Procedure to open GIC in Canada

First you go to there website https://pay.cibc.com/ISBO/payment/#/ and create a profile.
1. You are applying for student GIC program

2. Minimum amount is $10000, you can do upto $50000

3. Select resident country

4. Do not check the I'd like to pay in canadian dollars box

5.. you will see an amount in USD click on it and continue, that amount will be held for 20 minutes while u fill the form

6. After filling the form you will be contacted by the bank in 1-2 business days with an account number to pay into

7.. proceed to the bank and make the payment from a USD account

NOTE: PAYMENT MUST BE MADE FROM THE SAME NAME ACCOUNT OTHERWISE THEY WILL RETURN YOUR MONEY. THIS MEANS NO ONE CAN PAY ON YOUR BEHALF. YOU HAVE TO PAY IT THROUGH A DORMICILLIARY ACCOUNT BEARING YOUR OWN NAME

1. Its not worth it on Study Visa . Let's assume your visa is granted , you will start another journey by studying and working which will incapacitate you in achieving lot of things until you are through with your study and work yourself towards Residency. In Canada, you have to abide by all rules (as an international student) .

2. It's worth it on Permanent Residency / Work Visa . By this , as you are landing in Canada, you are above someone with a study visa because you can start working immediately, open a normal bank account, secure driving licence , apply for loan etc . In short , this visa makes you on the ladder of becoming a Canadian citizen if you know what you are doing.

3. In either way. You have to be extremely careful of (some) travel agents . A woman was hoodwinked to the sum of N15.M on this same Canada visa . She together with her daughter have gone back to zero level . She sold a property too. Open your eyes and be certain that any process you choose involves you physically and on the Web.

Just to correct you, someone with a study visa can start work immidiately, open a normal bank account, secure the highest level of driving licence (G licence), apply for loan. You don't even need to be looking for work, some students just buy ride and start doing share ride and Uber eats; they make money from there....

I applied to Conestoga since January and I'm still awaiting a verdict on my application. Instead of becoming a doubting Thomas, why not just try and be verifying things first? Google is there for free if you have data. I travelled to Hungary last year. Early this year,.I travelled again to another destination. I have a good relationship woth my bank. They're the first who told me of the tax clearance thing last year. We approached firs and got it done, still no fx allocation from the cbn. The queue was ridiculously long. Na aboki bail me out I'm the end. Same this year.

My inlaws had their tax clearance already
and just last month, they couldn't get fx from the bank for their PTA. We had to go to Allen ave, to get fx for them.

Even Nigerians that seeked asylum in Canada earn and save more money than an oil company employee in Nigeria.

I was refused US study visa 6years ago, which I indicated in my application. But one thing I didn't remember the main read I was refused then so I just added (that additional supporting documentation is required).

Issue here is, you didn't submit the application yourself, so you wouldn't be sure what your agent submitted on your behalf. Be grateful you didn't get Procedural Fairness...

Just as someone else said, kindly enjoy the 5 years ban and in your future endeavour, run away from agents.... Visa application is not rocket science, information on this group is enough to apply yourself....

Kindly note, if anyone private message you and say you should hire immigration lawyer, trust me, it will turn out to be a waste of money..... IRCC already have evidence to counter any appeal....

Many bank staffs currently being employed now are just too novice and ignorant of information they dish out and to get accurate information, just send a mail to the bank website...

This Form A below was applied for in same August you are talking about and disbursed 4th of September. That's less than a month from beginning to the end...
Now, am not gonna say others will take similar duration, but am saying Form A works and no bank will tell you to go and find who will sell to you....
And for the record, this FormA below was disbursed at 1 CAD = 565 Naira and Amount disbursed is 15,100 CAD.... There's also no limit on amount you can put in the new FormA process....
