Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Collects Money In Exchange For God's Word. by AllRoundGist(op): 12:51pm On Jul 29, 2013

Who is holding 'Higher Life Conference' in the UK?
Christianity EtcPastor Chris Oyakhilome Collects Money In Exchange For God's Word. by AllRoundGist(op): 12:38pm On Jul 29, 2013
I used to hear people preach that salvation is free but nowadays, salvation has gotten a price tag. Pastors have turned churches into business enterprises and the word of God is now marketable. I know some die-hard, brainwashed Nigerian christians will object to criticizing any pastor because according to them, 'pastors are spirit led' and no one should question their actions.

I'm a Christ Embassy member oh....but that doesn't mean i should shut up when people are being brainwashed all in the name of christianity. Where in the bible did Jesus or any of his disciples asked for money in exchange for God's word? Was the world smaller than it is right now that pastors now use every given opportunity to milk christians all in the name of 'sharing God's word around the world'? Abi whoever wrote the bible omitted that Jesus and his disciples used jets and luxury cars to share God's word around the world?

Pastoring is now the latest booming career in Nigeria which has led even native doctors into becoming automatic pastors. Na who want carry last? Everybody is now spirit filled. lol

With all the mega donations, offerings, tithes, seed sowing, etc... from church members, people are now asked to buy tickets so as to be able to listen to God's word from a 'man of God'.

These days, pastors preach nothing other than 'prosperity'. Salvation and repentance are no longer in vogue, the more they preach prosperity and giving, they more money they make.

They collect from the poor who strive to make ends meet and use it to live a luxury life, build mega schools for the rich, drive luxury cars, fly with jets, wears designers clothes and shoes, live in mega houses while the tithe, offering givers and seed sowers live in 'face-me-i-face-you' houses and buy 'okrika clothes'.

Christianity has seriously gone wrong and all these so called pastors are now using it to milk people for their own selfish interests. Pastors, are you not supposed to live a simple life on earth and wait for your reward in heaven? I just hope he won't be collecting Tithes and Offerings after the gate fees and i hope he pays whoever wrote the bible for marketing what's in it. SMH!

FamilyShame On Nigerian First Lady & Shame On The Senates - Stella Damasus by AllRoundGist(op): 2:32pm On Jul 22, 2013
Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has come out to speak her mind and express her anger over the issue of underaged marriage being discussed by the Nigerian senators. The actress diss Nigeria first lady, Patience Jonathan, who lends her voice in matters that has nothing to do with her but shuts her mouth on important issues like this.

She said:

"....of all the issues facing this country, corruption, energy, unemployment, infrastructural deficiency, health, education, security, our senators have decided to waste taxpayers money by sitting down to discuss on how to enable this shameless-randy-old men to marry underaged children legally....this shameless senator (Ahmed Sani Yarima) should not make Nigeria a sharia state, Nigeria is not an islamic country. Do not impose the evil desires of your heart on an entire nation using religion as a cover. There are no distinction between child marriage and slavery. If anything, child marriage is worse"

"...wait a minute, where is the first lady of Nigeria, Patient Jonathan? Why haven't we heard your voice? You derive pleasure in lending to issue that do not concern you but this issue is right under you and we are expecting to hear your voice because afterall, you are the mother of the nation. Mother of Nigeria...Madam, if you do not stand up and put a stop to this madness, i'm really sorry but SHAME and shame on all the 35 senators who have voted to support this bill...."

PoliticsUN Declared Malala Yousafzai's Birthday "World Malala's Day" + UN Her Speech by AllRoundGist(op): 10:15am On Jul 13, 2013
Yesterday 12 July, was Malala Yousafzai's 16th birthday and the United Nations declared it as Malala's Day. She gave an extraordinary speech to the UN on her birthday, it was her first public speech since last October when the Taliban tried to kill her by shooting her in the head on her way from school. In her speech, she made reference to the shooting, saying "I've been shot, they also shot my friends. They believed that bullet would have silenced us, but they failed. From the silence, thousands of voices have been raised. What have they got? The weakness, fear, helplessness died but the strength, power, courage have emerged."

"I am the same Malala, my ambitions are the same, my dreams are the same. I do not hate anyone. I am here to speak for the right to education. I want also the sons and daughters of the Taliban are educated and if I were with a gun in his hand in front of the Taliban who shot me did not kill him. This is the compassion that I learned from Muhammad, Jesus Christ and Buddha, by Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Mohammed Ali Jinnah, from my mother and father and from my soul "

She continued by saying "Remember one thing, this Malala Day is not my day; she said at the UN, Today is a day dedicated to every woman, every child, every girl who has raised his voice to defend its rights. There are hundreds of social activists who not only speak but they fight for peace, education, equality. Many give their lives, many were injured. I am just one of them."

She pointed out that the true Islam is not the Taliban, "Their God is a small conservative who sends women to hell if they study," She explained, "because they use Islam for their personal goals." She stressed the right of women to education: "I do not ask men to fight for them, but I say to my sisters to be brave, to fight for themselves." She called on world leaders to change their policy in favor of peace and tolerance. Extremists, she explained, anywhere in the world "are afraid of books and pens, they are afraid of the power of women's voices. This, she noted, is the reason why 14 students were killed in Quetta and teachers in northern Pakistan, and schools burnt down in Nigeria "

Beyonce Knowles penned her a birthday message and i was shocked to discover that very few people know about Malala and what she stands for. So, let's educate ourselves a little about who she is.

Malala Yousafzai is a 16 years-old student and activist of Pakistan, she is the youngest candidate for the Noble Prize for peace. She started going to school when she was 5 and was stopped from going to school when she was 9 years old in 2007. In 2009, she started writing a blog under pseudonym for BBC, detailing her life under Taliban rule, their attempt to take control of the valley and her views on promoting education for girls. When she finally got her rights back, she continued fighting to the rights of other children who wanted to get back to school. She spoke on different platforms, to world newspapers, TV channels and local media outlets.

In October 9,2012, she was attacked in Swat in an assassination attempt by Taliban gunmen while she was returning from school on a school bus. She was shot in the head and some of her friends were killed. the incident sparked the entire world, from presidents of countries to common people, everyone was praying for her health and fast recovery. She was unconscious and in critical condition, then she was taken to the UK, to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for treatment and when she came out from coma, the first thing she asked for was her books and started crying when she couldn't get her book. She went back to school after her recovery and gave a message to the world that she will now fight for the entire world and women's rights.

In the April 29th issue of Time Magazine, Malala was featured as one of "The 100 Most Influential People In The World". Her picture was featured on the front cover of the magazine and was listed in the Icon section. Malala's section was written by former first daughter of the USA, Chelsea Clinton.

The former British Prime Minister and current UN special Envoy for global education, Gordon Brown, launched a United Nation petition in Malala's name using the slogan "I am Malala", demanding that all children worldwide be in school by the end of 2015. 4 million signatures have been collected for the petition.

FamilyA Paralysed Man Gave Away £20,000 His Treatment Money To Save A Disabled Boy by AllRoundGist(op): 2:55pm On Jul 12, 2013
This is the story of one of the very few angels and hero living among us today.
Four years ago, 25-years-old Dan Black was paralysed in a cycling accident and he also suffered a stroke which made him lose the use of his right arm.

Ever since, he has been raising money for pioneering stem cell treatment which could one day help him walk. After raising £20,000, this 25-years-old abandoned his own dream when he heard about a 5-years-old little boy, Brecon Vaughan, who has cerebral palsy and needs help to pay for surgery in the U.S to enable him take his first unaided steps.

Brecon was born with a rare spastic diplegia cerebral palsy which causes stiffness in his legs, poor balance and coordination. He has to use a walking frame to get around and his family are desperately trying to raise £60,000 for an operation in America to help him walk unaided for the first time.

Mr Black who is a wheelchair-bound said he made the extraordinary gesture because Brecon had a better chance of walking then he does. "I know for me that things aren't going to get better anytime soon, I just wanted to do something that could help someone whose life could get better. Brecon can definitely walk if he has the surgery. I wouldn't wish being paralysed on anyone, so if I can help someone walk, I will and I'm trying to give him something I can't have."

Mr Black was knocked off his bike by a car in 2009 on his way to work, he broke a vertebrae which left him paralysed from the chest down, he also suffered a stroke as he recovered in the hospital and that left him without the use of his right arm. He requires 24-hours care at his home in Lianvair Discoed, near Chepstow, which cost £180,000 a year.

Brecon was born with two dislocated hips. He was put in a pelvic harness at five days old and had had three operations by the time he was 13-months-old. His family are desperately trying to find £60,000 to send him to America for a procedure called selective dorsal rhizotomy.

His mother, 44-years-old Ann Drewery, described Mr Black's gift as 'Phenomenal'. She said, "What Dan has done is brilliant, so many people have helped Brecon and we are grateful to them all."

Brecon's father, 44-years-old Rob Vaughan, said, "Dan has given us a phenomenal amount of money. I don't think it is even possible to say how grateful we are or to put into words what it means. It's incredible! How do you even start saying thank you for something like that?"

Mr Black's mother, Michaela, said "It's heartwarming what Daniel has done. It's crazy that that young lad Brecon could be able to walk if he had the money. Daniel can't walk right now, and he accepts that. That little boy needs to be out playing football with his friends in the sunshine, not at home asking his mummy why he can't. I'm so proud of Daniel."

#This is an act of pure sacrifice which is very rare these days. Stories like this should make the headlines of news everyday....I'm sure it would lead to a better society. He is a true HERO!

FamilySHOCKER! 21-years-old Woman Hired Hitman To Kill Her Husband by AllRoundGist(op): 1:40am On Jul 09, 2013
Like seriously, some people are Devil's incarnate for real! This is one of those things we only watch on televisions.

A 21-years-old Julia Charlene Merfeld, hired a fake hitman who is actually a Michigan State Police detective, to kill her husband, Jacob Merfeld, so she could get his $400,000 life insurance benefit.

Her plans came to limelight after she approached her co-worker, Carlos Ramos, and asked him to kill her husband. According to Carlos, at first, he thought she was joking, but when she kept coming back for it, he realized she was serious about her plans, but he didn't want to go back to prison because he is an ex-convict, so he tipped the police about Julia's plan and an undercover police played the part of a hitman and Julia was eventually nabbed.
May God save men from women like this.

I couldn't post the video here, so, click on the below link to watch the video of how she planned out her husband's death

Music/RadioEbony Oshunrinde Created A Beat For Jay-z's New Album by AllRoundGist(op):
An amazing16-years-old Nigerian/Canadian, Ebony Osunrinde, who goes by the name "Wondagurl" has just been credited as a producer on "Crown," a track on Jay-Z's new album "Magna Carta Holy Grail." Wondagurl just finished 11th grade at Chinguacousy Secondary School, and she started out at producing sounds after watching a video of Jay-Z and Timbaland working in the studio together when she was 9. She bagan downloading music software and teaching herself how to use it by watching YouTube tutorials. "I wanted to do the exact thing that he [Jay-Z] did. Anybody can be successful, it doesn't matter where you are from." she recently told TheStar in an interview.

When she was 14, she made it to the quarter-finals of Toronto's Battle of the Beatmakers. She won the title the following year and went on to sign an exclusive management deal with Black Box.

According to Ian Stanger, a representative with Black Box, "It's amazing to see somebody with that much talent working as hard as she can to make the most of it at such a young age. It's her work that people should be paying attention to, not that fact that she's 16."

Earlier this year, Ebony sent the beat to her friend Travis Scott, a younger rapper and producer from Houston who met Ebony last year. He happened to be in the studio with Jay-Z when he received it, and when he told her that the cut had made it to the album, she thought he was joking.

The sound that landed on Jay-Z's album began with a reggae song. Ebony sampled the music and added her own twist using computer software. "It has a lot of bass and a lot of bounce." she explained.

She said when she told her mother the good news, she cried. Ebony got her passport last year and hopes to meet Jay-Z someday. Before now, she also produced a song for Travis Scott.
The mother must be very proud! Congrats girl!

CultureAn Beaten & Burnt Alive For Stealing A Gold Necklace. by AllRoundGist(op):
I thought these act of jungle justice only happen in Nigeria but i was wrong. Are Africans humans or just sheeps in wolves clothing?

The commission of the 8th district of Douala in Cameroon, confirmed this incident. The victim goes by the name Solo and he happened to be a popular guy in the neighborhood with an history of assault and robbery.

On Friday 21st June, there was a vigil in the neighborhood, during that vigil, Solo allegedly stole a gold chain and a phone and flew away. The angered residents present at the vigil swore to skin him alive the next day and unfortunately for him, he was found and dealt with on Saturday June 22nd.

According to eye witness, Solo was wearing the gold chain on his neck and had the sim card from the phone he had stolen the previous night when the person he had stolen from found him and collected his belongings. He was asked to go away after the stolen items were collected from him but the residents refused him to leave, saying it wasn't the first time he had stolen things from them, that they would have arrested him but they don't trust the police nor the court, so they preferred to take laws into their hands and burn him to death.

The people took him to Brazzaville neighborhood where he had stole the items and began beating him with clubs and sticks, then they pour gasoline on him, out him in the middle of tires and set him ablaze. After burning him, they continued torturing him before the police arrived at the scene.

From the horrific video which i can't post here, he seemed alive but convulsing when the police arrived and the crowd started shouting "how come he is still breathing? He must die!"

Even while the police were there, they couldn't calm the crowd as the people continued throwing stones at Solo and even ran over him with a motorcycle without the police doing nothing. His body was finally dragged on the ground to a car which wasn't a police van and he was taken away.

Just like in Nigeria, these acts of jungle justice are very common in Douala because people feel that these armed robbers are not been punished enough and they never make their full prison sentence.

EducationHow Many People Composed The National Anthem? - History Of The National Anthem. by AllRoundGist(op): 8:25am On Jun 25, 2013
Nigeria’s poor public record keeping and the mostly ignorant understanding of history by its people might assume tragic dimensions if not corrected soon.

One glaring example of our ignorance of the country’s history followed the death of Pa Benedict Odiase, the “composer” of the national anthem. Most of the tributes which poured in after his death and the reports on the man, hailed him as the composer of the anthem. No reference was made to the fact that Odiase was in fact the composer of the tune but not the wordings of the anthem. The fact that the anthem was composed only in 1978 makes one wonder how many other details in our recent and far past have been lost.

It is unlikely that the snub on the other composers of the anthem was deliberate. It was the result of ignorance on the matter.

One of the five composers of the wordings of the anthem is Dr Sota Omoigui, a Nigerian consultant anesthesiologist and pain specialist based in the United States.

Omoigui recently spoke with The Nation on the history of the anthem among other things. It was a revealing interview and like he said, “A nation that forgets its history has no guide to its future.”See excerpts below:

Pa Benneth Odiase who composed the music of the national anthem died during the week; what kind of tribute do you want to pay in his memory?

I am saddened by the passing away of Pa Benedict Odiase who composed the music of our national anthem. As one of the five co-authors of the wordings of the anthem, I had looked forward to the day when the country would bring us all together – composers of both the words and music – to celebrate what we created in 1978 – 35 years ago.

The words and music replaced the old colonial anthem of “Nigeria, we hail thee” and were composed to inspire all of us -citizens and leaders – to build a great nation. Alas, death gave our leaders a long time to get this done, but death can only wait so long. I wish Pa Odiase God speed and journey mercies as he unshackles the bonds of this earthly world. May the good Lord console his family and give them the strength to bear his loss. They should take solace that where the Lord abides, death will have no sting and grave no victory.

The nation can be comforted that whenever the drum roll of our national anthem is played, Pa Odiase would be smiling from heaven. May we continue to be one nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

As one of the composers of the words of the Nigerian national anthem, it must mean much to you than all of us who recite it. What kind of feelings do you get when you hear the anthem?

I have mixed feelings when I hear our anthem. I have pride in our country and its potential to take its place as a great nation. Nigerians are achievers who thrive anywhere in the world they go. But I feel sadness that we as a country have lost our way. We are a giant shackled to the underclass of nations, and kept in bondage by our leaders whose corruption and avarice demonstrate a lack of love for their own people. Love is mentioned in each verse of the anthem. But our political leaders show only love for themselves and their immediate family. Our hospitals can remain mere consulting clinics with few drugs and outdated equipment as long as they can travel abroad for medical treatment and earn foreign exchange for themselves and their family while receiving the best medical care. This is the opposite of all the virtues we called for in the anthem. Our leaders are living in a bubble and fail to see a train crash waiting to happen.

Can you recall your involvement in composing the anthem?

Very much so. I was in Kings College, Lagos at the time, and there was a national competition for the anthem organized by the National Publicity Committee on the Draft Constitution/Return to Civilian Rule in Nigeria. I sent in my entry, and, to my great surprise, I saw my name in the Daily Times newspaper as one of the top five selected out of a total of 1,499 entries submitted. The final words of the national anthem were formed from these five entries.

What particular words are yours in the anthem?

The last lines of each verse.

What informed your words in the anthem?

It was my desire for a great nation bound in love, social justice, peace, freedom and unity. Justice and peace are two sides of the same coin. As the late great Fela Anikulapo-Kuti would say: No justice, no peace. And that is the story of Nigeria to date. When the under trodden have no justice, the ruling class will find no peace.

You said in your press release that the anthem was composed to inspire all of us -citizens and leaders – to build a great nation; has this been achieved?

Unfortunately, we as a nation have failed to achieve our potential. In fact we have lost our way. I will give you two examples.

First, when I drive on the 405 freeway which passes next to Los Angeles International Airport, I can see planes coming in to land. The national insignia on the aircraft is very visible. I see national airlines from many developing countries, such as Ethiopian Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Malaysian Airlines and even from small pacific islands, such as Air Tahiti Nui. But I feel a pain in my heart that I do not see the Nigeria Airways insignia on any aircraft. We cannot even run our own national airline. And that is a nation that has lost its way.

Second, the Channels TV video that showed the rot at the Police College, Lagos – This is a glaring example of leaders who do not care for their people.

How do you go to work in the foremost police college of the country with any conscience and supervise the training of future police officers in such dilapidated and appalling conditions ?

How do you sleep at night knowing that your trainee officers are living in such squalid conditions?

How did we as a country deteriorate to such an extent, where no one is held accountable? I will take the liberty to quote my sister-in-law, Mrs Moira Omoigui, whose response to the video was a prayer that “May you and your loved ones never meet the products of such an institution at a checkpoint” That prayer sums it all.

These and the underdevelopment of our nation bring up the salient question whether we were ready for independence and if we can rule ourselves.

Who are the other co-composers?

These records are available online. The other co-authors of the anthem lyrics are John A. Ilechukwu, Eme Etim Akpan, B. A. Ogunnaike and P. O. Aderibigbe. The music was composed by the Police Band under the directorship of Benedict Elide Odiase.

You said you had looked forward to the day when the country would bring together – composers of both the words and music – to celebrate what you all created in 1978 - 35 years ago; why do you think this didn’t happen?

The origin and history of the anthem had been forgotten by those in government. Pa Odiase was awarded the MON in December 2001 for the anthem.
However, the composition of the anthem comprised both music and lyrics. This was a lost opportunity to bring together all those who created the anthem.

Do you feel cheated that you and your co-composers have not been acknowledged and rewarded like Pa Odiase?

Not at all. The origin and history of the anthem have been forgotten and that explains why none of the other composers has been acknowledged. This is a reflection of our government as well as the state of our media when our journalists go to press without doing the minimum research or fact finding.

ALL the newspaper reports since the transition of Pa Odiase have described him incorrectly as the composer of the national anthem. This is not to take anything from the greatness of Pa Odiase and the indelible musical legacy of the anthem he has left behind for our country. I am very pleased that he was acknowledged in his lifetime.

But history is history. It cannot be altered and we must document it as it is. With a few keystrokes search on the Internet, any reporter or government official can obtain the proper history of our national anthem, including the names of the composers of the lyrics as well as the music. This is just recent history dating back to 1978, and we cannot get it right. Compare that to the UK where they acknowledge their history dating back a thousand years such as the conquest of King Harold by William the conqueror on October 13th, 1066. This should be a wake-up call for all of us.

A nation that forgets its history has no guide to its future.

Now irrespective of our failure to remember our history, I cannot feel cheated when the average Nigerian is cheated of constant power supply, cheated of potable water, cheated of good roads, cheated of basic health care, cheated of good education, cheated of security for life and limb and cheated of good governance.

Will you still be willing to participate in a get- together of the composers?

Yes I will.

Do you think Nigerians have imbibed the message of the anthem? If not, what should be done to ensure that it is not just a song, but a call to action?

The message of the anthem can only resonate when we have moral leadership, starting from President Goodluck Jonathan and permeating all branches of the government from top to bottom. Corruption is not a problem in Nigeria. It is an institution and a way of life. We are too greedy and selfish to realize the old saying that a rising tide lifts all boats. 300 years ago, our ancestors sold their brothers and sisters into physical slavery. Today the majority of Nigerians are in economic servitude. More than 100 million Nigerians, about 61 per cent of the population, were living on less than $1 a day at the end of 2010. That’s up from 51 per cent in 2004, as reported by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics. Despite the fact that the Nigerian economy is growing, the proportion of Nigerians living in poverty is increasing every year, as reported by the statistician general. We cannot solve the problems of Boko Haram with an iron fist. Neither can we solve the environmental and economic devastation in the Niger Delta by paying off the militants.

Our people need a coherent economic plan and a leadership that work for them. Our constitution with its party system that prevents honest men and women from rising to leadership positions, its failure to provide for independent candidates, lack of checks and balances of an all powerful executive branch and numerous other failings has set us up for failure.

We need an independent Office of the Inspector General at all levels of Federal, State and Local Government to audit and prevent crime and an independent transparent EFCC to prosecute the crime. All past and present office holders must match their assets with their income. But alas, until we adhere to the words of our anthem, Nigeria can never take its place of leadership in the community of nations.

CelebritiesNollyweirdians: Nadia Buari Ditch Jim Iyke Over Lies (tweets & Photo Evidence) by AllRoundGist(op): 5:53am On Jun 25, 2013
It looks like the engine on the train of love of actress Nadia Buari and actor Jim Iyke has experience a hard knock as the Ghanian/nollywood actress wiped off all memories of Jim off her Instagram page and took to Twitter to lament about preferring to be hurt with the truth rather than been comforted with lies and about a loyal person being pushed to the extent of not giving a $hit anymore. Nadia has apparently stop giving $hit and has threw 'love & friendship till the end of time' to the wind.

It seems like she called it quit with Jim Iyke as the dude took to Twitter few hours ago to rewrite what Nadia's tweet that he retweeted some days ago.
These used to be lovebirds and bestie who swore to be friends till the end of time, apparently have some trust issues.

While they are throwing arrows at each other, they are giving themselves away. Below is the tweet Nadia tweeted exactly a month ago while the going was good. They were busy calling themselves Skittles and Space and laughing and pretending to hide their affairs. But now they are asking each other to feed their faiths and starve their doubts.

FamilySHOCKING Response To Child Adoption In Nigeria. by AllRoundGist(op): 11:16am On Jun 21, 2013
BattaBox is back again with an interesting topic that brought out some alarming answers and findings. "Can Nigerians Adopt A Child?"
Some random Lagosians were asked this question and majority of them gave some alarming and disappointing answers that will make anyone think Nigerians are wicked people.

One woman said, "It's not ideal, why would you adopt a child? You don't know that blood that gave birth to the child..when the child grows up, something may happen."

"I would not want to adopt a child because you may not know the gene of that child" Says one man.

Another woman said, "Of course i can adopt a child and raise them, you have to take care of the baby like your own. It's a very good idea, you adopt the child and bring the child up to your own tastes, sponsor their school, there is nothing bad about it."

"You need love to train a child and i don't think if you adopt a child, you will be able to pass on the love..." Says one woman.

Na wa oh! Nigerians with their low and retarded mentality. How can one say adoption is not acceptable? With more than 150 million population, we still have the mindset of producing more and over-populating the earth because of some tabooish mentality of ours.

There are so many women who cannot have their own kids but keep waiting on God for some miracles whereas they cannot raise some orphans because they are not of same blood; forgetting that God did not call us to love, raise and look after only own blood but anyone who is in need.

Ignorance is really a big disease and Nigerians should work on curing that disease. Most Nigerians are infected with this disease and having a university degree doesn't make you free from it.

Nigerians are wicked by nature. You go to church and pray to God, yet you lack empathy for others, you can't give home to the homeless because they are not your blood.
Will Nigeria ever grow? God bless those who adopting and supporting the orphans.

Christianity EtcPastor Ask Members To Donate Money To Fix His Helicopter & Win A Car From God by AllRoundGist(op): 4:46pm On Jun 20, 2013
Bishop I.V Hilliard of New Light Church - Houston, Texas, asked the members of his church to donate $52,000 for the replacement and fixing of the blade in his Helicopter and that the Lord would issue favor to congregants that might help them obtain their dream cars. He promised that "when you sow a $52 transportation favor seed believing in 52 days or 52 weeks, you will experience breakthrough favor."

The Helicopter which is worth $1 million, is used to transport Hilliard from church to church. Hilliard and his wife own a private jet, a $2 million Hawker and it is housed in the hanger of the church which is worth $3 million.

#I know religion is a very sensitive matter but hey.....why didn't he ask God himself for the blade instead of preying on the vulnerable poor people? Religion is the biggest ponzi scheme of our time; it's all about donation, donation and donation.
Pastors of these days are more into making money than spreading the word of God and lots of their members faithfully put money in the collection box every week while struggling to keep roof over their heads. People have been fooled to believe that giving to the church is giving to God. God doesn't get one cent of those money, pastors use the money to fund their mansions and fancy cars while members find it hard to even pay their bills and rents. If you want to donate money, give it to the homeless and less privileged in the society. Modern days fraudsters! #

CelebritiesA Nigerian Cab Driver Killed In New York Stabbed In The Eye With An Umbrella by AllRoundGist(op): 7:12am On Jun 15, 2013
A Nigerian cab driver living in New York has been killed trying to make a living and support his family. He was killed by a passenger who savagely stabbed him in the eye with an umbrella in Brooklyn. He was a dedicated father of five who worked to help his family find a better life, a relative said Friday.
Orji-Ama Uro, 54, had just let a man and a woman out of the livery cab on Thomas S. Boyland St. in Brownsville when the pair began to argue with the driver about 5 p.m. Thursday, police sources said.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, then jabbed the umbrella through Uro's right eye, piercing his brain, before the cabbie hit the gas and crashed into a couple of parked cars outside a Lott Ave. home, sources said.

"The scene was gruesome," said Fernando Mateo, president of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers. "His face was just exploded with blood."

As the suspect sprinted away from the scene, the woman, who was carrying a white bag, calmly walked away. The murder weapon was not found.

Investigators were still trying Friday to determine the motive behind the brutal attack.

Detectives initially suspected Uro had been robbed, but he still had a wad of cash in his pocket and a cell phone, sources said. His wallet was found in the glove compartment.

Mateo said Uro’s car, which had New Jersey license plates, had a sticker from a nearby taxi company, but he was no longer officially working for them. It was not clear if Uro was working illegally to dodge taxes and insurance payments, or if he had been stripped of his driving privileges. But Mateo said that didn’t matter. "You know, everyone is trying to hustle for a living, but no one deserves to lose their life," he said.

Uro emigrated from Nigeria with his five children about 10 years ago, said his sister-in-law, Chinedum Agwu. "He came for a better life," said Agwu, 30. She said Uro worked long hours as a cabbie so he could support his family, but he was always nervous about the dangers that came with the job. "He wanted to stop doing that and find something else, because it's a dangerous job," Agwu said. "He worried about being killed a lot. And we worried, too."

Mateo's group and community organizers are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the suspects' arrest.

"This is an outrage for our community," said activist Tony Herbert. "We are sick and tired of these senseless murders in our community."
