danowena:Look closely Its 72 + 20 The 20 coils of 1.5mm green are listed separately (numb 3) |
diordaves:I think you should find out what brand of TV cable you're getting |
skimanski:A consumer unit is a single phase distribution board. what you're describing is essentially a Meter board |
olawale100:(Diameter squared)/4 is the same as radius squared |
danowena:.... 1.5mm- 92 vs 60 2.5mm- 60 vs 48 4mm- 36 vs 13 That's about half a million diff , and it's a worst case scenario. Everything ultimately depends on your piping network and the size of your rooms . You could even "manage" 4mm for the cooker |
|
danowena: ![]() 1. Go a size down for the earthing ( i.e. earth 2.5 with 1.5, earth 4mm with 2.5mm and so on) 2. Estimate the total lighting and power cables for a flat and multiply by 6 3. Optimally locate your meter points ( d/board is obviously already fixed in location ) to minimize the distance between your meter and D/board , it'll help save on load cables To estimate the lighting and power cables: -How many sockets .....per b/ room and living room? -How many wall lighting points as per above -Do you intend to have pop ceilings and hence pop lighting? If the rooms are large, and you intend to have pop lighting, the below is an "approximate" quantity , i don't see it requiring more than the below though. The load cable is listed already.... That's the 10mm 25mm, is that copper or aluminum for servicing? ***Edit, 2.5mm should be 48 not 32 sorry

Our Recommended brands of choice for panel lights include Original Torch, Ossymac, SMART, LAXON, AKT and a few others. Unfortunately, these popular brands are as always, heavily adulterated. In light of this challenge, we continually strive to offer the best qualities at competitive prices and deliver a quality assurance that is second to none
|
DesChyko:Ossymac is shown here as an example of a branded product, and is one of our recommended Brands, please read and understand the posts correctly |
How do I request for a thread to be taken off front page please? Are there specific mods for the front page? |

ABB, Schneider,LEGRAND, INDOASIAN, Havells, We got you. purchase/enquiries: buzorokeke@gmail.com 08089847820 |
ceaser:A lot of good brands are more inexpensive than phillips, a generic cannot work as good or last as long as a higher quality branded if they work under the same conditions, in as much as the components differ in quality and specification. Besides, if they're generic (unbranded) how do you identify the type that "might" last long. thats the essence branding, giving an identity to a specific quality. regular LED drivers like all the above attached are not polarity sensitive either |
Because LED lamps are generally very durable, (by virtue of the technology employed) and because electricity is barely existent here…. You can buy these cheap generic variants and they might serve you well for over six , twelve or more months. But If you get twelve months from a generic, be assured you’ll get considerably longer service from a higher quality branded . In addition , you’ll enjoy higher light output per watt (luminous efficacy) with the higher quality branded types .i.e you get brighter, more efficient lighting. |
4. Distinctive/innovative features - New or distinctive features will constantly be added to good products to improve functionalilty. If you look at the clips on the sides of the two branded panel lights below you’ll notice the extra plastic added to make clip sturdier and the grip firmer. Manufacturers of generic brands wont bother with extra features like that because they’re gunning for low costs
|
3.Manufac. specifications Sadly not many bother to read product specifications. most times the information you need to guide your choice is right in front of you. from the listed specs on the drivers below you’ll notice the branded drivers can both output 300mA, while the generic outputs just 110mA that’s only about one third the output current produced by the other two.
