Peter Okoye of P’Square and Lola Omotayo’s love story is compelling and amazing. The couple have been in a relationship for over eight years before they finally tied the knot on Sunday, November 17, 2013.



There has been a lot of talk and whispers about their marriage, the family issues and the fact that Lola is by far older than Peter Okoye has been trending. But why did she decide to marry someone who’s her junior?

Below is Lola Omotayo’s stand on their age difference…
Lola, who was a Business Development Director at FKG2m a marketing agency in Lagos, had told the story of how she and Peter met and how the relationship started:

     “My agency handles some of British American Tobacco brands and P’Square was doing a show for us at one of our events in Enugu. Though I had met Peter a couple of times before then, at the show there was some chemistry.

He asked for my number and I refused giving it to him. I told him ‘if you really want to know me, you have to find my number’. So he took it as a task and found my number and the rest is history.”

Lola, said to be in her 30s then and Peter in his 20s, was not disturbed by the age difference. Her reason:

     “Like I said, Peter is an old soul and he always tells me that I’m like a 23-year-old. Age is just a number. Right now, you can see it around the world. Demi Moore, Usher and some known people. Even in Nigeria here, they are dating people far older than their age. So, we shouldn’t base it on the age factor. He doesn’t make me feel like he’s younger than me.”

Hmmmn, is age really just a number in marriage, especially in Nigeria?

A Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday sentenced Talal Ahmad Roda, one of the three Lebanese men arrested in May 2013 in connection with illegal possessions of weapon, to life imprisonment. Mr Roda was arrested after a large cache of arms was found in a bunker during a raid on his residence. He was found guilty of all 5 counts of illegal possession of weapons and conspiracy.

MADRID (AFP) – Spanish police said Thursday they have arrested three Nigerians who forced African women into prostitution in Europe, including by holding two women’s children captive for at least four months.
Five women in different Spanish cities were freed from the clutches of the gang after a long operation that began at the beginning of the year, on the basis of information from a young African prostitute, a police statement said.
In August, police rescued two little children, one of them aged three, from an address in Valmojado, some 50 kilometres (30 miles) from Madrid. They were found in poor health and malnourished.
“They were kept locked in separate rooms… at times gagged and tied to the bed” by captors who fed them tranquilisers to keep them docile, the statement said.
“The children were to guarantee that the women paid off their ‘debts’ by going into prostitution and to stop them running away.”
The mothers were eventually found in France, where they were forced to work as prostitutes.
The criminal gang holding them used that and other strategies to bring Nigerian women to Spain and force them to work as prostitutes, the police said.
The women were “enticed with fraudulent promises, with false job offers or by abusing their precarious situation”. They were smuggled to Spain by boat from Morocco.
Once in Spain, they were sold to pimps in EU countries, the statement said.

u guys ve done ur best 4 me. D job is wit a communication company in nija. To start as a contract staff pending on when there wil be openings for a full staff.

To me, i ve collected d 3M, its in my HIDA acct now. I wil think well b4 investing it. .im placed in d interest of 3%. UBA agreed to pay 6.5% per mnth if i fixed it with them. I think i wil go for that.

I am graduate wit 2.2. I can stil use my cert anytime. Dis is the only chance 4 me to get dis cash although it is a close relative dat offered me dis opportunity now.
