Beaf: I don't discuss with fools. Thank you.
Bros you are the one making a fool off yourself here.

You still have not told us how Tinubu can control a president ? All you are doing is going in circles on how bad Fashola is ad how amazing PDP is
PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: Count Me Out —fashola by aljharem(m): 11:41pm On May 30, 2012
If OBJ according to Beaf theory of matter and space politics, cannot control GEJ what makes you think Tinubu can control Fashola ?

PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: Count Me Out —fashola by aljharem(m): 11:38pm On May 30, 2012
Beaf: Are you serious or just mocking about? Lol!
Everybody knows Fashola is a great administrator, but everybody also knows he under Tinubu's lock and key; because of the Tinubu factor, everybody knows he is a weakling.

Nobody wants the frog-like Tinubu weilding any sort of power over Nigeria, we don't want a president with a permanent owner; that ends any promise from Fashola. Dead, done, finished.

Insulting GEJ is childish, afterall he is his own man.
LOL coming from Beaf

So you actually think that Tinubu would control Fashola as the president of Nigeria ?

ifihearam: So becos Fashola is working in Lagos automatically qualifies him to run for presidency?
On the platform of CAN!!!
So where would he get the votes from the PDP ruling states in the North
And you think the Northerners will allow Yoruba be president when they have been clamouring
Apart from the 5 states being controlled by CAN,which other state can they win??

He knows its a fools paradise and he won't dare
[size=14pt]Yoruba this North that Igbo this

PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: Count Me Out —fashola by aljharem(m): 11:03pm On May 30, 2012
Beaf: I've never seen such a dimwitted post. Have you gone to the border of Akwa Ibom to count emigres?
Your arguments about Lagos being rich are incredibly id!otic, how does that count in a Presidential race?
By the way, if oil dries up, Lagos will be as phucked as the rest of the country and all investors will flock out, cos its all driven by oil. Fool.
Mumu brother, so if oil dried up, what have you told your oga to prevent it ?

How have we diversified our economy ?

Highest non-oil revenue is from Lagos thus you have no say

second highest non-oil revenue is from cocoa plantation in Ogun

third highest non-oil revenue is from Palm oil plantation in Osun and cross river (I think Imo is there as well)

All these sectors have not been exploited enough so what have you told your oga about it ?

jason123: Again, what makes you think Tinubu will not "exit"? Did OBJ "exit" before or after GEJ's presidency, yet we still voted for the GEJ. So mister, what makes you think the same can't happen to Fashola?
Oya make we hear answer from bigots (tribalsit) and PDP goons

jason123: You better keep quiet, you enemy of progress. Its like you hate Nigeria. People are talking about development and commissioning not "planning".

Nigerians, this is the sort of person that drag you back for another 10 years!
Gbammmmm very well said
PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: Count Me Out —fashola by aljharem(m): 10:54pm On May 30, 2012
PeterKbaba: If that is the case, why are people not flocking to Akwa Ibom, rather everyone want to be in lagos... you want to compare Akwa ibom of 3.5 million population with a population of 18 million in lagos. Government gives Akwa ibon 2 times the money given to lagos. Even with that, lagos remains the richest state interms on internal generated revenue.. which means if crude oil finishes, all nigerian states will torn to somalia, apart from Lagos State.

So are you daft or your just been sentimental here..
Gbbammmmm

LOL let me guess their answer

Lagos was the capital 20 year ago grin grin grin grin grin grin

phantom: 2-3years ago,i would have said YES to fashola for the presidency......but nigeria needs a strong leader, with balls of steel.A decisive(not out of emotions),logical and WISE man. Sadly my man fash doesnt fit the bill at all.My idea of a leader is not one who builds skyscrapers and bridges.leadership goes way deeper.dude does not have the depth.

CultureRe: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by aljharem(m): 10:44pm On May 30, 2012
The story is quite strange. Where I am from we marry regardless of ethnicity or race. There might be some yoruba and even igbo families holding on to this believes that if there son does not marry from their ethnic group, it would not work out.

Answer to your question, Anonymous has given you an accurate answer smiley

Yoruba women and Igbo men don't click that much although once they click it is indeed a love story grin grin grin

The reason is still unknown at least by majority of us but Yoruba men and Igbo Women are like bread and butter, they compliment each other. Although I must say Yoruba men tend to marry anyone so long as it is a woman.

I am sorry about your boyfriend, he is probably one of those living in the dark ages.

rman: A particular man named Goodluck Jonathan came into power and he has successfuly divided Nigeria along ethnic line more than any other president in Nigeria's history.
As terrible as the military rulers, OBJ and Yaradua was, they still managed to carry all regions/ethnics along.
Those supporting GEJ blindly because he is from their tribe/region and feels to hell with whatever others feel or think,
Will soon get all they asked for.

IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.

lastpage: All said and done, any intelligent person can see, the "strata" of people posting here ...
I have decided to "categorize" all the posts and everyone will surely "locate themselves" somewhere in-between, if they are honest to themselves!

1.) Those who hate Abiola as a person: These are people like Kobojunkie, who have a grouse against Abiola and see this as an opportunity to rubbish his legacy. They 'openly' advocate for the name change but indirectly in their hearts, they are trying to point out that "Abiola does not deserve it", using reverse thinking! They prod others to say what they themselves have in their heart! wink. These sort of people are actually very dangerous as you can never know what evil they will support next!

2.) Those who hate the Yorubas: This group of people know in their heart that the "re-branding" is totally stewpid but they would not say so. Instead, they are prodding "Yorubas" to say so or say something in the line of "Abiola's name is not fit and proper". Meanwhile, they "TWIST the argument" against the name change, to imply that Yorubas have no respect for Abiola's legacy ...and thus are "bad people"!
They are mostly Igbos (not all Igbos, mind you) that are still consumed by their hatred for Yorubas (for whatever reason) and you can see it from their post! There is nothing you can do about them....a lost cause!

3.)Those who wished but are never good enough to be called "Akokites": These group of people "secretly" see the "re-branding" of UNILAG as a way of "diminishing the legacy and Legend of the University". To them, it is "God don catch them"!. Its basically supporting wrong, out of jealousy. These group of people are the ones using the UNN or other "re-branded" university in their arguments. They just want to see the "swagger' of "an Akokite" removed! grin ....and what a better way than to rename the University? Not that they care a hoot about Abiola.

4.)Those who are products of the University: These sort of people are vehemently against the name change, not because they do not love or appreciate Abiola but because they feel that "only Academic Icons" should be named after academic institutions.
Moreso, these set of people also believe that the "Brand Unilag" has gone universal in terms of academic institutions and since it took about 50yrs to reach that enviable height, it should be left like that.
They also think that Abiola, being a "Political icon", should be named after "Political Edifices" like Aso Rock, Eagle Square, National Assembly at Abuja. Though we cannot fail to decipher the underlying fear of "diminished legacy/brand" that these group fears about their institution, should the name change persist. Current, rioting Unilag students also fall into this category. They love Abiola's legacy but would prefer that the legacy of Unilag be kept intact and separate.

5.)Poli-trick-cians looking for a Kill: These group of people fall into PDP (for) and other oppositions groups like ACN, CCNP, e.t.c. Jonathan as the arrow-head of PDP, thinks he can court the support of South Westerners with these move. He thinks doing what is in the interest of the "Abiola family" (Dont know how many of his children graduated,if any, from Unilag!), he can carry the Yoruba votes, when the time comes. How wrong can he be! cry The "opposition" on the other hand, are against it, mostly because they feel GEJ is threading on their "area of influence" and using it for political frog-jumping! To this group, its all Politics and they dont bait an eyelid for Abiola or the University's name

6.) Finally, the Abiola's family: These group are in support for selfish reasons. Who does not want to be associated with a good and established 'brand name"?...not to mention UNILAG! They dont care what it does to the school or the products/students of the University, they are only concerned about their own family name.
But instead of coming out openly about their own "self interest", when they saw the opposition to the name change, they went into "self-pity mode" and tried to "play the victim" by implying that the rejection was an indication that the "interest groups" (everyone against the name change) especially the South Westerners, do not love Abiola or do not appreciate his death! Thus we are not surprised that Kola Abiola said "Abiola died for nothing", when he saw the vehement opposition to the name change! Maybe he can tell us why he thinks changing the name of Unilag to Abiola University or University of Abiola grin is the best option to show gratitude to Abiola.
I guess he was holed up somewhere in Europe/West when "guys were facing IBB's bullets" in the streets of Lagos and elsewhere, just to ensure that Abiola's mandate was re-instated! The same people he is now insulting, paid the "ultimate price" for his father election victory, ..Kudirat also did same but not even he himself did that, rather he's always collected "oil contracts" from the military to assuage his loss!

All the arguments you have read or will read will fall into one of these "strata".
Anything else is just PRETENSE and playing the Ostrich!
We know ourselves now?

Lastpage!

BTW: before you post anything, PLEASE be honest enough to tell us "where you belong" in the stratification!
Thank you !!! These people are too bigotted
