The Academic Staff Union of Universities has asked for an autopsy to determine the actual cause of the death of its former president, Prof. Festus Iyayi. The varsity teachers' union is said to be suspecting foul play in the death of Iyayi who died after his vehicle was involved in an accident with a vehicle in the convoy of the Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada (retd.), on November 12. ASUU's suspicion that the cause of Iyayi's death could not have been the injuries he sustained in the accident was said to have been fuelled by an object, which reportedly pierced through the late activist's body. The University of Benin chapter of ASUU, in a statement on Monday, said, "Prof. Festus Iyayi did not just die in an accident, but was wilfully murdered by the state and its agents. "At the appropriate time ASUU and Prof. Iyayi's family shall demand concrete answers from the state for his murder." The statement, which was signed by the union's chairman and secretary, Dr. Anthony Monye-Emina and Okeri Henry, respectively, said it was aware that there were deliberate steps by the state and its agents to distort facts of the accident as it happened. It stated, "This started with the reckless and irresponsible press statement that was issued by the Kogi State Government to try to explain away the killing of Prof. Iyayi, and there are further attempts to conceal and distort available evidence. We shall of course meet them with the facts." Warning state officials to stay away from Iyayi's funeral rites, ASUU said, "Iyayi's family are capable of giving the late professor the befitting burial he deserves." It also served notice that "Governor Idris Wada and those ancilliary to the accident will be made to face trial for the murder Prof. Iyayi." Commenting on the development, Iyayi family spokesman, Prof. Robert Ebewele, said that the issue of autopsy was ASUU's affair and that the family would go ahead with the burial already slated for the first week of December. http://m.naij.com/news/52906.html |

Niger Delta activist, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari was arrested on Tuesday. Security officials in Benin Republic have arrested Asari Dokubo, his lawyer, Festus Keyamo, said on Tuesday evening. According to the information provided by Mr. Keyamo in a statement, the Rivers born former armed fighter was on Tuesday "arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, around the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pmby the country's gendarmes (Police Force)." The wealthy former militant reportedly opened a private university in the Benin Republic, the King Amachree African University that is preparing to start degree-awarding programmes in 2014. Keyamo stated, "We want to emphasise that Alhaji Dokubo-Asari carries on legitimate business and has been living partly in Benin Republic for many years now" "In fact, he owns houses, schools and an academy in that country. All these places have been searched as at this evening and nothing incriminating was found." He suggested that Dokubo's arrest and detention may be a ploy by "certain forces in Nigeria in unholy alliance with the Beninoise government" to keep his client away as 2015 approaches. Moreover, the lawyer added, "We call on the Nigerian government to immediately intervene and ensure that no harm befalls Alhaji Dokubo-Asari and to use all diplomatic means to secure his immediate release and safe return to Nigeria," Dokubo has recently vowed that unless Mr. President Jonathan retains the presidency in 2015, Nigeria would break http://m.naij.com/news/52989.html

Primate Babatunde Ayodele, General Overseer of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, bares his mind on the proposed National Conference, Nigeria’s fate in the hands of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2015, the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, airplane crashes and the crisis rocking the polity. Excerpts: Is there any spiritual undertone to airplane crashes in Nigeria? There is. When there is a cleansing for the whole nation, then the aviation sector will be calm. For now, there are still going to be troubles in the sector and some ministers will be removed from the cabinet. I could see some averted plane crashes, but still, I advise that the air force and police watch their aircraft very well. The presidential fleet should also be guarded against technical faults. Nigerians do not respect God, that is why the Dana plane crash occurred the other time despite warnings from God. That also is exactly what is affecting this government. There’s going to be a lot of political turmoil in the polity. Governor Rotimi Amaechi particularly has to be very careful because they want to ground him politically; they want to rubbish him. He also should manage his court cases well. Kwara State’s Bukola too should manage his court cases so they are not used against him. Akpabio and Presidency will face challenges. The seven governors in the New Peoples Democratic Party-nPDP- will come back to PDP; they’re just wasting their time. The All Progressive Congress, APC, will be a strong opposition but it will not be able to overthrow the PDP in 2015. In the end, where are these leading us; will they work in our favour as a nation? Nigeria needs a lot of prayers to avert dangers ahead. I’ve said it several times that Nigeria is going to break. Even this National Conference will take us nowhere! Kidnapping for instance has come to stay! Government will only do its best but it is coming to the South-west as well. Before Nigeria splits however, we need prayers to sustain the country and end disasters. The problem is that we have a president who has turned deaf hears to the word of God. AndCAN is unfortunately nothing to write about. You just said the national confab will lead us nowhere while most people seem optimistic about it… There will be elections in 2015. However, the National Conference is a mere waste of resources and time because nothing will come out of it. Even when decisions are taken at the end of the conference, they will not be executed. When the time comes for a genuine National Conference, you will see the signs and be convinced. But this particular conference has a lot of political undertones which I will not disclose because I am speaking as a prophet, not a political analyst. I therefore want to rename it a ‘corrupt national conference’. But is Jonathan the best candidate for 2015? Jonathan’s second term will cause some problem in this country. I see republics coming out. Mind you, may have more pipeline explosions and bombing is not over. Jonathan is not fighting Boko Haram the way he is supposed to fight it! The truth is, Boko Haram is more spiritual than physical and until the sect is weakened spiritually, it will not go. Are you indirectly advising Jonathan to step down since you’ve said his second term will not be fantastic? If I say he should step down, he will not listen. So, I will let him go and see the consequences. The only way forward is to consult God. By a very slim chance, he will get his second term, but that second term will not be fantastic. Where exactly has CAN gone wrong? They go to Mr.President every now and then, why can they not advise him on what to do and what not to do? Truth is bitter but you have to say it! CAN is political! Ayo Oritsejafor is not operating as CAN but as a Christian politician. CAN is blindfolded and there is no leadership in it. That’s why we’re getting so many things wrong in Christendom. CAN doesn’t know how many churches we have in the country, it has not created any youth empowerment or pastors’ empowerment. CAN should be scrapped. Christianity is not how rich you are but how well you’ve been able to touch the lives of others. CAN should employ not less than 20,000 youths and should do something about women, widows. The truth is: Ayo Oritsejafor is a politician and not a pastor. If any white garment church should invite Ayo, he won’t go! We need somebody who is more vibrant as CAN leader. What if he is turning down their invitations because he doesn’t see them to be genuine? Is he God to say a church is not genuine? Any man who does that is not a pastor! It’s not your right to say you are holy! But the Bible says God has blessed us with the spirit of discernment… Can Ayo see? Is he a prophet? How can he tell me his spirit discerns? White garment churches are among the best worldwide! That’s why you see influential men and women going to them for prayers! Why don’t they remain in their Pentecostal churches? Even pastors from Pentecostal churches go to white garment churches to consult privately and get spiritual powers. I am a godfather to many Pentecostal churches but I have no godfather! God is my only father in the Lord! http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/pentecostal-pastors-go-white-garment-churches-spiritual-powers-primate-ayodele/ |

A 45-year-old trader, Muina Adelami, has asked a Lagos family court in Lagos State to dissolve her eight-year-old marriage to her husband, Shuaib, a clerical officer, on the ground that his sex drive was high. "I have managed to stay this long in the marriage because I thought his libido would go down but that has not been the case. "In the eight years of our marriage, we only have a child, I had two miscarriages as a result of excessive sex.'' She informed the court further that her husband liked sex too much and gave her no breathing space. "We start having sex every night just before midnight and this goes on till the early hours of the next day. Many times, immediately after he comes back from work, he starts demanding for sex. ''He will refuse to stand up even when I am crying and will start beating me whenever I complain. "There were times I did faint, but when I came around, he would start again. "The way he's going, he will kill me. I now look older than my age mates due to too much sex," she said. In his defence, Shuaib admitted to having a high sex drive, but added that it was his right to have sex with his wife. "I was advised to marry a younger wife but I cannot afford that, that is why I take care of her and give her everything she wants. "I have been trying to change her mind on the issue of divorce, but she is adamant. I love her and would not want to divorce her. I also know that sex can't kill her," he said. The case was adjourned till December 4. |

This is a clear danger signal to all those big men who are good in sleeping with their bank account officers, in the name of “thank you for banking with us”. While I was in Abuja, inside source showed OluFamous few ladies in top banks who had come to “service” some Senators in a big hotel in the city. I was shocked! The source said that was how they “service” Governors and even big men in the Presidency. It is indeed a very big mess we have in Nigeria and now it has sent a House of Reps member to his early grave. Hon. Raphael Oloye Nomiye, who’s representing Ondo State in the House of Reps, was said to be having his turn of “service” with his female Account Officer in his bedroom when something happened… Top security sources said he was having a sexual affair with a female banker in his private residence located at Gwarinpa Estate in Abuja when the unfortunate incident happened. When Daily Trust visited the deceased’s residence at Second Avenue in Gwarinpa Estate, neighbours said the banker, who managed his accounts, rushed down from the one-storey building to inform the policemen on guard at the house that “oga just fell down and is vomiting blood.” They said when the policemen entered into his room upstairs, they found him laying on the floor with a towel tied round his waist, while he bled from the mouth. He was then quickly taken to a private clinic on 3rd Avenue within the estate in his official Toyota Camry 2012 car. It was further learnt that doctors at clinic declined to attend to him, saying it was a “serious” matter, he was then rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja, where the doctors on duty later pronounced him dead. Police sources disclosed that the female banker who was “servicing” him, is now in police custody at Gwarinpa Police Station, Abuja. She had denied having sexual affair with the lawmaker before his death. But she has now changed her story after doctors at the National Hospital conducted an examination on the corpse, which confirmed that the late federal lawmaker, Hon Nomiye, had slept with a woman shortly before his demise. After the test result came out, the banker (name withheld) admitted to Police interrogators that she had actually slept with him and had helped him to clean up, following which he went into the bathroom, where he suddenly fell and began to vomit blood. Police investigators who inspected the lawmaker’s house had succeeded in recovering some items, including a bottle of water, which the deceased lawmaker had drank from, some tissue papers and the clothes the man had worn earlier in the day. When Daily Trust visited the banker’s private residence located at Kado Estate in Abuja, two of her friends, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said she and Hon Nomiye were friends. Investigation revealed that although late Nomiye was married, his wife and kids do not live with him in Abuja. http://www.naijaurban.com/exposed-reps-member-dies-during-sex-with-female-banker-abuja/ |

In Christianity, we the Pentecostals call it Service while our fellow brothers in Catholics call it Mass. Although they have the same objective, I would have prefer it to be called Sunday Service, because we all go to church to hear the word and get our soul renewed which is also known as Service. Can those in Catholics explain better why is called Sunday Mass? Brethren what's your stand? |
