talk2riel:That would depend on the quality/brand you buy, I'm sure it probably has a generic driver. people have used these things for years. besides you can replace just the driver in the event that it burns out |
topsy23:Thats the thing, people continue to waste thier hard earned money on fake items in pursuit of cheap prices. Buy good products and enjoy value. There's nothing wrong with being made in china, some of the best qualities in the world are manufactured in China. The problem is the lack of enlightenment that is increasing the demand for fake things in Nigeria, and this is driving the supply, creating a flood of cheap substandard products. |
Noble11:The Nigerian market is flooded with them already.problem is, its mostly trashy quality.please one pic would have served just well. I'm trying to keep the posts here to the barest minimum and the pages as light as possible for easy reading. Hope you understand |
talk2riel:That would depend on your understanding of Expensive, We need to be more calculative in our cost/benefit analysis LED bulbs are cheaper to use than CFLs (spiral bulbs) not just in terms of energy costs but in replacement costs aswell. The savings you make from the use of LED lamps can offset your initial investment within months. consider this a phillips 20w spiral bulb for instance cost about 650-700, while a phillips 6W led bulb (which arguably produces more illumination) cost about N1000 the current elcectricity tarrif for R2 Residential consumers (single phase) served by IKeja disco is approx N21 at 6 hours runtime per day, a 6w led will consume -(6x6x365)wh =13.14kWh in a year working for the same length of time, a 20w cFL will consume- (20x6x365)=43.80kWh in a year with the current tarrif regime it'll cost N(21x13.4)= N281 to run a 6W led bulb, for 6 hrs a day, for one year while it cost N(21x43. =N919.8 to run a 20W CFL bulb for the same periodwhich means for a household with just 10 bulbs you save N(9,198 -2810)= N6,388 every year for your choice of LED over CFL, and N24,784 for LED over a 60W incandecent bulb (using the same analysis as above) in terms of replacement cost, LED bulbs are known to last 2 to 5 times longer than CFLs and 35 to 50 times longer than incandecent bulbs. which means that in 2 to 5 years you would have spent more money buying CFLs than you would on LEDs . The single most important thing is buying a good quality. And note the cost analysis above is for Phillips, which is one of the most expensive brand. there are less expensive alternatives that give good value too. And about being fragile.. as said earlier, they are more durable than most other lamp forms, you just need to spend money on a good quality. these things are used all over the world, and are phasing out other lighting types. Nigeria is no different. besides... 6ft x 6ft LED do you know what dimension you're talking about |
happydays1:please open a thread for your advertising. Kindly remove this or i'll be forced to report this post |
preggi:Definitely, though that would depend on the kind of fixtures and fittings you want to replace. These days there are LED versions of almost every type of lamp or bulb. I'll be showing a couple later. |
lastpage:Ghen Ghen....... Good to have you back . We look forward to some very colourful interractions |
2.Branding you don’t manufacture a good product and then not bother to put your identity on it; Well made products are well and very clearly branded to sell the brand name through the quality it has built into it. avoid products with unbranded drivers. In the pictues above the brand trademark/logo on the LED drivers for both Original Torch and Ossymac are unmistakable, same applies to other quality branded products ....contd. |
1. Build quality and finish generic drivers are generally very light and flimsy looking, Print quality is poor, quality of material used is low/cheap .this includes the electronic components and plastic enclosure. But since you cannot see the resistors, capacitors or diodes used in the lamps but you can see the attached cables .. you can use that as an indication of the general build quality. Look at the big distinction between the quality of cables used for the generic and two different branded types if you also compare the build quality and finish of the plastic enclosure you'll notice even in the pictures that there's a great difference between the generic in the picture above this post and the two branded below ...contd
|
Generic products are generally cheap, mass produced options. They can be said to be made to no particular standard or quality index. They carry no branding or distinguishing feature . So anybody can print a pack with a brand name and package these generic lamps in it. One of the most important parts of an LED lamp is the LED driver. This converts AC to DC which the LEDs require to work. So when you buy any LED lamp look out for the quality of that driver. So What do you look out for in an LED driver ? and how do the branded differ or distinguish themselves from the generic. |
As expected our markets are flooded with the later. 80-85% of LED panel lights in the Nigerian Market, are generic products that carry drivers like the attached.... they'll come in different packages with different brand names on the packets but they are basically and essentially the same
|
And then others that are made in places like thiss…...
|
LED products can be playfully categorized into two… , ones that are made in factories like this....

danowena:Typically orders in the environment of 600k upward sir. But If your order is less, and you have someone who can wait for the paper work and pick the items up, that's not a problem, as long as the quantity is no too small. |
twinskenny:Alright chief |
Excellent selections ..Quality you can count on. For catalogue/price list: buzorokeke@gmail.com, 08089847820 |
fash78:Thank you sir, appreciate the kind comments. You'll only run to us for more items, not complains ![]() |
ckenneths:Oh sweet Jesus. Please tell me this isn't true. Did this really happen at your site?? |
mank1234:ABB - would be in the same tier with Schneider, I personally prefer schneider tho. Havells - just a little below INDOASIAN, even tho they're both made in India . |
spyder880:When i'm ready ke? I was born ready . Lol Alright chief, I'll hit you up to tomorrow morning . |
Advantages -Reduction in energy costs — uses at least 80% less energy than incandescent lighting, saving on operating expenses. -Reduction in maintenance costs — lasts 35 to 50 times longer than incandescent lighting and about 2 to 5 times longer than fluorescent lighting (for good qualities). -LEDs produce very little heat. -Is durable — won’t break like a bulb. -Brightness is equal to or greater than existing lighting technologies (incandescent or fluorescent) and light is well distributed over the area lit by the fixture. -Light output remains constant over time, only decreasing towards the end of the rated lifetime (at least 35,000 hours or 12 years based on use of 8 hours per day). -Excellent color quality. The shade of white light appears clear and consistent over time. LED technology is now available for almost every form of lighting fixture or need: Chandeliers, wall lamps (indoor and outdoor), spotlights, drop/pendant lights etc LED lamps are sensitive to excessive heat, their efficiency and life span drop at higher temperatures, this emphasizes the need for a quality/brand that is well made and incorporates materials with proper heat dissipation characteristics and elements |
spyder880:Your boy is good sir, just hunger. That's a D6 TPN Board, if i count correctly. The choice will ultimately depend on your clients budget sir. In order of preference and cost range: Schneider- Lord of the Rings INDOASIAN -strong contender ABt - Budget choice I wouldnt advice anything below ABt. these pipes must be really nice, the branding and quality of print alone tells alot. I wonder why we have to import pvc materials into the country when there are myriads of plastic companies in Nigeria that can make products like this that are far better than the substandard mass productions most importers bring in. I remember those days when "Kano Pipe" was king. |
n3xt:thats the point bro, what gets the job done for A might not get the job done for B. How many people consume up to 30GB of data in a month , let alone 60GB. for such fair users they might never experience any throttling. because they're still with fair usage. But for heavy users who like to download the internet in one night, they quickly exceed that threshold and thier speed gets throttled. and if talk about speeds.....
|
gabbytabby:But madam gabby, everybody's house does not share the same electrical plan as yours, things are located differently and the piping network is different. I'm not saying 5 is not too much ...neither am I saying 2 is too little, the point I'm making is you cannot generalize without having certain information at hand first. There are houses where the gen sets are placed as far away from the building as possible, and the travel path from the supply termination point in the building to the generator is in excess of 30mts, for a 3phase generator that translates to 120mts, thats over a coil already. In your house the meters and d/ boards might be just 5mts apart for every flat , while in some other house it could be thrice that distance, you never know. And three phase supply does not just mean having three different lines or having a three phase board, you can have both and still have a single phase connection to the board which is what obtains 90% of the time and what is likely the case in your house too . unless you're about to tell me you got three phase meters for your tenants. |
n3xt:Chief we're talking about Smile and you're posting speeds and comments about mainone. It's not just about creating a plan and calling it unlimited....is it truely and by evry parameter "unlimited" If the plan was truly unlimited, there would be nothing to upgrade to. They simply removed some "limitations" on the so called "unlimited" plan, repackaged it and added the premium tag, Even Ntel that is currently offering great speeds in abuja and advertising its internet plans as unlimited still puts a "fair usuage" caveat. friends who have been on the smile unlimited plan have complained of speed throttling when dey cross the 60GB threshold. Maybe there is but I'm yet to come across any Mainone single/home user devices like other wifi service providers have. |
.. |
mavverick:yea sure, its a wifi router alright , but here unlike in the west, data plans have both data and time cap, in most parts of the west u either have unlimited data and speed for a given period or a given data cap that you can use for an almost unlimited period. Its either one of the two. but here, its both. to fully enjoy ip based TV you really need "truely" unlimited data connection. not a data plan where your speed is throttled after what is considered "fair usage" |
gbadexy:500 Likes, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and especially "drive for quality" this is I respect, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. we really need to develop and support local content. Keep your standards up sir, and let your offerings truly match your sales pitch |
n3xt:Unlimited for where ? after 60GB, your connection speed is throttled down to snail speeds. na that one be unlimited? actually there's quite some perceptible difference in the 1080p and 1080i resolutions, but this is visible on TVs larger than 50'' , when the objects on the screen are fast moving, and also dependent on viewer's proximity to the screen. I dont understand a word of what you're saying from the third paragraph down .lol |
preggi:I will in due course, have to post in bits, the spambot appears to have a hardon for my moniker |
There's a revolution in the lighting market, and the catalyst is the light-emitting diode technology, better known as LED An LED lamp is a light-emitting diode product which is assembled into a lamp (or light bulb) for use in lighting fixtures. LED lamps have a lifespan and electrical efficiency which are several times longer than incandescent lamps, and significantly more efficient than most fluorescent lamps, with some chips able to emit more than 300 lumens per watt (as claimed by some LED manufacturers). The LED lamp market is projected to grow by more than twelve-fold over the next decade LED LIGHTING IS CURRENTLY WITHOUT QUESTION, THE SMART WAY TO GO Over the years, lighting technology has evolved from the use of incandescent bulbs, to CFLs (spiral bulbs) and now LEDs. A significant difference from other light sources is that the light is more directional, i.e., emitted as a narrower beam. LED lamps are used for both general and special-purpose lighting. White-light LED lamps have longer life expectancy and higher efficiency (more light for the same electricity) than most other lighting when used at the proper temperature ...contd |
Here, try this. http://www.printmagicng.com/templates/one-sided-business-cards/ It's an inexpensive and great value option. They have ready-made templates so you don't even need to worry about designing. Cheers |

Let's do this, I will be needing the ABt board to replace this, let's do watsapp when you are ready, "friendly" costs and shipping to Enugu as soon as possible. Let's factor wires (Coleman) and other items like gear switches and Busbar.
