Why not construct all the internal roads in the estate, get the place electrified, get water to the place and give all the landlord's 6moths to one year to complete their building or have it taken over by estate management company who will build the house and manage it for a period of time before handling over to the owner or pay off the owner, depending on the stage it was before the estate management company takeover

How can you write the bold and still fail to note that that is the very first thing the officers ought to have stated?
Rather they were saying - "there is a petition against you" and "you are a criminal". . . . . what nonsense is that?
When a petition is written against you and submitted to the police, you have the duty to answer some questions at the police station where the details will be read to you and you explain your own part, the detail is not always read to you at the point of invitation or arrest, you heard the police man saying you think you can continue to hide or so. To educate you more, not all criminals have their charges read to their hearing before they are taking away, even in the USA, UK etc

If you listen, the policeman simply kept saying someone had written a petition against him. Is that sufficient for this unnecessary drama?

Please note something: THE FIRST THING in arresting ANYONE ANYWHERE is to INFORM him of the REASON for his arrest - e.g: "You are hereby under arrest for the offense of murder of Mr. X."

Rather what did you see here - "You are a criminal." What is that?

The next thing is to read him his rights.

Besides there is a general place for civility and ethics in executing such things. I doubt that man was about to announce a coup on air please.
So they should have come with the petition and read it for him. Disclosing to him that a petition has been written against him is enough disclosure already.

Finish wetin? Security agencies don't act like that ooo. Are you playing? So they should be waiting for a criminal to finish his thing because of what. Don't worry, when armed robber kills one of your loved one, on the day of his arrest, police will wait for him to finish whatever he is doing until he finds an escape route or disguises. Rubbish
I wonder what is going on in the Nigerian youths head o, imagine them expecting the policemen to be waiting for the guy to finished presenting before arrest, even when they can hear the police man saying you think you can keep hiding or so, an evidence that they may have been looking for him for sometime.

The illiterate here is you. Have you asked to know his offense, is it illegal to arrest someone at a radio station. This is why many of you keep getting killed in foreign land when you carry your madness there.
A team of law enforcement agency came to arrest him, he asked for the ID card which was shown to him yet he had the gots to say on live show that he was not going anywhere and you guys are clapping for him. Is this how the country will get better?

Oga go and answer your call, in addition to whatever your offense was before, you can be charged for resisting arrest as evidence in your own video.

What's this? angry

The moment your partner can raise his/her hand to hit you in public, give them space; you both are done… unless there is something this guy ain't telling.
And you think that is worse than a partner who doesn't understand that when one is angry and demand for a space, it should be given, you think it is worse than a partner who deliberately engaged in emotional blackmail?
The guy is at fault here, he probably did something wrong and when he noticed the girl was not accepting his sorry, he should have let her be, then give it a try again later. Blocking her way is the same as a woman who stopped her husband from going out in the morning because they have misunderstanding.

ThierryJay:

This your analysis no too clear. Let's keep it simple. Both our minimum wage and air fares are in Naira.

In 1985 when minimum wage was 125 Naira, you needed to earn it 139 times to afford the Lagos to New York ticket then.

Now with min wage of 30k and average lag to NY ticket of 2 to 2.5 million Naira, you will need to earn 66 to 81 times the current min wage to afford the ticket.

Seems like it was way more expensive back then.

Don't mind them, the quest to paint the country bad has blindfolded some people, sometimes the don't know when they walk naked into a market because they are so carried away by there hatred for the country such that they can't do simple calculations before posting in social media

With 80m, if you have something upstairs with which you can survive elsewhere, you will survive in naija, it is not that bad yet. Just give some people 10m in naija and see what they turn it into in few years

Did you read the part that says the building is designed to carry 3,000 staff but the staffs are already 4k and above, did you read the part that says the facility (building) managers have already warn them of the implications of over stretching the capacity of the building, did you read the part that says most búanks headquarters are in Lagos and the CBN usually sends it's staffs to carry out some work in Lagos for like a month or two? Within this period of a month or two, these guy are usually paid hotel accomodations in 5 star hotels at the expense of the poor masses, imagine having 200 to 500 staffs on average every month, in different 5 star hotels in lekki, will you maintain your stand if you see the daily average cost on paper? Career / Re: This Happened In My New Work Place. Please advice by alizma: 1:07pm On Jan 13
Jackanda1:
I recently applied to work in an organisation.

After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.

When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question;
HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?

I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.

I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.

Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.

Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.

I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.

Anyone with this experience? Please console me.

Work for 6month and show your potential within that period, have good relationship with the management team and your colleagues within this period, thereafter, request for, between 50 to 100% increase in your salary and if they turn it down, step out and get another even with the same pay. If they approve it, work for another 6 to 8months and request for another review of your salary, continue that way till you catch up with or exceed your colleagues. But all through this period, do not show any sign of discouragement, smile more than those earning than you. All thinking about your own caused short change in salary must end at home. Never take it to work and I believe you will get justice

Mumuni, you are holding $15k cash in this 21st century and you think that's not enough to start suspecting you, are you the only Nigerian or the first to apply for Chinese visa with Nigerian passport?
When you told them you had cash, they were like this guy can't be telling the truth but to clear their doubt, they said show us, and the Mumuni in you jumped out and displayed the cash and boom, you got the visa in a reversed order.
Next time use your brain, they ask for statement of account, give them statement of account not not cash. You don't change the policy and expect them not to change the game.

Firstly, reduce how you talk, people who talk too much lie a lot so listen more and talk less
In addition to this, see it as a negative impact on your person to lie and place more value on yourself than the urge to lie, telling truth gives you confidence and peace of mind.
