Contrary to the report made by Sahara Reporters yesterday that the DPO of Asokoro police division, CSP Nnanna Ama, invaded the meeting of the G7 governors at the Kano government lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, with a retinue of officers; that he was enraged after the governors dare him to do his worst which led him into ordering the governors to remain on their seats. Meanwhile, reverse was the case as the DPO got to the venue where the meeting of the G7 governors was being held and his men were locked outside while he was taken to the inner room to explain to the governors why he was there. The DPO was unable to say anything reasonable to defend his visit. He only whispered in the ear of the Kano State Governor for about 30 seconds and he was asked by the governors to get out from the venue. The DPO left the venue in total shame. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/11/contrary-to-report-asokoro-dpo-didnt.html https://twitter.com/allroundgist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t_zXWsPwkE |
Waconzy, the 'Celebrate' crooner, appeared as guest on 'Rubbin' Minds, and he spoke about his life, the businesses he is involved with outside the entertainment industry and his music in comparison with other artistes. The Port-Harcourt raised artiste claimed that his songs had good lyrical content and would live after him. He said: "I don't want to do my music because I wanna make all the money out of my music. I can as well make money from my company. My music must be there even when I'm gone." He went ahead to diss some Nigerian music artist by calling their songs 'noise and meaningless'. He said: "I don't believe in all these stuff these little children do these days. They do songs they don't have meaning, they just wanna make noise, this is bull sh*t you know." With Ebuka probing further into the identity of the little children he considers as noise makers, Waconzy responded by mentioning Olamide, Timaya, Davido, Tonto Dike, Terry G, among some of the artistes who make hit songs but do not make music. He also commended artists like Tiwa Savage, Waje, Bez, Tuface Idibia, D'Banj; He stated that their music contained good lyrics and would remain evergreen. He advised artistes to embrace hiring song writers if they could not do the job themselves. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/11/waconzy-calls-olamide-timaya-davido.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WalX6MAUovA |

People have been arguing and denying that president Goodluck Jonathan promised only one term in office. While campaigning for President Jonathan, Former president Olusegun Obasanjo said "Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has already taken a unique and unprecedented step of declaring that he will only want to be a one term president." Once Nigerians achieve their political goals, they forget all the promises they made while campaigning. Just like they say, never trust what a man says when he is in cloud-7 because once he lands back to earth, he will be like "wtf...i don't remember saying that..." lol Watch the below video and find out for yourselves. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/10/did-president-jonathan-promised-one.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgSyI0xJ5Ak |
Alleged PDP thugs disrupted the proceedings of the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue/Conference in Benin City yesterday when they stopped Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and others from making contributions to the ongoing talks. Col Tony Nyiam (rtd), a member of the committee was the arrowhead of the disruption as he shouted down the Governor while making his contribution. The Governor who took the stage to make his contribution shortly after the Isoko Ethnic group had made their contribution said he objected to spending huge public funds on a wasteful venture saying, during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo, money was spent on similar conference and at the end, nothing positive came out of that conference. He said:"I will be surprised if anything changes. Sincerely, I have no business to deceive or mislead anyone. I believe that the outcome of this conference will not be different from that of other conferences we have had in the past." But as soon as Governor Oshiomhole made this statement, committee member, Col Nyiam jumped to his feet and would perhaps have lunged at the Governor were they close enough. He was restrained by other members who were taken aback by his action. Even while the Governor was still making his contribution, Nyiam started screaming at the top of his voice for the Governor to shut up and sit down. He was then joined by alleged PDP thugs who disrupted the whole proceedings and many dashed for safety as a result of the unruliness of the committee member and thugs. The Governor who insisted on concluding his remarks however yielded the floor when the thugs were getting violent and he was booed out of the venue. However, the Governor had a courtesy visit in his office by members of the Committee led by Senator Femi Okurounmu, he insisted he had no faith in the whole process. Oshiomhole said: "...all I owe Nigeria now is to speak my mind. It could be error of my head but certainly not of my heart. As much as I wish you well, I just want to say that I have no faith in this process and I do not think it was necessary at all. I am unable to find any basis to give me some illusion that this exercise will not be different from the others. And I honestly think that in terms of the private sector, when a country keeps debating how we can live together that cannot be one of the basis on which the outside community will invest in Nigeria. They may well wait until we know how we want to live in Nigeria." He lamented that 53-years after independence, Nigerians still prefer to look at themselves from their ethnic origin rather than being Nigerians, saying, "for me, I am just a Nigerian". "I do not think that more than hundred years when we have set aside billions of naira to celebrate the centenary commemorating the amalgamation of the North and Southern Nigeria, and we have lived together as one country for over a hundred years, and we have gone through independence, we have been free for fifty three years and we are coming back to ask the question, how could we be there. I think Nigeria needs to address very serious issues. When I see eminent Nigerians discussing this issue, I am sure they know that Nigeria’s problem is not this politics of sharing which the national dialogue is all about, who is getting what, who has this natural endowment, who should do this or not do this. For me this is the act of perfecting poverty. The real challenge is getting Nigeria back to production. The real challenge is creating industrial base and this cannot be resolved through conferences. We have moved from parliamentary system in our own wisdom to the presidential system. We have test-run it and it was aborted by the military and it has re-incarnated in the present form. Nigeria does need a serious reflection about how to return to those core values that made Nigeria work before. Those healthy competition between the governments, visit the whole question of attitude and unless that changes, I do not see how any dialogue can work." he said. The Governor noted "I was discussing with somebody last week and he noted that this is the eleventh conference and I ask what ten conferences could not do, how would the eleventh one do it? Why do we think we can continue doing the same thing the same old way and think that this time the outcome would be different?" The Governor said nobody convenes a meeting without stating an agenda and asking others to draw up an agenda for that meeting adding "from conception we know we want to talk but we do not know what we want to talk about." Earlier the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue/Conference, Senator Femi Okurounmu said they were in Benin as part of their visits to the six geo political zones to get their input as regards the content of the agenda, the duration, choice of delegation and legal framework. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/10/adams-oshiomhole-escapes-being-lynch.html#more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZU4DZ7oFLA |

Yesterday, a press statement was released from Edo State governor who denied hosting Dillish Mattew, the winner of BBA 'The Chase' some days ago in Edo State. In the statement, the rumor was debunked and the intention was made known to host Dillish in the nearest future for advertising and declaring in the BBA House that Edo State people are very hospitable, and to prove to her that Edo State is not only hospitable, but also a safe haven for those who intend to do legitimate business in the State. One Mr Eddie Iroh of Daily Independent was accused of writing about the fake story that later went viral. The truth is, Linda Ikeji wrote about the story and claimed to have details of Dillish visit to Edo State. After the press release yesterday, Linda Ikeji busted the governor's bubble when she posted the press release to her blog and insisted that the governor lied about not hosting Dillish. She wrote: "....They can say the government didn't host her, but Governor Adams Oshiomhole hosted her...and that's fact! She wasn't hosted at the government house, but the governor's private house in Edo state. Dillish and a few other girls were there on Saturday October 19th (for those wondering why she didn't make an appearance at Selly's party in Abuja that day) and I have the low down of everything that went down but I will leave all that out because after all said and done, Gov Oshimhole is a single man. I can also tell you one thing for free, Dillish gave a condition for accepting the invitation..she would only pay a courtesy visit and nothing more. All parties agreed!" So, with all of these claims, who is lying and who is telling the truth? Last month, Adams Oshiomhole smiled to the bank when he won N25 Million in legal battle against 'News Of The People' magazine for publishing that he impregnated his teenage lover. I wonder who is going to sue who this time. Anyway, I'm sipping my kparanga and laughing in Chinese language. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/10/gov-adams-oshiomhole-lied-about-not.html#more

The rumor that the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole hosted Dillish, the winner of BBA 'The Chase' in Edo State flooded the social networks some days ago and Nigerians lambast the governor for misusing the state's funds for his personal selfish interest. Really? #clearthroat! PRESS STATEMENT. EDO STATE GOVERNMENT DID NOT HOST BBA’S DILLISH. Our attention has been drawn to a news report in Daily Independent of Friday, October 25, 2013, where one Mr. Eddie Iroh was quoted as expressing displeasure on a rumoured hosting of Dillish, the winner of Big Brother Africa. In the said report, Eddie Iroh was said to have “condemned the Governor for spending state’s funds so recklessly”. The report added inter alia that “ the likes of Governors Oshiomhole, Fashola and Dickson who are in the habit of dipping their hands into public funds on such ventures should have known that in civilized climes, such celebrations were funded from the Governors’ pockets and not public funds”.How libelous! From the above, it is obvious that Mr. Eddie Iroh is suffering from brain wave. First, it would have been a thing of interest for Edo State Government to host the said BBA winner, Dillish, to justify her well-advertised declaration in the BBA House that Edo State people are very hospitable. That in itself was a global endorsement that is purely priceless. Again, if Dillish would agree, as a BBA ambassador, Edo State Government would be willing to host her in future to prove to cynics and naysayers like Eddie Iroh that Edo State is indeed, not only hospitable, but also a safe haven for those who intend to do legitimate business in the State. It will be a departure from orchestrated and concocted stories often peddled by jobless people like Eddie Iroh, who rather than devote their old age to reflect on their absurdities when they called the shots, have now taken to the cyber space for surfing cheap gossip, chit-chat and unfounded allegations. To the best of our knowledge, Edo State did not host Dillish in whatever material particular. This could be verified from the Governor’s daily routines which are usually available for public consumption and can be confirmed from the Protocol Department of the Governor’s Office or Government House. Mr. Eddie Iroh’s comment is pure hallucination. Eddie Iroh’s story is an open sore that is festered with several incongruities, inanities, ambiguities and failing memory. He should provide evidence to show that Governor Oshiomhole dips his hands into public funds to host his private visitors or simply keep his mouth shut. We have gone past the age of Eddie Iroh, an age of those men of yesterday, who abused public institutions they presided over, to fest their nest at the expense of tax payers’ money. In Edo State, we are not only accountable to the people; we have also earned their respect and trust. Signed PRINCE KASSIM AFEGBUA SPECIAL ADVISER MEDIA & PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO THE EDO STATE GOVERNOR. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/10/edo-state-governor-release-statement-to.html#more

When they say Nigeria is a poor country sometimes I try to falsify that by making a specific substitution from “Poor country” to a mentally poor country”. Yes we are mentally poor and our academic degrees have nothing to do with it because when the so called educated Nigerians have the opportunity to serve their fatherland they turn into educated smart thieves. How possible is it that in a poor country an aviation minister can easily acquire two official cars worth “$796,846.21” i:e (N255,150,000)? Just a minster from one ministry!!! How can the citizens of a poor country easily cough out 34 billion for just a church auditorium? Why are private jets synonymous with a poor country? Yet the same people depend on foreign aid to eradicate polio and cholera in the same country the elites are synonymous with medical tourism. N255,150,000 + 34,000,000,000 is enough to eradicate malaria to at least 80% the same amount of money is enough to equip at least 10 standard general hospitals to meet up with international standards anywhere in the word that is if I’m not underestimating. #wejustgetmumusense. http://www.allaroundgist.com/ |
A Nigerian notorious gang leader who has been in jail since 2009, has been denied Nigerian Nationality. He was rejected by the Nigerian High Commission who said he isn't a Nigerian and not eligible for a Nigerian passport that would enhance his deportation back to Nigeria even though he speaks a Nigerian dialect. I'm sure you would understand their point after reading through and watching the video. There are more than enough criminals to deal with in Nigeria and we surely don't need more of them. lol According to Daily Mail, A notorious gang ‘general’ who poses a ‘serious threat to the public’ could be back on Britain’s streets within months because ministers have failed to have him deported. Joland Giwa, whose street name is Dexter, led a campaign of terror on the streets of Croydon, South London, and is ready ‘at any time to use knives and weapons’, police say. In a gangster-style YouTube video, he is seen boasting about having stabbed a man ‘in the f****** head’ and threatening to attack other gangs who intrude on his territory. He has been held since 2009 when he finished a jail sentence, but immigration officials have failed to secure him a passport, as two different African countries, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, both refuse to accept he is one of theirs. Yesterday a judge ruled that immigration officials had three months to get him travel documents and if they failed Giwa should be released. Critics said the ‘ridiculous’ case demonstrated Britain’s powerlessness to remove foreign criminals living here illegally. Tory MP Douglas Carswell said: ‘A thug on the streets of south London who is terrorising innocent Londoners and who is not even in the country legally should be removed.’ Giwa, 24, is the self-proclaimed ‘general’ in charge of the Don’t Say Nothing gang – known as DSN – with a string of convictions for theft and robbery. In 2007, the DSN gang was behind a surge in violence on the streets of Croydon which saw stabbings, shootings and murder, police say. Officers linked Giwa to at least 99 incidents of criminal or anti-social behaviour. One former officer told Giwa’s immigration hearing he has a ‘clear propensity for violence’ and poses a ‘serious threat to the public’. Darin Birmingham, a former police sergeant, said Giwa had no fear of ‘confrontation and violence’ and was ready at any time to use knives and other weapons. But he would also maintain a façade of respectfulness towards police officers. In a clip uploaded to YouTube, he is seen shouting a string of obscenities and threats at the camera, stating: ‘I am the f****** general.’ He adds: ‘I have shanked [stabbed] a man in the f****** head.’ The video prompted a spate of gang violence against rival groups Terror Zone from Mitcham and a Thornton Heath gang called Shine My Nine. Giwa landed at Heathrow aged 10 on a flight from Nigeria with his twin brother but no parent or guardian, in 1999. He had no identity documents and claimed asylum on the spot, telling officials he was from Sierra Leone and his parents were killed in the civil war in that country. He claimed a stranger had rescued him and his brother and put them on a plane. His asylum claim was refused but he was given permission to stay for four years, before permanent leave was granted in 2005. By then he already had a conviction for handling stolen goods, and over the next four years he committed a string of robberies and thefts which resulted in a 27-month jail term in February 2009. Time served meant he was due for release later that year. At the time, he posted a picture on Facebook of himself in his cell, taken on a smuggled mobile phone. An internet post said he would be ‘touching road real soon’. But instead he was held in an immigration centre as officials tried to kick him out of the UK. In March 2011 he was transferred to high security Belmarsh prison after intelligence suggested he was involved in smuggling drugs into the detention centre. His brother Make was jailed for trying to smuggle heroin and sim cards in to Belmarsh last year. Meanwhile, both Nigeria and Sierra Leone have refused to recognise him as a national of their country or to give him a passport. After interviewing him in 2010 the Sierra Leone High Commission said the ‘tribe he mentioned is not a Sierra Leone tribe’ – and claimed he was Nigerian. But the Nigerian High Commission says he isn’t Nigerian. In July this year a fresh approach was made to Sierra Leone to get him a passport. A meeting with an immigration official from the country is due to take place this week. At the High Court, Giwa’s lawyer said his detention was no longer reasonable, but the Home Office insisted there was still a ‘realistic prospect of removal’ to Sierra Leone. Judge John Keyser QC, said the Home Office was ‘entirely justified in coming to the view that the claimant presents a very significant risk both of absconding and re-offending’ and that he presents a ‘serious risk of violence’. But he said the length of his detention – 53 months – had been ‘pushed to the limit of what is capable of being considered reasonable’, and set a deadline of three months before Giwa should be let out. A Home Office spokesman said: ‘We are pleased with the court’s decision to dismiss Joland Giwa’s legal challenge against his detention. ‘Giwa is a dangerous individual and he remains in immigration detention while work continues to remove him from the UK.’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcvtk0cR1wA http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2472353/DSN-leader-Joland-Giwa-set-walk-free-Britain-kick-country.html http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/10/a-nigerian-criminal-in-london-jail-has.html

Two Nigerian airports which made the number 1 & 5 of the 'Worst Airports in Africa 2012' list, are back on the list for the nomination of the 'Worst Airport in Africa 2013'. Murtala Muhammed International Airport made the number one list last year with the below review from a lady-traveller. "My first experience with the Lagos airport was in 2007 and renovations had been underway and in 2012 construction is still in place . The airport is dusty and noisy there are noticeable improvements but overall the airport still not up to scratch .No seating landside and airside plenty of seating but construction dust make them unusable." -ladytraveller. While the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, ranked number 5 on the list with the below review. "Probably the highest concentration of hustlers in comparison to the other Nigerian airports. https://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02703/clinton_2703305b.jpg Fearless London traffic warden places ticket on Hillary Clinton's Mercedes - despite five security agents ordering him to leave. The Westminster City Council warden put a £80 penalty notice on a silver Mercedes vehicle (centre) in Central London which had taken former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton (left) to an event at Chatham House. The row was caught on camera by photographer Greg Brennan, who said five of her guards were waiting inside a Mercedes van next to her car at the time because it was raining. The warden then arrived and put a ticket on the car, prompting her security detail to jump out of the van in protest (right), Mr Brennan said. She had earlier arrived in a motorcade of five cars with around 10 security agents, Mr Brennan told MailOnline. Her car was parked in a bay on St James's Square in Mayfair, which costs £3.30 per hour. The warden then arrived and put a ticket on the car which had transported 65-year-old Mrs Clinton to the event, prompting her security detail to jump out of the van in protest, Mr Brennan said. The photographer claimed he saw one of the agents angrily waving his arms and flashing his badge to the warden, who remained unflustered and continued to issue the ticket to Mrs Clinton’s vehicle. Cllr Daniel Astaire, Westminster City Council cabinet member for business, told MailOnline: 'Despite our traffic marshal being questioned by the secret service for just doing his job, he was in the right. 'The former US Secretary of State was parked for nearly 45 minutes without paying. I’m sure she will understand that we have to be fair to everyone, regardless of their status on the world stage. The heavy downpour of rain in Edo state destroyed people's properties, made many homeless, grounded school activities, and made school environment unbearable for pupils. When i posted some pictures of Edo state flood, most people didn't believe it but now there is a video to show what the people of the state are going through. Both the children and adults are suffering and crying out for help. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/09/school-activities-grounded-people.html#more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7lGxUMo3tc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv5ats1qe4E |
I read this inspirational message that broke my heart and i hope it touches you and you learn something from it. Pastor Jeremiah Steepek transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service, only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food – no one in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit in the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him. As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation. "We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek." The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation. The homeless man sitting in the back stood up and started walking down the aisle. The clapping stopped with all eyes on him. He walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment then he recited, "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world." "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." "Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?" "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'" After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning. Many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame. He then said, "Today I see a gathering of people, not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples. When will YOU decide to become disciples?" He then dismissed service until next week. Following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ should be more than just talk. It ought to be a lifestyle that others around you can love about you and share in. http://worldobserveronline.com/2013/09/26/church-members-mistreat-homeless-man-church-unaware-pastor-disguise/ http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/09/church-members-mistreat-homeless-man-in.html

A High Court sitting in Benin City, today, 25th Sept. 2013, awarded N25m damages for a libelous publication in favour of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State against Dockland Communications Limited, publishers of News of the People magazine. In suit no B/556/2011 Justice Efe Ikponmwonba ruled that Dockland Communications failed to prove the veracity of a libelous headline “Oshiomhole’s sex power exposed: Impregnates young girl six months after death of wife”, and a story on page 19 of its magazine published in 2011. The Governor had taken Dockland Communications Limited, publishers of "News of the People"to court after failing to retract the said story and meet the conditions of apologizing to him as contained in a letter to them by his lawyers, Ken Mozia and Associates. Oshiomhole who asked the court to award him N250 million in damages maintained that the defendant, among other things, falsely wrote that he bought a jeep for the said girl whom he was alleged to have impregnated and that he was interfering in the academic activities of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, on behalf of the girl; that he used sexual performance enhancement drugs and that he had performed traditional marriage rites precedent to a marriage between him and the said girl. During trial, the Governor had under cross-examination said “I am a public officer, and as you have rightly pointed out as a Governor, what I do or fail to do is important. My character is important and people’s opinion of my personal life is important. My children are still in agony. The magazine published this just a few months after my wife passed away and this publication coincided with my daughter’s wedding. A Governor whom I invited for the wedding asked me if I was the one going to wed or my daughter. Your image as a public officer is very important. He continued that: “after this publication, I had very serious family crisis because my children were still in grief over the death of their mother.” He told the Court after the defendant’s counsel asked him to show how his character was damaged, that his conclusion from the story and that of many people who called him after reading the story was that he uses drugs. Reacting to the judgment, Counsel to Governor Oshiomhole, Barrister Femi Owootori of Ken Mozia and Associates Chambers said “we as solicitors to the governor wrote a letter to the company asking for a retraction of the publication. But the newspaper stuck to its gun and refused to retract the publication. So we gave the necessary notice and took legal action to sue for libel and the case has been on. We closed our case rather than come in for defence, the defendants said they were resting their case on the claimants case which is a strategy suggesting that the claimant had made no case. But unfortunately for them when the judgment was being delivered it was exhaustively analysed. “Even though our claim was for N250 million, considering the status of the person against whom the publication was made, the court awarded N25 million and N10,000 cost because the court agreed with our submission that the publication was a tissue of lies” He urged journalists to cross-check their facts before publication. http://www.allaroundgist.com/2013/09/court-awards-n25m-to-adams-oshiomhole.html#more
