Globacom can leverage their income with the dominant network like MTN through indirect charges to incoming call. And the big question now is why Globacom is owing MTN as the later should pay more

The good news is that a company is finally breaking multichoice's monopoly over sports in Africa, the bad news is that Nigeria and Nigerian companies are always no where to be found when issues like this are being decided, small countries and their companies decide while Nigeria, a supposed giant must obey decisions made by these tiny countries lipsrsealed, if they decide that Nigerians won't be given access to watch afcon, the decision stands embarassed
You guy seem not to wonder why Francophone countries have exclusive assess to the opportunity. This is beyond breaking monopoly, it's about France covert attempt to dominate the rest of African like it does of it's ex colonies countries. FamilyRe: Being A First Daughter by alfredilly: 5:51pm On Jan 02, 2024
OFunke24:
I feel so tired of being a first daughter. It feels my life is full of running errands and doing things for everyone but myself. I feel like a servant. I don't know who I am or my what I want to do in life. Im at home all day doing nothing but serving others. I feel so sad and tired of it whenever I remember I will still have to do it all again tomorrow not knowing when this will all end.

I see my siblings moving forward in life and I only have a Highschool certificate. My father didnt train me in school and frustrated all my mother's attempts to further my education. Yet all my siblings were put in school. I don't even have the time or mental space to run a business.

I want to leave and be on my own. I want to be able to hear myself. I want to wake up in the morning not thinking of what others will eat or errands that need to be ran. I don't want to think of lunch or dinner or worry about anyone else but myself. I don't even want to hear my name because it is always followed by one request or the other.

This holiday season I kept on thinking about how much I didn't want any family or guests to come visit because it would only mean more work for me. I would be the one living in the kitchen running around like a maid. It makes me feel so ashamed and less than. When people at home remember my running around they then start with the praises "Oh what would we do without you?", "Our second mother." "So hard working, what a strong girl." I don't want any of those praises. They make me feel worse because I don't do any of this by choice. I don't care for compliments for something I have no option but to do. Would any of them still say good things about me if I decided I was tired of living like this, of being at their beck and call? I want to be left alone. Because of these feelings I don't have any desire to have children. The thought of living like this again taking care of children makes me sad and I feel tired at the thought. I feel drained physically, emotionally and mentally. Sometimes I wonder if this is how it feels for all children and if I am just not cut out for this.
This shouldn't be the fate of a first daughter.
TravelRe: 11 Reasons Why You Should Not Japa From Nigeria by alfredilly: 4:38pm On Dec 25, 2023
Princewill1:
This is a rebuttal of this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/7936687/11-reasons-why-must-japa#:~:text=11.,life%20expectancy%20is%20very%20high.

DISCLAIMER:
There is a notion that once you present an anti-japa argument, you're automatically an agent working for the govt. I want to state here that I have never supported this Apc govt since their coming to power in 2015. My contrary opinion on japa stems from my detest of youths mass-migration for economic reasons. I see it as an act of cowardice and stupidity.

This is not just for Nigerians japaing alone. I'm also disgusted whenever I see pictures of thousands of able bodied Latino youths who are at the US-Mexico border begging to be allowed entry into the US. These youths coming to together to mass-migrate can also link-up to take back their country via any possible means. Because if their home countries were better, they won't be moving out enmass. One of the reasons why the citizens of the country you're japaing to often discriminate against you is because you have proven to be a weakling seeking an easy excape or an inferior who are incapable of fixing their problems.
The only mass-migration i support is if it's due to serious natural disaster or large scale political persecution like that of Israel-Palestinian conflict. Below are the 11 reasons why you shouldn't Japa from Nigeria.

1.) It's More Easier To Be A Dollar Millionaire/Billionaire In Nigeria:

There are millions of Nigerians in the diaspora who are supposedly living in the first world economy and are working in various fields of human endeavor. But it may interest you to know that non have ever made it into Forbes billionaires list. But those at home keep making the list back to back.
This is important to point out because wealth building is a crucial topic to every real man and majority of Nigerian men moving are doing so mainly due to financial reasons.
Truth is, Nigeria is the largest market in Africa and a developing economy. There are plenty of wealth to be created in a "developing economy" than in a "develop economy", that's why as you are trooping out, Chinese, Lebanese and Indians are trooping in. Nigerians are raising $20k-30k in this economy to Japa while average Americans can't boast of $10k in their bank accounts, they live check to check.

2.) African Communal Living:

Nigeria offers the African social support system that you won't find in the Western countries. You fit run into financial emergency, your family will gather to raise funds for you, if you child misbehaves outside elders go assist you to discipline the child before you return home, if your house is on fire the whole neighborhood will join hands in puting out the fire, if you're cooking late night and ran out of maggi, if you knock on your neighbor door, him go deliver you, if your co-tenant never see you for 2 to 3 days, he go knock for your door to check up on you. All these don't happen in your Japa destination. In the West, you fit dey sick and later kpai inside your room and stay there for over a month nobody go know until your body begins to the smell.

3.) There Is More Insecurity Abroad:

You are 7times more likely to be shot in any city in America than in Lagos. Almost every Western country has violent "Far-Right Groups" who are frustrated and bitter with their Govts for allowing influx of migrants to erode their society and culture. These groups are like a time bomb waiting to go off because they can easily turn violent by attacking migrants especially black people. The big truth is, insecurity especially in southern Nigeria is over-reported and amplified on social media. There are violent crimes in every country. The crime news you read on social media especially in South of the country is commiserate with our population. No one can pull out any data anywhere to show that crime rate in the South has reached an epidemic proportions as believed on social media. In fact if you ban social media for 1year in Nigeria and conduct an opinion poll on insecurity. You will be surprised that Nigerians will tell you that insecurity has reduced. Just recently, a govt minister was robbed on the highway in South Africa. If that were to happens in Nigeria, Japa will be trending in Nigeria for more than a week. Most Nigerians haven't seen a bokoharam militant before but bokoharam will attack a village in Borno State close to the border with Chad, someone living in Lekki will read the news online and tweet that he wants to Japa due to insecurity.

4.) Easy Access To Natural Foods:

Nigeria has abundant healthy cheap natural foods and it's even taken for granted here. The people in the abroad you wants to go are jealous of your menu. Unhealthy and disease-causing canned and processed foods are what you will end up to when you finally japa because you will pay through your nose to place your hands on any organic food there.

5.) Favourable Weather Condition Throughout The Year:

Nigeria has one of the best climate conditions you can find. We have no extreme weather here. No severe temperature, Tornado or Harricane. Weather conditions in your Japa destination can cause sudden emergency situations. It can sometimes cause a whole city to be evacuated.

6.) No Racism:

Truth remains that after you Japa, you and your family will at one point experience both subtle and harsh discrimination based on your skin color or accent and you will never integrate into the Western society not even in a million years. Black Americans that japaed 400yrs ahead of you are yet to be fully integrated and accepted, I don't know who is motivating you that you will be accepted fully or that your own case will be different.

7.) Nigeria Better On Raising Cultured Kids:

If as a Nigerian, you are cautious of how your kids will be raised, you better stay back home, because in the West, your kids doesn't belong to you. They belongs to the government and authorities there are free to teach and instill any idealogy they deem necessary. So don't be shocked if your 7yrs old son are taught how to switch gender or pronoun at school and given free lgtv literature with erotic images.

8.) Nigeria Better On Entertainment And Fun Activities:

You can fall into depression abroad due to loneliness and stress from doing multiple jobs but not in Nigeria. With little money in Nigeria, you can go partying and balling till dawn day in day out. You fit die onto enjoyment.

9.) No Weird Or Crazy New Culture:

Abroad will humble a deeply religious person who is against homosexuality to work as a caregiver for gay couples. You will be forced to embrace trans and gay people, feminism and made to reject polygamy. I doubt if men have rights in the West. You risk losing everything to a woman, this don't only apply to your wife. Even your long-term girlfriend who you are cohabiting with, can be given a share of assets after a breakup by the court. If a random woman accuses you of rape, the system will already treat you as a convict. I recently observed that premier league captain band is now decorated with pride colors (lgtv flag) to support the community. And you know what awaits any player that openly criticizes it or refuses to wear the band. He risk getting cancelled and he should kiss his footballing career a goodbye. They will use his punishment as deterrent to others. All these new crazy woke policies and behaviors are not practiced in Nigeria.

10.) Cost Of Living Is Cheaper:

Thousands of Americans and EU citizens are retiring like kings in South East Asia and South America ie Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, Chile etc. You can look it up. Not that they don't love their home countries but because they are excaping the high cost of living in the West. Accommodation, transportation, education, local foods etc are still cheaper in Nigeria. The amount you will paid on a match-box apartment in London or New York can fetch you a year rent of 2bedrooms flat in a good location in any major Nigerian city.

11.) No Rat Race Or Extreme Taxation In Nigeria:

You will labour abroad for a month and the rigged system will use "high taxation, high cost of living and the scam credit system" to return everything back to the system in order for you to repeat the circle again. In a bid not to go homeless on the cold streets, and also to put food on your table, you have no other option than to keep repeating the circle until the time you will finish your term of slavery due to old age, then your children will start where you stopped and the circle continues.
Truth is, the entire world is controlled by the globalists in the West, the further away you're from the West and it's entanglements the freer you will become. If the 1% elite in the West removes the rigging in the system you will be able to secure enough bags and retire early. But they stands to lose if people starts excaping the system early, they need your manpower for longer period of time to maintain their industries and establishments. This explains why the more income you earn there, the more rediculous taxes you pays because the system is continously gauging you and the tax system (one of it's tools of control) is strictly and heavily guided, defaulters risks jail term. The system was programmed in a way that you will never get enough in order not for you to start thinking of excaping the slave camp early until you finish your term of slavery.
This is one of reasons why rich and exposed Nigerians don't fancy living abroad. Even most African ex-footballers returns home immediately after the end of their career in Europe. An average Nigerian coming from lack, hunger and extreme poverty and who is daydreaming of Japa won't be able to see this anomaly. Living in Nigeria will provide you the opportunity to excape Matrix.
This can't sell anymore

So after many decades of demonising, ostracising and sometimes disfellowshiping male members who opt to wear or keep their God given natural beards. The leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses sect has approved responsible male brothers to wear and keep beards if they choose in a recent update aired on jw broadcast dated December 15,2023.

On this update nos 8 they've agreed that is non scriptural to instruct Christians on how to look outwardly uniformly. They now accept that spirituality is the basis of Christianity not outward appearances or trying to appear or sound different from other competing religious organisations .

There's high and mixed emotions amongst the members now. Many are disappointed while few who has been scorned by elders and congregation leaders for trying to leave there beards to grow may be the only ones excited.

But personally they( Governing Body) needs to apologise to there members for trying to make them look like a cult. Cus is only a cult that that enforce a dress pattern or grooming for members from varying cultures and backgrounds all around the world

Source :https://www.jw.org/en/news/region/global/2023-Governing-Body-Update-8/
The beard sensitive doctrine isn't restricted to the Jehovah witness alone. Pentecostal and other churches that uphold moral standard also adopt it. Although many do not maintain outright discrimination of beard ,they preach moderation in wearing it and even advise against it completely

The non oil income is more realistic than oil. In this era, when households commodities are produced by local companies like Dangote as well as many other small scale industries and start up, it is easier for non oil sector to yield more. Most Nigerian now resort to cheap and inferior product that are made by small outlets. Commodities such as detergent have seen the market being proliferated. These product are made in satchel ( refill) rather than the conventional tin associated with top brands.
