I think have known reasons why federal government hiking d price of petrol, jst to save money into government account which is a good idea. But am also want to say dis emphatically dat federal government should use d revovery money for its purpose.

President Muhammadu Buhari is on his way back to Nigeria after the anti-corruption summit that took him to the United Kingdom.

While in London the President spoke to journalists on his assessment of the fight against corruption, insecurity and how he uncovered the padding of the 2016 budget.

He said that if he had not uncovered the padding of the budget, corruption would have crept into that 2016 budget, blaming it on technocrats.

But many critics say the anticorruption fight is lopsided, while others wonder when the President would begin to publish names of the alleged corrupt officials and how much he has recovered so far.

The President said that he would be making a comprehensive broadcast of what has been recovered and from which individuals on May 29.

The President explained that he was taking his time because he wants to make sure that those indicted are successfully prosecuted.

President Buhari also spoke on security issues; the fight against Boko Haram, the havoc by herdsmen, kidnapping and the resurgence of militancy and what will happen to those blowing up gas pipelines in the Niger Delta.

President Buhari’s statements are coming at a time many Nigerians are in doubt about the change mantra that his administration came in with, but he says Nigerians should have confidence in his ability to secure and manage the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday morning held a closed-door meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury, in the UK, Justin Welby, before leaving for Abuja.

This was after world leaders had agreed that there is need to eradicate corruption among nations at the high profile anti-corruption summit in London.

At the opening session of the summit, British Prime Minister, David Cameron, promised to set up a public register to show owners of properties in Britain, in an effort to stop stolen funds from being laundered through London’s property market.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed the money laundering charges levelled against a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The trial judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, in a judgment on Wednesday, freed Fani-Kayode after holding that “the prosecution case is feeble” and had failed to prove the allegations against the accused person beyond reasonable doubt.

There was heavily downpour in Ekiti state todat at exatly 5pm where d flood sack people from entrying their houses. The area being affected with the flood is Ekiti PDP party chairman who brought tractor to unexpected raining. I was surprise when I was coming from office and saw chairman with a tractor man grading d road 3 days before election. And I asked myself that so citizen should nt expect something good from our leaders unless they want to get sth from us too. The ex-governor said Jonathan could not deny that he invited Tinubu to be part of the planned Interim Government, saying the APC leader made the allegation in good faith and not to discredit the president or heat up the polity.

“President Jonathan is becoming desperate by the day and he would stop at nothing to return to government. You know what they did in Ekiti. So, there was nothing Tinubu said that was not verifiable.

"I have evidence that he was invited to be part of Interim Government as a way of dividing us as a prominent member of our party. There is absolutely nothing they cannot do to distract us because they could see that Presidency is gradually slipping off their hands.

“It was good that these alarms were being raised and put in the front burner that there was a sinister intention to subvert the will of the people.

“What Nigerians are looking for now is for the elections to be held on March 28 as scheduled by INEC and for the victor who was overwhelmingly elected by the popular votes to be announced.

"We as party leaders and members of opposition are ready to congratulate the winner, but if they go ahead and subvert the will of the people, they will surely go to jail,” he declared.

Fayemi assured that Buhari will keep to his promise not to dig into the financial corruption perpetrated in the past under Jonathan if that was what members of the ruling party were afraid of.


“Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari said he won’t look into the past. He said he will draw the line on the very day he took over and I don’t know why President Jonathan , who has the paraphernalia of office is afraid of election.

“There was nothing the PDP , even as a ruling party has not done to ensure that these elections are not held. We have heard about the sowing of fake Army uniform, we have heard about how they want to use the Army to rig the election, we have seen attempt to sack Prof. Attahiru Jega, we have heard about how they have been preaching about religion, talking about the health of Gen. Buhari and the way they had been canvassing for postponement of elections and non-usage of card readers. The big question still remains, why are they afraid of election?”

Fayemi declared that the government of Jonathan would be held responsible, if anything bad happened to Tinubu.

“If Jonathan loses this election, he can still get whatever he wants. It is a matter of negotiation with Buhari, who had promised not to probe the past governments.

“But I want to say that we will hold Jonathan’s government responsible, if even the minutest thing happens to Tinubu,” he concluded.
