Jakumo: Sadly, Ayatollah Buhari is suffering from the advaced stages of penile syphilis, which he contracted from a nocturnal liaison with a dead camel, but even worse, what remains of his brain has, due to this grievous illness, shrivelled down to a microscopic size small enough to be dislodged and vented out of his bony cranium via his enormous ears, should the slightest wind blow when he is outdoors.
Ayatollah Buhari's hysterical ranting and issuance of daily ultimatums are all well known medical symptoms of his severely debilitated physical and mental condition. I submit this disclosure with bitter tears in my eyes, knowing that my favourite punch-bag will soon be fertilizing the desert soil of his goat herding village, for the rest of all time, and after LOSING ten consecutive presidential elections in a row. is he telling a lie how is he suffering from whatever u call it,,, if a country at 50 yrs of independence can not have constant eleelectricityood secsecuritystem, a free and fair election, 2.1 billion can go missing and no one can locate the money back capcapitalojects are for looters for the taken no good road, boko haram, mend, opc , massop etc are all there, why should we still be in nigeria buhari is right |

excanny: I understood what Tench is saying. But I'm going by the sense of the word Os's which means those devoted to the service of the gods. His own point is that such devoted ones are not considered outcasts in his place. I agree, but that doesn't change the fact that their family is tied to those gods. It's just the belief system that determines how you consider certain concepts. OK brother, i perfectly understand what you are saying but if that is the case, most Yoruba's go by the name fadeye, etc does that mean they are also outcast (i know they are osu) because my say in Lagos about 80% of the people i meant we either fa something (ifa) or sangodeyi (Sango) or even ogunsola (ogun) etc,,,, please i would like you knowledge on this thanks |

Akhenaten: Haven't you heard of the untouchables (dalits) in India? They are one of the largest outcast groups in the world. 160 million Indians are considered untouchables, in which they are the lowest of India's caste system and are treated with disdain.
In Hawaii you have the Kauwa caste, which are considered the slave out outcast caste. Among the Wolof, you have the the jaam, which are considered the slave caste and the neeno, which are the underclass.
The Somali people also have a caste system as well, in which the Mahdiban are considered outcasts. You will also find outcast among the Tuareg and in Mauritania as well.
That really speaks volumes about your limited knowledge of the world. Now stop making ignorant statements. Cause your post make you look like an asinine buffoon. i am not in a fight with u oooooo but do not bring the fight to me or else u will HATE nairaland for the rest of your life,, i tell ya i hope you know my past history so do not even try to take insults at me thank you i hope you will understand and behave youself before it is too late knowing you are new on nairaland, just take it easy because your blood is still hot |

Politics › Re: Gaddafi Slams Nigeria For Handing Over Taylor by aljharem(m): 3:01pm On Jan 08, 2011 |
Afam: Ghaddafi is 100% correct here. It was very wrong for Nigeria to hand over Charles Taylor for war crimes because he was betrayed by Nigeria who promised to host him if he would agree to leave Liberia to put an end to the war there.
This is an issue that bothers on trust and credibility and one can only imagine what would happen if a similar scenario plays out where the head of state is being asked to leave the country for the sake of peace - obviously such a leader would cite the Taylor treatment and betrayal and would refuse which means that future mediations led by Nigeria will not be deemed serious or credible.
Why must the West demand for the trial of African leaders and a few other leaders from outside Africa where as the powerful nations commit worse crimes and their presidents are never tried?
Why is Bush not facing war crime charges in the Hague for the illegal invasion of Iraq based on lies that has led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands if not millions?
Handing over Charles Taylor was wrong and unfortunate. This decision will hurt Nigeria the most as time goes on because we have basically told the world that we cannot be trusted to keep to our words.
Instead of attacking Ghaddafi we should analyze his comments. The average Nigerian is not doing any better than the average Libyan and that is based on the people oriented projects and policies of this man. Good leadership is about the citizens being happy not about whether the White House of No 10 Downing Street approves of such leadership. bros what are you talkin about |

excanny: ^^^ Then you dont know what an Osu is. That you dont discriminate against them in your place doesn't make it different from the way they would have been treated were it in Igbo land.
Idol worshipping is not just extolled in Igbo land. Osus are in the sense of the world supposed to be given special respect, since they are in the service of the gods.
Like I previously said, Osus are everywhere in the world. The only difference is that they are seen as ill-luck in Igboland and thus treated as 'outcasts', while in other lands they are revered and respected.
Moreover, this isn't about Yoruba vs Igbo thing. I've been trying to get similar situations from other cultures, though it's hard since not much is published about these peoples. So take your tribalistic mind elsewhere.
EDITED: Slightly tewmuch, i do not think u understand what tewmuch has posted he is saying there are no osu in there land,,, he said those surnames are given to families that have worshiped some god in the olden days i really do not think there are osu's in yorubaland or anywhere else expect maybe briton (gypsis) but all in all i will be happy if that part of our culture is gone |

Everything goes!
OBJ threatened Peter Odili with arrest in 2007; that was the reason Odili dropped out of the race.
Abiola was arrested after he won an election!
So I wouldnt put anything past GEJ; Tinubu is a crook and they can legally arrest him
And BTW, they dont have to arrest him, they can also kill him, prolly a better option. thank you seant i undersatand that tiunbu is viewed as your leader but he is a crook and can never be compared to awolowo or even jakande during tiunbu era what did he do your your yoruba people not to talk of lagosain he was even fighting with fashola the person that makes him look good tinubu is really not good for the yoruba people, he has too many enemies and even in lagos he is not loved even isale eko(real lagos of lagos) he is not loved there because of Ajose who rules that area does not llike him |

Andre Uweh: Superstition was very rife in the 19th century Igboland and Africa. What our fathers believed in then is not what we believed in today. They so much believed in the santity of ALA, as a result they will go to any extent to keep it sacred. But killing of twins was not Igbowide, only a handful of clans practiced it then including my own very clan. It was prominent in the Ibibio-Efik areas as a result Mary Slessor devoted her time fighting against this obnoxious tradition in that area. At the moment, we should be thankful to christianity for all the good tidings it brought to mankind not just in Africa but the entire universe. thank you Andre for sharing with us fstranger, i think you should respect there culture, because it is a rich an vibrant culture also, abortion is not any better than killing of twin when they are born |

a political solution will NOT solve a problem that is largely religious, those guys were taught it is the acceptable, and honorable thing to kill infidels , and unless these teachings are stopped in earnest, they'd continue to kill faster than my neighbor can tell lies i am not sure of the figures but u made a good point there the problem is not the religion but the politicians that are using our religion as a tool for violence this is taught to the illiterates and those that do not really know much about Islam i mean the leader of boko haram a leader that is meant to be arrested for treason our religion has never preached violence before but in recent times there is a disturbing thread that is going on,,,may be due to the media of america but in the past it is not so also, illegal school are built were children are been taught crap about islam they should be raided and destroyed if a region recieves less public attention, terrorism takes place |
