I never use them ooo, I have to start on the Umuahia house soon as the Enugu house will likely get completed soon. On the other matter, the clip in one of the LED fittings I bought en masse for conduit POP light is not strong enough. I called you because I remember your advice on the thread you educated us about how to spot original fittings. Too late after I saw that thread as I bought this batch last year.

Anyway, I will call you later this week, need to stock up on other items. Some of the items in my home store pictures came from your stock cheesy
Alright chief

Yh, saw the items, was really surprised.

This oga should be ready to pay R1 rate as well (or even commercial rate). And hope he and his tenants won't complain of high rate from the DISCO. Having a dedicated transformer doesn't translate to constant power supply.

Cc: danowena
It actually does to a some extent. Atleast as long as the substation is supplying electricity to that LT line you're sure of electricity.
Some areas have to share light because of the load on thier transformers, so where others are getting rations of the already small supply, you're getting all of it. Especially if you're on 33

Lol, oga I dont see any "us" tho.
just get a specification from your PHCN folks chief, or Your electrical contractor....whichever you intend to do your installation,

you'll also need to know what primary voltage you'll be drawing in, could be 11kv or 33kv

Depend on client specification except where not specified, I use turkey brand of transformer which is durable and have copper coil.

ABB brand new transformers are hard to come by as majority are refurbished.

Nevertheless, I'll hint you on possible best quote.
very true, a good majority are refurbished, trust Naija. In any case I'm talking the real deal. Brand spanking...

In the case that such client specifications arise, just let me know and i'll present you my quote for comparison.

Afternoon house, please i would like an idea of the prices of the below items

10mmx 4c armored (Coleman/Nigerchin)
95mm armoured for upriser. " "
200A Busbar

@allocapcetic and all the electrical bosses your input will be greatly appreciated .
Thanks
grin the word is copacetic my good sir, so basically... allCopacetic.

10mm x 4c armoured
For Nigerchin - 2000-2100
For coleman - 2500-2700
used to be in the same range but Coleman is currently more expensive for 10mm

short lengths/off cuts are generally a little cheaper than drum cuts (hence the price range), because for short lengths you have to buy "as is".
i.e if there is an offcut of 15m and what you actually need is 14m or 16m you'll have to go for the 15m anyways.

95mm x 4c
Nigerchin- not sure
Coleman- 13800-14000

Busbar - dependent on brand

Eventually though, the coating on aluminum claddings would fade. Even automobile and industrial ship coatings fade and needs to be re coated.
well nothing lasts forever, especially outdoors. same applies to paint, tiles etc.

I believe the value is the combination of aesthetic appeal, durability/weather resistance and low maintenance etc. some manufacturers give up to ten years guarantees against de-glossing and loss of colour fidelity.
Of course As with every other kind of material, it also depends on the quality you buy. I "think" coating with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as opposed to polyester paint provides longer lasting finish (i stand to be corrected).

@ pictures, That's a really nice combination by the way.

@ Erico; in addition to what NlresidentQS says, the quantity surveyor is the person responsible for figuring out just what a construction project is going to cost. They have other roles too, especially making sure that construction costs are managed as efficiently as possible.

Quantity surveyors have this title because they prepare a ‘schedule of quantities’ — estimates of the material and labour costs — that contractors’ tenders can be measured against. (However, contractors are not selected for cost alone.) The schedule is also called a cost estimate.

Other names for people employed with quantity surveying qualifications include estimator, cost engineer, cost manager, cost analyst, project coordinator, project cost controller and cost planner.

Quantity surveyors’ main roles are:

• managing the finances for any kind of construction project, whether it’s a house, a high-rise, a bridge, etc

• working to keep the project on time

• working to keep the project within the budget

• making sure that construction costs are managed as efficiently as possible

• Resolving disputes between contracting parties in terms of measurements and cost

Before the project, the quantity surveyors calculate a budget based on their client's requirements. They prepare detailed estimates to ensure the budget is sufficient for each stage of construction.

Their main task is to find out what a construction project will cost, including materials, labour, and services.
I thought that write up looked all too familiar

Isn't this from :

Would be great to cite sources.

Speaking of external wall cladding. I walked into this GTB branch sometime ago and the aesthetics of the external wall finish was quite striking , even from a distance.
At less than 30 yards range i still couldn't tell for sure if it was Aluminium cladding or some other material. I had to get really close.

I believe such nice patterns can be combined with regular brick walls in a creative way to produce beautiful and durable external finishes. Aluminium cladding isn't fur just commercial buildings afterall

They are LED lamps no bulbs needed.

You can use them anywhere as long as it's indoor

So what is the price of this armoured cable? What is the likelihood of the cable having breakages along its length after being buried?
10mmx4 core armoured is 2700 per metre for coleman

breakages ke, lol you're talking about "Ärmoured" cables here not bamboo grin.
the steel wire amour provides mechanical protection, which means the cable can withstand very high stress. so, as longs as you have a clean straight length, breakage is out of the question

the only thing that can occasion discontinuity is when you have armoured cables that have been joined inside by my niggas & homies in Alaba grin or you buy fake imports.

Is it lighting arrestor or thunder protector... Remember you're protecting.

@ Op, there are different diameter of the copper tape and their prices varies. 18mm, 20mm, 22 mm etc. Also Check their inch to determine quality. Next is getting the pure copper brand of furse with is not mixed with any other mineral material. If you are not in Lagos, getting the best quality of furse copper tape should be above 2500 per metre in your location.

A quality thunder protector should be way above 10k.

Earth mat done with copper tape of about 6 metres is 2500k times 6 =15k and this depends on how many you'd want to use.

I bought original furse clamp last time for 2500.

These are all original furse materials. You can spend as much as 250k including labor to protect your house using premium materials and you can also use 50k to do the same job using substandard materials.
You've quite some insight on the subject ma'am... I'm impressed smiley I'm happy with the emphasis on varying qualities of the furse earthing accessories , many are ignorant of this.
About the naming, It Can be called both a protector system or arrestor system, but in either case it has nothing to do with thunder.

Thunder is the sound you hear when lightning strikes.

While Lightning is literally a bolt of electricity caused by charged cloud clouds .

So what the system "arrests" or "protects you" from is the Lightning.

Original 25mm furse tape is actually about 2000, (standard sizes are 12.5, 16, 20, 25mm and above) while a good furse arrestor (rod & spike desgn) is about 8000

I mention rod and spike design because not all arrestors are designed or look like the above . Rod and spike is the norm for residentials tho
A mat made from 6m of tape will be quite large. It'll measure atleast 1m on each square side

Yes we're in Alaba and ikotun.

Bulk purchase? smiley Are you buying in cartons?

I'll advice you concern yourself more with identifying and ending up with good materials. These two things are very critical, and one does not guarantee the other.
Anybody with finance can be an importer, the question is what are you importing.

Ok, what is the advantage of using this over 10mm cable in a 25 mm pipe for a commercial building located in a waterlogged area.
Single cables in a pipe for very minimal depth is a budget choice, but in a waterlogged area, that's a gamble .

In the case of armoured cables, like i said earlier they specifically suited for subterranean application waterlogged or otherwise, and are safe at even over a feet depth

Retilens cables ( commonly mispronounced and misspelt as 'recline') are Aluminium service cables with four individual cables twisted/stranded together. They are designed for open air application .
