So u want to work for 3 years and come back with say 33M assuming(impossibly) u save 30% for d 3 yrs and invest in a business right ? So can u explain why those who have 40M already in Nigerian are seeking to travel to the UK?
He didn't say he will invest and stay in Nigeria. Nobody dose that...
If you lose the 33 million in the business, you can always make another one through your already established career in UK. If you lose 40M while in Nigeria, your life is possibly over...

Please educate me, how will the government send telegram packing? The most they can do is to block access to it like they did with Twitter, but people still accessed it will VPN! And FYI, cryptocurrency is legal in Canada and it's not heavily taxed in the UK, it's still regular tax (income tax and capital gain tax). The Internet is there for you to make research so as not to spew wrong information on a public forum, but you chose to ignore it, thinking you're smart

How did they send binance packing ? The answer will enlighten you how they will send telegram packing from trading naira. People never belived Binance can fold, they keep saying if government ban binance, they will use VPN to access it, all those messages are right here on this Nairaland, is VPN now working for them ?

And I dont know what you mean by Crypto is legal in Canada, what you are being told is you cannot trade Canadian dollars on crypto websites in Canada. The moment you land in Canada, your binance p2p stop working.... and the tax you will pay per withdrawal in UK will definitely discourage you from any arbitrage...

Picture below is what you'll get when you try it in Canada.

Due to the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency, you can never clamp down on all p2p platforms, why? Because some of them are strictly anonymous. P2p platforms exist in Whatsapp and telegram groups, how do you propose the government shutdown those? It's only the likes of Binance and Bybit that this approach will work for but even at that, the owners of some of these p2p platforms are not known
You are ignorant if you think a government of a country cannot send telegram and the likes packing if there operations are not wanted. People that were shouting then that if government block binance, they will use VPN, is there VPN now helping them ?

For Your information, all these cryptocurrency of a thing doesn't work in Canada... You will pay heavy taxes in UK if you withdraw from crypto site. US will also jail you and your platform if they catch you manipulating there currency or evading tax...

The comments are shocking and horrendous.
A 48 year old man should abandon certainty to Jump to an uncertain life. It’s like committing sucide.
An Accountant at 48 should go and learn forklifting or settle for care jobs.
The absolute state of these comments. Do they really think life anywhere is really that easy?
We are too gullible in this country.
The man will regret making such move for the rest of his life.

He has moved, created another thread on how moving was the best decision of his life; what do you have to say about that ?

Some of you that have not crossed the border will just open mouth and criticize based on what you read on the media or lies your friends that refused to come home tells you... 1.1 million naira salary is what you want to compare with what the man will earn in Australia and standard of living for him and his family ? ... The way it's hard to make 1 million naira per month in Nigeria really makes many of you think that's a lot of money

Looking at the quality of indomie sold in Nigeria and the one sold in abroad is enough comparison of standard of living...

Please I need assistance.
How do I go about GIC?
Do I need to buy CAD or USD to fund my domicillary account?
Which bank is preferable?
Can a relation in canada fund it for me? If not, is there a way for her to send the funds to Naija without converting to naira so i can fund my domicillary account ?

Procedure to open GIC in Canada

First you go to there website https://pay.cibc.com/ISBO/payment/#/ and create a profile.
1. You are applying for student GIC program

2. Minimum amount is $10000, you can do upto $50000

3. Select resident country

4. Do not check the I'd like to pay in canadian dollars box

5.. you will see an amount in USD click on it and continue, that amount will be held for 20 minutes while u fill the form

6. After filling the form you will be contacted by the bank in 1-2 business days with an account number to pay into

7.. proceed to the bank and make the payment from a USD account

NOTE: PAYMENT MUST BE MADE FROM THE SAME NAME ACCOUNT OTHERWISE THEY WILL RETURN YOUR MONEY. THIS MEANS NO ONE CAN PAY ON YOUR BEHALF. YOU HAVE TO PAY IT THROUGH A DORMICILLIARY ACCOUNT BEARING YOUR OWN NAME

Thanks for the response, I sincerely appreciate.

Of a truth my pathway is through the student route(study visa), my family is planning to sell properties worth over #30m to sponsor it. However, with this your response I think I need to do a rethink.
For the sake of accuracy, the individual you referenced provided incorrect information.
Allow your family to proceed with the sale of the property, as it will ultimately prove to be a worthwhile decision.

My reason: With certainty, you will make over 30 million naira in Canada in a shortwhile, if you can't boast of that in Nigeria, kindly embark on the journey.

Hey 🤠

1. Its not worth it on Study Visa . Let's assume your visa is granted , you will start another journey by studying and working which will incapacitate you in achieving lot of things until you are through with your study and work yourself towards Residency. In Canada, you have to abide by all rules (as an international student) .

2. It's worth it on Permanent Residency / Work Visa . By this , as you are landing in Canada, you are above someone with a study visa because you can start working immediately, open a normal bank account, secure driving licence , apply for loan etc . In short , this visa makes you on the ladder of becoming a Canadian citizen if you know what you are doing.

3. In either way. You have to be extremely careful of (some) travel agents . A woman was hoodwinked to the sum of N15.M on this same Canada visa . She together with her daughter have gone back to zero level . She sold a property too. Open your eyes and be certain that any process you choose involves you physically and on the Web.

Best Wishes 🙏

Just to correct you, someone with a study visa can start work immidiately, open a normal bank account, secure the highest level of driving licence (G licence), apply for loan. You don't even need to be looking for work, some students just buy ride and start doing share ride and Uber eats; they make money from there....

I applied to Conestoga since January and I'm still awaiting a verdict on my application. I checked the OCAS portal a few days ago and saw that I was placed on waitlist on the 2 optional courses I chose, while no decision has been made on my course of preference. Within this period I have already applied and gotten admission to study in the UK and I think I'd just take it, despite not liking the UK. My siblings and friends who live in the UK are telling me to rather wait for Conestoga verdict than to pay for the UK school tuition deposit because of upcoming UK study visa rules by the home office. Even though I understand their concerns, my home ties to Nigeria isn't even strong at all if I apply for a study visa to Canada. I can afford the cost of relocating to Canada myself because I have always wanted to relocate out of Nigeria so I planned financially for years. I refused to acquire any property, cars, and get married that would limit me when the time comes to leave. I'm also above 30.
My chances of getting a study visa is better currently with the UK than Canada, which makes the whole waiting for Conestoga verdict a waste of my time. With the news and rumors of how Conestoga College is badly run academically and administratively, also the housing and living crisis in Canada, I'm just like is it even worth it to go there for a PGD, when I can just get a master's degree in the UK for the same amount.

Prior to submitting an application for a UK visa, it is essential you think of the complexities associated with transitioning from a student visa to a work visa. This challenge is commonly encountered by international students in the UK. In contrast, obtaining permanent residency in Canada presents fewer obstacles, as there are numerous pathways to achieve this status.

Instead of becoming a doubting Thomas, why not just try and be verifying things first? Google is there for free if you have data. I travelled to Hungary last year. Early this year,.I travelled again to another destination. I have a good relationship woth my bank. They're the first who told me of the tax clearance thing last year. We approached firs and got it done, still no fx allocation from the cbn. The queue was ridiculously long. Na aboki bail me out I'm the end. Same this year.

My inlaws had their tax clearance already
and just last month, they couldn't get fx from the bank for their PTA. We had to go to Allen ave, to get fx for them.

The comment section just shows how ill-informed people are. I wonder how this was treated as breaking news. I mean, it has been in effect since last year. I submitted three years of tax clearance to GTB before I could get FX.

Op, what in the world makes you think the things you complain of in Nigeria do not happen where you are going?

The lack of power and electricity is probably the worst in Nigeria making everything else worse. But Nigerians that Japa are too ashamed to tell you that proportionally, foreigners in these overseas countries make up a higher percentage of the poor.

Yes, a poor foreigner overseas is a naira millionaire in Nigeria. Many Europeans and Americans live from one paycheck to another. If they miss more than one paycheck in a month, they become homeless and go on welfare, food stamps, food pantries as was televised worldwide on tv. during Covid-19.

Would you tell Nigerians if you were homeless until you freeze to death?
Those two points I bolded for you may be misleading. Sometimes I wonder about the type of abroad some of you guys visit and the routes you take. If you follow the legal route, you can never encounter poverty in abroad. Notice the "can never," ? Yes, am stating fact and reality for you. All you need is one Job and rest is history. Even Nigerians that seeked asylum in Canada earn and save more money than an oil company employee in Nigeria.

As someone else mentioned, poverty is indeed a choice in foreign countries. I can assure you of that.

And for his awareness, classy babes have left, are leaving, and are wishing to leave Nigeria daily... Just as someone said, go embassy, airports, you will see classy babes in the queue.... Go to expensive restaurants et al like someone said, most you'll meet are classy hookup babes...... Most classy babes making cool money, they hardly leave there house just like you....
