there is no need to reply you. we in ND know better. maybe you think the amnesty is what is keeping the militants quiet. you will be shocked if GEJ does not win the elections. you think just giving some money to these guys will shut them up? you lot will be very shocked. they are just watching patiently and the only reason they have not been reacting to the election issues is because GEJ has prevailed on them not to. it would not be good for his campaign if the militants start to talk tough so they dont want to undermine him. but make no mistake, it was not a mallam that convinced them.

Those qualities are intrinsic in both IGBO men and women. All they need is the right environment and atmosphere and the best in them will come out. If you look at IGBOS in the US and other parts of the world, they are excelling way more than their local citizen counterparts. Now back to this article, the success of IGBO women came to light in the last 12yrs because Nigeria transitioned from a military government that seldomly gives women the opportunity to progress and voice their talent to a democracy that give voice to everyone. Since igbos were not in charge of the military and were often scared of retaliation in those days, they kept their qualities to themselves, waiting for the right time and environment. Though Nigeria's democracy is not perfect, what it did was to give power  and voice (at least some) to the people it belongs to and those are Nigerians.  NIGERIA WILL NEVER REACH ITS BEST potential unless it fully taps into this can-do spirit of IGBOS, just like other countries and organizations have.

Stop being silly. Don't even try to patronise ND people in your pack of lies.
edicolove:
You should not display your foolishness and ignorance in public. it was not Yaradua that gave the amnesty program, it was GEJ. the amnesty was a recommendation that was given to Yaradua when the oil production hit an all time low and security reports indicated that a continued aggression against the militants was going to send Nigeria crashing. GEJ did all the negotiations. Yaradua only endorsed it. dont you see that militants have been very quiet under GEJ's rule? or you are too far away in malaysia to notice. do you think a niger delta militant can ever trust a mallam? GEJ is trusted in niger delta and that is why militancy has greatly reduced. you just say stuff without thinking. do you think niger deltans are like you? they cant forget the saro wiwa days. the same abacha that buhari worked for. buhari hardly visited niger delta all the while he was PTF head. you think we can easily forget that? we are not fools. make no mistake. we will fight for and defend our own.

When you singled out anyone as our tormentor in the open, its a huge mistake and I can't see why you doeS so with the northerners. The reason both Ribadu/Buhari both chose their running mates from the West is the fact that Yorubas somehow managed to turn their land as the battle ground for thiss presidential election and out people handed it out to an Ijaw man on a platter for his kindness of having an Igbo middle names.

I kept telling you to wait until after  this election and you will see clearer this errors. Whatever you do, do not always show your opponents your jokers, keep them to your chest, even when they worth nothing and that aura of not knowing will always be your defence.
Ngige though in ACN and I want him to remain there as it kept his aura going. Ngige has managed to positioned himself as a big Igbo poliical asset, when he chose never to return to PDP, until now, when he chose to ran for the senate he doesnt need.

I just hope that he will win, if not his own is finished, believe me! if he lose to Akunyili.

When Soludo came out to run for governorship, remember I was against it because I knew whether non Igbos love him or hate him, he could have been a good political asset for the future if he had left and went back to his banking job like Okonjo Iwuala and wait for the future like her.

But he was so naive first to went into bed with Aneni,in an election Ojukwu has stake his whole aura and JONATHAN planning ahead of time for the Igbo vote, did not want to upset Ojukwu when he refused to campaign for SOLUDO his party candidate in Anambra and finally GEJ even plannedd and encouraged Akunyili to join the APGA just for the Igbo votes he had succeeded getting through the APGA endorsement.

Unless Jonathan being what human's can be when it comes to power,he will not run in 2015 and if for any reason you think that he will hand over to an Igboman, please think again. Who is that Igbo man Jonathan will hand over to?

Like a football team fighting for survival at the bottom of the league, make sure you play so much well that your destiny will always be in your hand, but once it slips and you are now banking your survival on someone's else generosity to help you survive or achieve your goal of survival, you will be steering relegation in the face. Ndigbo is too sophisticated to place their future in the hand of an Ijaw man.
Who would have thought of that?
what about kalu, when is he going to take us igbos to the promised land in nigeria

he is clearly the leader we need right now

My freind/brother, the wish of every caring father is to make sure that his children do not have to pass through the fire like him in order to have a bite to eat. Not to soften their part to life but to prepare them in a way that they will have the chance and opportunity like every other kid.

We suffered all kind of indignation, humiliation, harwork so that your generation will stand shoulder to shoulder without blinking first against anyone. So if your uncle sound like me, it might be a good idea to listen to him.

I am a father/grandfather, I remembered the first time my daughter came home with the boy that wants to marry her. As a father, I do not bring out my best vintage wine  to serve the nervous prospective inlaw or even have anytime for him. In fact I ignored him, told him to make an appointment if he wants to see me, I a going out and my wife/daughter afterward regards me worse than Saddam Hussaine.

But what I was doing as a father is making sure through words and body language to the boy that my daughter is not cheap, she is a well refined gold in my eyes as a father and if he loved and wants her as a wife, he will need to work very hard and convince me/family that he means business for the long term, not something he will fancy today because he is the most beautiful girl around and discard tomorrow or seeing our family as a meal ticket.
I want to know that he is the kind of guy, when after 2-3 times of breadfeeding, that my daughetr will still make his heart jump.

I am happy to report that I got what I wanted because after 10 years they are still together, loved up, with 2 great kids and she still has a wonderful carreer as a  newscaster with the Aljazeera network. Because I set the ground rules for my son inlaw on what I considered my daughter to be worth and how she should be treated.

But at the time my daughter based on her little experience of life cannot see what I foresaw and my wife too was carried away with romantic spirits swamming around or may be busy dreaming about the hat she will wear at the wedding and forget the most important thing our daughter's future .

Why am I saying this?  It is the fact that APGA/Peter Obi/Ohaneze are like an irresponsible father who gave their beautiful daughter (NDIGBO) away to a boy (Jonathan) they hadly knew at the first asking. They didn't make him sweat even if they liked him, should they have placed all their card on the table?

They should have told him that there are other suitors hanging around the corner waiting for their chance, therefore show me something in concrete that if I gave you what you wanted that my daughter will not come back to me in a couple of months  time asking why I didn't stop her?
Some fathers may give their daughters away at the first asking and the marriage ended up working out in the end, but that is called taking a chance, and my daughter or Igboland is too precious for her future to based or placed on chance, I want to make sure I did my best, even if it failed to work in the end, because no one can accurately foretell the future, I will beat my chest and say that I did my best under the circumstances.
Yorubas has sat down with beer in one hand and cigar on the other watching as everybody sweat for their votes, they still hold the ace because politicians are desperate and when people are desperate, they ten to give more than they would hsve wished.
Whether it workS out as they thought in future or not is never the issue, because they have done what they suppose to have done in a crooked political terrain as in Nigeria and to top it up ACN is even poised to take back Ogun/Oyo and other elective positions taken away from them by fraud.

If Peter Obi/APGA/Ohaneze has some brain without selling our people cheap to an Ijaw mn Jonathan, nothing stops APGA taking over everything in Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and then give PDP a good fight in Enugu, Rivers and Delta.
I hope I am wrong about the future but if I continue to sound like your uncle, it shows that we care and we will hate to to see you going back to square one. Thank you

Sick haba, no need for bad language, my bro,

when we speak we speak with figures,

Duke embarked on that project without proper due diligence, we told him the amount he was borrowing from the World Bank was just to much burden for the state to bear and all he needed to do was do the project in Phases

Build one and generate revenue to sustain another but he went on building all over the place like an fool

eg: Their is a honey making factory in Tinapa that employs people, we said to him make the factory bigger, start to make honey and other stuff you can sell/export to generate revenue and then the money coming in is used to service another part of the project,

na he just ignored us all

what was Liyel Imokes cry as soon as he took over, he said there is no money in the treasury,

Duke might have meant well but his ego got in the way by trying to Finish Tinapa in one whole swoop.

Ok back to your line of argument, of no airport,

Will you take Hippopotamus to an Area where there is drought or no water/pool at all and expect them to survive, naaaaaa

PDP did not frustrate Duke, he himself was leading himself blindly, why build like a bush man and then think of Airport afterwards, look at Tinapas
1st plane it was phased but Duke thought Rome was built in a day

Go to Kenya and see only Lions and Tigers generating money for tourism with less capital expended in the whole experience.

he must have thought Disney was built in one day,

Have u bn to Disney b4 u will see that year after tear they add a new ride or new experiences
to the  park to make it more interesting and eventful, They did not buuld Disney in 1 day

I am not talking of Tinapa form you tube video or NTA /CNN advert, we are talking 4rm facts based on experience

That is all Im saying and I think I deserve an apology for you to call me sick just because u don't agree with my line of thought
ok sorry for such language

i am trully sorry brother, next time i would be more civiled cheesy cheesy cheesy smiley wink

Please Please don't insult us by naming Donald Duke amongst the bright ones, some 1 who used all his states resources to build Tinapa (white elephant project)that was a waste,  when he could have used the resources to fix the poverty and educational challenges that were starring him in his face.

Who dey visit the Tinapa (much expensive than a 2 week holiday abroad) that he built on his ego trip.

The project should have bn in phases. Finish off 1 phase start to generate money from 1 and use it to build the other phase,

Noo he wanted to finish it all in one go so his name could be on the records to say Donald Duke finished this, what a fool for a young lad,

Build Cable Car dey put Coat of Arms inside am for President OBJ to see and swell for head, on top nothing

check ot the so called Tinapa , middle class man cannot even afford to go for 2 days and yet he thinks its a laudible project,

No be only lion dey Kenya Games Reserve and dey make more from tourism than the whole 9ija put together.  sad

Sorry Duke was and is a noise maker playing to the gallery. I was not one of the ones bn fooled, I could see right through him,  huh huh

Building cable cars in a country that has no power, (LOL) I watch and see people praising him and I think they dont know
the amount of underage Prostitution going on in Cross River due to negligence of Education in Dukes time.

I have videos of schools with no chairs and blackboards in that state. Pupils sitting on bare floors to listen to lectures.

Yet he uses peoples money to invite Maxi Priest to come and sing @ their so called 30 day dance of shame called Carnival

A state where they do 30 days shame dancing and call it carnival  sad sad

What a very productive way to shut a state down for 30 days.

He has so brain washed the people dancing with his wife in town like the head clown. and calling it Tourism shame, His successor Liyel Imoke too has joined
the same bandwagonw as well, Using the so called Carnival to steal state money angry with his wife shaking her big bosom all over town in the carnival train,
idiots,

The fella even uses state money to organise one yeye silly mountain marathon (obudu race) and boasts in shame that its the most expensive mountain cross country in the whole world in terms of prize money, 1 yeye oyinbo boy go come win amd and we pay them the prize money in dollars call world press to come and see , all these in the midst of poverty in his state,  Talk about getting your priorities right, afterwards for the night party , he picks up his saxophone with his daughter and they start to blow one kind yeye tune,  to the galerry,  what a shame,

i dey laf ooooo, pleazee pleaze 4 get Deziani Madueke I begii, she is just all talk and English with nothing upsupstair, she can carry on boning GEJ to retain her Petroleum Portfolio. we all know anyway,   embarassed
you must be sick in the head to call duke's project a white elephant project

do you not know that without an international airport, how do you expect such place to grow

was it not this same PDP that frustrated duke out of the project angry angry angry angry angry

Eziachi:
My brother/friend, If I can tell you how really worried I am for the Igbo nation now you cannot believe it. This year/election alone whatever remain of Ndigbo in their so called Nigeria has been decimated.
First they pushed off ogbulafor for trying to say the truth and overnight they hanged a corrupt charges over his head and he went silent. In comes Okwy nwodo, willing and able to dance to their tune with the first music of zoning is dead and the rest is now history.
When they got their wish, Nwodo misunderstood his important when he tried to instill real democratic process against the mighty governors and he was immediately told that he was no longer needed. The governors made Jonathan and Jonathan promised them automatic ticket or the chance to choose their successors, so who is Nwodo and Jonathaan immediatly sacrificed him.
And Nwodo was handed out the most disgraceful treatment ever to be metted out to any NIGERIAN politiician since Shugaba.

So in just one stroke NDIGBO practically killed zoning, so a northerner get nwodo's position. Why not? after all zoning is dead and they will even get the biggest shock after the election because after all zoning is dead.

But don't get me wrong, I am not an advocate of zoning as a means of finding good leaders but this is NIGERIA, to survive you have to know how and when to play the game to survive. Now as we speak, Ndigbo is dead in PDP and what did the oppostion from Igbo land did courtesy of APGA? We don't have a presidential candidate- Jonathan is now one of us and he is our inlaw, he will get our 100% vote and Oheneze seconded with amen because as they madly believed GEJ will handover to them in 2015 and then went up north promising CIROMA and others, that by 2015, the presidency is there own for take.
whether this last gimmick by APGA/OHANEZE has the final blessing of Our IKEMBA, no one can tell as PETER OBI is now more PDP than Jonathan himself, how quickly people forget. So Ndigbo has succeeded in putting all their eggs in one basket and their is no backup left.
Compared that scenario to the Yoruba's. Love them or hate them they understood the politics of crooked Nigeria. If Buhari is to win, hurray! they are number two without asking. If Jonathan winS, Obasanjo is still in charge. No matter what happened in this election, both Buhari/Jonathan has vow not to be involved in 2015 and if their words is to be kept, the YORUBA has a standby and untainted gold bar like candidate positioned for 2015 in Fashola.

If this election is to end up in a run-off, ACN populated by the Yorubas will be the bride and meanwhile there is every chance that they will recover everything they lost in 2003 in Yorubaland because JONATHAN dare ot rig there as he is desperate to get their vote to upset Buhari, so any rigging like that of 2003 is a dooms day for him, so he was willing to sacrifice the likes of Gbenga Daniel.

Look at even our backyard in Akwa Ibom, ACN is well positioned today to snatch it away from Akpabio/PDP and only few months ago, there is no such thing as ACN over there. What stopped APGA harvesting what ACN is now reaping in Akwa Ibom? Bad politics and bad leadership. What stopped Peter Obi becoming a Tinubu in Igboland when our icon is ready to do anything for him? Lack of foresightedness.

So after this election, whatever remained of Nigeria, Ndigbo may find themselves where they were in 1970 despite what my generation has suffered and endured for this generation and if Ojukwu finally is to die? Its not even worth thinking about.

The entire AFENIFERE leadership endorsed OBJ in 2003, AD governors in the 6 SW states reached an agreement with OBJ to support him, while in return he will back them to return as governors.

So who voted for BUHARI in the SW that would have made obj lose in SW as you claimed.?

I did not release the result of ther candidates in SW. For your information even OJUKWU PERFORMED BETTER THAN BUHARI IN LAGOS. OJUKWU GOT 8% as against Buhari's 7%.

IBADAN-FOUR years after he left office, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, admitted that the people in the South West did not vote for him in 1999 and 2003, saying they did so for reasons best known to them and commended the people of Northern Nigerian for voting for him during the 1999 and 2003 presidential elections.
This came as the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, carefully avoided the former president who went to his palace to pay him homage.
Unlike, in the past, when the relationship between Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Chief Obasanjo was cordial, a source told Vanguard that the monarch had traveled out of the ancient town of Oyo even though, the ex-president had reportedly informed the monarch of his visit.
Just last week, the son of the monarch, Prince Akeem Adeyemi and some lawmakers in the domains of Alaafin defected to the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.
Vanguard also gathered that the rally recorded some causalties as two buses of the loyalists of Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala who had gone to the rally somersaulted on arrival at Moniya area of Ibadan.
The buses reportedly skidded off the road when they got to Moniya area of the city.
Though, it was not clear if there was any casualty, an impeccable source told Vanguard that the occupants of the buses sustained injuries. A source told Vanguard in confidence that residents in the city pelted some of the loyalists of the governor with stones as they arrived the town.
Chief Obasanjo said, “we want the PDP to rule and run the affairs of Nigeria and Oyo State. I was voted twice as president. But, those people at my place of birth did not vote for a me. But, those who voted for me in the North and other places did not look at my tribal marks, religion or place of birth, but they looked at what I would be able to do”.

brotherly:
This man i have said it before your brain appears to be too fragile to engage in meaningful discourse.

Use your brain, it wont kill you.
shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
have heard of rigging before

Millions of people voted several times. The police in Lagos uncovered an electoral fraud, finding five million false ballots.
International observers, including the European Union, determined various irregularities in 11 of the 36 Federal States. Thus in many cases votes were pre-filled or results were later amended. In some states those did not fulfill minimum standard for democratic elections.
Nearly all opposition parties refused to recognize the result. The electoral committee noted for example that in the city Warri in the Niger delta of 135,739 voters, 133,529 voted for the parliamentary election. Observers reported, however, that up to the Saturday afternoon no elections and only some polling stations had opened. Also the counting time very long compared with other countries pointed according to observers on possible electoral fraud.
