PoliticsRe: Lagosians Were Once Moved (deported) From Akwa Ibom - PM News by aljharem(m): 10:43pm On Jul 31, 2013
PointB: Lagos should try secession if they are tired of being in Nigeria. Even that will not guarantee an Igbo free country for them. Basically anyone who is tired of seeing Igbos in Lagos State, including you, should take rat poison or jump in front of the Lagos-Kano train! Like we care! cheesy cheesy cheesy
Lagos is NEVER seceding without other yoruba states including Itsekiris get that. Whether we are tired or not is not the issue, the issue is how far can you push their tolerance ? Who really cares about the little baby rat ? but the issue starts when the rat is fully grown and it's appetite grows and start proving he is more worthy than the owner of the house. What does the owner do ? Try and eliminate it anyway possible either by using what the rat loves the most (food) to set a trap or simply crush it (anger the people). The choice is yours

If you ask me, the best choice would be to try and avoid the owner of the house feel your presence in his house.

kettykin: Why are they beginning to panic now that the clouds are beginning to gather
grin grin grin grin

My friend, let me be honest with you and this IS THE REAL TRUTH.

Lagosians are not panicking.

Lagosians are tired of igbos constituting as nuisance in our state

Lagosians are at their happiest during Christmas and new year when you all go to your villages

Lagosians have no problem with others especially Calabar people but have a lot with Igbos.

That is the truth from an indigene of Lagos. If you think I am lying push this Ladipo issue further and watch what will happen. lipsrsealed

The igbos as far as Lagos is concerned I am a Lagosian and can see this. Visit Ladipo before you talk.

[quote author=Dudu_Negro]Did you say 18th century? shyytt! Its on record that the Igbos had been living in Lagos since the 13th century. Katsumoto: You said it is not possible for the Aworis to drive out other Yorubas from Lagos because the governor and Oba are Awori thereby implicitly accepting the ridiculous notion that Aworis are not Yoruba. All you had to state was that Aworis are Yoruba like other Yoruba sub-groups.
Oh I see and correction accepted. Thanks

Yes we are yorubas

Katsumoto: You really do give yourself away sometimes. Are the Awori not Yoruba? Did they not migrate from Ife like other Yoruba groups? As the Awori settled on the Island, so did the Ekiti who settled at Ojora, Iddo, Ebute Metta and Ijebu who settled at Ikorodu.
How ? My post did not suggest otherwise. I am one myself so how have I given myself away ? I have never said otherwise and I am yet to meet any aworiman that has said otherwise. We are yorubas born and bred and cannot claim anyother. cool

change ? Afam no be mod again, make him check now. As for the topic, Babaloja is a traditional title meant for Indegenes of the state. We respect our tradition and no emeka or uche can be call Babaloja so long as tradition still stands. I cannot be call Igwe is Onitsha or can I ?

Moreover, the more you people drag this ladipo issue, the more you shot yourselves on the foot. If the place is no longer conducive for trading then go back to the east. Alj Oki is a Lagosian and Mushin born so no igbo have any right to tell him what he should do or not
PoliticsRe: Ladipo Traders On Rampage by aljharem(m): 7:17pm On Jul 27, 2013
Also at the protest was the royal father of the market, Chief Michael Nwosu who also said: “ 99 percent of marketers in Ladipo are Igbo. To be fair to all, he should come and contest if elected he will be accepted.

“We appeal to the South East governors, Igbo leaders across the globe to come to our aid. They asked us to go back to our villages, if we are not ready to accept the leadership of Alhaji Oki. We pay our taxes in Lagos and have every right as Nigerians to buy and sell anywhere in the state.”

When Saturday Sun visited Alhaji Oki’s section of the market, it was littered with broken bottles and the two cars allegedly destroyed during the fracas. He said that he was ready to dialogue with aggrieved members of LACEC to find a way forward. “I was nominated two years ago to be installed the Babaloja of the market. LACEC through several petitions frustrated that move and the process was delayed. However two months ago, the late Abibat Mogaji finally installed me. To pass their message across they did not attend my installation, which was held in June 27, 2013.

Yes Lagos is aka Eko is a yoruba word, Lekki, Oshodi etc are all yoruba words. Just so we clarify.

kettykin: I repeat if Igbos are pushed out of Lagos , Niger Delta will be too hot for yorubas, Igbos will use their numerical strength everywhere they are to make life miserable for yorubas where ever they may be found on earth, be it in River State or Asaba, Eket, the Xenophobic war would be fought to a logical conclusion while other parts of the country will remain neutral and watch from the side lines.

sincerenigerian: I wouldn't blame the guy for refusing to the amputation. I was exactly like that when the doctors made the decision to amputate my wife's leg on Chrismas day of 2010. I refused to accept it because I could not imagine something of that magnitude happening to my wife, but as I was crying and wailing, my wife said they should go ahead and amputate the leg. Our kids were 2 and 3 years old then and we just started to enjoy our lives. But doctors said she was likely to die within days because blood was not flowing through the veins in the leg. Her blood began to cloth in various parts of the body. She was put on blood thinner for some time and up till this day she is still on high dose of blood thinner.

We are still not out of the wood yet. The sickness almost claimed the second leg recently but God saved the second leg. The sickness (systemic lupus) is deadly. It has recently affected the kidney and we are just hoping for the best.

This thing is financially and emotionally draining. God is our strength.
this is just a phase my brother all is well. God is in control, please pray and fast. I really do admire your strength
PoliticsRe: Lagos Dumps Beggars, Homeless In Onitsha by aljharem(m): 10:58pm On Jul 26, 2013
Eko ile or iragbeji ile does not and will never speak for lagosians. Even his boss Tinubu is not a Lagosian

Lagosians and yorubas in general are not tribalistic. We lagosians love Igbos and other Nigerians without being bias.

Now let me some statements here

1. There are true indigenes of Lagos state and we are still Alive in number. In fact 50-60% of yorubas you see in Lagos are true Lagosians (undiluted blood) and I am one of them and we have them here on Nairaland as well.

2. Lagos is a yoruba state which is under Nigeria thus the culture and setting of the state is yoruba. Egun, Awori, Ijebu and Egbas are yorubas. I am half Awori and Egun myself and my name is yoruba, I speak yoruba, I dress Yoruba and I would always be associated with yoruba. Not only myself but the whole state.

3. This does not mean there is any discrimination against non-indigenes such as the Igbos. It is wrong and that is not what Fashola is trying to do. Fashola has nothing against Igbos

4. Lagos is not operating as a different country so there is no citizenship so to put it. Everyone can trace their root back to their village. What I mean is that even if you are the third generation lagosian, it does not make you an indigene. You can and will be sent packing once this country split unless the traditional laws are changed.

With all that said, we are all brothers so lets enjoy this country while it last. grin grin grin grin

ACM10: Get well soon Dr Eziachi. I thank God that you took the right decision to amputate the dead limb. Our family friend had a road traffic accident 4 days ago and sustained a deep laceration at the groin to the extent that it affected the major blood vessel to the leg. Delays made it impossible for vascular surgeon to intervene at appropriate time. The limb was gone after twelve hours. He refused the medical advice of the orthopaedic surgeon to amputate the limb. Requested for discharge against medical advice. Ordered for the tourniquet at the groin to be removed.

What happened next was shocking. I witnessed the phenomenon called "reperfusion injury" for the first time. He was in crisis. The kidney shut down within hours. In his crisis state, he consented for the leg to be amputated. But it was too late. He had his last breath before the surgeon and the physician could intervene.

He was only 36yrs with 4 kids. The youngest is 3 weeks old. He refused to heed my advice that half-life is better than half-death. So, I congratulate you for taking the wise decision. It is well with you.
This is serious but I don't blame the man. Trust me if you were in his shoes, you might have done the same
