Lagos could be another Jerusalem. lol Split the city. Just joking.  grin

I do not expect Lagos to be split if Nigeria is split. However, I do not think Igbos should leave Lagos if Nigeria does split. Some Igbos feel more comfortable in Lagos than the East, because that city is the only place they know.

I would hope that accommodations be made for these people to stay and thrive.
and since you know that, why try to get them uncomfortable just because of an igbo governor undecided

Last time I checked, it was not an Igbo man who was Premier of the East at the same period. It was an Ibibio man. Igbos had no problem with this.

People need to stop viewing this as "ruling" of other and focus on "working" on behalf of others. Zik was trying to work on behalf of the people in the South-West. And look how they repay him, but sending him back to the East.

That is when tribalism entered Nigerian politics. That episode.

And you know what people, even in the North, they had other ethnicities in power. Balewa was not a Hausa if you didn't know.
also, talking about edo people owning lagos,

why can't edo people contest in lagos then undecided they do not even make this much noise that you people are making

alj harem, no one can claim ownership of Lagos. Lagos is an international city. Many Igbos were born and bred in Lagos. Are they not Lagosians? Some of them have never been to the East.

Why can't an Igbo man run for governor of Lagos? Igbos are in large numbers in Lagos. They are a large constituent and I see no problem with Igbos running for office in Lagos.

People need to look at people stances on the issues instead of their ethnicity.
i agree with you, but are they no igbos in kaduna, they have never been to the east,; i even know one

can he contest in kaduna?? maybe but i doutb it

also, lagos does not have a high number of igbos

i was reading an article about how the eze indigbo of lagos said "igbo are 40-45 percent in lagos" undecided

my question is what is the percentage of ijaw people, northerners, outside yoruba people, indigenous people, other minorities undecided

it means that if an igbo guy runs for the seat; he can easlly win without the help of the yorubas undecided

but that is not the case, the last igbo guy that ran for the seat won only about 50 votes undecided or there about, so what is going on undecided
(the population of igbos are more than that) but what happened undecided

also there is no ethnicity there, this is the same issue in jos today smiley

Reading through the posts on this thread, I have to finally confirm that most of you are uneducated, period. Education without understanding, reasoning equals nill (zero)!

So by saying 26 parties align with APGA means that an Igbo will be their flagbearer?
Is their no non-Igbo in APGA?

When Chris Ngige ran under ACN in Anambra, did any Igbo cry foul? He actually finished 2nd. This shows the difference between the Igbos and the Yorubas. We are miles apart, no comparison!

Internet forums are becoming breeding ground for deranged people to purge their heart and then on an unknown date, actually carry out their threat like Jared Lee Loughner of Arizona so I'm waiting for the day fstranger will snap, though I know he's a coward.
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

you call them illitrates, i call them clever people wink

obiagu1, please answer this questions in honesty

1.) why should an igbo governor, chairman, or even debuty gorvernor should be in lagos undecided (and please do not tell me about there population in lagos)

2.) if there are fit igbos to rule lagosian, why can't they go to the east and make lifes better for them back there or rule them; why lagos

3.) what happens to the indigenes of lagos, would they be happy that an igbo man is ruling them undecided look at delta state today

4.) look at jos today, do you not think it can happen in lagos even worse because of OPC

5.) why do you think even tinubu a yoruba man like them is having a hard time in lagos just because he is not a born lagosian by heritage undecided

6.) as step1 rightly said, do we igbos not love peace, why should we get involve in lagos state politices when we know the outcome will not be good

7.) do you think the igbos in lagos will vote for an igbo man in lagos(i am not talking about "mama i dey go lagos"wink i am talking about proper full born igbo lagosian,, knowing full well that nigeria is not a country like that

nigeria is a country were whole villagers are kill without a word said undecided

so my question is why should us igbos get involve in SW politics undecided

to my igbo brothers that think this is a good news,,smh

it is not,,, it is a very terrible move by apga

lagos will be jos when igbos start coming out for power just like the hausas in jos cry cry

think my igbo brothers and eze nidigbo better watch out because this is a very bad move by igbos

do not think just because the yorubas are detribalized that they are fools undecided

look at kwara, an emir has been ruling it for over a century until lawal was the governor and intall an oba there,, what does that tell you

killing in lagos will be terrible because lagos is covered with atlest 3 yoruba states in all direction apart from the south

The standardized Igbo is not dying but the various distinct dialects are dying. Most Igbos can neither speak nor understand their own dialects and some are even unaware of the existence of their dialects. What I see is a future where Igbo will just be one language while some Igbos that dissociated themselves on time will be the only ones retaining their dialects.
then it is better the dialects die so the unity of igbos can be kept

I know as at 6 years ago,1 Nigerian local language is compulsory for every school and for those of us that were born in the east,it became automatically Igbo. One of my cousins born and breed in Jos did write Igbo as against Hausa up there in the north. smiley
i know 1 language is compulsory in local schools, but private schools niko huh

also, what about scholarship programs for the best igbo students just like it is done in the north for some students smiley,,, that why the survival of igbo language is ensured wink

but why can't igbo language be a compulsory subject in schools in the east. also, parents should be encouarged to speak igbo to there children
