pcmadu: HABA, WHY DO YOU PEOPLE LIE JUST TO PROVE A POINT?
HOW CAN ANYBODY SAY YORUBA ARE MORE IN THE NORTH THAN IGBOS, I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN KADUNA AND MY FATHER OWN A SCHOOL AND HOTELS IN KADUNA(MY FAMILY IS VERY INFLUENTIAL IN THE NORTH, WE EVEN SPECK HAUSA THAN IGBO). THEIR ARE WAY MORE IGBOS THAN YORUBA IN THE NORTH, INFACT IN KADUNA THE ONLY PLACE YOU WOULD SEE A LOT OF YORUBAS ARE IN A REMOTE AREA IN KAKURI(STILL IGBOS OUT NUMBER THEM THEIR). EVERYWHERE IN THE NORTH IGBOS OUT NUMBER THE YORUBA INCLUDING JOS, THE REASON WHY PEOPLE MIGHT THINK ITS EVEN IN JOS IS BECAUSE MOST IGBOS STAY IN THE SUBURBAN AREA(BECAUSE OVER TIME THEY HAVE MADE MONEY AND MOVED FROM THE CROWNED AREA TO THE RICH AND QUIT NEIGHBORHOOD JUST LIKE ROCHAS OKOROCHA WHO MADE HIS MONEY IN JOS).
I DONT GET INVOLVE WITH ALL THESE DIRTY POLITIC BUT DONT LIE JUST TO PROVE YOUR POINT bros, just because you see a man who you think to be fulani, kanuri, or hausa does not mean he is any of the above he might be a northern yoruba he his name might be IBRAHIM MOHAMMED etc and dress like an hausa/fulani he might even be speaking hausa but ask he might still be yoruba or nupe or even igala we are not aguring about the igbo population which we all know is large but we are saying the yorubas int he north are more than the igbo |

Dede1: You can never disapoint. You read Rino.5dm’s rubbish and you could only muster this gibberish; “Na wa oh, so na naija women all of una dey abuse? Are you ppl mentally stable? For real, I'd say Nigerian men are the big time prost-itutes.”
Yet you have the effrontery to repudiate abadaba’s response to rhino’s idiotic fantasy. If Rhin.5dm has issue with the thread, he or she could either address the thread originator or the author of the piece. EzeUche: I am getting tired of you, but I wont insult your ethnicity.
I am simply going to insult the skinny little boy who is hiding behind the internet. You think you are strong? You think you are bad? Well stop hiding behind the internet and let us know who you are.
Have fun sleeping with the Igbo outcast. Maybe that will build up your low self-esteem you ugly little man. do not mind rhino, he is just pulling your legs just forget him ok brother remember we are one we all know the importance of igbos in nigeria even their strong women Allah bless ndigbo |

fstranger3: Did I ever dispute that? Andre Uweh: Sometime ago, you said you are from Kukawa LGA in Borno state, I can't be precise now. In that Kukawa, how many Yorubas do you see compared to Ndigbo. In Borno, you have Yorubas who are mostly civil servants while Ndigbo are in business as well as in civil service all over the state and other regions. Do not take away this gospel truth. if you do not believe me, rhino, jarus are northerners ask them |

Andre Uweh: @Al Uche and Jason, Kogi and Kwara states are places that the Yorubas outnumber Ndigbo. Reason, because those states have indigenous Yoruba population. the Igbo in the north have been more assimiliated to the northern culture than the Yorubas have done. It is not surprising that Nigerian soldiers who people thought were Hausas all came home to fight on the Biafran side. @Alh Uche, I thought you are no longer biased but am wrong. Even in your home state Borno, Yorubas are found in Maiduguri while Ndigbo are all over the place even in Malam Fatori and other Chad borders. @Jarus, you being Yoruba will naturally incline you to relate with the Yorubas more than others in Sokoto, but it is not a reason for Yorubas to be more than Ndigbo in Sokoto state. no no no i not saying igbos do not hold a sizable chuck of the population of the north, far from it all i am saying is that in the north there are more yorubiod groups than igbo i do not what to sound baised or anything, believe me on this even in borno state igbos have there area, yorubas have there are as well |

EzeUche: Stop peddling lies. Doing the recent spates of violence in the North, the Yorubas have been bearing the brunt of the attacks.
Even if they are Muslim. Why do you think the Yoruba community in Jos was complaining?
The Hausa to differentiate between Yoruba and other Southern groups. Or have you forgot about that? what yorubas were killed, is it the christian yoruba or the muslim one, please answer ? the jos yorubas are mainly christians and there names like oyedapo etc which sounds yoruba enough if any yoruba is killed in the north, it is always a mistake quote me on this you rearly see yorubas fighting in the north, why it is because before you say you are killing a yoruba man, you have probably killed your friend or family why do you think yorubas are not dealling with igbos in lagos their have been intermarrages for hundreds of years |
Politics › Re: Yoruba The Golden Bride Of Nigerian Politics by AljUche: 9:18pm On Apr 08, 2011 |
EzeUche: Well I hope Yoruba do outnumber Igbo up North. About time. . . Finally Igbos are wise enough to not travel to the North in large numbers, because of the constant danger. as i said earlier, the yorubas in the north are not easy to spot because they dress fulani but the igbos are very easy to spot also a man named Kabiru Ibrahim can be fulani, kanuri, yoruba or hausa even igala or nupe. it all depends on if he tells you he is yoruba or not. i even dare say the population of yorubas in the north are almost at par with my people kanuri. you have not been to the north, i know what i am telling you the good thing is that the northern yorubas are so well adapted to the north they vote like us |
Politics › Re: Yoruba The Golden Bride Of Nigerian Politics by AljUche: 9:06pm On Apr 08, 2011 |
Andre Uweh: @Jason, stop spreading falsehood here. There is no state in the North that Yorubas outnumber Ndigbo. Even Gowon, a former head of state claimed that Ndigbo are second to indigenes any where in the north. Ndigbo and Yorubas are at par in Jos but add up Ndigbo from the South South in Jos, then Ndigbo are more. andre there are more yorubas in the north than igbos believe it or not because they have 2 yoruba state up there secondly if u go to kano or sokoto you would think you are talking to an hausa/fulani man until he tells you his name to some extent i believe jason on the population of yorubas in the north but also i strongly acknowledge the igbo population the thing is that the yorubas in the north have blended with the locals unlike the igbos who can be easlly spotted |
Politics › Re: Yoruba The Golden Bride Of Nigerian Politics by AljUche: 8:16pm On Apr 08, 2011 |
jason
ndigbo still hold the ace card here
because they have a sizable population all over the country in each state
they might not have it is SE OR SS
but it is spread, thus jonathan only needs 25% from each state and i bet ndigbo is at least 15 % in each state so they are still strong |

EzeUche: Abagworo just shut up. You are not welcomed to speak on behalf of the Ndigbo. I revoke your privileges. The way you beg for recognition amongst other groups is not something an Igbo man does. It is beneath us and it is quite sickening that you have been reduced to this.
You don't have to agree with us, but you there is a certain tact you have to realize. Maybe you should learn from Chief Eziachi. We NL Igbos may not agree with Chief Eziachi on certain positions, but we respect his contributions. I cannot say the same about you.
Abagworo the Igbo efulefu. you must be sick brother, have you used you drugs today i am igbo and i do not really support abagworo post here but at the end of the day he has his opinion and either you or i can take that away from him that is the beauty of being igbo no man can take your freedom from you |

Lagosboy: Remi Tinubu desreves to lose woefully, in fact i am really hoping she loses like hell Lagos islanders, mainlanders, surelere guys abeg vote for labour. Remi's loss will humble the chameleon lord of Bourdilloun, it will clip his wings and it will stop them from imposing candidates.
There is no proof that Fashola himself wrote those messages and in fact Tinubu can do it himself and even if fashola did it , it makes no difference as this is not about Fashola but about principles.
@xfactoria abeg rally all your guys and deal Remi a huge blow as she has no use in the senate except to go become a spectator. Tinubu is sending her to Abua so he can have more time for his many girlfriends in Lagos. i rather vote PDP then vote ACN so tinubu can be the overall ruler of lagos in lagos PDP all the way |

ekt_bear: This is pretty much the same thing I've seen. From what I've experienced here in the US (as a guy who has lived here almost his entire life) they aren't too different from everyone else. Not really different from the other Africans, Nigerians, Caribbeans, AAs you'll meet at top schools. . . no overwhelming numerical advantage. . . in fact, most of the time no numerical advantage.
It was only when I started reading Nairaland that I heard of this Igbos as übermenschen theory. If you read Nairaland alone, you'll get the impression that they are pretty much Jews (who are imo are on average a cut above the rest), immigrant Koreans/Chinese/Indians/Persians, or some other extremely high-achieving, badass group.
Who knows, maybe things are different in naija. I've not really observed this personally from my visits, though. i know, i felt the same reading NL until you meet them for real you would know who they are there are 2 types of igbos 1 are the carefree loving igbos awho would treat everyone equally2 are the igbo supremasist that believe they are specially created and better than the world |

PhysicsMHD: I haven't traveled around the world. I live here in the U.S. and I'm in college right now, so I'm not basing my observation on cursory glances through name lists or on sampling from afar.
Let me make it simpler:
1. Igbos have a population of 25-30 million. 2. Igbos go to America more than a country like the UK, so there is already a disproportionately higher number of them in the U.S. when compared with Yoruba. 3. Yet, they don't seem to edging out the Yorubas academically in the U.S., whether we're talking about students in engineering and medicine, or about going on to grad school and/or becoming professors. You would think the gap would be large enough to where you could notice it if what you're asserting is actually true, but the gap between Igbo and Yoruba must be either insignificantly small or not actually existent, despite the (reasonable) assumption that there are more Igbos in the U.S. to begin with. thank you and this yoruba people are not even shouting praises |

Igbo women are being successful. And we are celebrating that fact. Do you even know who is Chief Femi Fani-Kayode? you are asking me who femi is what a dumb question i tell you it is good to celebrate the fact that "igbo" women are the best and so on but when people like igwe1 start saying rubbish about Igwe-1: NIGERIA WILL NEVER REACH ITS BEST potential unless it fully taps into this can-do spirit of IGBOS, just like other countries and organizations have. this are the things that piss me off the most |
