sorry ola edo, was this directed to you undecided

is that nigerian history or propaganda lies accompany with the lies your parents have been telling you

Mukina2 and Seun, i love this site just like millions of others that read comment on this site even if they are not registered to nairaland

i admire the work and commitment made by nairaland staffs and mods

there has been something really destroying this website, and i think people who are reading commitments on this site are getting tried of.

the issue of biafra is really the problem here; some of my igbo brothers on this website have been make propaganda's, lies and all sort off other things to make northerners and other nigerians look bad in the face of the outside world.

the pictures posted in the crime section is an example of sure, for the past 2 weeks now everyone have been enjoying nairaland because it few ethnocentric people sure as some of my igbo brothers have been out of this site

other nigerias sure as yorubas, kanuris, hausa, igala, ijaws, itsekiri, edo, fulani, beroms, etc have been enjoying this site and all it's contents; but each time SOME of my igbo brothers start there ethnocentric views such as "igbo this biafra that" it just spoils the mode of the site.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-582396.192.html#msg7539428

this trend is now making non-nigerians that know nothing about biafra or non of there family die in biafra are now talking about how evil nigerians are.

this is not proper for the image of nigeria at all, this site is for "nigerians and FRIENDS of nigeria" not friends of igbo, yoruba or biafra

i do not think it is proper for biafra war to be displayed almost every day on this site as it is bad for the image of the site and also bad for the image of nigeria and africa

please i appeal to SEUN and MUKINA2 to do something about it

images of biafra war will non bring peace on others but bring hate and strife to others about there neighbouring country men

MzDarkskin, is an unbiased person on these threads. alj harem and Jason, you all are getting upset with her, because she does not support your views. Just shut up please and allow to voice her opinion. We already know your views on this issue.

Atrocities were committed against the Igbo and other Easterners, and the Nigerian FG has the blood of innocence on their hands.

MzDarskin is a proud descendant of Igbos and we Igbos welcome her views.

So you two shut up with all your nonsense. I am getting sick and tired of you two polluting threads!  angry angry

I AGREED with what OTHER Nigerians on here were saying and I find it quite hilarious you decide to pick on me and tell me (like the rest of the ignorant tards on here who share this view>>wink to "stay out of Nigerian affairs" when the OWNER OF THIS SITE clearly says it is for Nigeria and FRIENDS OF NIGERIA. I have read some threads on here about foreign affairs and your opinions about other people, should that give me a reason to go around reporting and demanding that you all focus only of Naija issues? Grow up. It's because of that schitty line about my Jamaican self needing to mind my business why i didn't even bother to read the rest.

For your information, it may not be important you but my ancestors were slaves and many of whom were Igbo, with that having been said at least I have enough common sense to know that the troubles in western and central Africa are DIRECT links to the after effects of the slave trade and the western imperialistic influence that followed thereafter. So, therefore I am part of this issue whether you all want to accept it or not.
missy, did the owner of this site tell you that "biafra and friends of igbo biafra"

good write up

but must our tradition and culture survive aboard undecided

this is what change is all about; what has our tradition achieve for us over the past yrs

why compare Nigeria with china and co when the country is better that ours

i have seen igbo and yoruba children that did there primary, secondary school in nigeria and when they get aboard, they forget even there language,,,, this is not something new

i even seen a yoruba mother that live with her children in lagos and here children can not speak broken english not to talk of even yoruba as a language. i have seen igbo parents in lagos that there children can not speak igbo but instead learn yoruba as there second language.

so i really do not see the big deal in that, people can decide to teach or learn there languge or not; it is not really a big deal

so long as you can communicate with the people around you ; be it english; there is no problem.

@ Odumchi. . .a lot of your arguments are very naive and pedestrian! You cannot expect EVERYONE to share your point of view! You may deny that charge all you want but it is evident in your posts. A lot of people here have made VERY good points to address your post but NO, they are WRONG and you are RIGHT! I have been to the East, lived in the East, had relations from the East. . .same with the West and the North! I have been out of Nigeria and back and I tell you that Easterners are NOT the only ones suffering! I have made 100's of posts in the politics section, like a lot of other people have, and there's hardly anything to be said that has not been said by the thousands of people here! Like you think Easterners suffer, Westerners suffer too! In fact, the Northerners are the poorest and suffering the MOST but all the so called useless and clueless leaders are the ones enjoying and their immediate families! While you were making your posts, some of the Eastern "leaders" were exchanging billions of Naira with the Northerners "leaders" and some Western "leaders" were sharing the future and wealth of their people with the Easterners! Until you see the real big picture and something is done about it by Nigerians AS A WHOLE, a billion posts and arguments on NL does nothing! This is my first post in this section in a long time as me too I am so tired of all the wahala about Nigeria!
thank you

The other day, the president said that each state lacking a tertiary institution, would have one during his 1st term in office - as if it would solve the comatose state of higher eduction in the country. What about the already-existing Universities? What programs does he have to ensure that they're better standardised and reflect 21st century higher education instead of merely increasing the number of institutions? How would this airport be viable economically? Bayelsa state is not even a commercial/business state. What about ensuring economically viable airports such as Enugu's or Asaba's renovation and development are sped-up. If he intends to spend money in Bayelsa, surely he should come up with better projects which are beneficial to the state's populace.
grin

Demand to fly in that airport will not be high. The most important airport in that area is Port Harcourt. The population of Bayelsa state is not high enough to warrant an airport.

The rush to build airports is a waste of money. I am from Umuahia and when I come to Nigeria through Lagos or Abuja. I do not fly to my hometown. I fly to Owerri, which is not that far. And it is no hassle. The people of Bayelsa can simply use the airport at Port Harcourt. It is not that far.

Why don't they use that money they are using to build this airport to build better roads in the region? It would be cheaper and more cost effective.

Why wouldn't we be friends? Just because we have different opinion doesn't mean we can't be friends. I am not here to make enemies my brother.

Do you see how Narrow minded you are? Goodluck Jonathsn Hails from the East doesn't he? His middle name "Ebere" means he is from an Igbo speaking group in the East and FYI Ebere means mercy in Igbo.

Goodluck Jonathan is the first true president ever since the "return of democracy" in 1999. Infact, the only true leaders that Nigeria has ever had are Abubakr Tafawa Balewa (who is one of the most humble leaders in our history, Nnamdi azikiwe, Awolowo, and Goodluck Jonathan. odumchi:
@alj harem

I am the narrow minded one while you ask "Why must there be an Igbo president?"  there should be one because EVERYONE DESERVES A CHANCE. Every human being in Nigeria has a right to be president. There are three main groups which makes it a 1:3 chance that an Igbo man can be president, but everytime it is the other two that win. I am simply advocating the cause if my people and speaking for them.

Jonathan is not an ethnic Igbo, Igbo speaking does not mean Igbo. We all speak English it doesnt mean we are ethnic English .

I am also not an ethnocentric person. I love all ethnic groups whether it be Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Ijaws, Fulani or Efik. We are all Gods people. What I hate is when one group uses their power tower over another and deny another if their basic rights as human beings born in Nigeria.

Unlike you, I am a well versed guy in history and politics and I cam spit out the history of each ethnic group. Hausas are pastoral people who hail from the Sahel region. They traded with the Trans-Saharan Berber peoples of North Africa and pioneered Islam, the first monotheistic religion to penetrate into w. Africa, into Sub-Saharan Africa. Modern day Hausas gave lost the devotion to God that their ancestors had (not all of them), and have devalued terms such as Alhaji, Caliph and Sultan. These terms have become simple prefixes that are used to intimidate other peoples.

I love Nigeria, and you want me to leave you alone? NO I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE UNTIL YOU LEAVE MY PEOPLE ALONE.

Owuru inasuIgbo nuru nka Ndigbo diike.
sorry brother, but i do not know were you are going to with this undecided

was jonathan not told he was an igbo man and given a title in ohaneze

did he not tell ojukwu(smh) that he is an igbo man and ojukwu agreed to it undecided

secondly, who is stopping igbos from contesting but in nigeria and other states in nigeria undecided

did i not make it clear that i do not care if he is igbo, efik, tiv, yoruba etc undecided

i know u are not ethnocentric but u just want an igbo president,,,right !

the question is, why did igbos in PDP not produce there candidate for the primaries undecided is it because they believe they can not win huh

is APGA in going to produce a presidental candidate this election (maybe ojukwu); who will stop APGA from contesting this election if they produce an igbo candidate

thridly, i ask why should an igbo produce a candidate because i thought we were NIGERIANS not igbo kanuri or yorubas

why you talk of igbo, is as if they are different from NIGERIA; like how a mexican migrate isin america saying he wants to be the president after only spending 1 yr in america

fourthly, all your history you have learnt is good for exam purposes only

also i am happy you know your history well,,; good for you

did you know ekeweme was once the vice-president of nigeria

did you know nnamadi azikiwe was once the president of nigeria (although that is debatable since there was no election)

ask yourself this question, when last as an edo person been the president of this country (never) are they complaining

when last as a kanuri man been the president of nigeria (NEVER apart from abacha which as a coup)

when has an ibibio person been the president

when has an igala person been the persident ,.,.,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,etc

and you are here talking about equality and fairness "hisses"

it is not only igbos were have in the country ,,,,ok we have other groups in fact about 250 other group and non of them have whin like you igbos ON THIS FORUM
