@ abouzaid bia ebe a

You are playing dumb here. Igala and Idoma are independent ethnic groups and never ever have I claim them to be yoruba neither have I claimed Edo to be yoruba.

Yes Igalas and Idomas are Igbos, I could care less. I don't hate Igbos so stop this rubbish you are attributing to me. If Igala is apart of Biafra good !!!

I am angry because of this silly topics suggesting that Yorubas are claiming. The Op is an Igala man, so gini ka i na'ekwu maka ya. angry

Logic Mind: And what is this true colour of ours?
well I discovered judging by Nairaland.

While Yorubas see Igbos as equals, you don't see us the same. Always trying to balkanize us. Thinking of our downfall is a common occurrence here. Also discovered that you blame yorubas for the civil war forgetting that yoruba suffered a great deal to warn the Igbos about Nigeria but of course you betrayed the yorubas and shared power with the north. Things went sour then you blame yorubas again.

You is crazy, but many yorubas are discovering that. While we sympathise with Igbos on the civil war and we were the first group of people to welcome them back, they still have a distain for yorubas forgetting that even port harcourt your so call Ochi agha, Igbos are been discriminated against.

The second largest ethnic group in the Western Nigeria according to Baifra radio are the Igbos, why is that ? Igbos are not even second largest in the South-South so why the SW ? Is it because you perceive us as cowards or because Yorubas see a larger picture by see everyone as brothers.

Some of you run around writing articles and blogs of how cowardly and bad the yorubas are, Have you checked yourselves first ?

That is all for now, I chose to ignore Beaf utterance because he is your son as some of you would put it. He wishes to join Baifra, I for one don't want Lagos and indeed the SW region kwara, kogi (whole of kogi for that matter) to join any Biafra because Tribalisim would kill that country as well just as Nigeria.

We better sit down on a round table to see how this Nigeria would work since that was what Nnamdi and co wanted.

Your people I had always respected until I hit Nairaland then I discovered your true colour.

Dede1: Ojukwu headed towrad Lagos because of the actions of your jittery knee grandfather, father, uncle and brother who could not muster intestinal fortitude to tell Gowon and soldiers from northern region to vacate western region and relocate to Kaduna or Kano or Jos while conducting military attacks on eastern region.
And so he headed towards Lagos ?

One question, I though Ojukwu was ready to make Yorubas partners and NOT slaves. If so, why not wait for Awolowo to tell him when he should invade or not.

Again if Ojukwu wanted to liberate the west. Then He should not have fought a war at Ore, simple negotiation would have made his intention clear.

Knowing full well how cowardly and weak the west are, I think it is clear that we would have called for help rather than fight back isn't it.

Next time (if at all), we would treat each other as equals and not try to dominate the other.

Moreover, in terms of war (longest war in west african history), marginalisation, divide and rule, balkanization and suffering Yorubas have had there own fair share thanks to Nnamdi and other Igbos politicians back in those days.

Now that God has used Awolowo to free us from the quagmire, you people are angry ? You call him all sort of names

Dede1, I truly wish you can put yourself in other's shoes and know what they feel rather than look from your selfish angle.

BTW, Beaf is an Igboman like you I suggest you listen to him
PoliticsRe: Will Nigeria Break Up By 2015? by aljharem(m): 1:21pm On May 28, 2012
PhysicsQED: Beaf, some of those things in your list above cannot be accurate and I think you know this. There's no need to make things overly complex because things really aren't.

In the simplest terms, the non-Igbo Midwesterners did not want war with anybody but were not in a position where they could fully and totally actualize their desire to remain out of the conflict. All of this other crap is just a disgusting attempt to look for scapegoats. Someone else who posted earlier who must be senile or just plain dumb even tried to insinuate that the pre-invasion Midwest - a militarily insignificant region at the time - if they felt cheated by the Aburi accord not being implemented precisely as the East wanted, could have somehow leapt into the conflict fighting against Gowon without any prior support or planning. Nairaland must be eating away at what's left of some people's brains.

Ignorance is indeed the downfall of a man.

Why was Ojukwu heading towards lagos, So because it was the capital, you want to range war on the people of Lagos ?

If Banjo who followed Ojukwu's instruction to the later could later turn back and be shot by Ojukwu without listening to reasoning, I wonder what the fate of other Lagosians would have been

Truly ignorance is indeed bliss.

BTW all this back and forth argument would not change anything, BEAF is Igbo like you all, thus I suggest you listen to him here.

I wonder why people say Jason and Alj harem are the same. Truly common sense is not common.

Well again I am not Jason, I am not Okija juju, I am not syxmess, I am not these people.

Lastly @ Edo people on this thread.

I would assume most of you are Igbos thus dismissing most of your comments. Even worse is someone saying yorubas are betrayers. If it about the civil war then I truly thank God for not joining the Igbos. I for one would never ever want to lose my heritage to baifra.

Biafra was a selfish plot by Ojukwu and his fellow Igbos to dominate yorubaland. If Edo and even by extention delta (sorry jasaon) want to join Biafra. Please please by all means do !!!

Una hear me ko !

The thread opener just like many Igbos here have different IDs to discredit yorubas. Heck we could careless, in fact we laugh but want we find disgusting is changing history

Republic of benin got nothing to do with Edo people. I don't know where those lies are coming from. You all claim Oba is a bini word and not yoruba, then why are the leaders of benin using Ooni ? why not Oba

Why are Kwara and Kogi people using Oba ? Why are itsekiri using Olu (lord) why not Oba

My people it is delusion. Also no one conquered Ijebus and Egbas apart from the British. I am an Awori-Egun Prince from Lagos both from Isale Eko and Badagry and in Awori we have binis in it. Please don't distort history.

When Bini invaded (where considered yoruba) Olofin DID NOT ATTACK BACK because Binis were considered one of us back in those days as far as we were considered. Coming here and mouthing off that you conquered us and we are cowards would only come from the mouth of ingrates.

If turly you conquered even to benin republic why have egun people never meet the binis before ? Also I can recall an part in history that Aworis even meet Ijebus not to talk of binis.

Again I would assume these are all Igbo people using different IDs to cause discord. Imagine Okoro man speaking and distorting Yoruba history. SMH

There are only few edos I saw here and those were the people that could speak bini not some Okoro man.

Our forefathers worked hard to unite us.

People are interested in us and reckon with us not because of oil but because of the potentials, population, resources and size.

But a former Primate of the Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion), Most Revd. Peter Akinola, said the Boko Haram insurgency would not end soon.
Apparently, Mr President knows this, (God bless him)

But Beaf and other bigoted ideeiots don't know the same. LOL

Same thing I have been preaching all year round for 2 years is what GEJ is saying now.

I sincerely hope some of these bigots change there ways fast !
PoliticsFG Provides N12.4b For Laboratories In 51 Polytechnics by aljharem(op): 10:01pm On May 27, 2012
THE Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqqayatu Ahmed Rufa’I, has said the Federal Government has provided N12.4 Billion for equipping laboratories in all the 51 Federal and State Polytechnics with a view to enhancing the skills of youths and adults, as well as achieving the goals of a four-year strategic plan mapped out by the ministry.
The minister, who stated this during the public presentation of the 4-year Strategic Plan for the Development of Education Sector and the inauguration of the Committees for the Development of National Systems Education said Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) is a key area the ministry is targeting towards enhancing skills of both youths and adults.
She said a total of N2.6 billion has also been provided for the rehabilitation of laboratories in the same institutions while Federal Unity Colleges now receive the equivalence of 250.000 dollars for the same purpose.

PoliticsNigeria Must Stop Importing Wheat, Says Minister by aljharem(op): 9:45pm On May 27, 2012
Nigeria loses N635 billion every year on importation of wheat for bread-making, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, has disclosed.
He said the importation is at the expense of local farmers and the nation’s economic growth.
The minister spoke at the weekend during a briefing on the implementation of high quality cassava bread derivatives in Abuja.
He also debunked the insinuation that the Executive initiated a bill seeking for 40 percent cassava inclusion in bread-making, which was rejected by the National Assembly last Thursday.
Adesina accused flour mill firms of misinforming Nigerians on the policy to ‘’protect their super normal profits they siphon out of Nigeria.”
The Minister said: “The issue of use of cassava bread is also an economic decision. Nigeria spends N635 billion importing wheat and keeping farmers of wheat exporting countries employed, exporting jobs, while displacing jobs at home.
“Cassava, for which Nigeria is the largest producer in the world, is being used to produce high quality cassava flour to replace some of the wheat.’’
He added: ‘’The flour mills and their surrogates are doing all they can to produce misinformed Nigerians and protect their super normal profits they siphon out of Nigeria’’.
He noted that the private sector has expressed readiness to substitute cassava flour for wheat flour, citing UTC Plc and Food Concepts as few of the bread and confectionaries companies.
On the rejection of the bill last week, Adesina said the NASS could not have rejected a bill that did not exist.
Adesina said : “Firstly, let me state that there was no such bill from the Executive and therefore no decision can be taken by the NASS on an executive bill that does not exist. This was a figment of imagination.”
He dismissed the notion that cassava consumption is bad for diabetic patients, saying it is scientifically baseless.
In his words: ‘’The statement credited to some that cassava consumption is not good for those with diabetes is wholesomely untrue. Scientifically baseless and it is a deliberate attempt to misinform Nigerians.’’

While noting that UTC has volunteered to train more bakers on the new trend, Adesina maintained that cassava flour has low glycemic indices of 59.34 percent compared to wheat flour having 70.10 percent.
He restated that local foods are much healthier than imported over- processed foods “that cause cancer and aggravate diabetes, such as white wheat flour.”

Paul John: If there is no oil in Nigeria

-S/South would have been MEND free
They would have been living in happiness without much pressure from FG.

-S/West wouldn't have been so lazy to forget about their Cocoa farming.

-S/East wouldn't have too lousy to forget about their palm oil.

-North would have been free from Boko Haram
They might have been more civilized than they presently are.

Finally, Corruption would have been in it's minimum level and no region would have been too dependent on S/South for Oil money.

NB: Oil is a blessing to us and not course, but we're been led by the wrong leaders and blindfolded by tribalism.

Now lets ask what the yorubas and igbos have contributed as well ?

Assuming we believe the lies here (NL) then I guess it is safe to assume that yorubas and Igbos are not different from hausas and fulanis ? You can correct me if I am wrong.

All the investors and lagos state have to do is buy the rail cars, construct a thrid rail and the train stations and install rail signals. I dont believe they will be building any new rails since NRC and the FG rehabilitated that rail line not to long ago. but i may be wrong
Are you suggesting SG would use the FG rail lines ?
